(NASDAQ: GRMN), the global leader in satellite navigation, announced today that Learjet, a subsidiary of Bombardier, has selected the Garmin G5000 integrated avionics system for the Vision Flight Deck* used in the new Learjet 70* and Learjet 75 * business jets. The G5000 system incorporates high-resolution widescreen displays and touchscreen controls to bring leading edge technology, new safety features and outstanding reliability to these new Bombardier Learjet* models.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The Learjet 70 and Learjet 75 aircraft cockpits feature three high-resolution, wide aspect ratio displays. All of the displays have multi-pane display capability that effectively doubles the number of different presentations that the crew can control and view at the same time. This allows for primary flight information to be displayed to both the pilot and co-pilot along with four other viewing windows capable of showing moving maps, charts, checklists, aircraft system synoptics pages, TAWS, TCAS, flight planning information, live weather radar, and other broadcast weather products.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Two touchscreen controllers provide a centralized and intuitive crew interface to the system, giving pilots rapid access to the flight information they want. The graphical icons, audio and visual feedback, and animation reduce the potential for crew input entry errors.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;On the G5000’s widescreen displays, Garmin’s Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT™) presents near life-like 3D depictions of terrain, obstacles, traffic and runway environment so that the image on the display replicates what pilots would see outside the cockpit on a clear day. SVT works seamlessly to alert pilots of potential ground hazards by displaying terrain and obstacles which pose a threat to the aircraft with appropriate TAWS alert coloring, as well as voice alerts.&lt;/p&gt;

The G1000 upgrade includes the GFC 700™ three-axis, fully digital, dual channel, fail safe automatic flight control system (AFCS). The GFC 700 includes features such as coupled LPV approaches, vertical navigation, and flight level change (FLC).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The King Air 300/350 STC also includes approval for Garmin’s Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT™) that presents a 3D depiction of terrain, obstacles, traffic and the runway environment on the G1000’s PFD so that the image replicates what pilots would see outside the cockpit on a clear day. Land, water and sky are clearly differentiated with shading and textures that are similar to the topographical colors found on the MFD moving map. SVT works seamlessly to alert pilots of potential ground hazards by displaying terrain and obstacles which pose a threat to the aircraft with appropriate TAWS alert coloring, as well as voice alerts. SVT also includes pathways (or Highway-In-The-Sky) to help pilots stay on course when flying en route legs, VNAV legs, GPS/WAAS vertical approach procedures, ILS approach procedures, and arrival and departure procedures. SVT is certified and available immediately for King Air 300/350 owners and is an optional upgrade.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Standard features of the G1000 avionics suite include LPV approaches, dual integrated solid-state attitude and heading reference systems (AHRS), dual integrated digital air data computers and Class-B terrain awareness and warning system (TAWS). “European pilots have asked Garmin to find ways to provide information electronically that helps enhance situational awareness. With these new electronic charts, pilots not only benefit from a less-cluttered cockpit, but they allow for more immediate access to the information pilots need to make good decisions,” said Carl Wolf, Garmin’s vice president of aviation sales and marketing.
&lt;p&gt;Garmin has partnered with Jeppesen® to integrate their European VFR terminal charts into the aera 795/796 aviation portables. By loading the VFR terminal charts on to the Garmin portable, pilots meet the requirement for carrying charts, but without the burden of having additional paper in the cockpit. The database covers over 2,200 airports in 29 European countries and contains colored Visual Approach, Landing and Area Charts, as well as general- and country-related text sections such as Regulations, Communications, Meteorology, Aerodrome Directory and more for the planning and execution of flights within Europe under Visual Flight Rules.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Garmin also introduced a new European SafeTaxi database, offering geo-referenced airport diagrams for nearly 500 European airports in 15 different countries. SafeTaxi automatically identifies runways, taxiways, FBOs, and hangars, as well as the aircraft&amp;#39;s location on the field. Because SafeTaxi is geo-referenced, pilots will experience enhanced situational awareness by seeing their aircraft move along the taxiway diagram on the navigation screen. European SafeTaxi is available today as an update option for select Garmin portables, the GTN 650/750 series and the G3X glass flight display. Within weeks, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is expected to approve European Safe Taxi for Garmin’s G500, G600, G500H, G1000, G1000H, G900X, G950, and GMX 200 platforms.&lt;/p&gt;

This includes an integrated AM/FM radio and CD player as well as several interfaces that allow user to play music from external devices such as a mobile phone or iPod, including a USB and AUX jack, Bluetooth and a SD card slot. Also included is an integration with Pandora (via a connected smartphone&lt;a href="#_ftn1"&gt;[1]&lt;/a&gt;) that allows users to easily browse and select their personalized radio stations, skip a track or give a song a thumbs-up or down.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Navigation: &lt;/strong&gt;The system integrates&lt;strong&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;Garmin’s intuitive and award-winning navigation, providing premium road guidance with spoken turn-by-turn directions and street names, PhotoReal Junction View with lane guidance, optional traffic via TMC, speed limit and current speed displays, millions of points of interest, a customizable data menu and many other features. The navigation system has access to vehicle speed sensors to provide precise location information even when a GPS signal is not available, for example in tunnels. When switching to other menus, such as the music player, navigation directions will continue and visual cues will be displayed at the top of the screen. Map updates can easily be downloaded to a SD card from a Garmin Web portal.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Full voice control: &lt;/strong&gt;Users can control the system with voice commands, which helps reduce driver distraction. This includes all the integrated functions, such as navigation, radio, CD player and Pandora. Garmin’s one-shot address entry technology allows user to speak a full address at once without going through multiple steps. Additionally, the system includes steering wheel control buttons on selected vehicles to activate voice recognition or directly control certain functions, such as the volume, switching between radio stations or accepting and ending calls.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Connected services:&lt;/strong&gt; Real-time information, such as traffic, dynamic parking, weather and fuel prices, will be available through Garmin Smartphone Link&lt;a href="#_ftn2"&gt;[2]&lt;/a&gt;. This app can easily link an Android phone to the Suzuki infotainment system via Bluetooth. The app brings Garmin’s industry-leading aviation features to tablets and smart phones, offering pilots complete navigation, trip planning, DUAT(S) filing, weather and electronic flight bag capabilities.&lt;br /&gt;
