For instance, a Tornado is usually black while a Blizzard is White and we are not sure what color the Government is. A small rain shower can get you wet, and an ice storm is slippery. Rules and regulations, while needed are often nothing more than attempts at stealing what little freedom we have left.

inxs@gondtc.com (R. Should they be?

Are Incumbents worried about the election cycle this year? Should they be? That all depends my friends on how quickly America forgets in the Political Season. In a country that tired of war after being attacked, so quickly, how then are we to judge whether or not the US electorate will not forget the very nature of the current Congress that produced this blogs question in the first place?

When it comes time to pull the lever, if they actually do that anywhere any more, will the person pulling the lever remember what happened in the last 2 years? Do they remember Obama trying to out spend FDR to try to get the economy on a positive track. How did it work for FDR? It did not, unemployment in 1932 was over 23% but in 1938 it was 19% and still 14% in 1940. We forget that it was WWII that pulled us out of the Depression state of the 1930's. Obama's policies of pouring even more money into the sink hole will just undermine the economy for more years in the future. We are looking at around 9 – 10% unemployment for some time. The president has no power authorized by the constitution to manage the economy. It is absurd that any one untrained man could do such a thing at all. Obama has increased the federal deficit by over 1 Trillion dollars! That cost is $42,370.55 per person, for you married couples that is $84,741! Do you have that in your pocket? This is not any more Obama's fault that it is George W. Bush and the Congress and Senate. They are all complicit in this. They all have to go.

When it comes to our esteemed representatives we assume we send them to Washington to do our bidding, not theirs. They are to look back to their State and districts where they come from and do what the people want. We did not want the Health Care Bill they pushed through but we got it anyway. Since the Passage of the bill we find out that the cost will be at least 500 Billion more over the next ten years and a whopping 1.5 Trillion over the following decade. That is 2 Trillion more than health care costs us now! Will the electorate remember that?

The electorate is fickle, they put us in this mess, they can take us out but will they? Today is primary day and what does it have to offer us? Time will tell but by the end of this primary season there will be a lot of new faces, but will it be enough? Last month, Sen. Arlen Specter was ousted by Rep. Joe Sestak in the Democratic primary in Pennsylvania, Tea Party-supported Rand Paul won the Republican nomination for the Senate in Kentucky. Sen. Blanche Lincoln has a Democratic primary runoff against Lt. Gov. Bill Halter after she failed to win 50 percent of the vote. This is one southern democrat incumbent who most likely will not be going back to Washington! Even with former President Clinton behind her!

California, Nevada and South Carolina have some high-profile elections as well.

In California two political newcomers are in the lead for US Senate and Governator. Carly Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett Packard as well as the former adviser to John McCain's 2008 presidential run, has a significant lead over former Rep. Tom Campbell in the Republican primary to challenge California Sen. Barbara Boxer in November. The race for governor finds a business tycoon has the lead for the Republicans. Meg Whitman, Former eBay CEO, looks to have bounced back in the polls from the attacks on her immigration stance from California Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner.

In Nevada's Republican Senate primary, Tea Party-supported Sharron Angle moved to the front in the polls, over former state Republican Party Chairwoman Sue Lowden and Las Vegas businessman Danny Tarkanian. They are hoping to go against Navada's Harry Reid.

One can only hope that Obama's mismanagement of the Gulf Oil Spill, his blow-off of Arlington on memorial day and general lack of anything that resembles a Commander in chief will only help those trying to end this very dark time in our Nations History.

If the conservatives can make big inroads into the Obama Power Structure, then we may see Obama retire instead of trying to win another election. If you fail at your job chances are you will not feel a lot of confidence in trying to do it again, we can only hope.

inxs@gondtc.com (R. It is very important!

I wonder how many people who voted for Obama actually knew his background? How many cared? Was it just a feeling of “we need change?” I cant stand whats going on? Weary of War? Or just weary of Politics? Cant stand the hostile Dialog? Sorry but none of these reasons qualify for abdicating your responsibility to be an informed electorate. The very hope of Democracy is based on an informed electorate. What does this mean? Simply you need to know the candidates, the issues and what you think about them in order to pick the correct man and or issue.

So did anyone actually think that Obama came out of nowhere? That just because he said there would be change, it would happen? Would it be the change that the electorate wanted? Obama in years past was not on the side of reformers in Chicago who were trying to change that corrupt political landscape. Obama came down firmly for the Daley organization. Did you know that before you voted? I am sure you heard about Jeremiah Wright, Father Michael Pfleger, William Ayers and Antoin Rezko. Did you think these were just people who were around during the same time as Obama? Just coincidence? Did you know that Obama chose to associate with these people? Do you know why these people are dangerous to the United States? Did you know the first election that Obama won was unopposed? Did you know he was involved with the discrediting of petition signers for his opponent that kept him from running? What I do not understand is how any one could miss this and a lot more. Obama ran on a platform that was totally the opposite of what he had done the decades before he began his run for the White house.

Obama kept reminding us of the importance of transparency in government and he was right, he just never bothered to follow through with it. Remember when he said on inauguration day “We will publish all non-emergency legislation to the website for five days, and allow the public to review and comment before the President signs it.” He broke this promise with the first law he signed! Remember how he told you that President Bush administration was the most secretive ever? Turns out he couldn't hold a candle to Obama and his bunch. They have denied more freedom of Information act requests than Bush, have held less Presidential news conferences than Bush did. Remember the promise to broadcast health care negotiations on CSPAN? Ever See One? Thought so. By the way what about the secret back door deals to get the Health care measure passed? For Obama to even an untrained eye its business Chicago Style.

Why do so many still seem to like him? The answer is complex, mixed in Race and creed. I never did like him as a candidate. One look into his eyes when he spoke belied a very angry man. If you want to know what someone is thinking just look into the eyes, they can tell you a lot. He looked like an angry man. One who at any moment would loose his cool and come unglued. I can not wait for the tell all books to let us know what the White House was really like inside with him at the helm. A few recent headlines give a hint at his real demeanor. President Obama says he is Furious about the Oil Spill cleanup process. Today a Furious President is canceling his schedule to deal with the spill.

He has been pretty unable to do anything for any grave situation that has come up in the last year or to deal with it in a Presidential way. It has become slip up after slip up. It seems to me the only way Obama can effectively work is by secret initiative as he did in the health care debacle. Maybe he needs to work out an "under the desk" deal to stop the oil spill in the gulf, or to deal with the Iranians or the Israelis. He sure seems to be effective as a manipulator and not so much as a manager. Gee, that is just what we were told during the election, that Obama had no experience in management. Guess he proved that correctly a time or two!

Here is the deal the Presidents approval rating is down to about 47% Depending on the Poll, from a high of about 65%. That in a bout a year and a half. I still don't think those numbers are that high for him. When I ask people about him time and again there is no support at all but then I live in a very conservative state, with good job numbers, positive balance in the states coffers and low crime rates.
With set back after setback in the news, Health care costs with the new Healthcare bill are going higher and higher and higher, and we haven't even started the program yet! You have the accusations of impropriety in offering a Job to Sestak via Clinton. That could turn out to be a big issue that will make Watergate look like a First Grade Picnic. Where are the Tax cuts for small Business. Where are the Tax cuts for college tuition? How is that stimulus package working for you. It seems the only success this current Administration has had is getting the Health Care bill passed, and that is so disliked by the American People that he will most likely loose big at the polls for his party this November! If this trend keeps up I do think he may have to resign and/or not run again in 2012.

Here is the deal, Democrat or Republican, independent or Libertarian, know your candidate and if you don't know then find out. As a country we cannot afford these kinds of missteps in the future. It is going to take a generation to get the Obama Administration Policies off our backs.

inxs@gondtc.com (R. Seems Arizona took a little while but they have seen the light and taken off the rainbow shades. They now see with a clarity that many in the United States cannot or do not want to see. They see how illegal immigration is not only ruing their state, costing them billions of dollars and a huge mess of litter to clean up but is a real chink in the armor of our defense against terrorists. Yes Obama there really are terrorists!

Most thoughtful Americans agree with the bill passed by Arizona, once they have read it and see it only says that Arizona law enforcement must follow Federal Law. Nothing more.

Arizona is now doing it again, doing it is what I mean by acting like a Real American and standing up for American rights against the onslaught of the World. Arizona is taking a stand in education now. They dare to say that an English Teacher must be able to speak and read English! How dare they?

Would your school district hire a Geography Teacher if they could not find Australia on a map? I really rather doubt that!

Would your school district hire a Math Teacher who cannot add and subtract correctly?

Would your school district hire a Science teacher if they did not know what an atom was?

Would your school district hire a Music teacher that could not sing or play any instrument or even read music? I dare say NO!

