‘Cursed’ Netflix series: Analytical review

Netflix released its new Fantasy adventure drama ‘Cursed’ on 17 July 2020.It was one of the most hyped show from Netflix. Katherine Langford plays the lead role in the show along with Devon Terrell as Arthur, Gustaf Skarsgård as Merlin, Daniel Sharman as Weeping Monk/Lancelot, Sebastian Armesto as Uther Pendragon, Lily Newmark as Pym, Shalom Brune-Franklin as Igraine/Morgana, and Peter Mullan as Father Carden. The series portrays the medieval period, before King Arthur. It is an Arthurian tale which based on a sword which is considered the symbol for the power. It consists of ten episodes having a run time ranges between 40 to 60 minutes.

ABOUT

Feys are different creatures similar to humans. Nimue is a fey girl tries to run away from the village. Red palatins, the church army, tries to wipe out the feys and hold the supreme power by taking the sword in possession. Red palatins attacks Nimue’s village and kills people including her mother. As per her mother’s last wish Nimue escapes from the village to hand over the sword to a man called Merlin. The Iceland king and the king of pendragons are also trying to capture the sword. During the journey, she had to face lots of challenges and overcomes different problems. Who is Merlin? Is Nimue able to hand over the sword to him? What were the problems she faced during travel? First season of cursed discusses all these questions. Watch and find out the answers.

POSITIVES

The base story of the show is an interesting factor. The show is already stated that it is an Arthurian story, before the king Arthur wielded the sword. And during the beginning it says before Arthur the king the power of sword chosen a queen. Cursed is trying to convey the story of that unknown woman called lady of the lake. Lots of TV shows are based on King Arthur, but it is a fresh one as it stated.

Medieval periodic dramas are always focused on a king or kingdom or the wars they led. But this one upholds a feministic nature by focusing on the evolution of an ordinary woman into the Queen. Even Game of thrones shows the story of Daenerys Targaryen it is not completely focused on that or never showed a feministic nature. This one makes a difference by considering the story of a Queen.

Cinematography and Visuals are the important factors to be mentioned. Even at some lagging portions, good visuals and cinematography helps to keep the viewer engaged. It has a good graphic novel style which makes it visually important.

NEGATIVES

The show is very slow at the beginning which had nothing interesting to convey. First few episodes are boring and lagging to a great extent. It kills the interest to watch the further and there are lots of unnecessary scenes which again make the show boring. Predictability is also a great problem which hinders the enjoyment. It offers no exciting twists or events.

VFX is an important thing for this kind of series. But here the VFX quality is not much great. There is a scene in which Nimue fights with wolves. We could feel lack of good visual effects clearly in this scene.

The fights are not much engaging and not well choreographed. Some fights are satisfying but most of them are not, especially, Katherine Langford’s fight scenes. She performs not too well in the fights.

For a woman oriented story a strong performance from the lead actress is the back bone. But Katherine fails in portraying a strong leading queen role. Her performance in emotional and romantic scenes was really good but couldn’t provide best as Fey Queen.

Other important characters are not explained well or didn’t get much space to exhibit them. This is a main drawback and affects in understanding and enjoying the whole story. Proper character explanation is needed to create an attachment with audience. This drawback pulls down the effect of show.

OVERALL VERDICT AND RATING (STRICTLY PERSONAL)

Those who are interested in fantasy-periodic dramas can try this one. It is enjoyable if you watch without any expectations. Even though it lags first becomes interesting after few episodes. It is a good story with some troubles in execution. Overall it is good but not great.

Breathe season 1 starring Madhavan and Amith sadh in lead roles was one of the well-known thriller series from Amazon prime. So expectations were high from the announcement of its second season. Season one ends with the completion of the story it showed. Season two is a new story with the same police officer in the main lead (Amith sadh).Breathe into the shadows is a crime thriller drama released in Amazon prime on July 10, 2020. Abhishek Bachan and Nithya Menen are the newly added lead actors in the renewed season. Amidh Sadh plays the role of the police officer role, Kabir sawant, same as in the first season. Abhishek Bachan acts as Dr. Avinash Sabharwal who also helps police in certain crucial cases. Nithya Menen plays the role of Abha Sabharwal, Wife of Avinash. The show is created and directed by Mayank Sharma and produced by Abundantia Entertainment. It consists of 12 episodes with running duration ranging between 40 to 60 minutes.

ABOUT

Dr. Avinash Sabharwal is a psychiatrist, who also helps police in investigations with his knowledge in psychology. Abha is his wife and a leading chef. Siya is their six year old daughter. Their happy life comes to a turn when siya is got kidnapped by an unknown man. After ten months, the kidnapper contacts them and insists to fulfill his conditions. Avinash had to commit crimes to protect his daughter. Things becomes more complicated when Kabir Sawant take over the crime cases. Who kidnapped siya? What are the crimes that the kidnapper made Avinash to commit? Did he able to protect siya? How Kabir deal with the case? The show explains the answers to these questions.

GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE SHOW

The story line of the series is good. Although it developed in a poor manner, the story that it intended to convey is good enough. The flash back, present and the story of Kabir all is connected in a good manner. It is the first good thing to mention.

The story is able to give a justification to the characters, especially villain and the crimes he committed. It is always a good factor that there is a reason behind all. In this season a well reason is given and it is showed well. Lack of a good justification is present in the last season for most of the characters.

The main twist of the show is interesting. And it has enough thrilling moments. But at some times it fails to keep the audience with the flow of story. It is less thrilling compared to the first season except the last few episodes. The Climax of this season is far better than the first one. Climax episodes are interesting and thrilling.

NEGATIVES OF THE SHOW

The development of the story is done in a poor manner. It is tagged as a crime thriller but the show follows a dramatic mood more. Dramatic moments are more compared to thrilling moments.

Lack of freshness and predictability are other problems with this show. There are lot of movies and series based on kidnapping child and forcing to do crimes. This one too follows the same pattern and almost predictable. An exception is the twist at the end of fifth episode.

Even though it had a good story with a twist, it didn’t portray well. The twist was interesting but they reveal it before the story progress. After that, there is nothing interesting to make the audience watch further. But somehow they managed to build a good and thrilling climax.

Unwanted scenes ruin the flow. Over promotion of brands and institutions were annoying. Certain restaurants, hotels, shops were highlighted more than actually it needed. It felt annoying when it is repeated. There are 12 episodes totally .It would be better if the episodes were reduced by eliminating the unnecessary scenes.

PERFORMANCE OF ACTORS

Amith sadh played his role well. His performance was not good enough in the last season. But in this season he nailed as Kabir. Abhishek Bachan tried well. His performance at the climax portions were really good even it was not much good at the beginning.Nithya Menen also done well as Abha. All the other characters played their roles neatly.

OVERALL VERDICT AND RATING (STRICTLY PERSONNEL)

Overall the show is just watchable. Thrilling moments are few compared to first season. And lot of predictability there. But have a good story and an interesting climax. Even though it becomes boring at some points, it is a one-time watchable series for all type of audience.

