However, it’s not really true that there is an app for everything. If you have a Gold BlackBerry SDK 10, for example, you now have the power to create your own applications. Take a look at these five apps that don’t exist yet, but you could possibly develop one day.

The “Bless You” App

Does it make you sad when someone isn’t around to say “bless you” when you sneeze? With a program like adobe air it’s possible to develop your own apps. Every time you sneeze, the app could politely say, “bless you.” Of course, one possible problem with this app is that it might not recognize your individual sneeze because everyone and every sneeze sounds a little different. However, you could program the app to recognize it.

The Simon Cowell Singing Evaluation App

Image via Flickr by Gloss411

Every season of American Idol begins with a stream of auditions that are just plain sad. Some people think they can sing and nobody has ever told them the truth about how they sound. People could use the Simon Cowell app to record their singing and then get honest feedback. Simon Cowell is brutally honest, so this app could save hundreds if not thousands of people from being embarrassed each year. And you will be a hero for creating it.

The Mood Reading App

Image via Flickr by Rubygirl Jewelry

Do you remember those fun mood rings from the 70s? Well, what if there was an app that could do basically the same thing? For instance, the background screen on your phone could change colors based on your mood. It would read the temperature of your hands and adjust the colors accordingly. Then, the app could do other things too, like show encouraging messages when it detects you’re sad or in a bad mood. It would make the world a happier place and you could take partial credit for it.

The X-Ray Vision App

X-Ray vision would have so many uses. You could quickly check for broken bones before going to an urgent care facility, look through the wall of your baby’s bedroom to make sure he or she is still sleeping, or just see what is going on in the other rooms of your house. Of course, this app will never exist because of the privacy issues that would arise. It still would be pretty cool, though.

The Pet Translation App

There are translation apps for almost every language, but not any for pets. Wouldn’t it be nice to know what your dog or cat is thinking or saying? A pet translation app would help prevent potty accidents, empty water dishes, and so much more. All you’d have to do is record what your dog or cat is doing and wait for a response.

Some of these apps are a little far-fetched, but they’d be fun. Do you have any awesome ideas for smartphone apps you would develop?

The answer depends entirely on what you plan on using your laptop for, as well as where you will be using it. What’s the difference between a netbook vs. laptop? Despite how similar they might appear at first glance, there are many features that distinguish a netbook from a laptop.

Size matters

On the outside of the machines, the most visually defining difference between the two is the screen size. Netbook screens range between seven to 12 inches, while laptop screens are anywhere from 13 to over 18 inches long. Screen size isn’t the only difference between netbooks and laptops. The resolution also varies from 1024 x 600 WSGVA to 1366 x 768 HD.

Keyboards on a netbook are also smaller than those on a full-sized laptop and often need to configure the keys in different positions in order to make them all fit. Many laptops offer CD-DVD or Bluray drives, making it possible to watch movies, listen to music, play games, and install software, which also saves space on the hard drive. Another important difference between full sized laptops vs. netbooks is that laptops also contain better speakers, often stereo or Dolby, for audio playback, whereas netbooks usually have only mono and sometimes stereo speakers.

The most significant difference can be found inside the machines themselves. The power and capabilities of a laptop surpass that of a netbook. While netbooks are increasing their capabilities with every new generation, the power of a full laptop, which can handle up to an i7 core processor, is much higher. This is due largely to the smaller size of a netbook compared to a laptop. Since it is smaller, there is less room inside of it to include the necessary specifications to match full-sized laptops.

A laptop can provide space for larger hard drives, meaning more space to hold your information and more ram, which contributes to a faster, smoother operation of the machine and dedicated graphics capabilities which renders images more quickly and easily than the integrated graphics that a netbook is limited to.

No matter what the device you’re using, you need to find a size that fits. If your Mac is a little book then why not look at selling your Macbook Air online to make extra cash? You can always put this money towards buying a more compact laptop or netbook.

Holding the edge

There are two areas in which netbooks hold a distinct advantage over laptops. The first is portability. Netbooks are smaller and lighter. They are more capable of being transported faster to more locations than full-sized laptops. The second area is the matter of cost. Netbooks offer less impressive specifications and fewer features. However, this allows them to sell for less than full-sized laptops. The difference in netbook vs. laptop prices vary from around $250-500 for netbooks compared to anywhere around $450-2,000+. If you want to spend only what you need, think about how much you want to do with your computer, how quickly and where you would like to be able to work. If you are more interested in surfing the web, checking your email and other, simpler tasks, then you can save your money by purchasing a netbook. However, if you are looking to use more intensive programs, then it would be worth it to spend the extra money on a machine that can live up to the job you need it for.

