“Contributor To” Button – This is by far my favorite feature of Google+. I find that bloggers often have a large portfolio of writing samples for editors, and likewise editors are interested in seeing this large portfolio. However, as an editor I know that these portfolios come in a variety of different forms. Some let me know if the article was published on a specific site, others just send me random samples, some use PDF formatting, others use Excel, and the list goes on and on. Google+ makes this easy by including a section of a user’s profile called “contributor to.” The feature looks like this:

As you can see, you find this feature in the “about” section of your Google+ profile. To add in all of the sites where you’ve contributed, you simply click “edit” and then hit the “contributor to” area. You will not only be able to type in the name of the site where you contributed, but you can link back to your article on that site.

Authorship – These features allows those in your Google+ circles to see your name and face on a Google search engine page if your article comes up as one to read. +1 Button – I love the +1 button because it is extremely easy to use. Second, it works similarly to the authorship feature. If you +1 something then your name and picture will show up saying you +1’ed the article. You don’t have to write the article to +1 it, but most authors will +1 their own article or other articles written on their blog. The search page would look like this:

As you can see, I +1’ed this article. In other words, if someone in my Google+ circles searched for something in Google and this article came up, they would see that I +1’ed the article. Therefore, they may be more likely to read. If you ever want to +1 an article, just look for the little +1 button on the webpage.

Plus, they offer much superior battery life, meaning that you’ll effectively be able to get more hours of work done before having to hunt for a power plug.

Solid Planning/Scheduling Skills

Asides from the aforementioned pieces of equipment, you’ll also have to work on a couple important skills, in order to make a good living as a Nomad blogger. Most importantly, you’ll need to become really good at planning your routes and scheduling your time. You should also be comfortable booking your travel accomodations on-line, since it’s usually the most time-efficient way of doing so.

Additionally, you should get in the habit of creating to-do lists and writing down your schedule, making sure to always include all work related affairs. This will ensure you never forget about a commitment or important task, and once you learn to effectively allot your time, you will find it is much simpler to get things done with the most ease… not matter where you’re at.

Shutting Out Distractions

Another quality that is most important for anyone who wishes to become a nomad blogger is the ability to persistently focus on a task, no matter where you are or how confusing the environment is. In this line of work, you will routinely find that you have to write a piece of content or handle important e-mail conversations while sitting in a loud café, or even while standing waiting for the next bus.

Google is taking steps in its goal of being more social. Last week they announced that Google Search + YourWorld becomes available to google.com.

What’s this Google Search + Your World ?

When you search on Google, in addition to showing you the results, Google normally shows you results with your own content or that have been shared with you through your friends on occasions. In this way Google intends to offer more personalized results to the searches for each user. The changes in the search engine are:

1. Personal Results

For each user, Google will provide you customized results with your personal content in Google + (photos, reviews, videos) and those that was shared by your friends.

Will you provide results of Facebook or Twitter for example?

For now, not since Google cannot access private content on these platforms, and it seems quite unlikely that they permit.

2. Search profiles

When you find someone, Google will offer Google + profile in the results or auto complete your name while you’re typing. They also give suggestion about people you might be interested, be friends with your friends or to be relevant in a field simply.

3. People and pages

Google will help you to find people and Google + pages related to a specific topic or area of interest. Since the same results may follow the person or brand.

This functionality is giving a lot to talk about. Danny Sullivan tells us in his article on Search Engine Land For example, if we look at Britney Spears on Google, gives the profile of Britney in Google + but gives no information about their other profiles on Twitter or Facebook but it is clearly indicated in + your Google profile.

The same goes for Kate Perry, that not having a profile on Google +, Google suggests us that she is not a relevant person to follow in Social Networks. But even if you have nearly 40 million Facebook fans that would not be relevant?

It appears that the initial goal of Google to show relevant content to users is failing or maybe Google is doing to push those who are not in your network of Google + so that you can be in search results. Whatever it is not as clear as it tries to show at first sight.

According to Google, all the information in your search results, including comments from friends in Google + and private photos is protected by SSL encryption with Google +. This means that when you’re logged into Google, the search results and private contents appear to you are protected in the same way as an email.
