Trading Forex with Signals – A Social Network Way of Thinking

The Forex Industry has and continues to undergo fundamental changes in 2012. With significant market instability since the recession of 2008+, traders have been forced to become more aware of current affairs and events. Whilst at the same time more astute in understanding the benefits and features of the growing number of Forex Brokers.

2012 is set to be cemented as the year where Social & Apps become one in all verticals. In Forex this is especially pertinent since traditionally interaction and engagement between traders was a taboo subject. Today we see the openness and willingness of traders to share strategies and participate in open discussion on events that can lead to smart trading.

One area where recent technical developments have matured is Forex Signals for long time, signals were frowned upon as untrustworthy and created by opportunists aiming to make their profit from selling a product while their customers lose their money on the markets.

In 2012 we’re seeing a natural move from traditional signal providers being replaced by user generated and transparent social forex signals . A great example of this is the recent (re)launch of ForexGlobes, which pits itself as the first true “Social Forex Signal Platform” The first generation of their platform soft launched last year although after positive feedback was taken off-line while fundamental re-development took place. This month it re-emerged as a total social experience. Signals are only provided by the community, and the platform is open to all traders regardless of level or current choice of broker. The intention appears to be 100% transparence coupled with 100% independence from trading activity.

As a truly social platform the success of individuals is dependent upon the success of the group. Every trader is able to publish signals and a ‘reputation’ score is continuously recalculated allowing new members to easily see which trader should be followed and trades copied for the best chance of success.

Forex trading has become an honest and accepted investment strategy and tool for both institutional and private investors. However it has taken some time for the market to mature and companies to emerge willing and able to provide traders with real tools to help them make money. With social platforms entering the market the face of Forex has changed irrevocably, the power and demand for transparency is with the client.

For the first time there now exists a trading signals community. Engagement, exchange and discussion of Forex trading strategies can now be leveraged to allow you to realize the opportunities claimed by brokers.

If you own or are a fan of coupes, you know that they boast a certain sexy, devil-may-care spirit and telegraph to the world that you are more than likely unencumbered by the responsibilities of children and family. As if this wasn't enough, there are some models in this segment that go easy on your wallet during freeway travel by offering outstanding highway mileage.

The 10 picks that follow are the coupes with the best highway fuel economy for 2013. The list is a diverse one and includes luxury models like the BMW 6 Series, sporty choices like the Scion FR-S and coupe variants of popular four-doors like the Honda Civic and Hyundai Elantra. There's even a microcar on board: the Smart Fortwo.

Note that electric cars were excluded since their limited range makes them impractical choices for many shoppers. When ranking each model, we used ratings for the powertrain with the best fuel economy. Our rankings are based on the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) miles-per-gallon ratings for highway travel.

Dyno tested-2013 Ford Focus ST's long-term Road Test

Our long term 2013 Ford Focus ST is now gone, but just before it left I managed to squeak in a dyno test on MD Automotive Dynojet chassis dyno.

You can see the results and read the details here. Surprising bit was how inconsistent and more knock-prone were on dyno. This characteristic was in stark contrast to the eerie robust Fiesta ST I dyno'd immediately before. If I had to guess (and I do), I would say that the two cars powertrains were integrated and calibrated through completely different groups.

Many drivers find that most of their travels are spent on the highway. If this is the case with you, you'll want to make sure that you choose a vehicle that leads the pack in highway mileage.

The 13 picks that follow (our list is longer than the usual 10 due to ties) are the sedans with the best highway fuel economy for 2013. As you might expect, there are quite a few hybrids on our list. The Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid, the Ford Fusion Hybrid and the Honda Civic Hybrid hold top spots. The list also features two Volkswagen diesels — the Passat Diesel and the Jetta Diesel.

Just the Facts:Ford is recalling 2,618 2012'-14 Ford Focus Electric cars for a potential loss of power to the wheels while driving.The problem is caused by software "anomalies" associated with the Powertrain Control Module, the automaker said.Ford dealers will reprogram the Powertrain Control Module.

DEARBORN, Michigan — Ford is recalling 2,618 2012'-14 Ford Focus Electric cars for a potential loss of power to the wheels while driving, the automaker told Edmunds on Friday.

The problem is accompanied by a "Stop Safely Now" warning in the instrument cluster.

"The issue is caused by software anomalies associated with the Powertrain Control Module," wrote Kelli Felker, a Ford spokeswoman, in response to a query by Edmunds on Friday. "If this condition occurs, the vehicle's braking and steering systems will continue to operate normally so the driver can pull safely off the road."

Felker said one crash has been linked to the Focus Electric recall, but there have been no injuries.

No information about this latest Focus Electric recall has been posted on the Web site of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. NHTSA oversees vehicle recalls in the U.S.