Author Bio: Colin Fry is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Denver. He is a passionate writer and is always looking to perfect and expand his craft. No matter the subject, Colin enjoys communicating new ideas and information to his audience – whether that’s comparing a laptop and netbook or offering advice on where to sell Macbook Air and other unwanted models to purchase newer versions.

Top Marketing Strategies Learned from Pepsi is a post from BlogoTech

Although still being outsold my Coca-cola in most countries of the world, Pepsi has been able to maintain and grow into one of the largest soft drink companies out there. With amazing marketing campaigns, Pepsi still thrives as a business and will continue to see more and more people buy their products. Pepsi was first created in 1893 and was named “brad’s Drink”, which was soon re-named to Pepsi-Cola. After some time, in 1961, the name was shortened to just Pepsi as we all know and love. There have been many different notable strategies that can be looked at when it comes to talking about the marketing success of Pepsi, so let’s review a few of their past successful strategies.

Loyalty Programs

In 1996, Pepsi launched the first loyalty program to ever hit north America, which was called Pepsi Stuff, and gave its customers the chance to get items such as hats, T-shirts, bags, jackets, and many other type of items for drinking Pepsi. This was a new and innovative way to have customers try their products, but also to keep them coming back to get better rewards. This program went on for about 12 years as a successful campaign, and then was replaced with other loyalty programs. It was, and still is, a proven way to keep customers interested. Give them something in return for their multiple purchases from your company instead of just the original product or service. For more information about the Pepsi Stuff promotion, check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepsi_Stuff.

Countless amounts of other businesses went on to expand the loyalty program model to fit their own business needs, and became very successful in the process. Although not every business might be able to launch a program the size of what Pepsi did, they can all take some time to think how they could implement promotions like this to further their own sales and revenue. For example, when going to places that offer services such as a mechanic or beauty parlors, it is normal to see a promotion that will give you a free service or a free clothing item with the company logo on it after you use their services at regular price a certain amount of times. Just give your customer more than the original product or services, and they will be more likely to come back.

Slogans

Slogans have always been a major part in most large company’s marketing strategies. The slogans can target a certain demographic or can be used as a wide net for almost all people. They are catchy, hard to forget, and will keep the company in the consumers thoughts. Pepsi has came out with an abundance of slogans over the years that have been really helpful to their company. Starting with their first slogan in 1939 “Twice as Much for a Nickel”, they saw a large increase in sales and have ever since been changing and coming up with new slogans for their customers.

Any company can come up with a unique and catchy slogan to attract new customers and keep current customers thinking about them. Even without a Pepsi size advertising budget, having a slogan and getting it to people is not a hard task to do. By putting it on business cards, social networking sites, and other low costing advertising services, people will be introduced to it and will have a better impression of your company.

Going Head to Head with Competitors

Coca Cola and Pepsi have always been rivals within the drink industry and although Coca Cola continues to sell more products than Pepsi, it should be recognized that Pepsi has been able to keep up and use the rivalry in their favor. In the 1970′s Pepsi started a campaign called “The Pepsi Challenge”. This was a taste test done by consumers while they were blind folded, and the results had suggested that Pepsi was picked as a better tasting beverage than Coke was. Pepsi then used these results to market to Coca Cola drinkers to make the switch over to Pepsi for a better experience. Pepsi saw a large increase of sales, so they expanded the campaign nationwide. By publicly acknowledging the rivalry between the two companies, Pepsi was able to convert consumers, increase sales, and increase its brand as a dominant soft drink maker. Ever since the challenge started, more and more companies use this model to hopefully see the same results and grow their company and customer base.

Although you might not be able to launch a marketing challenge there are many other benefits that come along with being involved in your competition. By studying their marketing strategies and fully understand why their products or services are successful, you can learn a lot of tips and tricks that you could use within your own company.

Niche Marketing

Marketing towards a more specific demographics can prove to come with a real boost in sales. In the 1940′s Pepsi saw that their current marketing strategy was advertising to a general audience, and because racism was still a big issue, most of the commercials that were made, appealed to Caucasian people only. By the late 1940′s they had hired a team of 12 African Americans which made advertisements specifically for their demographic, shining a better light on them. Although Pepsi was discriminated against for promoting these advertisements they continued to see a large amount of sales increases. A little while after the 1950′s started the company had to stop the promotions due to the tensions it was bringing against them, but learned a valuable lesson in marketing to a specific target audience.