Would your school district hire a History Teacher that did not know anything about history? Ok OK! I hear you, yes, we know that there is a lot History rewriting going on from the left, but at least they know what History to rewrite!

So why is everyone getting on Arizona for making sure that Teachers who teach English actually can talk read and write English with proficiency

Just another example of of the left taking any issue and twisting to make it sound like it is something you would not want. The left has been in charge of our Education system for 40 + years and we are now paying a terrible price for their blasphemy.

According to the Labor Department last year, the price of education increased faster than the price of medical care over the last year! 27 out of the 30 years, the price of education grew faster than medical care, 29out of 30 years faster growth than inflation and medical actually beat inflation for 27 of those years, that is it did not grow faster than anything else. Did we hear any talk from the Obama crowd about a sweeping 6,000 page bill to fix the education Fiasco? No you did not, the agenda of the Obama crowd was health care takeover no matter what and even if it was not needed. It was not about saving money as they claim or we would have had a huge education bill instead. But the left knows that they own the education system in this country. The only challenge to this seems to come from Texas!.

Why is it when you start to speak of English only or no bi-lingual language for America the left comes unglued? It is simple, they have figured out that those new immigrants and the destitute of America can vote them into office. It surely would not be because they think uncontrolled unbridled immigration was good for us.

When will we wise up and understand what is happening to the United States, today, tomorrow or after we have become impotent like Europe? Arizona, it turns out is our last and of today, the best defense against illegal immigration. If it is that easy to get into America, don't you really think its that easy for a terrorist?

We are fighting these battles today because of a manifesto... the communist manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels written in the 1800's With the exception of a small handful, most countries that tried this route found out that socialism with totalitarianism is so repressive there ends up being too little production to sustain a country trough even the harshest of taxation policies. So in the early 20th century a more pure form, of socialism was trotted out. This was a bane to freedom loving peoples and countries of the world. It worked inside the frame work of freedom to defeat it. It relies on that fact that at our core as humans, the thought of getting something for free is a very strong motivation. The original Pilgrims who came to America to establish Plymouth Colony had a requirement that “all profits and benefits that are got by trade working, fishing or any other means” were to be “common stock” and “all such persons as are of this colony are to have their provisions out of the common stock!” Talk about your socialist agenda!

The pilgrims suffered a 66 day brutal-voyage, reached Cape-Cod in November of 1620, too late to build much of anything and they ended up living on the Mayflower and were hit with disease and only half remained alive by the spring. The Pilgrims struggled for two more years until William Bradford, their leader reorganized the colony on Biblical principles. Gone would be the communal (communist – socialist) system. Every one was given a parcel of land and they could keep all they produced. This caused a stunning change, everyone worked twice as hard and they never starved again. By 1624 they were able to start to export commodities. The very founding of America has a couple of lessons for us, Religious freedom was the reason for Plymouth and the change from socialism to capitalism was the reason they and us today flourish in the world.

So to all of you, a reminder that we were founded on Religious freedom, enjoy our bounties due to capitalism and need to impart that to the next generation via education. Listen to what our founding Father George Washington had to say:

“Government is not reason, it is not eloquence—it is a force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master; never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.”

“When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.” Benjamin Franklin

You might want to print them out and attach someplace you can see them everyday and use them to judge the news events that happen everyday.

inxs@gondtc.com (R. I mean not just devastation in the way we normally think about it but also in politics, education, science, technology. It almost seems that the World is ready to unhinge. I think it is. First lets look at some of these headlines and stories.

President Obama's top intelligence adviser, Dennis C. Blair, has resigned and most likely due to the many breaches of security we have faced in the last 6 months. It seems he might be a fall guy for the administration, but who really knows?

The Senate on Thursday passed the most sweeping regulatory overhaul of the financial system since the New Deal. It uses Government overreach to get in the way of private transactions, there is no “too big to fail” company, let one fail and the rest will tow the line on their own. Nothing better than a shot of reality and a good dose of money loss to get peoples attention, and a lot cheaper too!

Arizona responded to the Los Angeles city council boycott with a suggestion of its own: cutting power to the nation's second-largest city. The Arizona Corporation Commission has offered to pull the plug on Los Angeles, noting that Arizona's power plants supply electricity to 25% of the city. All this is the direct result of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT not doing its job to secure the boarders. What if one illegal crosses with a WOMD in a back pack, wanna bet the problem would be on the front lines of the Administrations things to do memo?

A Texas man with no military experience tricked the Army into letting him enter a reserve unit as a non-commissioned officer earlier this year, a deception that placed an untrained soldier in a leadership position in a time of war, an Associated Press investigation has found. Who else can get in to our armed services? Do we even know?

Stocks erased Friday's earlier 150-point loss to move solidly into positive territory as the nation's big banks led the markets higher. Two things here, why would you invest in big banks just because the Federal government has just gotten in bed with them? Seriously this is not a stable market. Also why the big fuss over a 150 point gain, after a 150 point loss when the markets them selves have gone from 11,280 to 10,152? Thats a drop of 1128 points, isn't that the news?

An international investigation team offered evidence that North Korean submarine fired a homing torpedo that caused a massive underwater blast that tore the South Korean warship apart and 48 died. Our esteemed Mrs. Clinton says “the communist country must face international consequences for its actions. “ You and I know that nothing will happen, North Korea knows the world will not deal with him and why should he worry?

An assistant principal at a Florida middle school sent a topless photo of herself to a 14-year-old boy, police say. No Comment needed.

Measles is making a rapid comeback in African, Asian and even some European countries despite being easily avoided through vaccination, the World Health Organizations said Friday. Close to being eradicated, now on the march again, because kids not getting shots. Money and false claims about inoculations is most likely to blame.

The massive expansion of requirements for businesses to file 1099 tax forms that was hidden in the 2,409-page health reform bill took many by surprise when it came to light last month. But it's just one piece of a years-long legislative stealth campaign to create ways for the federal government to track down unreported income. Everyone tried to warn Americans about this bill and now its starting to come to roost, just hang on to your wallets!

With a fresh set of tough sanctions on the table, Iran lashed out Wednesday against U.S. efforts to punish the nation for its nuclear program. Did we expect anything less?

From the Top down, the President on down, from all around the world we are under attack, not in the sense of 9-11 but in the sense that there are getting to be so many bad players are we going to have to start supporting players that are not so bad? Take a good look at the news this weekend, be sure to get it from a couple of sources to ward off getting more bias from one or the other and take note of just what is happening. Humans on this planet seem bent on planning their own doom. Some times I wish there were Aliens to come from the skies and stop this, but its our problem and any Aliens that might be out there, if they can get here, are smart enough to stay away from our problems. The plight of man is man is not a nice, but is very capable of doing very bad things.

Keep safe.

inxs@gondtc.com (R. It is what it is, if it is not the truth it is a lie by definition.

According to Fox News; Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal on Tuesday acknowledged that he has "misspoken" about his record but described those instances as few and far between. The record they are talking about here is his VIETNAM record. According to the New York Times "We have learned something important since the days I served in Vietnam," Blumenthal, a Democrat, told a veterans group in March 2008. Blumenthal reportedly told military families gathering to show support for U.S. troops that, "When we returned, we saw nothing like this." Then Blumenthal said this enlightening half truth: "On a few occasions, I have misspoken about my service and I regret that and I take full responsibility," Blumenthal said they were "absolutely unintentional," and said the mistake has only happened a few times out of "hundreds" of addresses he's given. He said he was "proud" of his service in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Blumenthal goes on to say "Unlike many of my peers, I chose to join the military and serve my country," he said. "I will not allow anyone to take a few misplaced words and impugn my record of service."

Ok, so now after spending nearly ten minutes laughing at the incredulous stuff that I just read I have only one question, how do you casually mis-speak about a very dangerous event that you did not take part in?

Problem is Democratic Socialists do not like the military, they don't like the military anything. Don't sit there and say “that's not true” because in your heart, as you think back over the last 40 years, you know it is true. To make you think that they do like the military and are for military strength, they make stuff up as they go. If the truth is not convenient enough embellish it. Tell a lie, who will know? Have these people been anywhere near this planet the last 15 years with the explosion of the internet and the ease of which we can find out nearly anything about anybody?

Do you really want someone who claims he misspeaks about being in a war zone to have anything to do with the military, especially in a civilian capacity? An even bigger question might be, is this the only thing he has lied about? Will he tell us lies about legislation he he is working on, for or against? You see once you tell a lie, how does anyone ever trust you again, are you lying again? Telling the Truth? This is the root of the biggest problem we have in Washington, they all lie to us and we take it as truth!! No more, if you hear a Congressman, a Senator or the President say something then check it out for yourself. My pastor for many years always reminded every congregant to bring a Bible to church, any one can stand up and say anything and you need the manual to check it out.

