No one can deny that it's pretty devastating for Apple fans to find that the long waited device is not the biggest thing to happen to iPhone since iPhone.

So how do you think it will stand up in the wild??

The Infamous Samsung Galaxy S III.

Talking about size, size does matters.

The S III is larger than the iPhone 5's 4.0'' Retina display and slightly heavier, with its heavenly 4.8'' Super AMOLED display though alittle lower on ppi than the iPhone 5, but no big deal.

Despite the size, Samsung’s designmakes it perfect for the first time in their history, makes you feelcomfortable and familiar with the very first grip.

When it comes to speed, with theblazing fast Snapdragon 1.5 GHz dual-core processor (I ruled out the 1.4 GHZ Quad-core version to be fair) along with the 2GB RAMlurking in the S III, I think it will be quite a challenge for the iPhone 5’snew 1.2 GHz A6 Chip that should be a top notch.

The S III can be a cost efficientdevice, if you buy the lowest storage device & go crazy with a popped inmicroSD to expand the memory to 32 GB or 64 GB, which is really becoming crucialthese days.

Battery drain is a really silly problemthat most smart phones suffer from these days, The S III excels here with a NObuilt-in battery like the iPhone’s, Just a removable battery that you canreplace or keep one in your pocket as a back up, to overcome this problem,especially the kraken called LTE.

In Camera Clash, they are identical,8MP, Video up to 1080P, but I think the S III is better somehow ! Just a gut feeling ! (The Galaxy Note & S 3 did a great job against current iPhones).

The front facing camera is 0.60 MPhigher than the iPhone’s 1.3 MP, though Apple managed to squeeze an 8 MP in thenew iPod touch front, yet they dropped the iPhone 5 from their list !!!!

As for the operating system, it’s nobrainer that Apple will play safe in her locked ecosystem but improved (iOS 6),while Samsung will depend on the only ace up her sleeve right now (AndroidICS).

For Price, money talks and says thatyou can buy the S III from a carrier starting from USD 119.99 ! aroundUSD 80 less than the entry level iPhone, which is a real deal.

As Apple already started sending invites for the12th of SEP media event, the d-day for unveiling the iPhone 5 & availability for pre-orders, it's safe to assume that it will start shipping it within a week or so ( By 21 SEP) from announcement date as what Apple did several times with it's products.

The folks at MacRumors got the word that, FedEx (Number 1 shipping partner for Apple in US ) are planning a "surge volume" event during the same period (21-24 SEP) the expected launch date for the iPhone 5 in US & some European Countries.

So it's obvious that FedEx needs everyone in hand to prepare for the event that will definitely be viscous when the iPhone 5 launches.

Even some carriers in the US declared an All-staff vacation black-out in period from ( 21-30 SEP).

So all we can do now is wait & see.

I really went like WOW when i stumbled upon this in my daily news check frenzy.
So what is LEAP???
The LEAP as described on their website is a small iPod like USB peripheral that creates a 3D interaction space of 8 Cubic feet to precisely interact with and control software on your laptop or desktop computer.

So this means we can interact with our computers like what we see in SciFi movies.

MobileSubstrate & The Infamous SpringBoard Crashes

Many of us enjoy the tremendous realm of jail-broken iPhones, but sometimes a stray tweak or app can wreak havoc on your iPhone or iPad sending it into the above infamous screen.
So what should you do without resorting to the restore which might leave you with no jailbreak for a while ;) ??

Alot of jailbreakers tend to think that it's the MobileSubstrate is what caused this error while as it appears above it's the one that actually protects from it's dilema.
MobileSubstrate is simply the backbone of the jailbreak process, it's the framework that developers use to hook in their tweaks or extensions you install from Cydia.
Usually people tend to restart and get out of safe mode without trying to fix it or even troubleshoot it, leading to further crashes of SpringBoard.
How to troubleshoot it??
The Creator of Cydia Saurik advised in a recent update that he added a really nice option to help with trouble shooting in below photo.

Also "To support devices that don't have a volume up button (First generation iPod Touch), you can
alternatively hold down the "Clicker" (Not volume up) button on your headset or earphones."

You will be able to use this disable feature provided that you are probably with the latest version of MobileSubstrate or higher than 0.9.3997.

So simply reboot your iPhone or iPad ( or whatever iDevice) either by Holding down the Home & Power button simultaneously or from SBSettings by choosing Power Options, then Reboot.

Once the Apple Logo appears, press down the Volume Up button, and you will be in Safe Mode where all your extensions and tweaks are off.
So know you can browse through Cydia safely with no hassle and remove the last installed package that caused the issue unless you don't know it, so you gotta have to resort to trial and error by removing suspected installations, rebooting until it's fixed.
Pretty daunting but worth a try.