Any business can use this lesson in their marketing strategies, for example, if you are selling services as a Tennis coach, you could target young ages from 7-13 and specialize in youth training. Every business type is going to have a different niche market to focus, but finding the right one for your business can make a really big difference.

There are so many other different marketing lessons that can be learned from Pepsi, but these are just a few to get you on the right path.

This tutorial is going to browse through just how to do that. First you need to register as an Apple developer – this is free. Registering as an iOS developer however, costs you $99 USD. If you are a complete beginner, you will need to go to the iOS dev center and register.

Create a New ID

Creating a new, clean ID is suggested. It keeps your professional and personal lives different. You need to submit the required information like email and password. Use an email ID that you often check. Fill in your personal information on the registration page. On the next page you need to fill in your professional profile.

The Legal Agreement

Then comes the legal agreement. It doesn’t hurt to read all the legalities. Then check the email address you used to register. Click the link on that email to confirm the email address. This makes you an Apple developer. However, if you want to begin developing apps and submitting them to the app store you need to give Apple money!

Shelling Out $99USD

Enrolling in Apple’s iOS developer program will cost you $99USD per year. Through your Apple developer ID you can join the iOS developer program. You can register as an individual or company. Enter billing information correctly in the forthcoming steps. Then select the iOS developer program. Then click continue to move on to the license agreement.

As you move forward in the process enter your credit card address as your shipping address. Click “continue,” enter credit card details and click “continue” again. After registering as an iOS developer, Apple takes a day to process your information. You will then receive two emails from Apple. Now you can download Xcode and log into the iOS development center.

Several Things to Do At the Development Center

There are plenty of things to focus on once you log in to the iOS development center. You will use iTunes connect to submit your app. Further you need to generate certificates and register your device. Once your device is registered, you need to register an app ID. Once you are an official iOS developer take a moment to congratulate yourself. Then begin submitting apps to the app store.

Getting Apps Approved

Apps need approval from Apple. Even if rejected, apps may be distributed ad-hoc. NDA’s forbid developers from publishing their rejection notices. The second part of making apps available is configuring apps to run on registered devices. Use iTunes connect to send Apple payment information. Then submit apps to Apple to get them approved.

Open Xcode and enter your iOS developer information. If you have an app of your own test it on the device. Test the app on the oldest version of iOS you want supported. After going through a host of procedures you are finally at the stage where you are ready to deploy your apps on iTunes connect. Accept the TOS and submit the app. When you are doing this you need to navigate through a number of screens.

Before Submitting the App

You will need the apps, name, description, icon and screenshot for submitting the app. As you move further you can choose the release date for the app. You will be prompted to enter keywords later on which are essential to your app being discovered. Once you have submitted your app with Xcode the wait for approval begins. The app store is one of the great internet deals out there. It has made many people millionaires.

If you’re the money-savvy kind like us, you probably think you shouldn’t be paying for messaging apps. So we figure that you’d like to hear of these 10 awesome free alternatives to WhatsApp. Do you?

1. LINE

LINE supports iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry devices. Using LINE, you can connect with other LINE users who are on your phone contacts list. You can also respond to your LINE messages by registering your number with an email account and using a PC or MacOS program. This allows you to text message your contacts via your computer and also call them using a net connection.

Download – Android | iOS

2. KakaoTalk Messenger

With KakaoTalk Messenger, you can chat with other KakaoTalk users among your phone contacts, once you’re registered for the service. You can also conduct group chats, share your calendar and contact information with others, take audio notes and send pictures using this app. You can also call other Kakao Talk users via the Internet. This app supports multiple platforms and devices, such as the Windows Phone, Blackberry, Android and iOS.

Download – Android | iOS

3. Skype

Skype recently allowed users to merge their contacts with those from their old MSN and Hotmail accounts. This move allowed users all over the world to connect with their longtime friends over Skype. With Skype on your phone, you can now message and call all your contacts for free. Here’s another advantage. WhatsApp doesn’t need you to approve contacts, but Skype does. So that means you’ll have only approved contacts on your Skype. Skype supports Windows Phone, Blackberry, and Android and iOS phones.