This then brings me to another point. Why do we pay these increasingly idiot Congressmen and Senators money! They can not even take the time to read a bill. This has been going on for years and has reached its height of ridiculousness during the reign of his Highness the most serene Hussein Obama.

Case in point, the Arizona Immigration bill. Notice the left going out of their minds and calling this bill racist, something that Nazis would do, and worse. Seems no one actually read this bill, so for those of you who did not here is from Section 1:

Section 1. Intent
The legislature finds that there is a compelling interest in the cooperative enforcement of federal immigration laws throughout all of Arizona. The legislature declares that the intent of this act is to make attrition through enforcement the public policy of all state and local government agencies in Arizona. The provisions of this act are intended to work together to discourage and deter the unlawful entry and presence of aliens and economic activity by persons unlawfully present in the United States.

Do you notice that there is no mention of race, creed or color, in fact the only mention applicable to people is to discourage and deter unlawful entry by ANYONE! That can be read race, color, religion and politics as well. If your purple it applies to you only if you are trying to or are already here ILLEGALLY!

In Article 8:
ARTICLE 8. ENFORCEMENT OF IMMIGRATION LAWS
11-1051. Cooperation and assistance in enforcement of immigration laws; indemnification
A. No official or agency of this state or a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state may adopt a policy that limits or restricts the enforcement of federal immigration laws to less than the full extent permitted by federal law.

So this says the National Federal Law that is on the books must be followed. How bad is that? Not!

Continuing:

B. For any lawful contact made by a law enforcement official or agency of this state or a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state where reasonable suspicion exists that the person is an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States, a reasonable attempt shall be made, when practicable, to determine the immigration status of the person. The person's immigration status shall be verified with the federal government pursuant to 8 United States code section 1373(c).

Oh! Those Nasty Arizonans! How dare they!

So our esteemed Attorney General Eric Holder, had warned the law could create a "slippery slope" toward racial profiling, then according to Fox News told a House committee last week that he had not read the bill. So how did he come to the conclusion that it was racial profiling? Because to a Socialist everything has to be about race of course. Then Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano admitted she has not read it, even though she's gone on television to say that it was "bad law enforcement law." How does she know this if she has not read it? She cant, its just more socialist dreaming.

Do not forget that no one read the Health bill either, and since it passed, a lot has come out about it that should have been discussed in the course of a debate, but since it was needed asap there was no time, Trust us they say, are they nuts? Trust an administration that has done more to destroy the fabric of this nation than any other in the History of the United States? An administration that does not read bills before commenting on them, or even voting on them for that matter?

People we are in a “pickle” so to speak, and the longer this socialist administration is left in power the father down in the pickle jar we sink, till only a new American Revolution can bring us back. I still stick by what I have said before, as a Country we are headed to a dissolving into three separate countries, the East the center and the west. Just think how happy all the dictators in the world would be, how happy Europe would be that we would dissolve and sink to their their low level. Happy that is until the next world Dictator wants to take over and then they discover there is not Shinning city on the Hill, No America, No USA to come and save them. A dark day indeed for the world, and this November another dark day is coming unless we stand our rightful ground and throw the bums out of office!

inxs@gondtc.com (R. I am speaking philosophically here and about my views on politics national or state.

When I was in 6th grade the president was John F. Kennedy and of course we had current events every morning and for school we had to watch the news, read the paper and whatever else to bring content to school. It was a good idea to help kids to start paying attention to the world around them, to expand their view from I am here to so are they.

I got to a point where I would listen to the grownups talk politics as well. I remember my Dad a Republican, saying that when Kennedy stood up and called the Bay of Pigs failure his failure showed a lot of courage and leadership. He was impressed with the way Kennedy stood up to Russia. Other things of note were his tax cuts, education, space race, and the view that America is a great country because of its people.

Soon I was a Democrat. Everything was democrat, not based on what we were doing or saying but based on an ideal in my head of what a democrat was. They helped people, they were liberal they helped the African Americans, the downtrodden, the old. It was great! Those old republicans were conservative and just wanted everything to stay the same and not progress. That was my and many others view of conservatism, old stuck in the mud, never change. What I did not know at the time is that I had fallen into a trap laid out by the very Democrats that I served. The misunderstanding of the conservative movement. Needless to say I voted for Carter, that would be the last Democrat for President I would ever vote for, at least so far.

Next I was in this “I don't care for politics” stage. I had no opinions on anything political, whatever they want they can have, just leave me alone. This pretty much went on till my son Robert came a long in 1983. He was adopted. There was a lot on the news about abortion and I was watching a pro- abortion rally and really did not care that much one way or the other but thought that a Woman had a right to choose as I mean it is her body! Then all of a sudden I looked across the room at Robert and it hit me right between the eyes! He could have been aborted but for the love of his birth mother. My son Robert could have been aborted! I tell you that was a powerful moment. I don't think I cried any harder holding him at that moment of time than any other time in my life and I came out the other side thinking that it does matter what I believe. Why were we punishing the innocent victims? Does it matter if it was rape, or inconvenience? The child had nothing to do with even being there as that was a decision of other men and women, right or wrong. The child was paying the price with his life for the shortcomings of men and women.

Over the next few years I really started to pay attention to what was actually said by the parties and what they did in Congress. The more I looked at and analyzed what I actually believed in, the more it aligned with the conservative movement. Notice I did not say Republicans. We have a two party system, Democrats and Republicans but a multi-philosophical system. Originally we had conservatives and liberals and socialists and libertarians all in both parties to one degree or the other but now it seems that we have socialists, conservatives and a lot of people in the middle. Unfortunately the more the middle of the roaders grow the more dangerous we are to losing the very essence of our country. I can understand that the middle of the roaders don't want to take sides, for many reasons from the fact that they feel the political discourse is to acetic to not wanting to appear un-PC. Some just have ptrouboe making up their mind about which side they want to align, certain things about each party entices them but not all. Years ago when there were many different kinds of political debate in each party they could go with the party they felt most often displayed their beliefs with the idea that there were at least some like minded idealists to side with the other parts of their political beliefs.

Today many of those middle of the roaders feel disenfranchised with both parties. That is why it is no longer in my opinion they side with any party. You need to look at your core beliefs and go with that, be they liberal, conservative or socialist. That is why now I am a conservative.

What beliefs do I have that make me align that way? Here they are in a nut shell. (1) I believe in American Exceptional-ism. That as a country that was built with the best and brightest of people from all around the world we pooled our ideas and became the most country, the most free, the most wealthy, the most powerful. I do not apologize for that. The rest of the world may want me to but I do not have to. We are what we are because we are exceptional. Period. (2) Freedom from Government. If you have not read the Federalist papers then you need to do so, for the understanding of why our Country was founded the way it was and why it is important even today. You will find that the constitution was developed to put laws in order to restrain the government not the people. It spells out what the Government cannot do. Government no matter how “good” will tend to be less so the more power they abscond. We the people are the Government but its a Republic not a Democracy. We have a representative government, we elect certain of our kind to represent us in this Government. IF they do not do what we want we send a new set. Very simple. The people always have control of the Government. (3) The freedom of the individual is what made us Exceptional. The Government did not invent the Railroad, the telegraph the telephone, the radio, the TV or anything else for that matter. It was individuals driven to succeed that did the things we take so much for granted. (4) Life is precious and is something that needs to be protected from the Cradle to the grave. It is a gift and not to be taken so lightly as to be thrown away. Once we loose the idea that life is precious we are on the way out as a society. A society cannot long survive if they have so little respect for life. They will end up taking itself out. (5) There is a Moral code higher than that what we make up. If there is no higher code of morality, call it what you will, then were do we stop and put an anchor in the ground to stand against its destruction. Our Declaration of Independence stats that laws and policies that violate the natural law are abuses of government power that must be resisted and reversed.

One could go on and list many others but I always thought these ideas a basis for my conservative ideas. You don't have to be a Protestant or even a believer, you can be Black or White or Yellow you can be Straight or Gay and these principles of our founding fathers still hold true and are valuable in today's world.

We have sent many of our young men around the world to fight for Freedom, against tyranny socialism and communism, and it is very hard to watch the United States today to take those dangerous steps toward the very things so many have given their life for. Very Hard indeed.

inxs@gondtc.com (R. The sudden move to the far left, to socialism, the wholesale money giveaway to the supposed companies too big to fail, to the outrageous National deficit we find ourselves in. How you might ask could we have avoided all this? Very simple, by voting with our brains and not our hearts. We let the main stream media turn the last election into a vote for rock-star. There were many people trying very hard to get our attention with the facts but we did not notice or just figured, no matter our vote really did not count. Now we still have rising unemployment with no end in sight, we have spend billions on a recovery that will never happen. We have a president who is more delighted at bowing to a foreign King than paying attention to his own people here at home. We have seen the moderate rhino republicans side in with the lefty's as if they were always lefties themselves.

