Just when I thought it was all going to work!

You may remember the post that I wrote awhile back about the Roller Coaster ride. As many of you know, I am in the process of moving to Utah. This is an exciting move for us, not only because of the opportunities and doors that it will open for my husband and his job, but also because after ten years of marriage, we get to buy our first home. Im my Roller Coaster ride post I talked about the stress behind buying a house. In our experience, we would find the perfect house, place and offer and then our offer would be beat. This seemed to be the story every single time. I would get excited, and then it would all come crashing down and then we would have to start fresh. At that point, I didn't think we would ever find the perfect home. I received lots of kind words from my readers that really helped me get excited to keep looking and just like you all promised, the perfect house came along AND our offer was accepted. From watching all of those house buying shows on tv, I knew that this meant the hard part was over, and we would quickly be in our house and enjoying our life there. Oh, how I was wrong. I would say for us, the easy part was over and we are now in the hard part.

My husband has had a lot of sucess in his employment and he had the opportunity to start a buisness with huge potentials. We are so exciting for this opportunity, but could have never thought that moving to a new state with a new company would make it near impossible to get financing for a home! The roller coaster ride seems to have gotten more up and down the the loops we have to jump through to make it work are absolutely crazy! I think I need to find the perfect life coach in Riverside, CA, to help me get all my ducks in a row or I seriously may go crazy! Doors are not all closed for our first home, it is just turning in to a long stressful situation. My house is packed up and I am driving to our new state on Sunday, but we don't have a house to move into. Luckily we have wonderful family in the area that are being so kind and willing to help us in the meantime! I am so excited for the day when my house finally closes, and until then, I will not lose faith!

Hi Everyone! I am just wanting to give you a little update! Yep, I am moving. I have been packing up my house the last couple of weeks, and on Sunday we are driving to Utah. We are in the process of closing on a great little house there and we are so excited. Because of this move, I am 1. Busy and 2. Without a computer, so I will be catching up on everything once we get to Utah. I will try to get occasional posts and updates up but it wont be as often as before. When it comes to breakfast time, Cereal is always our breakfast of choice. It is fast, easy and yummy! When my kids wake up in the morning, they love to talk and play before getting ready for school so it is always nice to have an option that is quick and easy but that they love. Breakfast is a very important meal in their day so it is important that they are getting a wholesome breakfast. I love to give them milk and Orange Juice with their breakfast and I love finding a good breakfast with a good source of Whole Grain. General Mills has a variety of cereals that have MORE whole grain than any other ingredient! I love this because I don't have to feel bad about them eating some of their favorite cereals because I know they are getting a good source of whole grain.

Each new year, I focus on eating healthier. Whole grain is important and the Dietary Guidelines recommend choosing products with a whole grain listed as the first ingredient. Now every cereal with the white check has more whole grain than any other single ingredient but still has the same great taste! You will see "whole grain" as a part of the first ingredient on the ingredient list, indicating that whole grain is the first and most prevalent ingredient.

According to Dr. Travis Stork, emergency room physician and host of “The Doctors,” identifying whole grain products can be challenging. Shoppers can look for nutritional cues on the front of the box, but they need to read the ingredient list to know if they are getting enough whole grain. Ingredient lists detail ingredients in order of prevalence, and if the words “whole grain” are followed by a grain like wheat or oats, it means the food contains more whole grain than any other single ingredient. Here’s how to determine if your cereals have whole grain as a first ingredient:

With all the health messages facing grocery store shoppers, it can be confusing to translate what appears on food labels into nutritional needs, and hard to determine which foods have a meaningful amount of whole grain. Dr. Stork has some additional recommendations to help you include whole grain easily into your diet. They include:

Start Early! The Dietary Guidelines recommend people get at least 48 grams of whole grain in their daily diets. Get a jump-start on the day’s nutrition by incorporating whole grain into your morning routine. For instance, when choosing cereal make sure whole grain is listed as the first ingredient. One easy choice is cereal with the white check, which have more whole grain than any other single ingredient.
Make Simple Swaps. Choose whole grain versions of the foods you love. Great options include whole wheat pasta and whole wheat bread or even whole grain crackers. Also, try different types of whole grain. Use brown rice instead of white rice as a side dish at dinner or popcorn, which is a whole grain, for a snack.
Don’t Judge a Food by Its Cover. The front of food packages provide good nutritional cues, but don’t forget to read the ingredients and check the nutrition label and side labels for additional health information. Cereals with the white check even include the amount of whole grain per serving on packaging.

To help with choosing products with whole grain, General Mills developed “Fast Lane for Whole Grain,” an online educational game. Consumers can navigate virtual grocery store aisles and identify products that have whole grain as the first ingredient, with the option to enter a sweepstakes to win one of each of the 50 cereals with the white check.

Little Trendstar Hip Fashion for the mini style star!

I love love love the adorable style at Little Trendstar! Almost as much as I love their tagline; hip fashion for the mini style star. Isn't that just how it is! My baby girl is definitely my mini style star that I love to dress up and put in adorable clothes! My 7 year old daughter was so excited when she found out that we were having a little girl because they are so fun to dress up. The styles at little trendstar are truly so hip and cool and stylish!

I had the chance to review the Benatar baby onesie which I thought was such a cute onesie, inspired by the classic 80's singer. It has a hot pink bow set over a black and white stripe pattern. It is so hip and cute and would be perfect with a a hot pink pettiskirt or a pair of skinny jeans. I was very impressed with the quality of fabric on this onesie. It seems so often that the fabric for baby clothing isn't very high quality but the Little Trendstar fabric was high quality and an adorable product. The inks on the fabric were bright in color and held up perfectly while washing. All of the onesies at Little Trendstar are printed with safe, non-toxic and eco-friendly water-based inks which are phthalate free. I know how important are children are to us, so I love finding companies that use safe and eco-friendly product.

