How are you doing this evening? Had a busy day here. Made some more bath bombs. I put them in baskets to sell for Mother's Day. Fingers crossed! Been painting, too. I will try to post some pictures of that also. Here's a before and after. Ok, so just the after. Believe me when I tell you, it looks soooo much better after!

Hello again!
I'm back to share a few more things that I have been working on. I took aloonnngg time off from blogging. I hope I can keep up with the blog again. I have missed doing it! Maybe more than I realized. Anyways....
I have been doing a lot of projects. Some are successful, others not so much. The newest endeavor is bath bombs. I love them. I love making them. My goodness it has been way too long. Life has a funny way of getting away from you doesn't it? I have been wanting to get back to blogging, I miss it! Maybe it is time to start again. In the time I have been off I have started new ventures. I am loving rehabbing furniture! There's something about taking old trash and making new treasures. I call my endeavor "ReVived". I pick furniture and re do it. It has been fun. I just started making bath products also. I have been doing things, still creating. We have been good over all. So maybe I'm back or maybe it is temporary. I don't know. We will play it by ear. If I can figure out how to do this with my phone it will be much easier. Hope you all are doing well! Wow, I can't believe it has been 5 months since I have done anything on here. Did you miss me? I have missed being here. Summer has come and is on it's way out. I love fall. Just a quick little visit to say hello, also things have been going okay. We are getting used to "the new normal". I myself am getting over some "sinus thing". I really do intend to get back to blogging soon. I have to start coming up with some new craft ideas. I really can't wait for spring to actually stay! We keep getting teases and then we get hit with more snow. I will try to get back again soon. Maybe an explanation or two of what has been going on. Have a sweet day!

Yes, pink lights! Were you expecting something else? Since this tree is in my craft room, it's ALL MINE! Do you like the little elf on top? He is an Annalee Dolls(TM) elves. Have you heard of them? We have used them in our decorating forever. I think I've had this one for about 20 years. We have them all over our house at Christmas. I'm not sure if this company is still around. My Mom started using these little guys when I was still in school. Find them here. I just Googled it. I guess they are still around. I haven't bought any in a long time. I love their cute little faces. I will share more of our Christmas decorations soon! Have a sweet day!

A few years ago my neighbor moved and left the curb filled with "trash". My hubby saw them carrying it out and called me out to see the stuff. He always lets me know when there's good stuff to see! He takes care of me. A perfectly good ladder, this, and much more that stayed there.

You know everything has to be inspected by Daffie. This old gate has been sitting in our shed for years. I finally decided it was time to do something with it. It was easy enough to take apart. Then I just put some of it back together.

I made my letters out of card board. I covered the letters with a plastic table cloth I got for $1. The gold "nails" are upholstery tacks that hold the letters on. This now sits by the front porch as a greeter. I don't have a picture of it out there because it has been really cold out lately. When Christmas decorations come down I can just take the red letters off and put something else on. It was easy enough to make and practically free. I like how it turned out. What do you think?

Christmas Tree Show

This past weekend the family and I visited a benefit Christmas tree show. You can read all about it here. The proceeds from the show benefit Children's Hospital of Akron. The trees are decorated, donated, and then sold. We try to go every year. I will share some pictures of trees I took.

I took these with my phone I hope they came out clear enough. The first tree is a dream in red and white. Probably my favorite tree. There are hundreds of trees here, so remember these are a few of my favorites the ones that really caught my eye.

Cute Frosty tree. There was a larger tree there also that was Santa, my Boy's favorite and apparently I didn't get one single picture of it. Go figure.

Cupcakes and sweets on this one. That's all that needs to be said.

Are you a Coca-Cola lover? I am, but ahh not this much. Still cute though.

How about an avid reader? I think this one is interesting, not too Christmasy, but still very nice. So this is just one of the family activities we did over the weekend. How about you? Have a sweet day!

