OOTD- Monday

It's that day of the week again, the day that we all dread as it ends our fun weekend and begins a new hectic week. Since Monday is the first day of a new week, I prefer to look a little more fancy just cause I like to start out my week on a good note. So here is my OOTD for Monday.

I called this my edgy outfit. Simple but edgy at the same time.

A pair of flat is a must have in your closet. It goes with anything from dress to jean. This pair of leopard print flat just add pop of pattern to my plain outfit.

A brown bag is also a must have. I got this baby from Goodwill a while ago and have been using it for school ever since. The color is just classic and the lock on the outside remind me somewhat of a Fossil bag.

I cannot tell you how much I love my pair of black pants. I would rather wear this over jean any day. A pair of black pants just makes any outfit look more well put together.

And of course since I keep the outfit simple, a statement necklace will make a nice addition to my jean blouse as it emphasize the collar and makes the outfit just a little bit more special .

Peekaboo!

So judging from the title, you can probably figure out that this post is about me coming out of hiding. According to the last post on the blog which was in October, it has been quite a while since my last blog post which is pretty sad. But school has been keeping me occupied and summer has been pretty busy as well. I'm currently a senior this year and it is quite a new experience for me. It is kind of bittersweet as you know it's your last year in high school but at the same time, you are excited to get into colleges and learn new things. One thing for sure, senior year is hard. I'm battling with 4 AP classes and running a club. I don't know how other people do it but it is time consuming and I'm often exhausted by the end of the day. (I would like to give prop to people who can handle school, work, club, and sport at the same time. I'm just doing two and I'm dying. XD) However, I missed blogging so much that I have made a goal to start blogging again. I wouldn't be posting often but I will say maybe once a month? I would be sharing with you all my random thought about life, my fashion sense, diy projects, and my latest thrifted/goodwill finds. So if you are still interested then tune up! (lol I only have 5 followers so far, hopefully this will change soon.)

$3 Halloween Costume

So this Halloween I was inspired by Amanda Seinfried's costume in her movie the Red Riding Hood. She wore this gorgeous red hood and it was just so beautiful.

Isn't it gorgeous? :)

So I looked online for a pattern for a cape or a cloak and I found this video on youtube that show you how to create your own hooded cape or cloak and it's super easy. Here is the video:

I love the result and this was exactly was I was looking for, a cape with a super big hood so it will stay on my super big head. I also went to Thrifttown and found this cute dress. From the look of it, I would say it was tailor made because it fits so perfectly and it costs only $3. Who can pass a deal like that. So this is what the final costume looks like.

I only paid $3 for the dress and the cape was made from some fabric laying around the house.

What I have been doing this past months...

What I have been doing this past months? Well the answer is homeworks, homeworks and more homeworks. I have been so busy with school work that I haven't been able to get anything done.

My desk looks like this everyday. Covered with pile and pile of homeworks. -____-

Anyway I did managed to finish a scarf and a pair of leg warmers as present for my girls.

But I still haven't finish any of my knitting patterns that I was planning to do so I can't wait until Thanksgiving break. It's like still 3 weeks away but I can't wait until I can start knitting again!!!! Anyway I'll start posting more often once Thanksgiving break comes so see you guys then. :)

Knitted Rosette Beanie From Forever21 (Free Pattern)

I have been slacking off on my knitting and crocheting for awhile since school had started. I finally was able to squeeze in sometime to write this pattern because I'm currently in need of a beanie to cover up for my bad hair day. You know those day when you forgot to take a shower and your hair is all oily or when you wake up late and your hair is sticking out everywhere. Well, that's what hats are for and I'm planning to take advantage of them as much as I can. I rather save me some sleep. So here is my version of the hat which I came across on the website. Hope you guys like it and either subscribe or click on my add for more free patterns. :)

So this is what the one from Forever21 looks like. You can get one from their website for $4.80, which I think was pretty reasonable if you don't have the time.

But if you do you can make one like for only $3.00 and still have enough yarns to make another hat.

Pattern:

I used a size 10 circular needle but you can always use a different size. Just remember if it's a smaller needle, then you cast on more stitches and if it's bigger, you cast on less stitches. And for the yarn, I used worsted weight but I think I would have prefer sport or DK since I think it will drape more nicely.

So cast on 88 stitches.

R1: K1, P1 until the end. Repeat until the it measures to 2 inches.

R2: K until the hat measures 7 inches (or longer if you want it to be more loose or slouchy).

Decrease Round:

R1: K2, K2tog repeat till the end of round.

R2: K

R3: K1, K2tog repeat till the end of round.

R4: K

R5: K2tog repeat till the end of round.

Cut yarn leaving a long tail so you can thread the hat and then cut the extra yarn.

The Rose:

I found the instruction for the rose on this really cool blog. They also have a video on how to do it if you're a visual leaner.