Then I saw this: “Republican U.S. Sen. Bob Bennett of Utah has been ousted in his bid to serve a fourth term after failing to make it out of the Utah GOP convention.” and I realized that those rhino's those bastion of the old guard republicans still do not get it even on the death bed of their own political careers! Here is a man that believes that what ever HE does is what HE should do, not the will of the electorate that sent him to Washington! Look at this: Bennett called the political atmosphere "toxic" and said it's, "Clear some of the votes I've cast have added to that toxic environment, looking back with one or two minor exceptions, I wouldn't cast any any differently, even if I knew it would cost me my career." Sorry Bob but it did!! Bob failed to figure out that it was the peoples work he was supposed to do and not forge his own way. He was elected by those people to represent them, their ideas and to take them to Washington and to join in the political fight with the weight of these people and their ideas behind him. He was not sent to Washington to run his own show or to vote for bills he knew his districts did not want, just so at the end he could stand with his head held high and say that he would vote that way again, no matter what. Just how out of touch from reality could he be? Quite a way as he found out this last week, he was fired by the constituents that sent him to the Senate, for trying to run his own agenda.

This is good news for conservatism. Unfortunately he is not the only one and there needs to be more of house cleaning in the Republican party before we are free of these toxic pretenders of conservationism. I do hope John McCain is among them as he is the chief of fence riders and I still think he is a Democratic, a sort of liberal in conservative clothing. We have too many fence riders, to many moderates. I ask you this, give me a list of the great moderates of the world.... cant think of any? That is because they don't exist. Moderates are fence riders and blow and wag with the prevailing wind as they see it. The New Testament even makes a reference to these fence riders and it applies to fence riders everywhere: Revelation 3:14-16 These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

So spitith the Utah Republicans! Or as the memorable Sean Connery said: “Here endth the lesson!”

Its not just Utah either! In Arizona, Sen. John McCain is in a tough primary fight against former Rep. J.D. Hayworth, a conservative talk-radio host. In Kentucky, Rand Paul, the son of libertarian Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, is gaining momentum in his challenge against the GOP establishment's pick of Secretary of State Trey Grayson to replace retiring U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning.

Here in North Dakota we have our own problems, we have elected, over and over again, Left wing socialist Democrats and then get surprised when they do that for which liberals always do, vote for the party not the people. Why are you surprised, they think they have your support, you voted them in, and elections have consequences. So now there is a group that wants to recall Senator Conrad, go for it as long as its legal, I personally don't think it will work although I do hope it does, and is a lot of time and money probably better spent on developing candidates who could defeat him in an election. Short cuts, while they are very tempting never really get you to your destination as much as you originally thought they might. Right now we have to do something with Earl Pomeroy. He has to go and if we don't do it this time, then we get what we deserve. After the passing of the Health Care Fiasco, which he voted for, he had the audacity to swamp my internet experience with adds trying to tell me he did what was right and what North Dakota wanted! Earl are you on crack or what? You vote with your party and President almost 95% of the time and you know that North Dakotans are not that stupid. So you must refer to those lefty's that love you so much. I do hope we can show Earl the door and we can but beware of those moderate Republicans who are sill just as socialist as Pomeroy, they will not help us at all.

Before you vote, look at the issues and how your candidate supports them before you mark your ballot in November. Don't vote with your heart or we could end of with our own North Dakota Obama!

inxs@gondtc.com (R. I am sure you have heard it a thousand times by now but the story of the question asked of students of Journalism. The questions is why do you want to be a Journalist. The vast majority answered "I want to change the world and/or help the world" NARK!! Wrong answer! Journalism is not about changing the world or helping anybody. Its about reporting what has happened to someone who was not there and interested in what happened. Even Wikipedia which gets sooo much wrong gets this right! They state that Journalism is the investigation and reporting of events, issues, and trends to a broad audience.

A troubling event has been happening very subtly and slowly and it concerns Fox news, as the supposed bastion of "Fair and balanced reporting", they were known for getting the facts in and letting us decide why it happened, however more and more I hear and watch the reporters ending the story with their "take" or "speculation" on why or what just happened. In getting so used to the main street media doing this for 40 years it does not always raise an eyebrow, but I have been catching it more and more. That coupled with a couple of the Main anchors not understanding or correctly reading an item and going off half cocked about it leaves me to wonder when they fall off the Fair and Balanced beam, where do we get unbiased news?

First I was not born yesterday, and I know that the main commentators on Fox are not Fair and balanced and they don't have to be. I am talking about the reporting of the news items themselves. It seems to be a no-brainer, Who, What, When, Where and leave the Why to the Viewer and the Commentators. What is it with reporters who just have to end a news story with their own commentary? You want to comment? Get a commentators job! My problem is that with the average public so used to hearing commentary ending every story on all the other networks, they might not notice it creeping back in again. The next time you watch Fox pay attention to the reporting and see if you can spot the end of story tag line commentary! Where will we go if Fox will not deliver Fair and Balanced reporting? Commentary we can get anywhere.

Second item is what is happening in Canada our Socialist neighbor to the north. The Supreme Court of Canada ruled Friday that journalists do not have a blanket right to shield confidential sources! This is very disturbing as it basically is another power grab by the Canadian Government. Here is what I mean. This ruling stems from an National Post article by former reporter Andrew McIntosh. They attempted to quash a search warrant issued in a case dealing with a possibly forged document from a secret source linked to a political scandal. Justice Ian Binnie writing on the court's behalf said that in this situation, the needs of a police investigation trumped the right to keep sources confidential. WhoAA!! The needs of an investigation, this time in a political situation, trumped the secret source!

Why does this have anything to do with us? If you remember a few years ago the furor over the idea of looking at other Countries statutes and using that to define our own, sometimes what happens in other countries can affect us here in the US. The journalists are supposed be a kind of watchdog over us. They report and investigate and sometimes bring items to light that may have never been shown that light without them. That is why it is important for a free society to have protections to let legitimate journalists keep their sources secret. There needs to be some limits on just what a government can do in the investigation of any crimes lest we fall into that soup of despotism.

I know there are differing views on this but a free press should be protected at almost all costs. This then underlines what I was talking about in the first part of this blog. If the journalists are to be believed and trusted, they need to leave the commentary to the commentators and out of the news casts themselves. They need to have their secret sources for investigations as well. I hope Fox does not end up like the rest of the mainstream press today.

inxs@gondtc.com (R. Put up walls, bring in the National Guard and the army if needed and stop anyone from coming over unless they go through the check points provided. This just makes common sense when you have at best, a Third World country with undoubtedly the most corrupt Government from the top to the bottom, on your border. A lot of people want to get out and I say, yes! let them in, but by the book, by the front door. Legally. Don't start your chance at a new life by breaking a law in the very land that you want to settle in. The reason you want in here is because your country has laws that are enforce against outsiders but are mostly ignored for insiders.

2) Ban all American companies from labeling products in Spanish. You want to know what you are buying then learn, this lands language. You want to speak Spanish then go to a Spanish speaking country.

3) Start requiring all students to learn English and stop teaching Spanglish as well. If you come to a country and want to take part in its greatness, then learn the language just like my ancestors did. If you really want opportunity this is the first step on the road. If you just want a job to make money to send home to your "other" country then please stay at home and let someone else come who wants to actually take part in, and chase the American Dream.

4) Start Exporting illegal Mexicans (aliens to cover all other groups) back home. No matter how long it takes and put their names on a no enter list. There are consequences to breaking the law and going back to the end of the line should be one of them. This news will travel fast and many will leave on their on accord, to try to come back in the legal way. Back in Mexico this will work in conjunction with #1 to stop the flow of illegals coming in.

That's it!

When you have a problem that is complex as the media are trying to tell us the illegal problem is, then the most direct route to tackle that problem will be the best and only solution. This way we allow entry to people who need to get out of their god-awful country and get to a country of exceptional-ism, and be embraced the way other immigrants have. We are all immigrants or from immigrant families, yet we are united in our country the way no other on earth has ever been. Letting illegals in and to stay is nothing more than a slap in the face of each of us. We welcome you to our land, but come in the front door with the idea of joining us and chasing the real American dream. Exceptional-ism does not start with breaking a law, even to get into the greatest country on the face of the earth!

inxs@gondtc.com (R. Try American innovation!

Podcast Here!

Over the past few days the news has been coming fast and furious, oil spills and the politicians attempt to use it for their own benefit, New York City bombers who go through under Obama's Watch only to be stopped by the bombers own incompetence. Floods, tornadoes, it goes on and on and it gets pretty overwhelming after a while. So today I thought something nice and uplifting was in order. American Innovation, from a very innovative Company called Apple. You know the company run by leftist hippies and righteous nerds! In California no less!