Most of us already read several reviews, even some already got their shiny new Apple toy and been using it for awhile. so many reviews that discussed the might of the screen and the unmatched experience, All good if you have an iPad 1or no iPad at all, but if you have an iPad 2, Is it worth upgrading? Is there any dark sides ??

No doubt the the new almost alive crisper Retina Display of the new iPad takes your breath away with its incredibly vibrant colors, sharper everything & the whole rich experience though the definition of Retina Display is debated.
As the new iPad sports the same 9.7 inch screen but with a resolution of 2048x1536 px, 4:3 aspect ratio (Higher than an HDTV by One Million Pixel ) and 264 ppi ( depends on the screen resolution, size & the viewing distance ).

So let's skip the technical details and focus on what we really got on hand and what we can see.... A Super sharp and detailed screen with 3.1 million pixels ( four times the number of pixels on iPad 2).
A real joy to the eye it is.

The 5-Megapixel still images iSight Camera on new iPad is quite a boost comparing it to the iPad 2's infamous 0.7 MP camera (not documented by Apple but only using Photo Shack Pro to get actual photo specs.) with options like Face detection, AutoFocus, backside illumination sensor and tap to set exposure functions, it really sweeps the iPad 2's camera. But.....Are you a compulsive photographer???

When it comes to the video recording, it offers it in a 1080p Full HD quality, which is not far from the late 720p on iPad 2, but adding the automatic video stabilization, it gets more edge over the iPad 2 capabilities.
As always, Apple doesn't rely much on Megapixel though it matters, but it relies on other things that determine photo quality like camera optics, signal processors & software and they did a great job.

What else??
An Ultra fast 4G LTE network connection, which is a huge boost to use supreme speeds on that device, though not the first company to tackle it, but the ability to access the majority of the fast 3G networks is awesome, especially that it support speeds up to 42 Mbps/sec on DC-HSDPA or 21.1 Mbps/sec on HSPA+
Blazing speeds is heaven on earth.
Apple did a great job increasing the frequency spectrum accessed by this iPad too, but you might need to consider two more things, who supports that kind of connections and in which countries? (if you are a traveler) as the 4G LTE carriers is not that widely spread as you might think, so be wise.

Now add to that the new 1GHz Dual Core CPU 512 MB A5X Chip, with it's new quad core GPU which drives 4 times the pixels of iPad 2 but still manages to run it as smooth as on the iPad 2 like a breeze.
All that without affecting the 10 hours battery life like the iPad 2!

The last but not least " The Dictation ":
Though a lot expected Siri to shine on that device, It didn't, instead
you got the dictation option, by just dictating your new iPad what you want whether an e-mail or a note, a text or even search the web, your iPad will listen and transform your spoken words into written text.
It also supports third-party apps like Facebook & Twitter so you can tweet or update your status using it.

So in brief that's all about the new iPad .

Now let's move to the claimed darker sides
I - The Battery Charging :

When the new iPad arrived, battery life was a little criticized about it's almost similar to the older iPad 2,people ignored the huge difference in display quality and graphics processing, until it takes a more dramatic twist when DisplayMate analyst Ray Soneira noted that his testing showed the iPad not fully charged when it displayed 100 percent!!
Apple responded that the device operates in the same manner older iOS devices work.
And how is that? Apple VP Michael Tchao told AllThingsD:

"Apple does, in fact display the iPad (and iPhone and iPod Touch) as 100 percent charged just before a device reaches a completely charged state.At that point, it will continue charging to 100 percent, then discharge a bit and charge back up to 100 percent, repeating the process until the device is unplugged.
Doing so allows devices to maintain an optimum charge."

"That circuitry is designed so you can keep your device plugged in as long as you would like, It's a great feature that's always been in iOS"

No matter where in that cycle battery is, Tchao said, owners of new iPad can expect the 10 hours of battery life that Apple has promised.
The decision not to keep changing the battery status was designed so as not to distract or confuse users.
Reasonable talk that I totally agree with, as all I care is whether it will last 10 hours or not, regardless of what's showing, I will still get what I want !

II - The WiFi Model Issues:

It first surfaced on Apple forums that some users are experiencing connectivity issues with the new iPad - WiFi model.
Symptoms include, but not limited to: Intermittent connectivity, slow WiFi speeds, WiFi networks not seen.
Apple is currently investigating the issue, and released an AppleCare document according to 9to5mac.

The document instructs retail stores & centers to capture the units exhibiting this issue, which is not a confirmation yet as Apple always does early field failure analysis on new products.
So we have to wait and see what turns up as no solid evidence on hardware failure.

