Jaya sits behind the counter at the railway station and watch his life going by, but when he finds out what star his mother used to be he pushes her to try again and Jaya decides to seize the day she decides to once again take a Panga.

Panga works on the strength of its performances and its writing Ashwini co-writer Nikhil Mehrotra and Nitesh Tiwari, who's also been credited with additional screenplay create a lived-in world with characters who have depth and personality.

Jaya isn't obviously heroic she's torn between her family and her passion and riddled with doubts and insecurities her frustration and vulnerability make her journey more relatable and more triumphant.

Ashwini gives the other actors equal affection and attention.

Mukesh Chhabra as casting is bang-on.

Punjabi singer actor Jessie Gill is instantly likable as a supportive husband who fights his own limitation.

He's an Indian man with zero training on how to be the primary caretaker so all the things that Jaya would do has routine become big drama including an edible breakfast.

Prashant's struggle is a subtle salute to homemakers whose hard work is rarely celebrated.

At one point Jaya tells Prashant that if she had to make a list of all the things she does to keep their home functional it would fill a book.

Prashant loves his wife but he also sits at the dining table waiting to be served his meals.

Jaya also has a job but the home is her responsibility no questions asked.

This is the norm that Prashant decides to break Jessie plays him with a bumbling sweetness so you see his shortcomings but you also root for him.

Neena Gupta is reliably lovely as Jaya Mom, again the writing is so solid that her character makes a big impression in few scenes in one she's telling joy to also give her credit in press interviews there's such love and pride in her voice and once again Ashwini gently reminds us of the tireless work that mothers do.

It's a full-time job for a lifetime but the scene-stealers of punga are Richa Chadda as Jaya's friend Menu and Yagya Bhasin as her son Adi.

Menu is this tough no-nonsense Kabaddi coach who tells it like it is.

Adi has the wisdom of a grown man but his precociousness never tips into annoying which is a tough balance these two get some of the film's best lines.

They also deliver some of the film's most potent messaging but actually tempers this with humour and lightness thankfully Panga never gets shrimp.

It does however get flat in the second half I think after so many sports films including the dishes of masterful dongle I'm a little fatigued with training montages and matches.

We know that the underdog will eventually win that is the cardinal rule of this Pottsville so directors try different roses to notch up the tension.

Here Ashvini succeeds only partially some will argue that Panga is too sanitized and optimistic that the actual struggle of a mother picking up a career again is much harder of course it is but for now I'll take the warmth and hope that this film offers and I hope you will do.

Apollo 11 launches

1. Equity Linked Savings Schemes (ELSS)

This is the best tax savings option available these days. The funds under these categories gives 12-13 % of returns in long term. Some of the funds also gives upto 15% returns. In the long term 2-3 % makes huge difference.

2. Tuition Fee of Children

As a teaching fee for education of one or two children, the payment amount is exempt from income tax and you can take advantage of it under section 80C. If the children are twins then the third child can also get the benefit. Keep in mind that only the fees paid in India come under its purview.

3. Infrastructure Bond

Infrastructure bonds are popular with the infra bonds. It is issued by infrastructure companies, it does not release the government. In this section 80C, a rebate of up to Rs 1 lakh is available in income tax, whereas in the section 80 CCCF, an additional rebate of Rs 20,000 is available.

4. Employees Provident Fund (EPF)

In the EPF, the Rupee is deposited which is 12% of every employee's Basic Salary deducted every month. Income tax exemption can be claimed in the EPF amount upto 1.5 lakh. For the financial year 2017-18, an interest of 8% on the deposit amount will be given in the EPF.

5. Home Loan Payment

You are eligible for the exemption under the principal repayment of Home Loan Section 80C. If you have purchased a new home and have taken home loan for it, you can take advantage of it in section 80C. Here's a point to note that the monthly installment (EMI) of housing loan consists of two components - "principal" and "interest". You will get discounts only under Section 80C of the amount of the principal portion. The interest portion is also eligible for income tax exemption but not under section 80C, it is under section 24.

6. Investments in Public Provident Fund (PPF)

Deposits deposited in PPF account are eligible for tax deduction under Section 80C. To open an account in the PPF, the account can be opened at a minimum of Rs 500, while tax exemption can be claimed by depositing a maximum of 1.5 lakh in a full fiscal year. In PPF, interest is paid every year on deposited amount, which is determined by the Finance Ministry. The interest rate for the financial year 2017-18 is 7.8%. PPF has a tenure of 15 years, after which the withdrawal is tax-free. Loan can also be taken on deposit amount in PPF.

