The Deal- Our Structure, Our Substance??

2015-01-25T06:59:00.001-08:00

Our world and our structure and substance has changed or more importantly evolved. In our expanded world we are proud of the personal evolution. It is a personal accomplishment that we glorify. Yet if we say it is so, it is so. That is the conundrum that has shaped our new fangled world. A world that we trot out from time to time as a trophy. We're proud of the evolution, the accomplishment. We think!

Time has a way of judging not only our evolution, but how that evolution affects our world. There is no greater test of confirmation than time. Time reveals everything and time uncovers frailties, time corrects mistakes and time confirms success. We should not take it lightly, you see our evolution will be analyzed and evaluated one way or another and more likely, it will be an eye opening moment whether we are here or not.

Obama's Executive Action on Immigration Is Nothing New

2014-11-21T12:29:00.001-08:00

"Pass A Bill"............President Obama

President Obama announced an Executive Action on Immigration last night. This is nothing new, President Roosevelt, President Bush are among Presidents who have announced Executive Action. This is literally nothing new.

Couple this with the fact the Republicans have not passed a bill since it seems like, the stone age. Which begs the question why? To find the answer you will need to request an explanation from both House and Senate Republicans.

The entire congressional and senate arm of our government is broken. Not because of Democrats, no more likely because of Republicans,

The Deal- The Turnaround

2014-10-31T17:07:00.001-07:00

You know the times when institutions or earthy powers take over. Yet you follow our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Lord already warned us that in this world that there will be trouble. Yes we know He is right, yet it will not stop us from following Him and growing in His word. Growing in His way. If we are patient and never let up from studying the Word, we will eventually witness a turnaround in our circumstances, and in our life.

God likes to surprise us, are you ready for your turnaround?

Millennials Are Done With Voice Mail

2014-10-28T23:36:00.000-07:00

This story is part of the New Boom series on millennials in America.

We've all heard that automated voice mail lady, telling us what to do after the beep. But fewer people than ever are leaving messages. And the millennials, they won't even listen to them — they'd much rather receive a text or Facebook message.

"I did have at one point in time like 103 unheard messages," says 31-year-old Antonia Kidd.

The New York Times reported in June that the phone service Vonage saw a significant drop in voice mail retrievals over the past year.

Kidd's main problem with voice mail is that it's time consuming, and she's tired of listening to butt-dials and rambling messages. If someone really wants to get hold of her, there are lots of ways to do it, she says."Wherever we're talking to them, we're hearing the same things, which is: When it comes to voice mail, they're just over it," says Jane Buckingham, a trend analyst at Trendera.

"I guess I usually just assume that it's probably not that important if you didn't text me, and you didn't send me a message on Facebook," Kidd says.

Many 18- to 34-year-olds feel that way. But step inside the office, and the old rules still apply. There's no escaping the beep.

"When you say, 'Hello, my name is,' smile when you say it, and also, sit up straight," says Patricia Napier-Fitzpatrick, founder of The Etiquette School of New York.

She teaches college students and young professionals how to behave in the business world, including how to leave a proper voice mail.

"The fact that we have four generations in the workplace, and they're going to be there for some time, the younger generations — the millennials, the Y generation — they're going to need to adapt," Napier-Fitzpatrick says.

But that doesn't stop some millennials like 26-year-old Nick Sirianno from feeling that voice mail is clearly a thing of the past.

"It might evolve into something kind of special and exciting," he says. "Like a telegram once was."

Buckingham, the trend expert, says that millennials are just doing what works for them.

"Everyone criticizes the millennials for being the 'me' generation and being so entitled," she says. "I don't think they're so entitled. I think they're just incredibly pragmatic. So for them if a voice mail isn't practical — which most of the time it isn't — and there's a more practical way of delivering the same information, they're gonna go for that."

The Deal-Talking Loud, Saying Nothing

2014-08-27T04:52:00.000-07:00

From Jon Courson's Devotional

He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

Proverbs 13:3

President Calvin “Silent Cal” Coolidge was asked why he spoke so little. “I never have regretted anything I didn’t say,” he answered. How true. We often regret what we do say, but rarely what we don’t say. That is why James said it is better to be a listener than a talker (verse 1:19).

It would do us well first to think about what we’re about to say . . .

T is it truthful?

H is it helpful?

I is it inspiring?

N is it needful?

K is it kind?

If what you’re speaking is all of those things, go ahead and speak. Otherwise, keep quiet.

The Deal- It Is Already Done!

2014-07-05T18:57:00.000-07:00

Our eyes are blind. We think we have to perform some sort of action, make it happen. We feel we must do something before The Lord moves in our lives. Never mind that we already planted the seed of worship and praise. Never mind that we nurtured and grew the seed within us through the WORD. That is powerful! You see The Lord already provided for you and if you open your eyes you will see it. It's already done! All we have to do is ask in Jesus Name and diligently stay in the WORD.

You see we operate in a human realm of reality and we can only SEE if we trust the promises of Jesus. It is what it is!

God may not get there when you want Him to, but He is always right on time! The next time you feel discouraged. The next time you feel alone, the next time you feel God is not hearing you, Just remember this……. It is already done! Just Wait On The Lord, stay in the word and watch the blessings begin to flow.

It's already done!

The Deal- The Ultimate Controller

2014-06-21T06:42:00.000-07:00

Have you ever tried to analyze what will happen in any given situation in your life? Perhaps it is a situation at your job and you find your self looking at your inner "slide show", that mysteriously developed into a full blown movie. No we have not seen the trailer! We are very creative in that regard. You wrote the script you know, never mind that it is only in your mind. However it constanly changes before you've even planned the final chapter. In the end the entire outcome has absolutely nothing to do with the crafted script that you devised.

It is at these times that we learn that we are only human, we can't do any of these things..........

Walk on water

Control people or outcomes

Predict the future

Solve the problems of man

Guarantee that every situation will have a happy ending

Yeah it is a let down but the takeaway is that we must learn to let go and let be. What will be is out of our control and we can never control it with our thoughts or wishes. We must learn to do what is in our power and give the rest to God. We must learn to let go and Let God be who he is. He is the ultimate controller and has your best interest at heart!

The Deal- Tell Somebody About The Lord

2014-06-08T18:28:00.000-07:00

Understand that it is essential that we learn doing our walk to show compasssion for one another. It requires more than just lip service, it requires action. We simply do not show enough of it. Many people are faced with challenges they cannot endure without the aid of God. We must learn to to show compassion and we must spread the word of God to those who do not know Him and His son Jesus Christ. Show compassion and tell somebody about The Lord.

The Deal- On The Will of God

2014-01-18T11:19:00.000-08:00

http:/ourtravelsalongtheway.com

The things of this earth occupy our minds, particulary to the point that it absorbs us, and distracts us from our purpose. To every man there is a purpose, that is to know The Lord Jesus and seek His word and understand that He is in us and we are in Him. That is our purpose. Not some unobtainable earthly goal, but rather to be more like Christ and to honor Him in this way. Know this, you will enjoy unspeakable riches if and when you do this, nothing can quench your thirst for the good life here on earth and beyond than to know The Lord Jesus and live according to His purpose!