The affected Focus Electrics were built at the Michigan Assembly Plant from September 15, 2011 through August 8, 2013.

Ford dealers will reprogram the Powertrain Control Module. A specific date for the recall was not provided by Ford. Owners can contact Ford at 1-866-436-7332.

Edmunds says: Ford says if customers want to determine if their vehicle is included, they can also go to Ford.com and click on "Safety Recalls" near the bottom of the page.

"Our 2013 Tesla Model S is making an ominous noise under acceleration and deceleration. It originates from the rear of the car and seems to be getting worse." That was our last post addressing this mystery.

Here is how it was fixed...

"We replaced the entire drive unit," began our service advisor. "Tesla doesn't want us diagnosing the problem here, so I can't answer your question of exactly what happened. It gets put into a box and shipped off. Sorry I don't have any more information."

If you like to say, "I don't care how you fix it. Just fix it." Then you'll be completely satisfied with this solution. We don't say that. So at this point we have messages out to contacts at Tesla directly to see if we can learn anything more. We'll keep you posted when (if?) we learn something.

While it was at the dealer we also asked to have the magic driver door looked over. The fix here was to replace the driver door handle mechanism.

We're not sure what to think about the fact that both of these repairs were completed with just one overnight stay. Maybe the dealer is really on the ball. Maybe the supply chain is short. Or maybe the parts are readily available because they've seen these before. The car is back on the road again, regardless.

Just the Facts:Honda continues tweaking its Civic model lineup, freshening exterior styling for the 2014 Civic Coupe and Coupe Si.The performance-oriented Civic Si models get another 5 horsepower and a revised suspension. The bold-looking but sleepy-performing CR-Z hybrid gets a heavy-duty tune-up from Honda's HPD performance-tuning unit in time for the 2013 SEMA Show.

LOS ANGELES — After healthy exterior and interior tweaks to the 2013 Civic sedan, Honda's refreshing the look of the 2014 Civic Coupe and also injecting a little extra power and torque for the 2014 versions of the Civic Si models.

And just in time for this week's annual SEMA aftermarket-performance show in Las Vegas, Honda unveils the HPD CR-Z Street Performance, a performance version of the CR-Z hybrid modified by Honda Performance Development.

The 2014 Civic Coupe gets renewed styling in the form of a bolder grille and a revised fender, hood and headlight design. There also are restyled taillight lenses, more assertive front and rear bumpers, new side mirrors and new wheel designs, including a wheel upsizing for some 2014 Civic Coupe trim levels.

Meanwhile, the performance-oriented Civic Si Coupe gets essentially the same exterior makeover, but amps up the impact with "Si-exclusive design cues" that include a unique lower front bumper garnish, larger spoiler on the rear deck and Si-specific front and rear air diffusers. Both the Si Coupe and Si Sedan get larger 18-inch wheels with new wheel designs.

That's not all for the 2014 Civic Si models. Thanks to revised exhaust tuning, there's a 4-horsepower boost to 205 hp in total and torque also improves by 4 pound-feet to 174 lb-ft. To accompany the power boost, the 2014 Civic Si Coupe and Sedan have tightened suspension tuning via higher spring rates, new dampers and a stiffer rear stabilizer bar.

Honda this week also revealed the HPD CR-Z Street Performance, a highly modified version of the CR-Z hybrid meant to display the scope of performance accessories available from Honda Performance Development, the company's aftermarket-tuning division. At the heart of the HPD CR-Z's transformation is an HPD-designed supercharger for the car's 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that boosts total power to 190 hp. Other HPD accessories include a sport suspension kit, front brake kit, sport exhaust, special 18-inch alloy wheels and a variety of cosmetic tweaks.

Edmunds says: After an early stumble with the current-generation Civic line, Honda seems determined to return the Civic to the top of the compact-car heap.

Fuel Economy Update for October - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 LT Crew Long-Term Road Test

In the month of October, our long-term 2014 Chevrolet Silverado spun an additional 2,137 miles onto its odometer and consumed 124.5 gallons of 87-octane fuel. That equates to 17.2 miles per gallon for the month, which is just a hair less than its lifetime average of 17.3 mpg.

These results so far are less than the truck's EPA combined rating of 19 mpg.

Just the Facts:For the 2013 SEMA show, Chevrolet builds a real-life version of the 2014 Corvette that appears in the Gran Turismo 6 video game.Modifications for the Corvette Stingray Gran Turismo are limited to exterior and interior appearance components.Changes include custom paint and grille and a ground-effects kit with carbon-fiber elements.

LAS VEGAS — Video games come alive at the 2013 SEMA show in the form of Chevrolet's Corvette Stingray Gran Turismo concept, an appearance-modded version of the all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray that celebrates the 15th anniversary of the iconic Gran Turismo racing video game.