Breathe is an Indian thriller series released in Amazon Prime on January 26, 2018.R.Madhavan,Amith Sadh, Sapna pabbi and Neena Kulkarni plays the main roles. It is a crime thriller genre which depicts the adventures of a father to save his son from premature death. How much an innocent man can be cruel enough to save his loved one? This show is merely based on this question and the paths that the man takes for his aim. It shows a hero turning into villain situation where the audience is confused whether to consider him as a hero or villain. Madhavan plays the character Danny, the innocent and desperate father who turned evil for his son. Breathe is the second original series from Amazon prime whereas the first was ‘Inside edge’ released in 2017.The first season consists of eight episodes with a running time ranges between 30 to 40 minutes. First season ends with completion of the story. A second season for Breathe, with a new story and starring Abhishek Bachchan is all ready to release on July 10, 2020.

ABOUT

Denzil "Danny" Mascarenhas, A football coach, is struggling to keep his son Josh alive from Lung disorder. Aruna is the doctor of Josh, and Danny’s girlfriend. She informs that Josh is fourth on the lung recipient list and there is maximum six months for josh to get saved. Since his blood group is a rare one, it is a tough task to reach the first position. Danny decides to save josh at any cost which turned him into a serial killer who murders the organ donors with that blood group. In parallel, story of Kabir Sawant a depressed and alcoholic a police officer is also shown. He lost his daughter due to his own mistakes, which he thinks, and this turned him an alcoholic. When he was on the verge of divorce he had to take over the case and which ultimately lead to a cat and mouse game between Danny and Kabir. Watch the series to know what happened next and how it ended.

POSITIVES OF THE SHOW

It is an engaging thriller. That is the prime factor to watch the show. There is lot of thrilling, nail-biting, seat edge moments in the show which makes you enthralled throughout. It can be said as a spine chiller with necessary elements to engage a thriller fan.

The tension buildup and the twists included in the show are best ones to be mentioned (some twists are predictable too).As it is a crime thriller there is something which triggers you to watch the show. Some methods chosen by Danny to eliminate his victims are shocking and breathtaking. This keeps you glued to the seat until the show is over.

Technical aspects are good. The direction, cinematography and especially the intriguing back ground music helped to raise the show to a technically good one.

It conveys a social message about the need and importance of organ donation. It implicitly criticizes the people those who are reluctant to donate organs on the basis of some religious believe. The team deserves real appreciation for talking about this problem.

NEGATIVES OF THE SHOW

The story is basically a mix of some other movies which we have seen many times. This drawback increases the predictability of the show to a great extent. Even the climax twist became predictable. Almost all the events, except the killing methods, felt seen somewhere. The character of Kabir Sawant, a depressed alcoholic police officer is the iconic symbol of all the thrillers nowadays. It is sad that the same pattern is followed here. The show becomes failure in presenting freshness in its events and characters.

Logical mistakes are the main things that can’t be avoided from a movie or series recently. Even though it doesn’t kill the entertainment or eagerness to watch the show, it is a mentionable one if we think more about the story.

The last episode destroyed the chance for the series to become a great thriller. It has a good story buildup which made us watch till the last episode. But the finale had nothing to offer other than a predictable cliché climax.

About the performance of cast:

Madhavan had done a great job. It was him who holds the life of the show. He deserves a good appreciation. The performances, other than Madhavan and Neena kulkarni, were not much impressive. Amith sadh failed to create an emotional feeling with his depression, which he was supposed to be. Sapna pabbi’s over dramatic acting some time felt like a mega serial-wife character. But the kid as Josh had done an outstanding performance compared to those main stream actors.

OVERALL VERDICT AND RATING

It will be a good one time experience for a thriller fan, without any expectation. It may be disappoint you with the climax and the predictable events but can be watch for a good thrilling experience.

Thriller movies are more spellbinding when it is mixed with magical elements. Magic has always a special power to surprise and excite its audience. By using magic as a theme or subject of a movie, exceptionally thrillers, there have chance in bringing the film to an extraordinary level of visual experience and Storytelling. A great magical story which succeeded all over the world and has huge fan base is Harry potter series. Daniel, Merritt, Henley and Jack, four finest magicians but are less known were brought together by an unknown man for a specific mission. It is a dark fantasy comedy movie. Lewis, Ten-year-old boy starts live with his weirdo uncle in a creaky old house that contains a baffling 'tick tock' sound. BEFORE YOU SEE DARK SEASON 3: RECAP AND EXPLANATION TILL SEASON 2

Dark, the most anticipated show of 2020, is coming to an end with its third and final season. Before watching dark season 3, let’s go through an overview of the last two seasons.

The Story of Dark is a dependent of its characters itself. The confusion and excitements given by the identity of each character is the backbone of Dark and of course it can be considered as the prime reason behind the enormous success of the show. So, identifying and remembering characters are the important factors before heading to season 3.

STUDY ON MAIN CHARACTERS

The characters are spread between 3 time lines in season 1 with a gap of 33 years: 2019, 1986 and 1953. In season 2, there are 4 time periods 1921,1954,1987,2020 and 2053.

Main events starts with the disappearance of mikkel, son of Ulrich from the city of Winden in 2019.He travelled back to 1986 through a worm hole connecting three periods. Ines kahnwald adopt him as her son and he grown up and become Michael of 2019.Michael is married to Hannah and Jonas is their son. They all belongs to the kahnwald family

But Mikkel of 2019 is the son of Ulrich Nielsen and Katherine Nielsen. Mikkel, Martha and Magnus are siblings. Tronte Nielsen and Jana are the parents of Ulrich. Ulrich had a brother who disappeared in 1986 and not yet been found. And Agnes Neilson, Mother of Tronte can be seen in 1956. Together they constitute the Nielsen Family.

Regina Tiedemann, a hotel manager in 2019 is the wife of Alexander Tiedemann, the director of the Winden nuclear power plant. Claudia, is the mother of Regina, was the director of the power plant in 1986.Regina and Alexander has a son, Bartosz. Egon Tiedemann, the father of Claudia was the chief inspector of Winden in 1986 period. His younger version can be found in 1956 along with his wife Doris Tiedemann. They together form the Tiedemann family.

Charlotte Doppler is the present Winden police chief (2019-20).Peter Doppler is her Husband .Elizabeth (deaf by birth) and Franzisca are their daughters. Helge Doppler is the father of Peter. His parents are Bernd Doppler and Greta Doppler, Bernd was the founder of nuclear power plant in 1956. They form the Doppler family.

Connection between the characters

Jonas, Martha, Magnus, Franzisca and Bartosz are teens in 2019-20 and are friends. Jonas and Martha were in love but later she became the lover of Bartosz. After Jonas rejoins the school, she again gets attached to Jonas. Francizca and Magnus are also in an affair.

Coming to their parents, Ulrich Nielsen and Charlotte Doppler are police officers working together. Ulrich is cheating his wife with Hannah, Jonas’s mother. Back in 1986, Hannah had a crush on Ulrich but he got attached to Katharina. These made her jealous and she faked a complaint against Ulrich by accusing him for raping Katharina. Egon, the police chief, who was not font with Ulrich, arrested him. Later Katharina justified it was not a rape and thus he get released. But Ulrich and Katharina misunderstood Regina (Granddaughter of Egon) for getting him caught with police and they treated her badly. On that events going on Mads, brother of Ulrich got missing. Claudia, the director of plant at that time, have a relation with Tronte Nielsen, Ulrich’s father.

