Leisurequip Ltd have been working with Primus Build, London on a three floor apartment in Wilton Crescent central London. Leisurequip where asked to provide the supply and installation of a bespoke sauna and steam shower within the basement.

Steam Shower Installation by Leisurequip

Opposite the above luxury steam shower, Leisurequip installed a bespoke luxury sauna for the client to use in there relaxation area which includes wine cellar, tv and media lounge and gym. The bespoke sauna has h1 controller matching the steam showers. The benches are in matching aspen and concealed lighting with the aspen backrest adds the relaxing subdued lighting. The basement area is 2 floor underground and completely quite from busy London streets above.

Bespoke Sauna

The stone tiled floor runs through into the luxury sauna from the luxury bathroom which also has the usual facilities and even a curved stone sink. The design is contemporary based with hardwood bench for changing or relaxing to cool off whilst enjoying the sauna and steam shower bathing experience.

Luxury Steam Room Installation with Bisazza Tiled Wall & Aspen Sauna

Recently we've designed, built and installed an absolutely stunning luxury steam room and luxury sauna with the steam room having a tiled wall. The Cambridge client was looking to have as many luxury features installed as they possibly could and we were only too happy to oblige.

Luxury Sauna Installation

For the steam room we installed luxury Bisazza tiles that are rich white gold and stunning white pearl blend. We used these to finish floor, internally and on the external entry wall which helped really bring the stunning design all together.

We hand cut the aspen luxury sauna on-site which helped fully maximise the space we had available for the build. It also had designed into it aspen matching benches, a backrest with concealed lighting and the kings of luxury lighting, the Tylo 9 point fibre optic ceiling.

The beautifully constructed tiled steam room has a gorgeously designed curved wrap, contoured seat which has also been adorned with luxury Bisazza tiling. It has a raised coffer design ceiling that has starry sky fibre-optics built in plus the rear wall is also beautifully illuminated with stunning white LED down-lighters. Both the sauna and steam room are managed by 2 Tylo H1 controllers.

This incredibly beautiful project doesn't stop there; we also built into the ceiling a flat plate, dual head rain shower and hand shower that is wall hung. This lovely bit of kit is controlled by an Italian made mixer divert valve plus it has a shower pump that has LED down-lighting built into the shower-head.

The hand-made, etched glass, bespoke doors are matching for both rooms and provide the users with all the privacy they need. This beautiful, luxury leisure suite is a place of pure indulgence for both the client and his wife and also comes with an incredibly stunning glass staircase that leads down from the master bedroom.

Leisurequip have been working with Latham Architects and Farrans Construction on a bespoke sauna project in Suffolk. The property Chadacre Hall, the ancient seat of the Plampin family built in 1835 which has undergone a total refit and addition of indoor swimming pool with a rising floor mechanism so it can be used as a room when the pool is not in use. This feature overlooks the estate within a modern contemporary glass structure which blends beautifully with the historic building. The house featured below in "The Times" has had a substantial additional wing the the left of the picture which nearly doubles the size of the house and includes garaging..

Leisurequip was given a space to design and install a sauna to fit with this magnificent majestic country estate. The bespoke sauna in aspen blonde wood with matching aspen benches, Sense plus 8kw heater with H1 control panel. The bespoke sauna had to incorporate a protective glass hinged window which was manufactured by ion glass.

What is the difference between a sauna and a steam room

Traditional sauna

Scandinavian sauna bathing takes two traditional forms. The classic sauna is best enjoyed at temperatures of 75-90°C in a relative humi-dity of 5-15%. Now and then you sprinkle a ladle of water over the hot sauna stones and feel the unique, tingling sensation as wave after wave of heat penetrates deep into your skin. Your pores open, you perspire freely and dead skin cells simply disappear in the shower.