So whats the big deal about Apple anyway? How about right where you are now, at your computer, most of what you see and use today came from Apple engineers with a little shove from Xerox. If you don't know that story look it up.

No Apple no Mouse, No Apple no Desktop with icons. Along the way, the reason why freedom and individual freedom to boot, is why America is Great. We have thousands of Companies like Apple that were allowed the freedom to innovate! That is what makes America great, not the Government, not Government Money handouts, no Government Programs. Imagine a light bulb developed by Congress or AC electricity by a czar of Obama's? How about the automobile, how far do you think that would get developed by Government. Broadcasting, just look at England where the Government Owns the air waves and the US where the people own the air waves and see the difference.

1976 Apple starts with a wooden box called the Apple computer made in a garage. Basically a PC. In 1978 Apple sells the first affordable floppy drive. But after a trip to see the innovative work done at Xerox (and coming away with it because Xerox said there was no future in it) and the hiring of several key employees, 1984 Macintosh! (Originally the Lisa) The worlds first object oriented, icon loving, mouse driven computer, fully 6 years before the PC would have Windows 3.11! Macintosh operating systems, designed to work with one specific hardware motherboard. One of the reasons there is only one place to by a Mac. 1993 the Newton, a failure by Apple standards, but still one of the best handhelds ever. I still use mine 15 years later. Handwriting recognition that has yet to be surpassed and using the first ARM processor that made palm computing so popular! The new Mac OS X, using Openstep from Steve Jobs Next Computer company. Beauty and simplicity and it worked! Add to this list the Ipod in all its sizes and Iphone, now Ipad but don't forget the IMac the most successful and beautiful all in one Computer ever, period. How about iLife? iMovie, iDVD, iTunes, iPhoto, and Garage Band. The power book notebook series of portables that wow every-time they come out with a new one. Lets not forget the Mac Mini, so tiny so useful! iTunes anyone? As I look around my room I have a Mac SE30, Mac LCIII and my Mac Pro Quad dual, as well as two older Mac Portables and my lonely little PC which gets used once in a while! My SE30 is from 1989 has 128meg ram, 80 meg Hard Drive and all in one and never once has it failed to boot. Same for my LCIII from 1992 and in fact it is wired to my local network and was the first computer I used on the internet in 1994.

This is just one of many American Companies who have never taken their eye off the ball so to speak and done it well. There are others like Johnson and Johnson, HP and more. So it makes you wonder why our car companies are so awful compared to the rest of the world. Its not that we can't do it, its just the many companies look to the bottom line first, forgetting the product and thus never deliver either!

One of the ways Apple has been able to get their programs to work so well is developers must get a Kit from Apple and follow its guidelines to be able to sell a product to run on an Apple or Mac. This means every app runs the same. They use the same interfaces and makes learning how to use a Mac a thing of beauty in itself. To do the normal tasks its the same for all programs and there is no registry data base its all in the OS and the program. Simple.

So now enter the Ipad and The Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission are in negotiations over which one will investigate antitrust action on the part of Apple's policy requiring software developers who devise applications for devices such as the Ipad and Iphone to use only Apple's programing tools. That's right get the Government involved and the first thing they do is try to cut off the very thing that makes something work right! I mean, "how dare they require someone to use their programming tools to make an application to run on their platform! How dare they!"

Someone told me once that they used PC's because there so many more applications for them. I responded yes and most of them don't work very well or cause problems with other programs. Now the Government wants to find a way to stop the very system that makes a Mac work right most of the time. Like I said imagine a world where the Government is controlling and making everything! If you don't vote the current Congress and administration out of office this fall your going to find out just how bad Government can be. And I do know this, you wont like it at all!

inxs@gondtc.com (R. While I was there I realized just how unpopular Obama is in the Sin City! It seems ole' Obama Man cannot get it right at least with out his teleprompter! If you remember last year when he was less than cordial in his attempts to curb Business from spending money foolishly like going to Las Vegas! Ohhh! That did not sit well for either side in Las Vegas. I was there shortly after and talking to the People who work there and wandering through the empty convention centers. People were out of work. Jobs were lost! We always hear about Obama-Man creating jobs and saving jobs! the only Jobs Government can create are Government Jobs! Bureaucrats! That is exactly what we are getting, more Government workers! You see the main concern that the Socialist Democrats have is to be sure all their friends get a job.... with the Government.

But I digress.... it is so easy once you start to talk about Obama-Man.

In the rush to stop capitalism, during the hearings about the "evil" Goldman Sachs, U.S. Sen. Claire "Bear" McCaskill said "You are the bookie. You are the house. You have less oversight and less regulation ... than a pit boss in Las Vegas," she said.

Now I have stood and watched the Pits in Vegas. At the Tropicana I counted no less than 15 cameras just over head in the area of the Craps table. The dealers worked in pairs together and watched over by the cameras and the Pit Boss, who by the way dresses nicer than most Congress men! Nothing happens outside of the eye of the Casino as there are always people trying to work the system. The odds are in favor of the house in all but Blackjack and everyone knows that. The fun is playing the games and beating the odds. A lot of jobs are on the line. The dealers, the pit boss, the Casino support crew of Housekeeping and engineering, the management, the buss and cab drivers, the people at the airport, it goes on and on.

This is the second time Las Vegas has been damaged by our Progressive, socialist communist president! Please notice the small p! I duly respect the office of the president but I do not have to respect the man that holds that office, and I do not.

In the ride to the airport I talked to my cabby. He is mexican-American, capitalization is correct as he is a legal immigrant just like my Norwegisn Grandmother or my Scottish Grandfather! He said the last year has been hard and things have picked up some but he feared it would be a while before it got real better. He is right, as long as the current junta is in control, the only thing we have to fear is...... Obama.

inxs@gondtc.com (R. This brings me to three points to argue.

First on my list today is the problem that The creators of The Animated TV Show South Park have found themselves in. I am not a big fan of the series but have seen some episodes over the years. Trey Parker and Matt Stone have poked fun at everyone and everything, more in line with very over the top satire than any singling out of any one idea, place or person. So what happened on the 200th episode! They put Mohammad in a Bear Suit! Now the Muslims are outraged! At least one is anyway and he is an American! Zachary Adam Chesser was the boy next door kind of guy. But he held darker secrets according to some of his classmates and was a loner. His “threat” was taken literally although he says it was not a threat but just the eventual outcome for what they did to Muhammad. So what does comedy central do? They censor all references to Muhammad in this weeks episode and put a big black box with the word “Censored” on it over the Bear that is supposed to be Muhammad. So again, one small minded man controls what we see and he is not even a Network Hack!

How many times have Jewish or Christian leaders or ideas get blasted and we see no violent outrageous acts or threats against the perpetrators? Why? It is very simple, it has to do with the differences between the very elemental concepts of the Judeo-Christian thought and Islam. The very writings of Judeo-Christian thought, teach us to turn the other cheek. That love, even for your enemy is the true way to win over others. Imagine if you would, if we took Jesus seriously, and we really developed a love for our neighbors and our enemies, what a totally different world we would live in. Now then take a look at the Koran, it is filled with impartations to its followers to “kill” infidels! Who do they consider “infidels”? Everyone who is not a Muslim. Now think about the world we would have if they were in control?

We need to wake up and realize that the Muslims we call extremists are the Muslims who are following their own holy book! The Muslims who keep telling us that its a peaceful religion are the ones who are the true Muslim extremists!

Second on my mind is in the same line. Its is about the Reverend Franklin Graham . It seems he was invited to the Pentagon's National Day of Prayer service on May 6 and then dis-invited because he said something they consider “bad” about Islam! Some of the quotes he said about Islam included this: “I love the people of Islam but their religion, I do not agree with their religion at all. And if you look at what the religion does just to women, women alone, it is just horrid. And so yes, I speak out for women. I speak out for people that live under Islam, that are enslaved by Islam and I want them to know that they can be free.” So the pentagon got a few complaints about what he said and again the minority wins the day against the majority! How can we expect them to fight a war against terrorism and they cannot even withstand the pressure from a few on a free speech issue?

Here is the deal for me, The followers of Islam condemn themselves with words from their own book. They have no desire to live with others and some even want to start Armageddon! My next thought is what are Muslims doing in our military anyway? The FBI is following several of them according to some reports because they may have ties with radical Islamists! If you read the Koran, you will see that they are all radical extremists. You might say, and rightfully so, that not all Muslims are radical extremists and I would counter saying they are. If you believe in the Koran and want to follow what it tells you, that will make you an enemy of the entire rest of the world. This is not something I made up nor is it something I wish for it is just the truth of the matter. If you doubt me then get a copy of the Koran and read it. You will be amazed! We have to start to look at things in the world for what they really are not what we wish they were.

