iPad speakers make static noise

2011-05-05T01:02:00.001-07:00

I mostly hear crackling static noise from the speakers that are built into the iPad when I put the device into sleep mode. You need to place your ear up to the speaker. It seems a sound effect like a switch flipping, but unfortunately the noise I am referring to is not that.

When I open up mail or safari and then the keyboard pop up, it also has a faint hiss from the speaker. How to make the iPad speaker completely silent?

It is annoying. This issue happens when an app or native process is accessing the speaker device. It also happens with some Bluetooth headsets connected to youriPad.

2011-05-05T01:00:00.001-07:00

I just bought a brand new iPad 2 3g about two week ago. Today I dropped it in the case on the corner of the sidewalk and the glass broke. The screen is fine and the touch part still works, but the glass is cracked.

According to reports, Apple has unofficially offered a one-time only courtesy replacement for broken glass. I think that Apple will replace a unit even for accidental damage.

Two new phones taking bows.

2011-05-05T00:45:00.000-07:00

Verizon Wireless clients thirsting for an iPhone got their want final week when Apple’s widespread machine arrived at Verizon stores. Aside from the chip inside that makes it suitable with Verizon’s CDMA network, the iPhone four is just about identical to the one AT&T has been promoting since last summer.

An in depth inspection will reveal a barely completely different look to the antenna. Based on Apple, the antenna was optimized for CDMA networks, however it may have additionally been revised to fight points that brought on AT&T’s iPhone to generally lose its signal.

What Verizon hopes will make its iPhone successful are an extra dependable community and a wider protection area.
For new prospects, the price of an iPhone is about the same on both networks: $199 for 16GB of memory, and about $ninety a month for unlimited calling and a beneficent data plan.
One feature that provides Verizon a little bit of an edge is its means to turn the telephone into a mobile hotspot. AT&T lets you tether one gadget to the Internet; Verizon’s model helps as much as 5 connections.

AT&T is broadening its lineup of Android phones. The newest is the HTC Encourage 4G. With a 4.3-inch display screen, the largest in AT&T’s portfolio, an 8-megapixel digital camera and Dolby + SRS Surround in-built, the Encourage can match Motorola’s Droid X as an incredible pocket cinema device.

iPhone 4

2011-05-05T00:44:00.000-07:00

Apple is not contractually sure to convey the iPhone completely to AT&T, and that’s why you can now go to the store and purchase a Verizon iPhone with no problem. Rumors now recommend the following iteration of Apple’s mobile phone will be available on all 4 of the major carriers.

It’s funny to assume that again then, Apple needed help. AT&T was doing the company a favor by providing to assist with promotions and advertising, and different favorable deals. Verizon form of missed out on its blockbuster event when it launches its version of the iPhone 4. Whereas it did set sales information for the Wi-Fi supplier, it wasn’t a runaway smash like it had hoped, and plenty of expected.

As a substitute, launch-day lines outside Apple and Verizon Stores had been slightly short, if at all. Certain there were Verizon customers who needed to get their hands on it, as well as those who refused to ever purchase an iPhone on AT&T. But for essentially the most part, the lots of people who absolutely needed to have an iPhone 4 ASAP already bought one on AT&T.
The launch of the iPhone 5 might show to be historic in its scope. If it launches on a number of carriers simultaneously, we will be in for a gross sales day of epic proportions.
Nothing really stable backs up the notion that Apple will carry the next iPhone to anyone other than Verizon or AT&T. However, last 12 months there had been hypothesis that Apple was in discussion with T-Mobile. And since Verizon and Dash run on the same type of cell community, it would not be very difficult to get a Sprint iPhone up and running.

Meet iPhone 4 – The UK’s sixth most popular phone.

2011-05-05T00:43:00.000-07:00

It is all about Android as of late
The iPhone four has dropped out of the top 5 hottest UK telephones according to a list compiled by uSwitch.

The cellphone was marred with sign and (in some way) gripping issues when it was first unleashed on the world in summer time final yr, whilst their much-hyped Face Talk hasn’t had the effect Jobs and co. calculated.

HTC the Taiwanese phone big whose tagline is “quietly brilliant”, has been simply getting on with the job; releasing extremely-successful smartphones with massive, excessive definition screens; social media out the ears and a lot lower price point than their Cupertino counterparts.
HTC telephones Want, Desire HD and Wildfire occupy the first three areas which is curious as the Need has been on launch since March 2010, as bigger and more heavily marketed contenders have been and gone.
The HTC phones all use an Android OS which is gathering momentum in the cellular recreation as the only different to the iOS. Android is the OS utilized in all telephones on the list save the Apple and BlackBerry models.

BlackBerry makers RIM will be equally delighted their Curve 8520 has usurped the popularity of iPhone 4 as their popularity as the telephone of enterprise has slipped.
Motorola’s DEFY seems one place behind iPhone which will stick in the throat of the corporate whose slick marketing campaign, lauding an ‘indestructible cellphone’, wasn’t enough to topple their target.
Cause for the escalation in HTC recognition is basically accountable to the price. An HTC mannequin usually comes free with Pay Monthly contracts at a lot lesser price than Apple wares; the place networks have little or no give in offering incentives on the handset itself; forced to throw in equipment and extras.