7. Investing in Fixed Deposit (FD)

If the amount deposited in the term deposit is kept in the bank in the income tax scheme for 5 years, then that amount is eligible for tax deduction under Section 80C. In this, tax benefit up to Rs 1.5 lakh can be earned. It earns 7-9% interest on deposits. However each bank offers different interest in it. The problem with this is that if you deduct the deposit after the maturity period, the interest earned as interest is added to the taxable income.

8. National Savings Certificate (NSC)

The NSCs used in the financial year are used to save tax in the same year. To save taxes under Section 80C, up to 1.5 lakhs can be invested in NSC. NSCs can be bought from registered post offices but their maturity period is 5 years. Interest is available annually but the interest is taxable. The current interest rate for the fiscal year 2016-17 is 8.1% on NSC.

9. Investment in Unit Linked Insurance Plans (ULIP)

ULIP is a mixture of insurance and investment. A portion of the amount invested in ULIP is used to provide insurance and the balance is invested in the stock market. Investments up to Rs 1.5 lakhs in ULIP are eligible to save income tax under Section 80C. ULIP does not give guaranteed returns because they are equity market-linked products. The disadvantage of ULIP is that they do not clearly tell where the investment has been done and how much the rupee has been deducted for the commission and other expenses.

10. Investments in Sukanya Samrudhi Yojana

In the Sukanya Samrudhi Yojana, the account can be opened till the age of 10 years from the date of birth of a girl. It can be deposited from minimum 1000 rupees to a maximum of 1.5 lakh every year. Income tax up to 1.5 lakhs is deducted through this scheme under Section 80C. Interest rate 8.6% for the financial year 2016-17 has been set on the Sukanya Samrudhi Yojana. The tax on the total interest earned on the end of the scheme does not seem to be taxed. This account lasts 21 years from the date of opening or the girl's age is 18 years.

11. Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS)

Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS) is a product of Government of India. This is one of the safest investment options. People over 60 years of age can open this account. Investment can not be withdrawn for 5 years under this scheme. Depositors can increase this deposit and for 3 years. In this scheme, the depositor gets 8% - 9% interest. Interest received from the investment is not tax free.

Thus, you can save income tax with the above 11 ways given above. It is important to keep in mind that the government is giving exemption to invest money in all these mediums so that the people can be encouraged to invest in savings and investment. What are ULIPs

There have been many discussions about ULIPs for the past few years, which you may have noticed. This is a hybrid product that combines life insurance and investment. Like any other life insurance product, it involves investment and insurance.

However, the decision to select an investment from available fund options is left to the policy holder so that the risk of investment is put on the policyholder. Such policies can prove to be more profitable than conventional insurance policies, but there is a greater risk to it.

A few days back my friend called me and asked about suggestions for ULIPs as one of the Top Private Sector bank's Relationship Manager was chasing him for selling a ULIP policy.

You must read the article, as i am a banker and that too working in one of the top most Private Sector Banks in India. This will include in and out of ULIPs, are the good or not for investments etc.
Stick with me to know what i suggested my friend, but before that let's just have some basic knowledge about the much pitched product by banks to its customers.

What are ULIPs ?

A unit linked insurance plan is a product where insurance and investment benefits are integrated into one. These are offered by insurance companies and it was first launched by the Unit Trust of India (UTI). These are mainly available in India.

How does the ULIPs work ?

ULIP is a combination of insurance and investment. When you pay a premium, one part of it is used by the insurance company to provide you insurance coverage and the rest are used to invest in debt and equity securities.

How are ULIPs, similar to a mutual funds ?

Like a mutual fund, premiums are deposited simultaneously to invest in proportion and you can personalize your investment on the basis of your investment needs and get the benefit of the risks. Your ULIP will keep a fixed number of funds, which holds the NAV (Net Asset Value) declared on a daily basis. The value of each unit of a fund calculates by dividing the total value of the fund's investment by the total number of total units. The rate of return is determined by NAV.

How are insurance policies similar to ULIPs ?

In this you will receive life coverage like life insurance policy. You have to pay premium to the insurance company. The premiums are different depending on the plan you take. The lump sum amount (single premium) can be initially invested or you can opt for periodic payments with annual, semi-annual or monthly premiums.

Premium Plan

You can pay lump sum in the form of premium alone or you can opt for periodic payments based on your plan for a fixed period of years.

Risks in ULIPs

As you hear or read in every insurance company's advertising, "They are subject to market risks. Please read policy documents carefully before investing." Ensure that you read and understand the ULIP's statement before buying it. Your return from your United Linked Insurance plan is directly related to market performance and you can face full risk as a policy holder in the future.

