It's been a while since I wrote anything here. I'm no good at goodbyes and honestly I never wanted to give up the blog. I knew I was coming back sooner or later. So now that my life is slowly going back to normal I'd like to pick up with Allure-Allure.

However, I still want to do some changes around here, starting with a new design. You have to hold on just a little bit.

Hace ya tiempo que no escribo nada por aquí. No soy muy buena con las despedidas y además nunca quise hacerlo. Sabía que tarde o temprano volvería. Así que ahora que mi vida vuelve poco a poco a la normalidad, me gustaría retomar Allure-Allure.

Sin embargo, antes que nada quiero hacer unos cambios por aquí, empezando por un rediseño de la web. Así que aún tenéis que esperar un poquito.

Sharing love in the blogosphere

I don't know if you follow Kate Miss' blog "For me, for you", but if you do, you'll already know the difficult situation she's going through. Her boyfriend has been diagnosed with testicular cancer and unfortunately he doesn't have health insurance. Living in the US that means having to face a big economic problem. To cover the costs, Kate organised a fundraiser selling her pictures and collages and it was a total success! Will and Kate already have enough money to pay for the bills. I can't help but feel so proud of being a part of such a generous community as the blogosphere. From here I'd like to congratulate them both and I wish Will a quick recovery.

No sé si seguiréis el blog de Kate Miss, "For me, For you" pero si así es ya sabréis la difícil situación que está atravesando. A su novio le han descubierto un cáncer testicular y desafortunadamente no tiene seguro. Eso en un país como Estados Unidos supone tener que enfrentarse a un problema económico muy grave. Así que para sufragar los costes de la operación y la quimioterapia, Kate ha buscado la forma de recaudar fondos vendiendo fotografías y collages.

Mientras escribía ésto me he enterado de una gran noticia y es que Will y Kate ya tienen el dinero suficiente para pagar sus facturas. No puedo dejar de sentirme orgullosa de formar parte de una red tan generosa como la blogosfera. Desde aquí quiero darles mis felicitaciones y desearles que Will se recupere muy pronto.

Last Tueday I went to the brand new Niemeyer Center to see the much-awaited Jessica Lange's photography exhibition. Unseen, is arranged in two parts: "Things I see" and "Mexico-On Scene", that except from the use of black and white have nothing to do with each other. Truth to be told there are high quality photos in the show but the whole turns out to be pretty basic. Perhaps it's because as my grandmother would put it "one shouldn't bite off more than you can chew" and as a photographer, Jessica Lange almost choked.

El pasado martes dirigí mis pasos al flamante centro Niemeyer para visualizar la tan esperada exposición de Jessica Lange. Unseen, que así es como se llama, consta de dos partes: "Things I see" y "Mexico-On Scene" que salvo el blanco y negro, guardan entre sí poca, por no decir ninguna relación. Cierto es que dentro de la muestra hay fotos de calidad, pero el conjunto resulta simple y ramplón. Tal vez sea porque como bien diría mi abuela: "el que mucho abarca, poco aprieta" y como fotógrafa la actriz de King Kong aprieta más bien poco.

I've been looking for the perfect briefcase for as long as I can remember but the wait is now over. As if they were able to read my mind, the people at Steve Mono have done exactly what I wished for. The bags are carefully made in Spain with an exquisite leather and are inspired by "vintage photos, books or movies" from the 50's and 60's.

Ya no recuerdo el tiempo durante el que he buscado el maletín perfecto pero por fin la espera ha terminado. Como si tuvieran la capacidad de leerme el pensamiento, en Steve Mono han hecho exactamente lo que deseaba. Sus bolsos son fabricados con mucho esmero en España a partir de una piel exquisita y están inspirados en "fotos vintage, libros y películas" de los 50's y 60's.

At this point, I haven't got over breton t-shirts yet and with the emergence of brands like Chance, I think I'll never will. Lyell for Tocca

I jumped for joy when I discovered these pictures belong to Emma's Fletcher latest collection for Tocca. The clothing couldn't be more true to the Lyell spirit many felt in love with: scalloped hems, peter pan collars, sheer silks and fantastic coats. All topped with a vintage feeling, very sensual, a sort of refined Lolita. Such a pity their clothes are only available in New York.

Di un salto de alegría cuando descubrí que éstas fotos pertenecen a la última colección que Emma Fletcher ha hecho para Tocca. Sobre todo porque la ropa sigue siendo muy fiel al estilo Lyell que nos enamoró a muchas: cuellos peter pan, dobladillos festoneados, sedas transparentes y abrigos deliciosos. Todo con un punto muy vintage, muy sensual, una especie de Lolita refinada. Una pena que su único distribuidor esté en Nueva York.