I think one of my favorite things about Little Trendstar is their use of colors. I have always found black and white to be such a classy color combination but when you throw in a red or a bright pink it really helps make it pop and look so much fun! My kids love music and singing. My daughter ever since she was little said she wants to be a rock-star. When she saw our Little Trendstar onesie, she agreed that it looks like a rock-star onesie! Don't these kids look like such rock-stars!

Little Trendstar has fashionable onesies for newborns as well as short sleeve tees and long sleeve tees for toddlers. One of my biggest struggles in shopping is finding clothes for boys that I think are stylish and hip and the tees and Little Trendstar are so stylish and fun for boys. You will definitely have to pull out the Karaoke machine for the kids because they will be ready to sing and dance!

Boy, how time flies!

This has been a very fun week for me but at the same time it has really made me think! My two oldest kids birthdays are two years and three days apart. My sons birthday was on Sunday and today is my daughters birthday. My son just turned 9 and my daughter turned 7. I know, I know, 9 and 7 isn't that old and I am enjoying it every step of the way, but looking back it seems like those 9 years went so fast! I mean seriously, if the next nine years go as fast as these last seemed, my son will be in college! :) I keep joking around with my kids saying that we were going to skip their birthdays this year that way they couldn't grow up at all, but some reason they didn't go for that. Probably because they want presents and cake!

When I look at my kids and realize how quickly they are growing up, it always makes me take a step back and look at them and make sure that I am teaching them everything that I want them to know. I know that kids learn by experience but there are important lessons and things that I learned from my mother and I want to be able to do the same for my kids. Some of the most important lessons I learned in my life, I learned from my mother! She was always an example of service and taught me to think of others before myself. This is a lesson that I want my kids to learn because I think friendship and kindness is so important. My mother taught me the importance of having a long term food storage and being prepared. I always thought this was silly, until the day came in my married life when money got hard and we really had to depend on that food storage so we could put food on the table. My mother taught me that importance of working hard. Work ethic is so important and I want to make sure that my kids develop and strong work ethic because it will make life so much enjoyable if you are willing to work and maybe even like working! :)

For now, I guess I should stop worrying about their future and enjoy the today. I am so proud of my kids. They are kind, helpful, loving and so much fun and I know that they are going to do just fine. Until then, I am going to enjoy presents, parties and chocolate cake!

I am a hobby photographer so I love coming across companies like Poppy Tree Frames because I feel like their product helps display my art in unique and trendy ways. At Poppy Tree Frames, you can find frames that are are stylish, fun and unique to really add to the look of your photograph. You can customize not only color, but style, pattern, size and shape! What are frame companies do you get options like that? At Poppy Tree Frames, they also sell Strata Frames which are a double layer frame. I don't think I have ever seen a double layer frame before and I absolutely love it. I like that they have unique shapes, but then you can customize your frame with two colors to really make your photograph pop. I had the opportunity to review the Orchid Strata Frame that is pictured below.

As you can see from this next picture, the Orchid Strata Frame is a high quality double layer distressed frame. I love the distressed look because it has such a trendy style that seems to be really popular right now. I thought that the two colors complimented each other perfectly but also helped to make my photo stand out.

I was very impressed by the quality of these frames and love how it looked with my picture in it. I am moving in two weeks to a Victorian home built in 1886. What I wish they would have told me before I got pregnant!

Ever since I was little I remember planning my wedding and talking about how excited I was to be a mom. Now that I am a mom of four beautiful kids, I look back to how I was when I was young and how naive I was about being pregnant and how many things I wish I would have known about before being pregnant! Here are some of the top things on my list but may not be in everyones pregnancy:

1. I was not prepared for how sick I got. I had horrible morning sickness for the whole nine months of each pregnancy and it was miserable! I had heard about morning sickness before getting pregnant but I had no clue that it would be so bad and could last so long.

2. I had no idea that my hair would get thinner and that there was any kind of hair loss in women during pregnancy, but there is. And even now after I had my baby, I have to deal with the short wispy hair growing back!

3. Who knew that sleeping on your back would be so annoying! I didn't realize how much I loved sleeping on my stomach until I couldn't sleep on my stomach anymore! It is so uncomfortable to be limited in your sleeping positions! I was so glad when I could roll over and sleep on my stomach again.

4. Did you know, that when you are 9 months pregnant, it is really hard to walk? Yeah, I should have thought of that one a head of time, but I was not prepared about how painful it actually was to move around!

5. Hormones! I didn't realize that I could go from happy to mad to sad and back so quickly and so often!

6. Everybody hiccups. Yep, babies do too! Man, I thought it was annoying when I have the hiccups, but its even more annoying when your baby has hiccups!

7. There is nothing more special and perfect and exciting about the first moment when you feel your baby kick. The miraculous moment when you can really feel and understand that you are personally growing such a beautiful and amazing thing inside of you. You will never fully understand this moment but it is a very special and cherished moment.

8. When I finally got to the hospital with each of my kids, it was scary. I was so nervous about making sure that everything went perfect that I was truly scared. I had to have a C-section for all 4 of my kids and each time that they separated me from my husband to prep me for surgery, I felt so alone and scared. I am so grateful that all 4 times everything turned out okay.

9. The moment when you hold your baby in your arms for the first time is the most amazing moment. I was not prepared to love that little baby immediately as much as I did. They are beautiful and perfect and you truly love them so much.

10. Every moment from conception to birth is a miracle and where so much of it can be incredibly hard, but when you hold your baby in your arms every second of it is so worth it!