Charges on ULIPs:

The charges applicable on the ULIPs will be applicable to the insurance company, administration fees, fund management charges, switch charges, surrender charges, mortality, premium allocation charges, partial withdrawal charges etc. These are different depending on your insurance company policies.

Death Benefit:

The return on the death of the policyholder will be completely tax free. Maturity: The gain received on maturity is tax free under 10D.

Partial Withdrawal:

If the refund is not greater than 20% of the fund value of the policy and the lock-in period is created after the expiry, then it is tax-free.

Premium:

You can claim a tax rebate on premium paid on ULIPs, which have been invested in equity, debt or money market instruments under Section 80C. For the present and the coming year, the limit of Section 80C is 1.5 lakhs.

Tax Benefit:

In the later phase, additional premiums offered in the scheme are tax-exempt under section 80C and 10D, if it is not more than 10% of the sum insured.

Capital protection:

Sum Assured is guaranteed under the life insurance policy until the premium is paid on the policy and the policy is in progress.

Protection against inflation:

Life insurance does not protect against inflation, because insurance has a fixed cover, a fixed duration in which the sum assured is also fixed. However, in the equity fund option, there is an opportunity to create wealth in the long run, keeping inflation behind. But there is no guarantee that higher returns will be available than inflation.

Guarantee:

The sum assured (sum assured) is guaranteed and the premium is fixed during the policy term. There are also some profitable policies with a minimum compensation guarantee, which vary according to the insurance companies and the policy.

Liquidity:

ULIPs have a lock-in period of five years and after 10 years of change in the budget, technically it has reached 10 years. Selling a unit that has been invested in a premium can get liquidity. The investor can surrender the policy in an unfinished case or surrender the policy due to loss.

Option to exit:

The policy can be surrendered or closed due to financial loss. Terms and Conditions apply.

Other risks:

There is a risk of decreasing premiums after you purchase a policy. There is also a risk of premium rising. Apart from this, new risks that may well meet your financial needs are also at risk.

Benefits of ULIPs:

Market-Linked: Since ULIPs are invested in funds, market-linked instruments, so if the market is in your favor then you get an opportunity to get extraordinary returns.

Life Insurance: Its insurance policy also provides life cover coverage, with many features.

Long Term Savings: ULIPs are usually extended for a period of 5 years or more. Just like an insurance plan, long-term commitment is required to pay premium, for which the policy will be well paid when mature.

Flexibility: ULIP gives you the option to switch between different investment plans, according to your needs.

Tax free: Profit from ULIP is tax free under Section 80C and 10D.

Hindrance in ULIPs:

Charges: These amounts to 11-12 % of total premium paid.

Dependence on Market: If markets are down at the end of your maturity period, you can imagine the loss.

Limited choice of funds to invest in: If you are considering a particular company than you will have to invest in there funds only.

So this brings us to the final part,

I suggested my friend not to invest in ULIPs, main reason being the charges, for eg. a premium of Rs. 1,00,000 p.a. would fetch Rs. 11,000 to Rs.12,000 in charges only, if that gets invested in a Mutual Fund, you can expect a return of at least 8%.

4. Understand why things are changing

Whats driving the news? Is is affecting or being affected by another category you're monitoring? If not should you begin monitoring other related categories?

You should make sense in monitoring or it will be of no use. Classify positive news differently from negative news to make it easier to distinguish the direction of trends.

This brings to my final point.

5. Translate the news into an Opportunity profile

Monitoring news for dangers, opportunities, and trends is the payoff.

News that car owners are keeping their vehicles longer and driving them more miles per year, might encourage someone in the automotive after care market to expand business and promotion.

The point is this : somehow you must translate the news into an opportunity profile in order to make money by analyzing the news.

With the help of this you may choose to be contrarian and do the opposite.

For millennia, mankind has been using oracles, prophets and signs to answer the question "Whats going to happen ?" Monitoring the news is a sure way to answer this question.

No apologies for making money using news

I make no apologies for using news to make money, Nor should you. We are all interested in profiting and why not, are we not taking the risk ? And the score card is money. Tell me if you know any body who is interested in loosing money ?

And we can make money or avoid losses- which is the same thing- by spotting trends, opportunities, and dangers before other people do. Because when other people do, the "window of opportunity" has closed.

I don't expect to see a trend for a critical issue years before other do, but is i can see it six months- may be even less- before others, I can get a head start, which will be of sufficient advantage. So can you.