Further going back, In 1953,we can see that little Tronte Nielsen and his mother, Agnes Nielsen renting a room from young Egon Tiedemann and Doris Tiedemann .Thus Claudia Tiedemann and Tronte Nielsen becomes friends and the relation continued. Meanwhile Agnes and Doris become closer.

An ambiguous character present in the first season is Noah. There is no proper explanation is given to Noah in the first season, rather than he appearing in all the three years in the same physic. But in second season it is revealed that he is the brother of Agnes Nielson. Also, nothing speaks about the identity of Charlotte Doppler. Later we come to know that H.G Tannhaus, the clock maker appearing in 1953/54 as young and in 1986/87 as old is the guardian of Charlotte.

RECAP THROUGH EXPLANATION OF MAIN STORY

Let’s look at the important events through the perspective of main characters (Only important events are discussed)

Children start missing from Winden in 2019. Ulrich investigates Mikkel’s disappearance. A body of a boy found with the eyes damaged, but was not Mikkel. Ulrich doubts the present disappearances with the ones happened 33 years ago including his brother Mads and comes across the fact that his dad Tronte Nielsen was sleeping with Claudia Tiedemann at the time of his disappearance. This information lead him to Regina Tiedemann (Claudia’s daughter), from whom he understands that it was Hannah who cheated him in 1986.Ulrich searches Egon Tiedemann’s diary (who investigated mads missing) and understands that he planned an interview with helge Doppler in 1986 but never happened. He doubts helge for the kidnaps and follows him which led him into the worm hole. Helge travels to 1986 whereas Ulrich reaches 1953 by mistake. There he meets little helge and tries to kill him for abducting children in future and dump his body in a bunker. But before escaping, he got arrested by the police and gets trapped in 1953.Meanwhile Helge travelled back to 1986 meets his younger self. It is revealed that Young Helge is kidnapping children for Noah. Helge was manipulated by Noah for the purpose of making a time machine and testing the time machine. Noah explained to him that it is all for a good future. Older helge tries to stop his younger self but Noah had a great influence on him. So Old helge crashes into young one’s car but he got killed and young one escapes.

Helge: little,adult,old

Meantime in 2019, Charlotte doubts her husband for lying about his activities during the time of kidnap. But the secret was that, it was Peter who found out the body of mads’s falling from nowhere into his bunker. He informed Tronte Nielsen and they met older Claudia in the bunker. She asked them help for correcting the time line. It was them who moved the body of mads into the woods. The body of different kids are turning up in the bunker at different time due to the experiment conducted by Noah and helge at the same time in past. Time travel tunnel is right under Helge’s basement that’s why they are doing experiment there.

Jonas of 2019, find out about time travel with the silent help of his future one. Adult Jonas is wandering in 2019 and 1986.He had a time travel machine which was broken. He travel through the worm hole and meets H.G Tannhaus in 1986, where Jonas ask him to repair the machine. The machine had a sign which indicated that it was made by him. But later it is revealed that Older Claudia from future gave him a design to make such a machine (in 1953). He gives it to the adult Jonas. Whereas, young Jonas travels back to 1986 and knows the truth about his father. He tries to bring Mikkel back but before that helge and Noah kidnap him and locks him in the experiment bunker. Where he sees his adult one and asks for help. But he refuses by saying that it should happen. Adult one goes back to 2019 and tries to destroy the worm hole using the time machine. But instead of being destroyed it closes only. The closing produces black hole above the tunnel (including the bunker) in all the three periods. This makes Jonas (at bunker in 1986) to see little helge (at the bunker in 1953, who wakes up after the attack of Ulrich) .But the space time glitch transfers Jonas to 2052(Post apocalypse Winden) and helge to the bunker in 1986.Noah then transfers little helge to 1954 (Little helge successes in travelling back unlike other kids). Thus Helge start to believe in Noah.

Jonas : young, Adult, Old (Adam)

Jonas, now in 2053, knows about the apocalypse at Winden on 27 June 2020.He wish to travel back to 2020 and stop the apocalypse by any means. But the people there believes in some prophecy and they are waiting for the opening of passage which bring them to paradise, A grown up, deaf young lady, Elizabeth Doppler (daughter of charlotte Doppler) is their leader. They try to stop Jonas from going back. He trespass into the half destroyed power plant (due to apocalypse) and sees a flooding sphere like object said to be god’s particle which he uses to go back. But unfortunately he ends up in 1921, where the tunnel is not yet been created. He meet teen Noah, who is a member of sic mundus (the time travellers).Adam is the leader of sic mundus. Later Jonas understands that Adam is his own older version who comes from future (probably 2085) for some purpose. He created a black hole similar object (like the one in the apocalyptic future) which enables time travel. He sends Jonas to 2019 to stop his father’s suicide which, he says, can change the future. But thing took a turn when Jonas meets Michael. It is revealed that it was Jonas (younger one) who brought little Mikkel to the cave (so there was two young Jonas present at 2019.Now also, the original one and returned one).Then Claudia visits them and says Michael’s suicide is necessary for the existence of Jonas and about the hidden agenda of Adam (i.e., to start the last cycle).And then he suicides, the events starts to repeat again. May be this version of younger Jonas was took Mikkel to the cave.

Claudia Tiedemann’s older version meets younger one at 1987 and tells her about the time travel. She hides the time machine under soil in 1954.Later young Claudia finds out this using the map provided by her older. Using that machine she travels to future and learns about Egon Tiedemann’s(her father) death in 1987.Whereas Egon in 1987 now understands time travel is possible(by talking with Ulrich who trapped in 1953 and living in a mental asylum in 1987).He starts to doubt the power plant about this. This creates fallout between young Claudia (who tries to save him from death) and Egon and unexpectedly Claudia kills him (not by purpose). Young Jonas meets depressed Claudia and asks her to join with him as per the wish of old Claudia. (Question arises how Jonas reached 1987.He was at 2019, trying to stop his father’s death. It is only possible to travel back 33 years. May be, After took Mikkel to the cave he may reached 1986.Lived there because he has no duplicate in 1986 and waited for right time to meet Claudia as per older Claudia’s words).They travels into 2020 to enter the bunker( Only those who are in the bunker will survive). Claudia meets her daughter Regina (adult) and brings her too to the bunker. Jonas goes to his home to bring his mother to the bunker.

Claudia : little, young, old

By this time almost all characters in 2020 knew about time travel. Hannah knows it from adult Jonas. He also informs it to Charlotte Doppler, Peter Doppler and Katharina. Hannah steals the machine from him and gets settled in 1957. Martha, Magnus and Franzisca know about time travel from Bartroz (he had a machine given by Noah).This machine is later taken by Katharina to Adult Jonas. He saves Magnus, Fransisca and bartosz with this machine during the apocalypse. [Note: An adult version of Magnus and Franzisca can be seen in 1921 with Adam. They may be working for Jonas who becomes Adam later]

So during the time of apocalypse Peter Doppler, Elizabeth Doppler, Claudia, Regina and also teen Noah from 1921 is present in the bunker.