I am taking this week off from blogging. There are many wonderful things to get done this week at home. As we all know, Thursday is Thanksgiving. I will be hard at work all week preparing for the days after Thanksgiving. We go to my brother's house on Thanksgiving for dinner and stuff. We also have our own Thanksgiving dinner here. Usually the Friday or sometimes the Saturday after. We cook the turkey and fixings and while they are cooking we decorate for Christmas! I love this tradition for us. So in preparation for this momentous occasion, I will be deep cleaning the house all week. We will bring up our Christmas decorations and figure out where everything will go. I really can't wait! I love the smell of turkey, the songs of Christmas playing, and the laughter we three share these days. I especially LOVE eating leftover turkey in Christmas tree light! Don't you just love the holidays? So from my family to you and your family:

Friday's Finds #4

Hey there! Welcome to the 4th edition of Friday's Finds. This weeks item started out as a picture frame. I thought it would make a cute small tray. The metal part of the frame was supposed to be gold. It was having some identity issues, not quite gold but not really silver either. Unfortunately I was so eager to start I forgot all about the before picture. I took the back off and covered a piece of card board with pretty Christmas material from my stash. Then I spray painted the frame a very pretty gold color.

I put the frame back together, of course after the front glass got a good washing. I added some rubber grommets (I had left from other projects) to the back for "feet".

I think this will look cute with some candles and maybe some greenery on it. Maybe for a side table or something. Here it is finished and waiting for the extras.

I can't show it to you with the Christmas goodies yet because we haven't started our Christmas decorating yet. That will start the day after Thanksgiving. I seriously can't wait!
The frame was about $2.00 and I already had everything else here. I forgot to mention that I removed the back of the frame, you know the part that has the stand that holds it up. I replaced it with a piece of card board.The paint drying took the longest. So that's it. I think a larger one for the dining room table would be cute, too. What do you think? Have a sweet weekend.

I made another trip to the library last week. Here are some of the books I checked out. Now you can check them out too. Don't you love a play on words checked out/ library. I think I'm petty clever anyways.

These are from the book House Beautiful Quick Changes copy right 2013 by Heart Communications. This one was my favorite. Pretty pictures.

Puddin' by Clio Goldman w/ Adeena Sussman copy right 2013. Pudding, I mean who doesn't love pudding? New York City Puddin' dessert shop. Yumm.

Dreams From Home by Tracy Porter copy right 1998 by Tracy Porter. Interesting book but, not really my cup of tea.

Couture Prairie and Flea Market Treasures by Rachel Ashwell copy right 2013 Rachel Ashwell. I love this look! Don't think my guys would go for it though. Very pretty!

Like I've said before I love just walking through the aisles of books and picking anything and every thing that looks interresting to me. I come out with a bagful so heavy I can hardly carry it. An entire cold, rainy afternoon worth of reading. I love to grab a cup of tea, my favorite snuggly blanket and head to the couch. Fall is perfect for that! Have you looked at any good books lately? Craft shows

I love going to craft shows. Once upon a time I even participated in them. It was such fun setting up, selling, and seeing all the people. The money wasn't bad either. Except when it was, which is why I stopped doing them. Well, the craft show bug has bitten me again. It's obviously too late this year to start that's for sure. Maybe I can come up with something fun to make and fun fun to sell again. Lighted bottles, that's what I used to make and sell. In case you were wondering. For a little while more recently I made faux cupcakes, which was the reason I started this blog in the first place. I haven't made any for some time now. Maybe I could try those again. I personally think the lighted bottle "craze" is done, which is too bad because those were really fun to make. Anyhow, now I am completely off track. This started as a post about craft shows in general. I went to really nice one yesterday. People are so talented. Most of the time I would share pictures of our outings but, as a former craft show seller with respect for other crafters, no pictures were taken. So you have to trust me when I say this was the best craft show I have been to so far this year! It was at our local fair grounds. It is in a big building indoors where they hold it. So much to look at. I was very impressed. That's not where the bug bit me though. I have been wanting to do shows for a little while now. Hmmm. Time to get my thinking cap on! Have you been to any craft shows yet? Were they good? Not all of them are. We went to one with so many of the same things. Booth after booth of pretty much the same items just in different colors, styles, etc. Or the one that had so many "company" products. Those are not crafts if you ask me. I know, you didn't. Just my opinion. Get out to some local craft shows you won't be sorry. It is still fun to go even if they are not the best. Especially if you go with fun special people! Have a sweet day!