Here are some of the ideas that will help you use the news as a window to the future to look up the stock markets prices today or tomorrow and list all the stock that are worth buying.

Let's get started for a relay of 5 methodologies:

1.News is Marketed, not Reported

Do you care, Whether that particular potholes has been fixed by the Mumbai Municipal Coporation as its Monsoon season now or Whether Salman Khan will marry or not (considering this serious topic ☺️☺️ ) ? Probably not. Are you interested in understanding why that interviewee, who is interviewed by Arnab Goswami, walks off mid of the show (which a routine now a days) ? Not really. Do you want to know who is the third best all rounder of Bangladesh in the on going ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 ?

These news items are not reported because there is no interest in them. If I, as reporter , thought you should know third best all rounder of Bangladesh in the on going ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, I'd get fired.

Media compete for mind share just as companies compete for market share. So news focuses on what people want to know - or the news dosen't sell. How do news reporters find out what people want to know? By asking, through interviews and polls. By listening/ Watching frequency of news aired in other media.

Example: People began paying more attention to Yoga as the guru started showing it live on the idiot box, or take the example of Chernobyl, does any body had any idea before the promos of the shows started on Hotstar.

So the first step in spotting trends, opportunities and benefiting from what you spot- is to recognise that news is marketed, it is not reported. Why stocks are down today? Todays stock market closing price ? Stock Market crash 2014?

2.The Dog that dose't Bark

In one of the tales of Sherlock Holmes, the great detective was asked, "Is there any other point to which you wish to draw my attention ?"

"The dog did't bark", said Holmes

"The dog did nothing in the night time ", came the response.

"That was the curious incident," the absence of a bark can be as significant as the presence of it, remarked Holmes.

Similarly, the absence of news tells what the public dosen't care to know. For example, How much water is wasted by a household ? Do we have the answer ? Why ? No interest.

As a news monitor, you must pay attention to news that isn't news- that is, news that isn't reported. If it isn't there, it won't change anything.

News that reappears after some time also to be monitored. In other words, you must to listen for the "dog that dosen't bark"

3.Scan selected Media

While during recharging of my dish network recently, my father asked me to subscribe to only 2 market related channels. Why so ?

Overload of information will only confuse you. Have a top to down approach. For eg: If rainfall is below average this season, What impact it will have on the states concerned ?, What will industries related to Agriculture produce or Food productions do in this case ?

If the bottom level industries is getting affected, those dependent on these will also be affected.

The Future is in front of our eyes

How much would you pay for that next month's Wall Street Investment Journal ?, Dalal Street Investment Journal ?, Money Today?, Outlook Money? and many more, A bundle!

Information, like Money, has a present value. The longer you take to recognize it, the less value there is in it.

And, to your surprise the future is taking place now and is being reported to you all the time by your own idiot box only.

Exactly, do not panic, failure to spot change and respond to it can be hazardous to your economic health but it can be done with reasonably accuracy.

My father, now a retired Government Officer, watches relevant channels related to Stock Market and analysis upon the advice given by various Stock Market Masters. He gains a bit but yes he losses also. Over time he has developed a system for investments which he abides by.

In the field of statistics there is a concept called a "Naive Model" which simply means that what has happened will happen again.

Again, the "Elliott Wave Theory" assumes that economic cycles repeat themselves. Do people collectively react the same way ? Every time ? Are we that robotic ?

If that is true why didn't the so called Stock Market Masters predict the market crash of 1865 (pre BSE era),1992 and 2007 to name a few.

And, why were they not able to predict the crash of 2008 due to Bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers which resulted in an anchor drop crash.

You just have to take to news from different perspective, by connecting the dots forward not backward. What is the general tone of the news ? How people will react to it ? What additional information can be gathered ?

If you could read or listen every news article in every news channel , magazine, newspaper etc ,encode them into categories, and count the volume of news on every subject. You would conclude that those news receiving higher volume are the major issues of the day.

Not a startling conclusion, right ?

But these major issues represents pressure points for potential change, trends and opportunities. You have to be a news scanner not consumer. You should be able to understand what's not written.

This takes me to " John Naisbitt's Methodology". He monitored 6,000+ newspaper monthly to discover what was being written about. If some news is being repeated, it means the news is important for that time hours and what if a new news is being reported, you guessed it right, the previous news is not relevant for that time hours.

This is an important point because if something forces its way into the news, something is forced out of it. This means the news has outcompeted all other issues that could have been reported, which in turn means the issue is important for the consumers for that time hours.

Now, I can't track news by this method of Mr.John Naisbitt, nor can you. But i can give you some ideas that will make you a better news monitor.