Noah is the most mysterious character in the show. He was actually a teenager belongs in 1921.He joins with Adam to create a world without time. An adult version of Noah can be seen in many time periods. He is making a time machine in 1987.Actually he was only a small prawn in Adam’s big game. His sister Agnes Nielsen is working undercover for Old Claudia (she is against Adam). Agnes joins with Noah again to work with Adam (by Claudia’s instruction) in 1957.Noah kills Old Claudia (in 1957) and understands Charlotte Doppler is his daughter. Later it is revealed that Elizabeth (daughter of Charlotte) is Noah's future wife and Charlotte is their daughter (happens years after apocalypse).May be Charlotte was actually born in the future and it Adam or someone gave her to Tannhaus by coming to past. By knowing the truths, Noah turns against Adam but Agnes (Appears in the same physic as 1954) kills him, in 1921.Adam then transfers teen Noah to 2020 to enter in the bunker. Now teen Noah is in bunker along with Elizabeth without knowing about Adam's play (beginning of last cycle).

[Note that in 2020, Alexander (Real name is Boris Niewald but he impersonate as Alexander Köhler) is suspected by new police officer Clausen for the activities of plant. Later it is revealed that Alexander Köhler was actually Clausen’s brother who was gone missing. So he came to Winden in quest for his brother’s disappearance. ]

Clausen and team open the radioactive waste disposal but Charlotte tries to stop them because she knows the after effects .But they open the drums which has rock soiled with dark matter (There was an experiment conducted on god’s particle. These wastes were the remnants). This creates a portal which connects charlotte with Elizabeth in 1953.Meanwhile; Jonas meets Martha at his home, while he was searching for his mother. But it didn’t end up happily. Adam approaches there and kills Martha. He says the apocalypse will happen. Then surprisingly another Martha claims to be from another world, reaches there and escapes with Jonas using a ball like time travel machine. And finally the Black hole created over Winden ends up in an Apocalypse.

It is a murder mystery type miniseries which tells about the police investigation to trap a serial killer whose murders were exact copycat of another killings happened 25 years ago. POSITIVES

The show is realistic in nature. It realistically discusses the cases of FBI and the problems they had to face during old times, where methodologies were not legalized. It discusses numerous actual cases like Ed kimber, BTK killer etc.

It maintains a thrilling mood at certain portions which are apt to the situation. The show basically follows a dramatic mood although it is branded as a thriller. But the situations which includes the thrilling factors are portrayed well

Performance of most the actors were good. The actors who were performed the roles of prisoners were remarkable. It is their performance that made a thrilling and mysterious mood during the interview scenes.

The back ground music was done its purpose well. It had a great part in setting up the mood of situations and generating curiosity

NEGATIVES

There are lots of unnecessary sequences included in the show. It would have been better if those scenes had been avoided. It made the show uninteresting at some points. It may feel lag at some portions due to the dramatic nature of the show. Since the show is realistic it doesn’t always follows a thriller mood. Dramatic events are more, which is a drawback when considering as a thriller. Also some cases are remained unsolved and unexplained because it is what really happened. But this realistic nature pulls down viewer’s interest, which is a major disadvantage.

The main reason this series is so awaited is because of the production company ‘Red Chillies Entertainment’ established by Bollywood superstar Shah-rukh khan in 2003.The show consists four episodes with duration ranging between 40 to 50 minutes.So it can be said that show has a duration which is slightly more than a cinema. It gained more publicity before its release because of the genre in which the show belong.it is announced as the first Bollywood zombie thriller series. The show is basically a horror thriller which depicts zombie attack.

PLOT

The Military team led by Vikram sirohi is assigned by his senior officer Tyagi .A job to evacuate the Protestants from an old village where the work to build a highway road is progressing. The contractor claims the villagers are naxals and asks to execute the rebels. But the villagers have an unleashed secret behind the tunnel which the workers are trying to open. They tries to resist them from opening it.with the arrival of sirohi and team the story took a turn and that night becomes the deadliest night in their life. The main questions are what is inside the tunnel and why the villagers are trying to resist them? How the danger behind the tunnel affects them? Show gives the answers.

IS THE SHOW IS THAT MUCH BAD

It depends. There are factors which will make you interested towards the show as well as uninterested.

POSITIVES TO WATCH

1) Cinematography: In one word - Amazing! It is the best work in the show. The visuals, the frames etc. were remarkable. The cinematographer really deserves an appreciation. Some visuals from the movie ‘Tumbaad’were recalled. Totally it was a good work.

2) Direction: The direction was also fine. Even though it becomes down at the end, the overall direction was adequate. Succeed to make the show thrilling throughout.

3) Thrills: This show is thrilling from the beginning. And mysterious also.it keeps us curious throughout the entire show. Even though the show has many mistakes it tried well to keep the thrills.

4) Concept: A zombie thriller series is a fresh idea to put forward in Netflix India. There are investigation thrillers, Acton thrillers, horror thrillers sci-fi series, etc. But a horror thriller wrapped up in zombie background is really an interesting plot.

5) Story line: Story is filled with mysteries, from the beginning. Traditional believes, Indian independence history (imaginary) etc. is merely explained in the story. Most of the story is based on the events happening in single night.

DRAWBACKS

1) The last two episodes were felt as the main drawback of the show. First two episodes were really interesting and it will make us curious to know rest of the story. But in the last two episodes they failed to deliver something new and exciting. It had a good story line, but fails in script.

2) Repeatability is a main flaw in last two episodes. The characters were intended to wander in an old bungalow most of the time. And they had nothing to do other than fear, fire gun and run. Same thing repeating again and again becomes annoying

3) Logical mistakes ruin the entire flavor of the show. So much of logical mistakes kill the interest and effect of thrills.

4) Predictability is more near to the end. If the cliché scenes were omitted it would have been better. Even though it keeps the thrills, events became predictable which creates disappointment.

5) Duration is very less compared to the story it had to tell. If one more episode was added with proper explanation to some scenes it would have been better.

RECOMMENDED TYPE OF AUDIENCE

It is not everyone’s cup of tea! Thriller lovers should try this because it delivers thrills throughout. even though it fails in logic and script. And those who interested in a visual treat and well-choreographed show rather than a story based one can also take a look. It is not recommended for those who expect a perfect horror thriller with great story. Those who interested in a fresh concept can try it to know whether this zombie thriller is up to your expectation or not.

OVERALL VERDICT AND RATING

It may not satisfy all.But it was a good attempt to deliver a zombie thriller based on myth and history. The attempt must be appreciated. And it tried well to keep up the thrills. Overall, it is a watchable show.

Personally it didn’t disappointed us.so many people waited for this series. So those who interested in the concept should watch it. It may not disappoint you.