Rounding off by pouring water over the stones is part of the ritual. A slightly more extreme variation on this theme is the dry sauna in very high temperatures (95-110°C) and an almost totally dry atmosphere. This form of sauna bathing is popular among those who like to feel the searing sensation of heat on their skin, when perspiration is the only way to cool the body. For devotees of traditional sauna bathing, we recommend a classic Tylö heater.

Sauna and steam room bathing

Steam sauna

A gentler form of sauna in 45-65°C, which many people experience as the ideal bathing temperature. A continuous and automatic supply of steam ensures constant humidity of 40-65%. The result is a more temperate bathing climate that tempts both young and old to linger a little longer. Just like traditional saunas, steam saunas produce the same sensation of clean, fresh skin and give you the same opportunity to unwind and relax both body and soul.

For that touch of ultimate luxury, you can perfume the air with invigorating herbs or fragrant essences. If you want to enjoy steam saunas and traditional hot and dry saunas, choose Tylö Combi - an ingenious solution that combines all the options in one single heater.

Steam bathing

A steam bath is not to be confused with the steam sauna. To enjoy a modern steam bath you leave the realm of the wooden sauna cabin and relax instead in a specially designed room finished in glass, plastic or tiles. The humidity level is a constant 100%. However, the temperature doesn´t rise above 40-45°C, so you can enjoy the experience for as long as you like and lose yourself in clouds of soothing steam.

If you are thinking of installing a steam bath at home, a practical solution is to let the same facilities serve as a conventional shower as well. Just complement your choice of a Tylö VA or VB steam generator with a mixer tap and a sprinkler. Alternatively, Tylette Centre combine shower functions with an integral generator for steam bathing or the Tylo Impression steam shower i170, i130, i110 corner and a combi sauna and steam shower ix210.

Infra Cabins

This form of bathing is based on infrared radiation and has little in common with sauna bathing as such. The equipment Tylö uses emits IR-B and IR-C radiation. This penetrates deep into the body and is widely used by beauticians the world over to enhance the efficacy of a number of skin treatments. Infrared radiation is also used as a medical therapy to alleviate the effects of rheumatism, tense muscles and similar aches and pains. It is a well-known fact that heat in all its forms stimulates the body and enhances the sensation of mental and physical wellbeing. So it´s no exaggeration to say that Tylö infra cabins are in investment in good health, for body and soul alike. This type of sauna is NOT a hot sauna but a therapy sauna.

Multi-saunas

Installing Tylö infrared panels together with a Tylö sauna heater in one and the same bathroom is the optimum solution. In addition to their other positive effects, infrared heaters heat up the sauna quickly. This means you can start the bathing cycle almost imme-diately, enabling you to squeeze in a relaxing sauna when you would otherwise not have had time. Enjoying the benefits of infrared radiation on your body at the same time as the sauna heater heats up the air in the sauna room is a solution well worth considering - and one which satisfies all the different preferences of the family for the best possible bathing experience.

Leisurequip have designed, manufactured and installed a Luxury sauna and tiled steam room in Cambridge. Our clients brief was to incorporate as many luxury features as we could.

The luxury sauna and tiled steam room are controlled by two Tylo H1 controllers recessed flush with the external Bisazza tiled wall. The Bisazza tiles are white gold and white pearl blend which are on the external entry wall to the luxury sauna and tiled steam room, also on the floor and internal finish to the tiled steam room, this brings the design together with the same theme running throughout.

The aspen luxury sauna has been hand cut on site to maximise the space available, aspen matching benches, backrest (with concealed lighting) and a real luxury the Tylo 9 point fibre optic ceiling.

The tiled steam room has a curved wrap round contoured seat which is tiled in the Bisazza tiles. The ceiling is a raised coffer design with in built starry sky fibre optics, the rear wall is illuminated with LED white down lighters. Built into the ceiling is a dual head flat plate rain shower and wall hung hand shower, controlled by an Italian mixer divert valve and boasted by a water shower pump which also activates the LED down lights built into the shower head.

The door to both room are bespoke made in matching etched glass giving a high degree of privacy to the bathers.