Friday's Finds #3

                                                  This weeks post is a bit different because I decided that I would just keep this find pretty much the way I found it. I mean it's pretty cute already. I will probably put a new candle or rather a candle in it seeing that there isn't one in there yet. I think I will use it on my faux mantle. I haven't figured out exactly what I'm going to do with the mantle for Christmas yet, so that will be another post for another day. I paid $2.00 for it at the thrift store. I had thought about adding an electric light to it, but decided not too. I will have to show you later how it looks with whatever I do to the mantle.

Pretty cute, huh? Still has the original tag on it. So that's it. Have you found anything good lately? Keep looking you will! Have an amazingly sweet weekend. I have plans to visit some craft shows. I can't wait.

                                                   I've been seeing these "eat signs" popping up a lot lately. I really like the way they look in some of the pictures of kitchens I have seen recently. I decided my kitchen needed some too. The Sunday paper came and low and behold look what was in one of the weekly sales ads.

Notice the price tag on these beauties. On sale $39.99

                                                   Did ya catch that price? Yes look again. I'll wait. Can you believe they want $39.99 for them and that's the sale price. Well, we all know that is just not going cut it with me. I decided to make my own. Now I'm sure the red beauties are probably wooden. I don't need no stinkin wood ones. Besides red won't match my kitchen. Let's see what we can do.

                                                   I found these letters at the craft store. They are the paper mache' kind. They were just under $2.00 each. Not bad. I am happy with them. I decided to make mine black. I already had black spray paint. You guessed it, I painted them black.

                                           I thought they could use something else. So, I lightly sanded the edges and then put a light coat of stain on. You really can't tell from the pictures. They look better, more detail in person. Here they are hanging up on my wall.

I think they came out kind of cute. I am happy with results. So let's compare again. Theirs:

A Stack of gifts

I had these nesting boxes. Which are cute the way they are , but not for Christmas. I started by poking holes through the tops and bottoms so a dowel rod would fit.

Each box got 2 holes except the top box and bottom box, the top box got one on the bottom and the bottom box got a hole in the top. Tricky, huh?

Next they all got wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper and a matching bow. I was careful not to put the ribbon over the holes in the boxes. I put some tape over the paper and made slits (X shaped).

Kind of hard to see. I think you get the idea though. I did this on all the boxes except the top box. You cover the top of the top box, no hole to worry about there.

Stack the boxes on the dowel rod. Put a bow on top. Now the stack of presents will make a nice display and you don't have to worry about keeping them in a stack.

All dressed and stacked up with no place to go yet. I have to figure where to display them in my Christmas decorating. Can you believe it's almost that time of year again? I'm so excited! These were made with things I already had here. You will notice my bow on the top is different from the ribbon. I ran out and didn't want to buy more so I checked my ribbon stash and found this candy cane print. When do you start your decorating? Do you do a little or a lot? We do our main decorating the day after Thanksgiving. We do a lot! Have a sweet day.

Meet Mack

This is Mack. Well that's what I've always called him. He likes hanging around my craft room. My Boy made him in Kindergarten or maybe it was First grade, not sure. Isn't he cute? He really likes hanging on my new magnetic board, much better than being taped to the door, don't you think. Mack and I agree! This was originally a welcome sign with a small chalk board on it. I painted the whole thing black and attached this metal piece I had left over from a stamping project I did years ago. Mack is so much happier here! When I look at him I remember how little my Boy seemed when he made him in school. And that makes me smile...... a lot! Have a sweet day!