ASUR Is an Indian crime thriller series released on Voot select in Hindi language. It is basically an investigation thriller regarding serial killings. It was released on march 2,2020. The show is directed by oni sen,written by Gaurav Shukla along with Niren Bhatt and Abhijeet Khuman. Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti plays the lead roles as Dhananjay Rajput and Nikhil Nair respectively.The rest of the cast include Ridhi Dogra as Nusrat Saeed ,Anupriya Goenka as Naina Nair ,Sharib Hashmi as Lolark Dubey ,Pawan Chopra as Shashank Awasthi,Amey Wagh as Rasool Shaikh,Gaurav Arora as Kesar Bharadwaj Vishesh Bansal as Shubh(child),etc. The series is about the investigation led by CBI team to catch a serial killer who commits murders in a particular manner at different places and the problems faced by the team in the journey. ASUR season 1 consists of 8 episodes with duration of 40 to 50 minutes.

PLOT

Nikhil Nair, a former forensic expert in CBI, now working as a forensic teacher abroad. Nikhil had to leave CBI due to a dispute with his mentor Dhananjay Rajput. He had to come back to the CBI for the investigation regarding a serial killer who commits brutal murders, because he was the one who got anonymous information about the killings. With the arrival of Nikhil, the investigation took a turn and some unexpected events happen. Who is the serial killer? What is his connection with Nikhil? What happens after Nikhil get involved in the investigation? What is his problem with his mentor? The eight thrilling episodes of ASUR are the answers for these questions.

ALL GOODS ABOUT ASUR: NO SPOILER

1) An interesting story line: the main plot of ASUR is much interesting. A story about serial killings and the investigation is not a fresh subject but ASUR differs in how the killings are established and on what basis the killings are done. Also there is a change in the usual investigation routine

2) Thrilling and engaging: The best quality of this series is it makes the viewers engaged and curious about the next event. It is thrilling from its first episode to the last. Thriller tag is hundred percent fit to this series.

3) Suspense and twists: It has good twists which makes us eager to know the rest of the story. And it is suspenseful from the beginning itself. The mystery reveals slowly as the story progresses.

4) Direction: The overall direction is good, but not the best. Can be improved. But the director succeed in making a thrilling feel throughout the show

SOME MAJOR DRAWBACKS

To an investigation thriller, it is important to make the events logical and explicit. But ASUR had a large fall in this area. Some areas of the story are not logically connectable. And some are not understandable. For example; Major part of an investigation is based on a simple instinct of the character Dhananjay. But it doesn’t clear that on what basis he made that assumption. Also when, after the murder is done in an impossible situation it is not explained how the killer could do that without getting into trouble. Unexplained assumptions, lack of clarity and non-logical situations are the main draw backs of this series. Also it becomes more predictable near the end

NB: The performance of some of the actors were really good and some are below the expectations.so it is not included in positives or negatives

RECOMMENDED TYPE OF AUDIENCE

Thriller lovers who want to get thrilled only without considering much logic can watch this. It may not preferred by all thriller lovers but they can also have a try. Because it will not disappoints in the matter of thrills. And it offers a different plot and base. So all thriller lovers can give a try.

Overall a complete thriller ride. But can’t be consider as a perfect thriller due to the logical mistakes. But it is worth to watch since it is offering an interesting plot with eight thrilling episodes

This was the first high profile case assigned to him in his entire service life.so he decides to find the truth. As the investigation progresses, it leads him into other dark mysteries and so many hidden truths. Also he had to deal with some family issues during this time. Who is Sanjeev Mishra? Who are those tried to kill him? Who is behind them? Why they want him dead? What are the stories of the accused ones? What are the problems that Hathiram has to face during investigation? Nine episodes of Paatal lok is the answers for these questions.

SOCIAL IMPORTANCE

The series has a good story line. It discusses the current social and political situations in India explicitly. The untold and terrible incidents that the minorities has to face, is well portrayed in this show. It clearly tells about the discrimination and cruelties that the lower caste has to face in uncivilized parts of the country. And about how criminals are born from such an oppressed situation. It also discusses the dark mysteries behind political strategies and competitions. Moreover it discusses the dark side of Medias, the games played by them for their well-being by fooling people and also about their corporate and political alliances. This show discusses much more social, political and religious anarchies which makes it a socially relevant and must watch one.

REASONS TO WATCH

As mentioned earlier, this show is a social relevant one. This will helps to understand about the social problems existing in the country. Good scripting is the next important factor to be metioned.a well written crime thriller script with social problems, and family emotions is really appreciable. The twists and suspense are other positives of the show. This keeps us engaged throughout. It is shooted entirely in a realistic mood. Here the main character hasn’t any super hero power. It is an American psychological horror thriller series premiered in Apple TV+ on November 28,2019.It is written and directed by Tony basgallop. M.Night syamalan, the famous American director and actor is the executive producer of the show along with its director. The series is about the Mr. Sean,his family and their mysterious servant Leanne. Toby Kebbell plays the role of Sean, Lauren Ambrose as Dorothy and Nell Tiger Free as Leanne Grayson. Rupert Grint also plays an important role as Julian Pearce, Dorothy's brother, Sean's brother-in-law. Only one season is released yet. It consists of ten episodes having duration of 30 to 40 minutes. Apple TV is renewed ‘servant’ for a second season but there is no official announcement of production and release yet.

MAIN PLOT

Mr. Sean turner and and Mrs. Dorothy turner decides to appoint a nanny to look after their new born baby Jericho. Leanne Grayson’s arrival as their new servant brings about a set of mysterious and frightful events to Sean. Her mysterious behavior and the strange events occurred makes Sean more suspicious about her. 1) Direction: It is well a made series with very less budget. Most part of the story is happening at a house. And there are only few characters. Director doesn’t add any unwanted characters. The story progresses in a dark mood which makes the scenes more mysterious.

1) No Horror elements at all, even it is tagged under horror genre. But is it is mysterious enough to make interesting.

2) Simple story, which is a main drawback, But the plot twists helps to overcome it.Even though It is thrilling enough the main story line is simple and weak.And,may be due to this, we may feel lag at certain portion.

It has a total of eight episodes. It is based on the novel written by Gillian Flynn in the same name. Amy Adams plays the lead role along with Patricia Clarkson, Eliza Scanlen, Chris Messina, Matt Craven, Taylor John Smith, Henry Czerny, Miguel Sandoval, Madison Davenport, Will Chase, Jackson Hurst, Lulu Wilson,Sophia Lillis, and Elizabeth Perkins as co-stars. The series received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers also it has got eight nominations at the 71st Prime time Emmy Awards.

ABOUT

The story is about Camille preaker, a newspaper reporter who is suffering from alcoholism and slowly recovering from it.she is sent to her native town, wind gap by her editor to investigate and make report about a brutal murder happened there. 1) The direction: The director had done a wonderful job. The entire series goes in a dark mood with lot of mysteries hiding. As the story progresses we could understand the emotional traumas that Camille has been went through. The director made everything mysterious at the beginning and become exciting at the end. Each character has given different shades and made mysterious enough. The story progress in a dark mood which makes it more mysterious

2) Performance: Amy Adams as Camille preaker has done hundred percent justice to her character. She portrays the different emotional layers of the character, i.e., with the family, with friends, in job etc. at its best. Viewers can easily understand and also connect with that character’s emotions .That shows the perfection of Amy Adams as Camillie.Also Patricia Clarkson as Adora, Camille’s mother and Eliza Scanlen as Amma, Camille’s sister, has also done a remarkable performance.