And instead of sewing the rose directly to the hat, you can always just tie it so you can wear the hat either way, with flower or without flower. Have fun and keep getting crafty. ^_^

The Treasure Hunt at Goodwill (Ep.2)

So I went to Goodwill again. :) I should make it my regular shopping place. It's like going on a treasure hunt because you never know what you might find there. And this time I learned that when you're buying something from there, you better try them on a couple time and check around for missing zipper or holes. But anyway, this is what I got this time.

I got this baggy cardigan for $2.99 which was the best deal out of all the thing I bought. It looks so crazy that I just love it. I can see myself wearing this everyday when the weather turns cold here.

And this shirt is an example of why you should try thing out before you buy them since Goodwill has a no return policy. This shirt was found in the lady's section and the tag said size small so I didn't bother trying it on. And then when I got home, I found out the shirt is super duper tight on me. Which made me realize this must have been a shirt dress from the GIRL'S section and someone must have just left it by mistake on the adult side. -_____-

And doesn't this one just looks so adorable?

Yes, it's adorable. Until you see these tiny holes in the back. Another reason to check your clothes before buying them. I'll probably put some cool looking patches over them and pretend that they're not there. But what a perfect way to ruin a jacket.

DIY Bathroom Cabinet's Organizers

After being so tired of seeing my cabinet looking like this.

I decided it's time to organize. And since I was not able to get to Walmart or Target to get those cute little cabinet's organizers, I just made some out of some small boxes. Nice way to recycle some boxes too. I just LOVE RECYCLING. Everyone should recycle. It's so good for the earth. This is super simple and all I did was cut out the front of the box and then tape the sides together if needed.

You should have something like this at the end. You can wrap it up with scrapbooking papers or sand down the edges to make them all pretty. But since I'm so lazy, I'll just leave them as they are for now until I have time to work on them. :)

So clean! Now hopefully, I can keep it this clean for awhile. XD

The Treasure Hunt at Goodwill

I'm currently in love with Good Will. They have the coolest stuffs ever with the prices you can't find anywhere else. lol I sound like some advertisement but it's true. I went there today and even though I couldn't stay there as long as I want, I was super happy cause I found this gorgeous pair of red flat, a purse, and a knitted capelet.

Polka Dot is back!

So I went to Thrift store the other day and I found this pretty polka dot dress in size 14 (Huge on my tiny frame). And since I just learned how to make a romper, I decided to turn this dress into one. It's been a long time since I have done some sewing so it was a bit frustrating to start. And I learned how to use the serger for the first time in my life and I LOVE IT. Super fast and easy to hem thing and it made the finished product looks so neat.

The before picture, this costed me only $4.00.

Not very flattering lol. I couldn't find anyway to take a full body picture of me with the dress on and so the result is this weird picture haha. Wish I have some curves though cause this dress just fall flat on me. XD

And AFTER! Took me 2 days and I just need a belt and a red scarf to complete the look. :)

Korean Circle Scarf!

Circle scarf seem to becoming the new trend lately and I have seen so many Korean actors wearing them. It's a super easy to make scarf and it keeps you toasty warm. It can also become a hood scarf if you increase the width of the scarf and make it a bit wider. So here is my version of the Korean circle scarf. Hope you like it and please support me by checking out the ads and subscribe for more free patterns. :)

Pattern:
With an N size hook (10mm) chain 190 chain with a chunky yarn or two strands of worsted weight yarn. Then use a slip knot to connect the chain and make sure it's not twisted. Half double crochet in the round until your desired width. Mine was6.5 inches but if you would like a bigger hood, I recommend going for 7 or 8 inches.

Inspirations from Korean Drama- Ep 1 Secret Garden

I'm such a big fan of korean drama and asian drama in general to the point I'm watching several dramas at the same time because the episodes are not out fast enough for me. This is most my most recent watched drama, Secret Garden. I already finished this once but decided to go back since I ran out of new drama episodes. I have to tell you korean drama always have the cutest knit wear in them if you pay attention. So here are just a few of them. I'm thinking of writing patterns for them soon so hopefully I'll be able to post them before it get cold outside. (Sorry for the bad quality pictures. Better pictures will be coming up in the future posts.)

A Camera in a Camera

I was going to make a camera case with felt but since I'm still in my crochet mood, I decided to crochet it instead. This is really not a pattern since it depends on different cameras, but this'll give you an idea of how to make one yourself. :)

Chain 35 or until it fits around your camera.

Slip stitch the chain together and add a stitch marker to mark the beginning of the round

Keep sc (single crochet) until the length covers the camera

Sc back and forth as if you're crocheting a scarf to make the flap, make it as long as you like

Make some button holes (I made 2 )

Crochet a rectangle for the bottom

Use yarn needle and scrap yarn to sew the bottom and the top together

Add the buttons in the back

Crochet the center of the circle with brown color yarn and the outer with white, button is optional

Attach it and add more details

Take 3 strands of yarn held together and make a loop

Attach it to the case and chain until desired length and this will be the strap

And TAH-DAHHH!! Your very own camera case.