Third, Arizona's tough immigration law signed by Gov. Jan Brewer. Its about time! The federal Government has showed itself to be wholly inept at handling the mess themselves, so let the States do it! It is Arizona right, they boarder the problem! Mexico, at best a third world country, with admitted corruption everywhere you turn. A war with Drug cartels that is spilling over into the United States. What does the US do? Nothing. Now there are protest groups in Arizona calling the new law racist. The law makes it a crime under state law to be in the country illegally. I thought that it was illegal under federal law, but no one does anything about it! Now Mexico is stating this could disturb cross border relations! What the heck? What relations, they don't stop their own people from going to the US to work with out papers now, so does this mean they really want illegals to cross into the USA? I have always said that was the case as it brings a rather large amount of cash into Mexico. William Sanchez, president of the National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders Legal Defense Fund, said "Millions of Latinos around the country are shocked," Shocked? At what? Getting tough with criminals? I am sorry if you come in through the back door, your here illegally.

You have a host of others trying to explain this away by saying we are a nation built on immigration. They are correct, but not illegal immigration! What part of ILLEGAL do they not understand? My Grandparents came to this country via immigration. They assimilated, they learned the language, they sent their kids to school and they obeyed the laws of their new land! They built America. This is not what the illegal workers think, they want to get in here, work , get paid and send the money home. They do not want to become Americans, they want to gather in groups and towns and have a Mexican area in the USA! During the elections of 2008 I remember seeing Mexican flags being flown in California at a rally! One Mexican stated that they were going to take back California! These people only want to steal from us, if not they would come in the front door and join with us as many have and start to make their mark on this Nation.

So what to do? We have to stop worrying about what Islamic countries might do or think of us and go after the militants and wipe them out as they are dangerous to the stability of the entire world, and we need to forget that Mexico exists, and send troops along the border and close it off. Then round up all the illegals and send them home and bar them from applying for citizenship, after all, criminal acts do have consequences as long as we live in a Country where we are ruled by law. At least so far we are.

inxs@gondtc.com (R. A man and his wife are talking:

"Well, dear its almost 11 o'clock and we should really get to bed!"

"Why do you want to go to bed this early? What DO you have in mind?"

"Well, I... ah.. maybe we could make love?"

"Hmmm, I guess, I do have a headache"

"Oh, and uh sweetheart, could you do something special for me tonight?"

"Like what, pray tell?"

"Could you wear that skimpy little outfit, the one with the over the shoulder boulder holder and the short short short skirt?

"Why on earth would you want that?"

"It's exciting that's why!"

"Ok, i will get ready then you come in a moment."

"Ok sweety"

The sweety, er I mean the wife exits the room and then the husband picks up his cell phone and dials a number:

"Hi, is Abudabba el Dimwit there?, yes this is Shaleem. The plan is working perfectly and now after years of planning and a terrible marriage, we will destroy San Fransisco and many Infidels"

"Honey what did you say dear?"

"Ah nothing, I am on the phone getting the weather report!"

"I have to go Abudabba, my so-called wife is putting on very skimpy clothes! No I am not going through with the sex, I wont need to!"

"Honey I am ready!"

"Ooops I gotta go Abudabba, Heil! Osama!"

Now the husband goes to the bedroom to look, and there his wife is scantily clad!

"Allah Be Praised it is done!"

"What the heck are you talking about"

The building starts to shake, its an earthquake! The building starts to crumble and then an enormous eruption and all of San Francisco disappear in a great chasm!!! As the Husband goes down, he is heard to say:

"I love those scantily clad women they are better than bombs! AYeAYEEEYAYAY!"

Reporting in the news the next day:

Women who dress provocatively and tempt people into promiscuity are to blame for earthquakes, according to Hojatoleslam Kazim Sadeghi, who says women and girls who "don't dress appropriately" spread "promiscuity in society."
"When promiscuity spreads, earthquakes increase,"

Pretty much what Carole King said in her classic song, I feel the Earth Move.

inxs@gondtc.com (R. You know the one, where there is no lower class just a low class and the ruling elite. So last week he set his Obama-target on NASA, and if you have half a brain you could have seen this coming. What better way to tear down our superiority than with the drowning of NASA. How arrogant it is of us to go to space, to the moon or beyond when so many people are living in squalor on this planet. He continues to apologize to the world for American exceptional-ism, for our trying to keep the world safe and now for leading the western world in Space. I mean anyway whats the big deal, NASA is costly and what do we get from it anyway?

I am about to give a glimpse into the benefits of NASA not in outer-space but inner space!

Lets start with basic of home life! Enriched baby formula. That's right you see it correctly. It seems NASA discovered some microalgae-based, vegetable-like oil called Formulaid developed from long distance space travel research. It turns out that this "formula" contains two fatty acid compounds that are found in Human milk but not in baby formulas! Turns out they are very important to human baby mental and visual development.

How about Regenerable Biocide Delivery Unit, bet you didn't know that one! Its used for a NASA developed municipal size water treatment system for developing nations, it uses iodine instead of chlorine to kill bacteria.

I continue with Scratch resistant lenses, the ones you like so well or the ribbed swimsuit that makes swimmers faster or the cardio-muscular conditioner, how about real Moon Boot material in running shoes mid-soles to improve shock absorption and better stability. Not convinced? Try these: Dustbuster, shock-absorbing helmets, home security systems, smoke detectors, flat panel TV, cool sportswear, self adjusting sunglasses, composite golf clubs art preservation and more.

Just in case your still not convinced think about these products from NASA researcher and design: Solar energy, Forest management, Structural analysis, virtual reality, Laser Surveying, Compact disc material, Microcomputers, noise abatement, sewage treatment, air purification, digital imaging Breast biopsy system or LORAD, breast cancer detection, laser angioplasty, programmable pacemaker, ocular screening, voice controlled wheelchair, automatic insulin pump, portable x-ray, micro-lasers, high pressure water-stripping, advanced welding torch, Doppler weather radar, high temp composite material for vehicle brakes, advanced lubricants....

I guess if you still think we spend too much on NASA, you might never change your mind. I have listed but a few of the areas where space research from NASA has influenced our lives. It has done so since the late 1950's.

I know Obama didn't say he was gonna scrap NASA, but he never says what he is really trying to do. NASA has and is one of the kind of programs our National Government should be doing as it benefits the common good of the whole nation. It is taking the best and the brightest from 50 states and making one ideal.

NASA has not been without its problems remember it is a bureaucracy and will still in many ways serve its self, but they have proven that they have served us well. And we have not even talked about the impact NASA has had on defending out country...... AH HA! maybe that is why Obama will continue to undermine NASA. Since we are now a "nice" nation who has apologized for being great, we will soon have no enemies and will not need military technology and so therefore will not need NASA in the future.

If you think this is the last we will hear about the Obamanazation of America, your brain just isn't in gear. We have a little over two years left of this Marxist regime and who knows where he will go next!

inxs@gondtc.com (R. The Engberg's of Crosby North Dakota. My mom passed away August 25, 2008. Now there are two from the Family left. They are my Uncle Ken at 90 and My aunt Ann at 101!

My aunt is affectionately known to a lot of us Nieces and nephews as Annie-Bear. When I was very little, my mom was reading me the story of the three bears in my Aunt Ann's apartment in Minot. As she went down the list of the Pappa Bear then the Mama Bear and then the baby Bear, I piped up and don't forget the Annie-Bear! The name stuck and she then called me Dody-Bear. I love to think about how Nick Names come about.

My aunt has been in a hospital (note the correct use of the noun Hospital, not in Hospital but in A hospital) for last several weeks. She has cancer in several places, had a bleeding Kidney and some arthritis. At THE hospital (we are not England) she was treated and go the bleeding under control. I have been talking to here every day for the past ten days or so. It was great since I could not be there to just let this Great Lady of 101 that I was thinking of her.

Then the fluid started to build up, she was in therapy and she sounded like her old self, which is to say at about 60 years of age. Very strong voice and a memory for all things sharp as a tack. Yesterday she was retaining more fluid and she suddenly started to sound like 101. It was her birthday yesterday and I talked to her twice. The last time was last night and she did not retain much of the special Aunt I spent so much time with in my life. This morning she was taken into intensive care and now has a blood clot in her lung. They are treating her but if it lets loose, its pretty much all over.

All this is swirling in my mind and got me to think about my Mother, my Dad my uncles and aunts all gone now and the finality of life is staring me in my face. We live every day like there is always a tomorrow, but there is not guarantee in life or for life.