3) Story and Suspense: Suspense plays a major role in making the series more interesting. We have so many questions at the beginning. As the story progress it becomes more mysterious and we will be thrilled to know the answers about the murders and also about the mysteries behind each character.

The well acclaimed,well received ,South Korean movie.Directed by Bong Joon Ho,a south Korean film maker.His films usually portrays social themes,black humor etc.This movie is incorporated in a genre of black comedy.But this movie can't be limited to a single genre(in our opinion).The entire movie follows a lot of genres,emotions, like humor,drama,thrill,sentimental etc. Bong joon ho's films are mostly genre-mixtures,so as this, and socially important too.on 21 may 2019 it was premiered at the 2019 canns film festival,where it acquired palm d'Or(the highest prize awarded at the festival) and became the first south Korean movie which received that award.And on 10 February 2020,it has received four Oscars(best picture,director,screen play,best foreign language film) and became the first ever non English movie to achieve this honor.

THE THEME

The main theme of the movie is the conflict between upper class and lower class,social inequality and wealth disparity.The movie discusses the life of two families,Park family and Kim's family.Parks are wealthier, lead a luxurious life style where kims belong to the poorer and tries hardly to meet the ends.when kims family got and opportunity to sneak into parks family,how did they utilize this,how it turned out to be,what are unexpected events that they had to face?The movie answers it all.The name parasite is crooked too.(director brilliance?)who are the parasites?watch and decide.

IS IT AN ENTERTAINER?

Absolutely yes!it also an amazing entertainer while it discusses about social conditions.Also the narration and making style of the movie is good.It had a lot of good frames,camera angles etc.

It is good in its all technical aspects too.The performance of all the artists were excellent.Song Kang-ho as Kim Ki-taek, father of the Kim family Choi Woo-shik as Kim Ki-woo, son of the Kim family

Park So-dam as Kim Ki-jung , daughter of the Kim family were amazing.Already its Oscar awarded so no need to talk about screenplay and direction,they are fabulous.The screenplay makes the movie entertaining and engaging while it also portrays the social problems and conveying a good message.

WHY SHOULD YOU WATCH THIS

As discussed earlier, it is a mixture of all genres so everyone can a look at this.even the thriller lovers,humor lovers and all.it won't disappoint you.Parasite received 4 Academy awards this year, and that is not a mean accomplishment! Leaving a mark on the world at the Oscars by winning the best film award as a remote film unexpectedly. Only it depicts how much this film has been commended by the pundits, the business individuals and us ; the crowd. This is one of those uncommon motion pictures where larger part of us have a similar supposition about. It's engaging, exciting, with some dull turns and some upsetting scenes also that will clearly have an effect in your brain. ANNABELLE COMES HOME: IS IT WORTH TO WATCH? AN OVERVIEW

Annabelle comes home is the third installment in Annabelle series and seventh installment in the conjuring universe. It came to theaters on 28^th June 2019 and received mixed reviews. Critics rated it as an average movie from the conjuring universe. The movie has got a good box office collection. It collected around 220 million dollars around a budget of 32 million. Current IMDb rating is 6.2. Rotten tomatoes gave a rating of 66% and book my show rating is 63%. It’s digital release was on last week. Now some of us are confused that the movie is good to watch or not. So let’s have a quick view around it and decide whether it is worth to watch or not.

So WHAT IS ANNABELLE 3 ALL ABOUT?

As the name suggests (Annabelle comes home) it’s about the events happening after bringing the Annabelle doll to Warren’s family. We all know Annabelle stories are happened before conjuring. This events of this movie is happening 4 years later the Annabelle doll came to their house. Annabelle doll is placed in a sealed chamber inside warrens collection room of possessed objects. It is said that this doll is a beacon for other spirits. Warren’s daughter Judy is introvert in nature and it’s her birthday this weekend. Marry Ellen, main character played by Madison iseman, have to babysit Judy for a night while warrens go for another case. Danielle, played by Katie sarife, is Ellen’s friend, joins them for the advance birthday celebration. But Danielle has a secret agenda for her arrival. Which makes the night mysterious and terrific.

Madison iseman and Katie sarife plays their role very well, also McKenna grace is amazing as Judy. Gary dauberman, The writer of Annabelle 1, Annabelle creation, The nun, is also the writer and director of this film. It’s his directorial debut. He was a co-writer with James wan.

IS ANNABELLE 3 DIFFERENT FROM OTHER ANNABELLE MOVIES?

It is not an entirely different one but unique in its own way. It is mainly based on three characters Judy, Marry Ellen and Danielle. The story is about the events happening in a single day, which is a major difference. And in this movie, the story of Annabelle is not talked very much. It shows how powerful the Annabelle doll when it comes out. The first part of the movie was about mysterious events caused by the doll in a family, the second was about the origin and now the third shows how powerful it is. The movie follows the usual methods of a horror movie. Lights going out, silence, jump scares etc. also there. But the making is good so it doesn’t affect the appreciation.

INTERESTING THINGS TO WATCH

This movie talks about some other cases investigated by warrens. Like the bride’s dress, hell hound etc. and some characters are also introduced in the movie too. It is interesting and thrilling to watch. Even there are some cliché scenes there are interesting horror scenes too. Rather than horrifying us minute by minute it follows a horror mood which is more thrilling and interesting compared to the jump scares. The performance of all the actors were awesome. Their performance was one of the interesting things in the movie.

WHO ALL CAN WATCH THIS: GOOD AND BAD IN THE MOVIE

This movie is for all the conjuring series fans. Also for those who loves horror thriller movies. Annabelle 3 doesn’t have much frightening scenes. So those who watch only for high voltage horror scenes may get disappointed. It doesn’t have strong ,twisty ,heart melting story. It’s all about some horror events happening in their home and about how it happened. So don’t expect a big story. But nice to watch.

In short it is a good movie if you approach with less expectation. Don’t expect the level of conjuring 1 or 2. Among the Annabelle movie part 2 is the best. Then comes this. So it is better than Annabelle 1 not up to 2, but not bad. It is better than the last two installments in conjuring universe, the nun and the curse of weeping women. And those who loves horror mood rather than horrifying scenes can also choose this one.

So in our opinion it is worth to watch and we are giving a rating of 7.5 out of 10 for this movie.

And suddenly after dinner they're looking around and they can't find their daughters anywhere. it turns out that they're both missing and these two families along with Jake Gyllenhaal who plays a detective in this movie spend the rest of the film trying to figure out what's going on, where they are, who did it who's to blame and what can they do about it.

