So, our speech therapist gave us verbs for homework. I didn't get through them all but riding and driving were both on the list. I don't have enough time in the day to go through the 10 pages she assigned. It's about quality it quantity, right?

It is another Monday here at TCH. Last week the temperature was in the 80s while this morning it was 44. We will probably be changing mid
Day to accommodate the weather shifts. I'm certainly not complaining. I love the chilly weather!

Gracie is a bit off schedule. I guess she always has been. She did start off the size of a two month old. Now her teeth are a bit off as well.

She has been clingy the last two days. When we arrived at the house after school on Friday, she felt warm. It reached 102 last night. She hates medicine. HATES it. I mean she inhales it because she cries so much while I give it to her. Anywhoo, I think her temp is a combo of teething and a stuffy nose. No not the clear kind. The yucky stuff.

She has pretty much been on the floor crying or in my lap crying. David had her part of the day and I think she cried almost the entire time.

Her little gums were bleeding where her molar came in. I know it has to hurt. It seems a bit early and she's only getting one. Teeth come in two at a time. Normally. Gracie seems to be getting them one at a time and only on one side. My heart hurt putting her to bed tonight because I know how much she doesn't feel good.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better than today. I'll leave you with a photo of her at dinner. It took her 45 minutes to eat a cracker.

My Grandmother Grace

Now I understand why my grandmother never let me sleep on the couch when I was a kid. I was the wriggler in the family. I wiggled all over the bed and my grandmother was afraid i would fall off the couch. I had to sleep on the floor all the time.

Gordon wiggles the same. He now requests pillows around him if he falls asleep on our bed. This is him asleep with pillows so you see how well it works to have them around his body.

His head is off the side of the bed not the top. He started the night in the normal position. All winter long I have been asking Gordon if he would like to sleep in his footed pjs. Wouldn't you know it, that kid waited until it was 85 degrees outside before wearing them...silly kid.

We have over an hour to kill Monday mornings. It's a good thing for these toys but Gracie is only lasting 15 and then she's done. This morning the waiting room was fuller than normal for a Monday so I have to watch her closely!

So much for a relaxing day of Gracie going wherever she wants!

And by busier, I mean 4 families waiting in the room versus 3...lol

We have been busy bees here in the Lewis house. Yesterday David had a 4+ hour photo session. Saturday, we had an awards ceremony to photograph and david photographed a basketball game.

The award ceremony was worth the price of the baby sitter just for the food! We enjoyed Lobster bisque, red snapper, and a banana mouse dessert! It was a paid date night!

This week will be about editing and catching up. Gordon's first soccer game is Saturday and we have a visit from Allie on Friday!

Elmo's Makes Music!

When I saw back in November Elmo was coming to town, I wrote it in my calendar with permanent marker. What 3 year old doesn't LOVE Elmo? We moved several (and I do mean SEVERAL) things around in our budget to be able to bring Gordon to see his favorite monster. When I say that Gordon LOVED it, that's an understatement.

I learned something very valuable about Gordon though during the performance. LEAVE. GORDON. ALONE. He needs a sign that reads "Do Not Disturb" He was taking it all in. You would have thought he was watching TV with the way he just stared at the show. He didn't ask to leave, get up, stand up, look around, smile, or move. Not even an inch! He watched and watched in amazement during the ENTIRE 1 1/2 hours! David and I both tried to talk to him but he wanted to no part of that. He wanted to watch his show! As soon as the show was over, he said, "a-na-na (another) mom!" He also kept asking if Elmo could come home.

Before the show, there was a small area for the kids to see a replica (and I use that term loosely) of the Sesame Street set. We waited in line to all the areas and took the obligatory photos next to the characters. Gordon was a bit overwhelmed at it all.

I do think he enjoyed it though. If only he could verbalize it to us.

Here are some photos of the day. And, I'm not sure who keeps teaching this child to say cheese but this was not his normal smile. It's almost a I'm-scared-for-my-life smile.

Gracie really enjoys coming to TCH to visit the toys while Gordon has speech! Even though Monday's therapy is at the crack of dawn, I enjoy the peace and quiet of the waiting room.

Of a non sleeper... She has a cold, a new tooth and some new moves and words she likes to practice.

Gracie just learned to stand in her bed! She says "iss" for kiss. Yes!! But, all of this excitement means no sleep for her or momma!

Elmo Live!!!

G has been talking about seeing Elmo all week. When we got home from speech today he checked the door every 5 minutes waiting for dad to get home. Gracie and Gordon both enjoyed the show.

A little clarification on Gordon's injury...

Just so I don't have CPS called on me... Gordon touched the Chimenea on his own. David and Gordon were outside working on our new vegetable garden. It was chilly outside so David started a fire in the chimenea. Gordon willing went up to the chimenea and touched it.

This child doesn't normally adventure out and do things he isn't supposed to. We can normally take him into a china store and he'll behave. Not sure why he chose to touch it this time but he did. If you ask him now if he'll touch the chimenea again, he'll tell you no.

His fingers are all blistered. They will heal. No permanent damage was done. He got Buzz band-aids. This kid is a trooper. Lesson. Learned.