Ann was in every way a true Women's Liberator. I don't mean the wanna be fem-i-Nazis of today. I mean one who did not picket but did the deed! After High School she took a summer Teaching program and then went taught in a country school and She also was a tutor to a child who lived on a remote ranch in Montana for two years. Ann worked in a bank in Minot until she decided she was not learning enough and moved to Rugby where she worked in a bank for four years and became a Bank cashier. Ann then went to work for the U S Employment service and eventually worked as a recruiter for the Merchant Marines. After World war II she took over the Bus depot lunch counter in Minot. I think this was about 1946. At this time she became a gun collector as well as user. She was the only woman at the Minot gun club and shot in competitions. I never saw this but understand she was a good shot. Next she bought the Langseth's cafe in Minot. A place I would spend lot of time in my younger days! Great food, and I mean Great! She used to make the morning pancakes on a griddle in the front window and you stand out side and watch or come in a eat! Next in the mid 1950's she bought the Grand Cafe housed in the Grand Hotel across the street from the Langseth's. This was a medium sized hotel build in the early 1930's. Next she bought the Pioneer Bar and Lounge next door. She ran these three businesses for many years until the Grand hotel burned down in 1961 and in 1963 she lost her lease on the Langseth's and soon started another phase of her life. Back teaching and this time for my Dad in the Manpower Development Training Program in Devils Lake at the Lake region Junior College. Next she went to Whapeton State School of Science where she developed a curriculum for teaching cooking for a program that was never implemented. From there she went to Staples Minnesota and taught and ran a culinary program. One of her students actually ended up cooking at the White House. She had to retire at about 65 due to Minnesota's rules. Not done, over the last 45 years she ran a Kiosk in a Mall in Wichita Kansas, did debt collection, and had two Ice Cream stores in Des Moines Iowa up until that city was flooded a few years ago. Then a botched operation to remove a cataract left her legally blind. At the age of 95 she was the oldest active member of the Lions Clubs in South Dakota and went to many fund raisers to help raise money for the blind. All during this time she became an avid knitter and crocheter of and got into Norwegian Hardanger needle point. Just a couple years ago, as she approached 100 she made and gave out great colorful knitted afghans.

That plus a lot more was done in span of 100 years. She never married although she was ready to get engaged when her Beau got meningitis and died. She doted on all us nieces and nephews. She was like a second mother to me as we lived in Minot, stayed at her apartment, when I was little. Plus we lived just 20 miles away in Carpio and i saw her every week and even got to stay over night and what a treat that was. Then she lived in Devils Lake while I lived there. When she was teaching in Staples Minnesota I was in Wadena about 18 miles away and saw her a lot.

I remember being away from home for the first time and yet she was someone I knew right there. I would go over on a Friday Night and she would play the baby grand piano and we would sing all these old songs, pick up KFC and have a party. She listened to me on the Radio and offered suggestion for pronunciation and usage of grammar. She would take me out to great Restaurants to try some great delicacy or visit a friends kitchen. While she was living in Devils Lake sometimes she would call up and see If I could join her for dinner..... In Carrington at the Chieftain.

Today she is in intensive car and I hope for her all the best, knowing too that every road has a journey and every journey has an end. She was far from a perfect person just like all the rest of us and even drove us crazy sometimes but she had a big heart and in the end that is what really counts!

God Bless my Mothers Sister! May God's everlasting grace and peace be with you today and all the days God allows you before he calls your name and takes you home to him..

An Addendum: Ann Henrietta Engberg went to be with the Lord on June 1, 2010 at 8:05 pm CST.

inxs@gondtc.com (R. I was watching the TV the other day and I heard someone talking about getting rid of the Education department at the Federal level. That got me to thinking.

Across the country, state by state we are spending more and more money and getting less and less! The overall grades of our students are falling, yet the cost keeps going up!

How much money are we spending? The National Center for Education Statistics reports average per-student cost was $8,310 in 2003-04 school. Ranging from $13,338 in New Jersey to $4,991 in Utah. That works out to about 500 billion for the country as a whole and almost 5% of the GDP. These are numbers from '03 to '04.

What all do we get for this "Bargain" 25% or more of 8th graders are below the basics in reading, based on information fro the NAEP exam for 2005. They basically don't understand what they can read. They don't know how to interpret what they read. 20% scored below basic in math. The department of Education says we graduate 75%.

So, like a good teacher lets review. For 500 million dollars or more each year we get pretty much a quarter of our students who cannot read and understand and do simple math. That's a 25% failure rate in my book.

So how did we get to this point anyway?

One hundred (remember that is Hund -red not hunnerd) years ago if you walked into a class room you would easily recognize it as the one you children see today. One teacher and 20 to 30 students, black or whiteboards, desks, books and other items around the room. Wanna know how to fail at a business? Simple just keep using the seven words of business failure. "That's the way we have always done it" Almost everything else in the world has changed but not education.

Having taught Sunday School and taught in a Broadcast school as well as filling in as licensed preacher, one thing I noticed right away is people don't all learn the same way! This might not be news to you but it was to me because I never thought about it until I had to do it! Some learn by reading in the book, some by hearing the lecture, some by both, some learn visually some learn from combination of visual, hearing and the book. Some learn best with a group and some learn best on their own. So why do we teach our students all the same?

Bureaucrats! The only thing a bureaucracy can do,and not very well at that, is one thing at a time, therefore we teach everyone the same. That process makes it easier for the bureaucracy to regulate and deal with. OK! OK! I hear you hollering at me, yes over the years we have put in place some programs for those who are advanced and for those that fall behind. But if you look at the numbers they are a very small minority. We teach the all majority the same way.

So whats the solution?

I have some Ideas, but first and foremost is not doing what we are doing now. My idea would be to get rid of the Department of Education and turn the running of the schools back to the states. (This is not a new idea just one that has not been tried) This then puts education in the same boat as any business is in. Different states, different laws different outcomes. If a state wants a better outcome it does not have to wait for the slow arm of the Federal government to come to the rescue. It can act. Try ideas, if they work, great and if not try something else. We need innovation and that never comes from a bureaucracy!

Outlaw teachers unions and or associations that do not allow individual Teachers to negotiate on their own, and get rid of tenure. Test the teachers, and if they fail get them training, if they still fail, move out the door. Why would we want people teaching our children if they don't know anything? The teaching process is supposed to mold our children into adults with the tools to join in the work force. If they are not taught how can they work, if they cannot work how can they lead?

Get the teachers pay up to match the private sector. We want the best not the rest when it comes to teachers. Why not pay them well for a good job? The private sector will be employing the students anyway! ( yes I know some students will take the easy road and go work for the government, but would it not be nice if they knew something too?)

Innovation in the classroom. Get computers in there, teach the teachers how to teach using all our senses, visual, hearing, touching etc. that way you have a much bigger chance of reaching all the students in the class. Let students work at their own pace. If you get some that are always ahead plan to give them more and challenging things to learn and study in their grade level. For students struggling, this is where the teach really earns their keep! With more time to give to one on one tutoring, a student having problems gets the help they need, or finding programs for those that just are not capable of doing standard work. Combine elementary courses together. In the real world we use reading, writing and math usually all at the same time. We don't stop, pull out a bunch of other items to do math and then another switch to read etc.

Make the day longer for 5th grade on up. Increase the class time an hour a day. Then get the school year to Run from After Labor day to before Memorial day. All the teacher conventions and workshops can be done in the summer time. Make teaching a year round full time job, if we get the pay up, teachers will not have to find work for the summer and have three months to innovate for the coming year as well as keeping up their certifications.

I am sure there are more and far better ideas out there but we need to give the teachers the incentive, the motivation and most of all the ability to innovate. If we don't, soon we will have to get the Chinese to do all our daily work!

Will it work? What we have now is not working.

In the world according to a PISA 2003 study, in Math we rank 28 out of 41 countries! Reading 18 out of 41, Science 22 out of 41 and problem solving 29 out of 41.

I don't think that has gotten any better over the last 6 years. Unicef compared public education in 24 nations in 2002. Forty years earlier America had the highest Graduation rate, in 2002 it ranked 19th! Good job huh? How long do we go on before someone actually steps forward and starts to pose solutions.

inxs@gondtc.com (R. I bet there will be a lot of ruminating then! My least favorite word today is Congress. I used to tell a joke that pretty much sums up what congress really is.

If the opposite of Pro is Con then the opposite of Progress is Congress.

But I digress...

What is really eating R. Gilbert Grape today? Well Lots of stuff but two items in particular. We are a representative Republic. We select our Representative's by vote. The one with the majority of the votes we send to Washington. They pass laws by voting on them and they pass with a majority and go the President for signature to make them law. The president is elected by a majority. TV and Radio programs make money by being the most listened to, by listeners, in the majority. So please then, splain to me how it is 5.49% of North Dakotan s have been able to take over the State Board of Higher Education and effectively lock out the other 94% from being heard?