Prisoners is a very deep and dark film that is filled with good cinematography, immaculate editing top-notch performances incredible dialogue. The editing was so tense it's a film that takes its time with its shots. The cuts in the film are not frequent which is a beautiful thing to see.
The cinematography by Roger Deakins is beautiful. The movie starts very quietly and slowly. But sooner it becomes engaging.
This is such a tense film that just keep us on the edge of our seat throughout the entire movie.
It's a film that is consistently riveting . The performances in this movie are absolutely terrific. this is probably one of the best performance from mr. Hugh Jackman. He is absolutely magnificent in this movie.
One of the great themes about this movie is the villains and the good guys are kind of blurry. Everyone in the movie has stuff that's wrong with them. They're trying to work through things that make them feel pained about their past things. Hugh Jackman is really good in the movie as is Terrence Howard as the other father. Viola Davis Maria Bello and Melissa Leo were all very good in the movie as was Paul Dano as a very troubled young man. Jake Gyllenhaal as the police officer who's investigating this case has also done a good job.

The director absolutely knows when to go for a wide shot and when to pull in the shots. The movie has a dark and wet mood throughout. The director need to be really appreciated. For a thriller movie silence is as important as the thrilling background music. This movie has both in proportion.

Overall it is a must watch movie for all the thriller lovers. It will amuse the audience with the thrills and suspense.

Minority report

It is a 2002 released action thriller American movie directed by Steven Spielberg. He is one among the most successful American film makers. Most of his works are fictional. He is the director of jaws which was a critical and economical success. He is well known around the world as the director of Jurassic park, which is still a favorite of all.

Minority Report is inspired from a short story of the same name written by Philip k dick,an American science fiction writer.

The cast includes Tom Cruise, Colin Farrell, Samantha Morton, Max von Sydow, Neal McDonough, Steve Harris etc.

This movie takes place in the very possible and grounded future of 2054. Tom Cruise plays John

Anderton a law enforcement officer working for a place called pre-crime. 3 twins called the precogs have the ability to see murders before they occur. they predict these things before they happen sometimes way in advance if someone is able to premeditate a murder and sometimes they have a red ball in which a murder is going to occur very soon and it's Cruz and his team's job to stop these murders before they occur and in the entire time span of pre-crime. there hasn't been a single murder so it's very successful in the public eye. but the main thrust of this story happens when there's a precognition that

John Anderton himself will be a murderer. Anderton does not know this person they're saying he's going to murder and so he flees and we get a sort of fugitive story going on in which Colin Farrell as Danny Witwer is trying to track him down while John Anderton is trying to prove his innocence it's sort of like the fugitive meets Blade Runner all meshed into one and it's one of Spielberg's best film andTom Cruise movies also besides the precognition stuff. it is a future that you actually feel could happen and a lot of the technology that was utilized in this film are things that are already happening today for instance swipe technology the system the crews uses to swipe through the pre-cognitions are very very similar to the swipe technology we have now on iPads and iPhones and this is not something that existed in 2002. the eye scanning that takes place in this movie wherever you go these systems scan your eyes and remember the last thing you purchased it also makes it impossible to have any privacy or go anywhere in secret. Minority Report is a world that absolutely feels lived-in it feels like a place that actually exists and one of the things that Spielberg did with his cinematographer was specifically try to create a world that looked older and lived in and dirty despite its futuristic setting right down to the cinematographer actually quite literally bleaching the negative of the film to make it look weird and white and almost dirty and grimy and it really paid off the whites are way too high everything is glowing and shiny there's a lot of grainy handheld shots that totally sell this more dirty realistic looking future.

Going on the run to unravel this mystery and prove his innocence, he comes across many twists and turns that force him to confront his past and rethink everything he knows about the future. First of all we have the concept of being able to predict and stop murders before they happen using that to tackle complex themes of freewill versus predeterminism and playing God by reshaping the future. what a great idea that is! It's really not all that surprising since it comes from the mind of Philip k dick an author who specialized in cerebral sci-fi concepts like those in Blade Runner and Total Recall.

The screenplay is exceptionally well-written containing no shortage of twists and turns that make it an entertaining piece of neo-noir .this atmosphere is further strengthened by the lighting and color scheme the high contrast and bleak blue tin go perfectly with the future which is ideal yet disconcerting in addition when it comes to directors who can take us on fantastical adventures with a sense of spectacle and wonderment you really can't get much better than Steven Spielberg.

Minority Report is a must watch move for a thriller fan. Mostly science fiction lovers.

It has thrills suspense etc..

Coherence is a 2013 released science fiction thriller mystery movie. It is an American movie directed by James Ward Byrkit. He is an American writer and director. He worked as conceptual artist on the first three parts of the movie Pirates of Caribbean.He is mainly known for the Academy award winning film Rango released in 2011. The story of coherence also is written by him. Emily baldoni plays the main role in the movie. The movie is portrayed in Emily 's point of view. The other main cast are Maury Sterling, Nicholas Brendon, Lorene Scafaria, Elizabeth Gracen. The story is based on a global event occurs on a particular night and how that affects the life of eight friends.

We first open to a woman, Emily, driving to a reunion dinner with her friends while talking on the phone with her boyfriend. When Emily finally gets to the house, their connection cuts out and then her phone screen cracks in her hand for no reason. Inside, Emily reunites with Mike, Beth, and Lee and mentions that her phone broke and thinks it’s due to “Miller’s Comet”. Which is supposed to be passing over them tonight, which according to Emily produces a radiation that could break electronic devices like her phone. So a quick rundown of this film is that this is a science fiction movie about 8 people in a house, and a comet that's passing by and the effect that this comet has on these people Emily’s phone was broken by the comet's radiation and the comet is only now starting take effect because its passing by. But we're gonna see that it can do more than just break phones. As they’re having dinner, no one is able to get reception on their cell phones and it gets them talking about comet. Especially Emily who knows a lot about comets. Like how in Finland, after a comet passed, people began going a little crazy. In particular, a woman called the police telling them that ‘her husband’ wasn't 'her husband’ since she had killed him yesterday. But the police couldn’t arrest her since her husband was alive.From this story, we can sense about the mysterious incidents that can be caused by the comet. So how does the comet affect the lives of these people? Does it affect them in a good way or bad way? Mysterious events starts to happen and the plot becomes more interesting and thrilling. Also it becomes complex and confused too.

It is a short budget movie with a few characters. But it discuss a different concept which is rarely depicted in movies. It is basically a science fiction movie. Fiction has more importance. It is based on some scientific theories and it will make us excited while watching. Those who love to watch science fiction movies with different theme and concept should definitely watch this movie.It is little slow paced at the beginning, upto the portion we discussed above, later it becomes interesting and keep us at the edge of our seats. It is mysterious and thrilling too. There are twists, thrilling moments, suspenses all which will satisfies a thriller fan. It is a rare theme portrayed brilliantly by the director.

The haunting of hill house

The haunting of hill house is a Netflix original series directed by Mike Flanagan.
He is an American director mostly known for horror movies. Hush, Oculus etc. are some of his famous films.The main cast are Michiel Huisman, Elizabeth Reaser, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Kate Siegel, and Victoria Pedretti as the adult version of the siblings. Carla Gugino and Henry Thomas portray the role of parents Olivia and Hugh Crain. Timothy Hutton act as older version of Hugh. It is based on a 1959 book written by Shirley Jackson of the same name. It is premiered on October 12,2018 in netflix.
Only one season is released yet. The season has 10 episodes each having a running time of about one hour. Some episodes have more than 1 hour.
A second season is scheduled to release in 2020.
The story of first season ends in that season itself. We don't need to wait for the second season for the suspenses. Second season may not be a continuation of first.