The most notable changes for the Stingray Gran Turismo concept include ground-effects bodywork enhancement with carbon-fiber elements, a carbon-fiber rear wing and for some reason, yellow-tinted headlights. The car also wears customized versions of the 2014 Stingray's front fender and rear quarter-panel vents and a "racing style" front tow hook.

Inside, the Corvette Stingray Gran Turismo concept has unique trim for its competition sport seats, racing harnesses and a custom flat-bottom steering wheel.

On 5 november, 2013

We drove our long-term 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV 1,805 miles since last fill-up at the end of September. Its lifetime average has increased to 20 mpg or 0.2 mpg better than we achieved in October.

EPA estimated combined fuel economy of Santa Fe 20 mpg.

Our best and worst thoughts 25.0 mpg and 15.1 mpg unchanged in October, as did our best selection of 424 km.

Best refill MPG: 25.0
Average lifetime MPG: 20.0

2014 Kia Forte has nice, classic style analog gauges. Classic I think crisp fonts, no clutter, no corny digital recessed Faith graphics. That said, I still like an electronic readout of vehicle speed on long trips, mostly to prevent becoming a target of overzealous enforcement. If Forte has a Show on the LCD display between the speedometer and tach, I could not find it.

But I found a cheat. Screen GPS Info in the navigation system displays your speed as measured by eye in the sky. Although it would be impractical to keep the screen up all the time, especially if you actually needed to nav guidance, it is a useful little feature.

I am most curious to learn if the system stores this information and if it is available. I could see that comes in handy for the occasional obscure speeding offences.

This comes as no surprise, but the 2014 Acura MDX earned the top score overall in NHTSA's New Car Assessment Program. Acura's RDX model did as well.

Both Acuras received 5 star scores for each of the frontal and side impact crash tests and scored 4 stars for rollover resistance.

TOKYO — The Mitsubishi Concept GC-PHEV, Concept XR-PHEV and Concept AR will debut at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Show.

The somewhat ungainly Concept GC-PHEV is the Japanese automaker's vision of a full-size SUV with a full-time four-wheel-drive system. It features a plug-in hybrid setup with a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Concept XR-PHEV previews a future compact SUV with a downsized 1.1-liter turbocharged engine. This plug-in hybrid gets a high-efficiency motor with a high-capacity battery.

The Concept AR is a next-generation compact MPV that uses a mild hybrid system that includes a 1.1-liter direct-injection turbocharged engine.

All three feature the company's latest eAssist active safety technologies and future infotainment systems.

Mitsubishi said the three vehicles point to a new design direction for the brand. It noted that the GC-PHEV and XR-PHEV are tailored to "different market and segment requirements," but did not disclose future launch plans.

Edmunds says: Mitsubishi sticks with utility vehicles, but clearly is mulling downsized engines.

LAS VEGAS — Jeff Gordon may be out of title contention with just two races remaining in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, but he may have a winner at the 2013 SEMA Show with the Jeff Gordon Chevrolet SS performance sedan concept.

Chevrolet said it created the concept "with input from the No. 24 driver himself." The automaker said the car was created to reflect Gordon's style and the performance credentials of the SS.

Details include a satin exterior finish with No. 24 graphics and custom 20-inch wheels. The car also gets a carbon-fiber rear spoiler and a custom front grille.

The Gordon SS performance sedan concept casts a more aggressive stance with a lowered suspension. The car also features high-performance brakes and a Borla performance exhaust system. The interior is customized with perforated suede seat inserts and embroidered headrests, a racing-style flat-bottom steering wheel and a Chevrolet Accessories pedal kit.

The concept retains the production car's LS3 6.2L V8 rated at 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. It is backed by a six-speed automatic transmission with TAPShift manual-shifting capability.

GOODWOOD, England — The 2013 Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Chicane, a one-off that makes liberal use of carbon fiber, may upset some purists.

The luxury car's traditional wood-grain interior gets deleted in favor of a more contemporary treatment with carbon fiber, red leather and seats with checkered flags. There's even a metal plaque featuring the layout of the Goodwood circuit in the glovebox. Rolls-Royce describes that touch as "discreet."

The car gets a Gunmetal exterior paint treatment with matching wheels. The colored wheels are the first time such a feature has been used on a modern Rolls-Royce.

"Can you come up with a more irreverent spec for a Phantom Coupe?" howled the BBC's Top Gear.

It called the car a "white-hot slice of sacrilege for the old Rolls guard."

The car is the brainchild of a Rolls-Royce brand manager in Dubai.

"I wanted to create a motor car that captures the unique atmosphere and history of the Goodwood Motor Circuit," said Mohammed El-Arishy, the brand manager, in a statement. "The home of Rolls-Royce's connection to such an important center of British motoring heritage is something that fascinates my customers."

Edmunds says: Definitely a polarizing take on a venerable car.