Friday State board of Higher Education put an end to a legal fight over the Nickname for the University of North Dakota. It is no longer the Fighting Sioux. First it was the NCAA that stated they did not want to participate, basically, with a college that has a nickname that is basically in their view racist. One tribe in North Dakota voted that they supported the nickname. One refused to have a vote because of other things more important to deal with. So basically it is because of one man on one reservation that we are forced to change the nickname of UND and its logo!

What the hell is going on here? Payback!

Lets be honest, its payback for what we did to the Indians. I am sorry, I did nothing to them, and neither did my ancestors as they were not here. What was done to the Indian Population came at the hands of the Federal Government and they as usual screwed it up so bad that 150 years later we are still dealing with it! I do hate to remind anyone that the Local indigenous population lost the war. They are a small Minority. Get over it and join the rest of the human race and move on. I have Scottish blood in my veins and have ancestors who lost too. We survived, but not on Government handouts.

What is wrong with this nickname anyway. It is not derogatory, the Sioux were Fighters and they were good at it, that is up till the end when they lost. Our State name is a Sioux Name from the Dakota language meaning "friend", are we going to have to change that too? Having a major State University with accents on Law and Medicine named the Fighting Sioux is actually a great Honor! They Were warriors, and the analogy of fighting can also be done so on the athletic field of battle. The warrior head logo is a proud representation of the indigenous population. This basic image is also the logo for the States Hiway system do we have to change that too?

The minority controls the majority. This is not right and I fault the North Dakota Higher Education board with capitulation. They say its time to move on, but what does this send as a message to the students of UND, if a minority is against you, quit? Is that what they teach at the UND School of Law?

I have said it before and I will say it again, between the outrageous Political Correctness that is going on across our nation and the way the current administration does what it wants even if the people are against it, it feels like I am living in a third world nation. I am sick of it.

I want payback too! I want the Minnesota Vikings to change their name, and logo. Its disgusting to my Norwegian ancestors and I am in a Minority in the USA and I want it gone. Its disgusting, it tries to imply that my ancestors were fighters and angry and conquerors.... yes they were but I don't want them to be remembered for that. I want people to think of the Vikings as a people who lived off the land, hunted and fished and lived an wonderful life with nature.

Don't want to buy into that line? Why not its the same line that worked on the North Dakota State board of Higher education with the Sioux! What is good for the Indian is good for the Viking too.

On to number two.

Tiger Woods should retire in my humble opinion. What idiots we are to buy into the load of crap he peddled for the last 9 years. You know what I am talking about! Nice guy, very competent, steel-eyed emotions. Yet this man all the time was cheating, not just on his wife but on his family. Not once but 12, 15, 18 times! He had affairs with other women from the other women he had affairs with. Now he is back. He lost. He lost to Phil Mickelson. While Tiger was out seeing who was next on his Women s Conquer List, Phil was holding hid family together trough some very trying time. His wife had breast cancer. His mother has Breast cancer. Phil did not go out to conquer the known universe of women but instead stayed at home with his Wife and Mom, gave them love and support. Kind of really makes Tigers place in humanity just a bit tarnished. I cannot watch him anymore.

On one hand the minority has won a victory, on the other hand, victory is snatched from the one whose hands are dirty with deceit!

Ain't life Grand?

inxs@gondtc.com (R. See you do remember! How long did it take before all through the teen world, the tween world and the world of adults with teen minds (the 20's) started saying hey Oral Sex is not sex. I wonder where they got that idea? Now, Years later President Clinton is the Poster Child for Testosterone excess.

For good or bad what we say has consequences. How down and out were we as a country during the days of the most ineffectual Carter Administration. Other countries took our people while we felt totally helpless. With the leadership in Washington at that time we were pretty much defenseless. It does seem that whenever the Democrats get in power we are always backpedaling, making compacts to reduce out weapons, downgrading our army, navy and reserves.

Today President Obama signed a treaty with Russia to par down our Nuclear weapons. For good or bad the Congress has to agree before its ratified. Obama has decided that we can no longer call Military Islamic's, terrorists, Or for that mater even reference that they are Islamic. It matters not that this so called religion is just an excuse for testosterone overloaded middle east males to be Lord and Master over their Wives. The very book they hold holy tells them to kill anyone who is not a believer. But that doesn't matter to Obama. we have to treat them fair, to be kind and to apologize for what ever we have done to them to cause them to hate us. (I am sorry but we were not even around when they wrote their holy book) Across the globe the Islamic Fascists, maniacs and religious nuts are having a field day! They are empowered to the point that they can do anything and even right here in our country.

Mohammed Al-Madadi from Qatar shows the result. A diplomat in our country with diplomatic immunity, has such little respect four our county, its laws and our fight against Islamic Terrorism that he pokes fun of our fear of them. (do they know something we don't?) He not only lights up a cigarette on an airliner headed for Denver but then jokes about lighting his shoe on fire in supposed reference to the shoe bomber.

When we give the enemy reason to feel good about their very existance in our country it is bound to lead us to more and ever more dangerous situations like the Mohammed Al-Madadi affair.
When we start acting like the weak kid in the sandbox, we are going to get sand kicked in our face. I think the sand is getting more and more dangerous every day.

This episode Pod Cast

inxs@gondtc.com (R. Everyonce in a while something really gets my ear and/or eye and I feel I have to blog. That explains why this blog comes and goes I guess. I really want to restart the experiamnce again and I do thingk my life has slowed down enough and stable enough for me to try this again.

And then of course there is Obama, you know President Hussein!

But that is for tomorrow.

Right now a reminder that tomorrow is Tartan day!

What the heck is that? Yes I can hear you!!!

On March 9, 2005, the House of Representatives unanimously adopted House Resolution 41, which designates April 6th of each year as "National Tartan Day.” National Tartan Day was created to recognize the contributions that were made by Scottish-Americans to the development of the United States.

H.Res.41 Chief Sponsors were Congressmen Mike McIntyre from North Carolina and John Duncan from Tennessee. In addition to the two chief sponsors, the resolution had 54 co-sponsors, which include Congresswoman Candice Miller of Michigan, Congressman Danny K. Davis of Illinois and Congressman Alcee Hastings of Florida, who all addressed the House of Representatives in favor of the resolution.

So be sure to wear tartan something tomorrow! What actually is a tartan? It is a plaid that when folded at right angles to itself repeats the same pattern. I can be of m any colors or as few as you like.

Who cares and why?

Tartan and the Kilt are symbols of Scotland and thus icons of Freedom for over 600 years. Scotsman and their heirs were instrumental in the forming of the USA!

From the Tartan day Website:
When the Scots immigrated to America, they brought with them a great passion for liberty. Patrick Henry, of Scottish descent, so eloquently embraced this spirit for freedom in his famous quote, "Give me Liberty or Give me Death."

In the American Revolution, more than half of the soldiers of the Colonial Army were Presbyterians and Calvinists, and many historians refer to the American Revolution as being 'a Scottish Rebellion,' or as one historian said, 'John Calvin was the virtual founder of America.'

Nine of the first 13 Governors, all the members of the First American Cabinet, 11 US Presidents and 35 Supreme Court Justices had Scottish ancestry.

On the bench of the first sitting of the Supreme Court in 1789 sat two Scottish Americans - John Blair and James Wilson. Two of the jurists present on this case were also of Scottish descent, John Rutledge and John Marshall. These jurors served as second and third justices of the court.

Alexander Hamilton is one of the most influential Scots in American history. His father was Scottish and he himself was born in the British colony of Nevis, located in the West Indies. One of the main authors of the Federalist essays - instrumental in the forming of the Constitution - he became the first US Secretary of the Treasury. Hamilton developed an impressive and effective financial plan that created immediate faith in the government of a new nation.

For more information go to: http://www.tartanday.org/influence.htm

inxs@gondtc.com (R. He spoke eloquently, however said nothing. Platitudes and great sounding sound bites all in a row. Today he provided an insight into how he really thinks or does not think. He signed a few executive orders, having to do with the closing of Gitmo and how to handle detainees. In both instances he looked like he had never read or even seen these documents before. He had to ask legal consol about what they meant.

This shows a dangerous precedent.

The president is supposed to be a leader. Making hard decisions.

Obama acts like a CEO of one of the giant firms he would like to put out of business.

If he really is going to act like a CEO and let his minions do the work, then we have the socialist version of Eisenhower on our hand.

The upside of this is maybe Obama will spend a lot of time working out and less time socializing the most successful Capitalistic Society the worked has ever known!

Its a long four years my friend. Like the victims of 911 families are finding out today, elections do have consequences. In the next few weeks there will be a lot of people asking themselves, what the Hell have we done?

Sorry Its too late. Better Luck next Time!

inxs@gondtc.com (R.