The series is basically a horror mystery thriller.
It is slow placed in the first episode but the plot twists at the end of that episode, keep us watch the entire show.Even though it is known as a horror series, it follows a mysterious and suspenseful mood throught. It does not follow the regular conventional horror cliches like jump scares, but keeps the horror in its own way. Director had won in the attempt to make a different horror experience. The show is set in two timelines. Past and present. The alternate presentation of each timelines makes the show interesting.

The show begins with the narration about the hill house by steven, a book writer.Hugh, olivia and their five children lives there. Steven is the elder son. A night in hill house and the problems are shown .Later it shifts to the present where each character is introduced and familiarised. The main story revolves around the five siblings. It is made clear in the first episode that something happened in the hill house on a night and that changed their life completely.
Even after 26 years the memories of hill house haunts them and it starts to affect their present. They are forced to join again and solve the mystery.

Making is the most appreciable work in the story. It is an example of how a different horror story can be made. The hill house events are set in a dark mood which makes a mysterious atmosphere. Editing is done carefully and brilliantly. For first five episodes, each episode is based on each of the five siblings. The actors had done an excellent job. Especially carla gugino, who portrays olivia. The kids were also amazing. The story is predictable but the making keeps it a unique and different one. It is good enough to keep us stick to the entire ten episodes. Horror fans should never miss this one.

Mother! Movie Explained:A quick run

Have you watched the film mother! by Darren Aronofsky. Did you thought like what's going on the entire film? Or confused at the end?? Here is the explanation of what really happened in the film.

Mother is an odd film, to say, the least if you tend to only view conventional cinema chances are that you are absolutely going to hate mother. However if you tend to view films that follow a more unconventional narrative structure and conveys its narrative in different ways then chances are you might like mother. The film mother follows jennifer lawrence and javier bardem who live in a house in the middle of nowhere. A bunch of unexpected guests start to arrive one by one until the house is full of them. The majority of the film is Jennifer Lawrence trying to get the guests to leave the house to no avail. The house quickly descends into madness as a weird stuff begins to happen on the surface.this seems to be what mother is about. It seems like a film that has no purpose but to shock the viewer however this isn't the case. Understanding the film's narrative is to understand who the characters portray. Most importantly who Jennifer Lawrence's character represents. Her character his mother earth. The many inhabitants of the house represent the people of Earth. So the film is an interpretation of how mother nature must feel if she was a person. Notice how the people have ruined her by destroying her beauty and plaguing her with war and endless conflict. Some even try to repair her to no avail echoing the state of the planet today. So that's basically what the film is trying to get across but how about the many other people especially the first couple of guests. Well, to put it simply many of the film scenes are a loose retelling of the book of Genesis. let's do a rundown on the first couple of characters and the film's entire narrative and most of the film's religious references.

First we are introduced to Jennifer Lawrence's mother who is Mother Nature herself created by Javier Bardem who represents God. Then the first guest arrives Edie Harris who represents Adam, the first man. Shortly after we catch a glimpse of a scar across Harris's rib the following day Michelle Pfeiffer arrives as the movies version of Eve made from Adam's rib. She is drawn to God's crystal this stands in as the forbidden fruit Eve picks up the crystal and accidentally drops it on the ground committing the first sin. We then meet the couple's sons who represent Cain and Abel the sons are arguing over their fathers apparent betrayal. A fight ensues ending in one of the sons beating his brother to death. nine months later Lawrence is pregnant and Bardem finishes his new writing project, as the couple prepare for dinner hundreds of Barnum's fans arrive,desperate for his love echoing the fall of man part of the book of Genesis the house then turns into a war zone. Lawrence then gives birth to her child who represents Jesus. The baby is taken from her and passed through the crowd and is accidentally killed then. Lawrence is horrified to discover that not only has her son died but that the mob has eaten him. Devastated Lawrence burns down the house which is the film's version of the great flood which reverts earth to its pre creation state. the home is destroyed and the followers killed leaving nothing but Bardem and an almost dead Lawrence remaining. Bardem Scott extracts his mother earth swipes heart and places it on the mantle, this creates a whole new version of the existence. This is what happens in the beginning of the film but which another version of mother earth. The implication is that he has been through this process before in a never-ending quest to create the perfect world much like God.

So in summary the film mother tells the tale of man's cruelty to Mother Earth and what she must feel like being hopeless and not being able to do anything while God and man try to create a perfect version of her.

The movie will be more interesting if it watched again after reading the explanation. Several key points can be noticed, our own explanations can be made.

Mother! (2017)

Mother! is a an American film released in 2017, written and directed by Darren Aronofsky. Jennifer Lawrence plays the main character.

Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, and Michelle Pfeiffer are also starring. This movie cannot be considered as a complete thriller movie. But several moments and scenes makes it thrilling to watch. It can be considered as a well crafted mystery movie,which gives the audience a platform to interpret and conclude their own versions of the story. Director Darren Aronofsky's movies are basically mysterious, different and thought provoking in its genre. Mother! is also a thought provoking and intelligently made movie.

The story is about a young woman who lives with her husband in an isolated place. He is a writer, who is suffering from writers block and the women helps Him to come out of the difficulty. The arrival of some guests, A man and his wife, and the following events changes their life to another extent .The husband is so fond of the man and let him to stay with them by convincing the wife saying that the man is a fan of His works. The wife is modifying their home. But the interference of the couples makes her irritating. However the man and women breaks a crystal object which was kept safe by the husband. Before the couples leave the house, their sons arrive and a fight occurs. This ends up in a severe injury to one among them. The rest of the events turn the home like a haunted mansion.

It is an artistic film. The story is not what we have seen. As we saw, the things are unrelated, illogical and mysterious. But it generates a curiosity which makes us watch it throughout. As mentioned earlier, its the style of film making of Darren Aronofsky. The movie is little slow at the beginning up to a certain portion.Later it changes the mood completely. As it reaches the climax, it becomes more interesting and confusing as well. The climax portion gives an excitement. And end implicitly. More than a thriller movie it’s a one which generates curiosity and steals our attention. It is not every one's cup of tea. But those who love to watch different movies can definitely go for it.

The direction and cinematography are really appreciable. Each actor played their roles neatly. On performance Jennifer Lawrence nailed the show. Her astonishing performance gave life to the character and the entire film. The background music helps to increase the mysterious atmosphere during the climax portions. Expectation of minute by minute thriller may draw you back. The narration is entirely different. It is not a watch and leave type. Darren Aronofsky tried to convey something through his work. Apparently it may not be distinguishable for a normal audience, at which the film fails. An overall good entertainer which discusses a new theme in a non cliche manner, which makes this movie a must try piece. Different opinion may arouse from audience, but having a look at it for one time will be a good experience, at least in terms of acting direction or the theme. Anyone factor will strike you.