Download – Android | iOS

4. Groupme

Groupme is the perfect messaging app for group chat needs. You can send messages to your entire group via SMS too, using this app. Since this app requires a 3G connection, the facility to send group messages over SMS works perfectly for group members who don’t have 3G access. The non-3G recipients will have to pay a small fee to receive group messages though. Registration and logging in are done via code verification, which keeps the fear of spammers away. This app supports iOS and Android phones, and also Windows Phone and all BlackBerry devices.

Download – Android | iOS

5. ChatON

This Samsung app allows only messaging; it has no calling features. Sign in with your Samsung account or use your name to log in to the app to start. Once you verify your phone number, ChatON will evaluate which of your phone contacts are logged on to ChatON. It then displays a list of fellow users that you can chat with using ChatON. ChatON supports iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry devices.

Download – Android | iOS

6. WeChat

Apart from text chat facilities, WeChat allows you to video chat with other users and also make calls. That’s not all; you can connect with your email and Facebook account so that more of your friends can find you on WeChat. You can share WeChat contacts with friends, and also your current location, and pictures. This popular messaging app comes to us from China. You register for the app by providing your phone number and validate your registration using the verification code the app generates. This app supports Android, iPad, iPhone and Windows Phone.

Download – Android | iOS

7. Viber

Viber supports several additional devices, which is why it’s a very popular alternative to WhatsApp. Viber works on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, Nokia and Bada devices. Another reason for its popularity is that Viber’s functions change according to the device. The interface is simple but excellently designed. When a new user from your phone’s contact list joins Viber, you’re not only notified immediately, but are also provided the option to chat immediately with the new user.

This may not just be imagination. It has been estimated that by 2015, there will be one mobile device for every person on the planet. These devices allow users to access the Internet from any place without the need for a personal computer. It is important to understand the difference in viewing experience between mobile websites and desktop versions.

Experts estimate that more people already access the Internet via a mobile device than through a personal computer. Since 2010, mobile web searches have increased by 400 percent. This can open up a whole new market to businesses that have mobile sites that are user friendly. Here are some tips for optimizing a mobile website.

Keep Navigation Easy and Simple

When selling a product or service, eliminate the number of hoops customers need to jump through to complete an order. Mobile users do not have the benefit of a mouse so they use their fingers and thumbs to navigate pages. They also have to rely on virtual keyboards. Make sure forms are short and provide drop down boxes to assist users.

Make the navigation of the site as simple as possible by limiting scrolling, adding a search functionality and provide clearly-marked buttons that will allow them to backtrack or head to the home page. The buttons should be large enough and spaced far enough apart to avoid accidentally hitting the wrong one.

Include Your Location and Contact Details

Be sure the vital information concerning the business is prominently displayed on the home page. This includes address, phone number and hours of operation. Provide a map and directions. It might also be helpful to display GPS coordinates. Mobile users likely will not be familiar with the area where the business is located so make the site as helpful as possible.

Ensure Seamless Integration

The mobile and desktop sites may have small differences, but they should work seamlessly with each other. Items that are saved in shopping carts on one site should also appear in the other. Key features should be maintained in both whenever possible. The same information regarding products or services should remain the same.

Focus on Speed

Mobile users have an expectation of fast-loading websites and will not want to wait more than a few seconds. Smartphones actually have slower download speeds than desktops, so use smaller images or even use HTML and CSS coding instead. Fewer pages will also help this speed.

Avoid Flash

Avoid using Flash, because some mobile devices are not compatible with it.

There’s more to creating a mobile website than making sure the content fits onto a smaller screen. The mobile site should be a partner with the desktop site, but must also take into consideration the different ways smartphone users access the Internet.

Author Bio

Simon Phillips develops mobile websites and runs TouchLogic.co.uk, a British mobile marketing company.

Loss of data can have severe implications for your business and result in the re-allotment of valuable resources to retrieve, reconstruct or repair the said data or even replace the existing faulty security measures with enhanced ones. Also in danger is your business’s name if a breach in security becomes generally known and you have to take measures to re-establish your reputation.

Threats to the Security of a Data Center

The data center of a business faces a variety of potential hazards. There is of course an ever-present risk imposed by natural disasters. In recent times there has been an increase in terrorist activities all over the world some of which have also targeted important businesses. But the most prevailing and universal risk that data centers world over face every day is from corporate espionage. Your data center and its IT apparatus is at a constant risk of unlawful theft if not well secured to the best of your abilities by utilizing the most advanced security and encryption tools.