III - The Warmth-gate :

According to thermal images from Dutch site Tweakers.net (via Google Translate ) first discovered by
Engadget, Apple's third-gen iPad is heating up 10 degrees hotter than the iPad 2.
Using an infrared camera, Tweakers measured the temperature of each tablet side by side after 5 mins of running GLBenchmark, The pictures shows that the new iPad hit 33.6 degrees centigrade while iPad 2 reached a cooler 28.3 degrees centigrade.
Apocalypse then!! The blogosphere was swirling like a whirlpool about that issue as if almost all of our gadgets never get hot!! it's a 33.6 degrees temperature and that won't burn us to death or fry our hands !
Especially when Apple responded to AllThingsD that it's within the normal thermal specifications.
But may be it's just because it got hotter than the iPad 2.

So simply, back to my the main issue, To Buy or not to Buy ??
In my humble opinion:
If you don't have any iPads yet or got the first iPad and wanna pump it up a bit and spend some extra cheese, go for the new iPad with no hesitation but avoid the WiFi model for now, if running tight, get an iPad 2 and I guarantee it will deliver.

If you are an iPad 2 owner already, it's up to your budget whether to go nuke or just stay put, considering also that you can use all the features as discussed above.

Mobile Terminal or Mobile Terminal.app is a terminal emulator for iPhone that power users use it to interact with the iPhone through a command line interface (like cmd in Windows or Terminal in OSX) and of course you have to be jailbroken first as it's available through Cydia only.
It's not an SSH client nor Telnet for this matter, it can however be used to execute a console ssh-client application.
In order to use it, you have to be logged in as Super User or simply to have root access to the device (Administrator).
Here we will discuss some of the commands that are frequently used.

Note that most & best currently working version on Cydia is 520-1.

To log in as root (administrator):
Open Terminal and type:
su root
alpine (password line), it's the default password, characters will not show while you type so don't panic.
YOU MUST CHANGE IT LATER FOR SECURITY, below you will see how.

Now some basic commands:
- Ignore the (*) signs when typing the command, it's for marking only.
Type the following:-

*help*
To present a list of terminal commands that you can use.

*dir*
To list directory files.

*cd* or *cd ~*
To go to the home directory.

*cd /directory name*
To go to specified directory.

*respring*
To respring device ( springboard ).

*reboot*
To reboot device.

*apt-get update*
To update cydia pacakges (as when you use refresh in cydia).

*apt-get upgrade cydia*
To install any upgrades needed for your packages.

*apt-get install cydia*
To install the latest update for cydia (if latest version not installed).

*apt-get autoclean*
To clean up files if needed.

*apt-get autoremove*
To check unused or borken files & uninstalls them after your confirmation on the list that will be provided.

*apt-get -fix-missing*
To check for missing files & fix it.

*dpkg -list>packages.txt*
To create a list of installed cydia pacakges.

*dpkg -i packageID*
To install .deb files, ( PacakgeID is the name of the .deb file).

*dpkg -r pacakgeID*
To uninstall the .deb file or the cydia pacakge installed.

*apt-get install packageID*
To install cydia packages.

*apt-get remove packageID*
To uninstall cydia packages.

*dpkg -P*
To purge configuration files for uninstalled packages.(if a package is still causing issues even after uninstalled ).

To Change The Root Password:-
Open Terminal and type:
*su*
*alpine*
*cd*
*passwd*
Enter your new root password and press return key.
Then re-type your new root password again and press return key.
Then repsring and it's done.

Make sure you memorize it or keep it on a safe place as if forgotten or got in the wrong hands, it will be a silly :)

Since the release of the iPhone 4S, many of older devices owners' were devastated for not being able to get
Siri the talented personal assistant on their devices.
The guys in the jailbreak community made gigantic efforts to port it to older devices, but most of the methods used successfully were questionable as it was illegal since they have to use apple servers or apple's copyrighted material and of course must run on jailbroken devices.
Until an iPhone guru named Chpwn along with his fellow gurus Plantbeing & Ryan Petrich managed to port it with a different method, legal this time which doesn't infringe any copyrights or so, through their masterpiece Spire but with some obstacles with proxies detailed here on his blog.

Just until March 10 2012 when a project named i4Siri dedicated to provide free Siri workaround for unsupported older devices, in other words, solve the problems that Chpwn faced with Spire & Siri proxies.
i4Siri simply works with Spire providing their own free proxy eliminating most of the issues faced before for setting up a proxy, certificates, etc....
It currently supports iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G & iPhone 3GS along with iPad 1& iPad 2 (with some extra effort).
It can run on any of the above jailbroken devices with Spire installed, on firmwares 5.0, 5.01 or 5.1!

Their current free version supports:

Time,Timer,Notes, Smart Siri, www search, Dictation, Phone calls, Jokes, Alarms, Weather, Where am I?, Reminder (not fully working), Wolfram Alpha and Location searches.
So will have to wait and see their Premium ( paid ) version, which is reasonable as the waiting list for such a service is unimaginable so traffic on their servers will be catastrophic, so must be limited somehow.
A great job so far from some really dedicated people.