Securing Your Location

The most effective security measures are the ones that are incorporated into the initial design of the data center instead of being put in place as addendum. First and foremost you should take external measures that will ensure safety and privacy for the data center’s site and keep intruders at bay. Here are 5 key points to keep in mind when selecting the location of your data center building to physically safeguard the property.

Select an appropriate location. The site of your data center should be far away from any main road and should ideally not be situated near chemical plants or airports and in areas that are highly prone to recurrent episodes of hurricanes, floods or earthquakes.

Build resistant walls. Appropriate consideration should be given to the walls enclosing your data center. Solid concrete walls are not only inexpensive but can even endure explosives.

Discard any windows. Windows can compromise the security of your data center and should generally be avoided. However if you need windows in the break room then install resistant bullet-proof glass.

Utilize landscape features. Tall trees and thorny bushes are very effective from blocking passing eyes and thieving intruders. Bollard planters can also be placed around the property.

Stick to two entrances. A main entrance and an entry for loading at the back are safe, sufficient and also cost effective. This way you limit the access points to the interior of the center. As for fire exit doors, do not put in handles on the outer side.

Electronic Locking Mechanisms

The cabinets in your data center contain the entire equipment crucial to the workings of your business. Secure them with electro-mechanical locking mechanisms that prevent unauthorized access. These electronic locking systems when coupled with access control devices like digital card readers or fingerprint recognition software can ensure the security of your hardware.

Data center managers can also monitor activity by keeping track of the time and duration of access as well as note the credentials of the employee who has accessed the mechanism. All data pertaining to the locking mechanisms is recorded on the network and aids in speedy identification of breaches in security.

Data Monitoring and Encryption

Protection of the company’s personal information saved on the network is highly imperative. In order to prevent unwanted and corrupt data from entering your network you have to monitor what comes in and what goes out. Firewalls should be installed to prevent entry of harmful components while data encryption should be religiously practiced to shield data from prying eyes and prevent its manipulation.

Every data center manager is fully aware of just how important their job is to ensure the survival of a company and how critical the data that they are tasked with protecting is. Loss of data is an invariable source of worry as is any kind of physical damage the hardware on the data center may undergo. It would not be out of line to call the data center your company’s most important sector. Every day business activities can be carried on normally due to fully secured data centers without which any business could be in jeopardy.

The main reason behind Guest Posting is getting link through content, getting link through different authoritative website rather than one. With this technique you not only get the backlinks but also helps to improve your Search engine ranking and companies credibility within the industry. Before posting Guest Post to any Blog everyone checks the Page rank of websites. In SEO no doubt PR is matter. Page rank knows the importance of website in Google point of view. Normally guest Poster tries to avoid submitting posts to Low PR sites they always give first preference to High PR websites.

We knows authoritative websites highly qualified and well knowledge people involved for approving guest posts and its difficult to get post approved on High PR websites. Many authoritative high PR website like searchenginejournal, searchengineland take one month’s or sometime it will take also two months for approving our blog. Suppose you are full time guest blogger and try to post only authoritative websites then it’s difficult to approve your post because they only publish the best content and within months you hardly publish one or two article. Many sites wants sample of article that we wrote for another site and if you don’t have live guest posts then you might not be able to get published on that site. There are many low PR website accepts Guest Posts.

Following way you can analyze Low PR website

Social Media Existence

Some websites have very good in Social Media like Facebook, Twitter, Google +,LinkedIn. We know with the help of Social media we can reach millions of visitors within short time. They have enough network in Social Media. If you submit guest post in this websites then you will also get the benefit of this network like you can increase your post sharing, liking and also commenting.

Search engine optimized

Check the website that have needful SEO plugin added or not because well SEO optimized websites have a higher chance to come in SERP. This will also helps to increase traffic of your websites.

Maintenance of Blog

Blog maintenance includes design, look and feel and content updating. Make sure whatever site you selected for guest blogging that site uploading content frequently like checked the date when he last updated. If no one is updated site regularly then Google not crawled that websites daily. So checked the content frequency.

Analyze the content

Check content of a website that content is copied from another website, content is relevant to blog topic. There are many online website available in Google like Copyscape or another way is copy two sentence from the blog and pasted in Google. We will see the from where he can copied the content.

So, these are the tricks I have used for analyzing low PR website before approaching to guest post? Do you know the different one? Let us know in the comments section!
