OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER - A DISORDER WITHOUT PREVENTION METHODS

It's too common that we check whether our house is locked or not before we go out. But if you get affected by repeated obsessions and compulsions, then it is called "OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE SYNDROME" (OCD). Obsessive compulsive syndrome is an anxiety disorder characterized by uncontrollable thoughts and repetitive behaviors. It affects 1-2% of the population.

Most people with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) fall into one of the following categories:

Checking: People who repeatedly check things to prevent from harm or danger. for example door locked,stove turned off etc..

Hoarding: People who feel unable to throw things away instead they are not using it.

Contamination :People who are afraid of Contamination. (Usually Hand Washing and Cleaning).

SYMPTOMS IN OCD:

Compulsive things:

Compulsive hand washing and cleaning more times.
Compulsive checking of things 2,3,4 times and so on.
Compulsion in keeping unnecessary things.
Compulsive reading more times

Obsessions thoughts:

Obsessive fear of being contaminated by germs
Obsessive fear of being harm
Obsessive fear of losing things you might need
Excessive focus on things which are lucky or unlucky.

PREVENTION:

Unfortunately, there is no way to prevent from Obsessive-compulsive disorder. But it can be treated if detected early.

TREATMENT:

Psychotherapy is an effective treatment for people who get affected from OCD. ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) is one of the categories in Psychotherapy. exposing the OCD patient to a feared object or obsession and make them learn some healthy ways to handle their anxiety. It seems to be disliked by most of the people. But, really it takes effort to make people cope up with their compulsions and obsessions. Once people learn to handle their obsessions and compulsions, they can enjoy their life.

Disk Clean up

Removes temporary Internet files.
Empties the Recycle Bin
Removes downloaded program files
Removes Windows temporary files

OK, Let us see the step by step instructions to clean up the disk (with pictures).

STEP #1: Click on Windows Icon and then Select My Computer.

STEP #2: Right click on Local Disk (C:) and then select Properties.

STEP #3: A dialog box will be shown like this.

STEP #4: Click on Disk Cleanup.

STEP #5: A dialog box will be shown like this.

STEP #6: Click on Clean up System files.

STEP #7: Disk is cleaning up and it takes few minutes.

STEP #8: Click on OK.

STEP #9: Click on Delete files.

STEP #10: Disk clean up takes some time to clean the unnecessary files.

4 WAYS TO CONTROL YOUR ANGER - before it hurts someone

Each and every person has his/her own emotions and feelings. Don’t bother about that “I’m getting angry at some occasions” because it is too normal. But I have to remind you one thing “Getting angry is usual” but “Hurting someone is not usual and not acceptable”. You may ask me “why did you say like this?” Let me explain the reason behind this. Usually people are of 2 categories whenever they are angry.

Category #1: Keep silence and try to control their selves

Category #2: Hurting someone who is nearby them

If you are in Category #1, then you don’t need to worry about getting angry. But if you are in Category #2, then I request you to kindly change this character of hurting others. Just think before you speak.Here I want to tell you a story.

Once upon a time, there was a boy in a school. He was too naughty and he is of Category #2. One day he got scolded by his teacher because of his mischief behavior. After returned to home, he exposed his anger to his mother. She felt so bad because of his behavior. She wanted to change his character and asked him “Don’t you feel bad about having such a bad character?” He replied to his mom “Mom, I want to change my character but I can’t. Please help me to control my anger”. Mom said “Have these 50 nails and Hammer these nails in our wall” .

He did as his mother said and he went to his mom and said “Mom, I finished it”. But Mom said “No, your task is not just hammering nails, remove those nails from wall”. But it is not so easy to remove the nails as compared to hammer the nails. However, he did that too.

Now, his mom came and looked over the wall. The wall was full of holes. She asked him “Why the wall is full of holes?” He silently replied “I hammered nails and removed them so it is full of holes” His mother again asked him “After you hammered the nails you removed it from the wall. Even you removed it; still there are holes that are made by nails. So my dear son always keep in mind once you hurt someone by your words, then you cannot change it forever”.

I hope you understand the story well. Now, if you wish to control your anger, then I will help you. Just follow the steps given below whenever you are feeling angry.

Step #1: Keep Silence and Leave that Place. It will prevent you from hurting others.

Step #2: Keep Silence for few minutes till you get rid of anger because taking decisions or thinking in anger leads to serious problems.

Step #3: Take a white sheet and write all the things which you are thinking. (If you are still in angry, then Read it and tear the sheets into bits of paper).

Step #4: Again keep calm for few minutes. Now you feel really relaxed.

Usually I don’t get angry for silly occasions. But sometimes, I got anger. Whenever I feel angry, I do the above steps. I don’t know whether it works for you? But I feel happy if it prevents you from hurting others. Actually I feel proud to say that “I’m always of Category #1”. Then what about you?

Synchronizing files in Windows BRIEFCASE

Briefcase is one of the most important features of Windows OS. If you work on files outside your main computer (using a portable computer, for example), you can use Briefcase to synchronize the files with their counterparts on your main computer when you finish working on them.

When you reconnect your portable computer to your main computer (or insert a removable disk containing the modified files), Briefcase automatically updates files on your main computer to the modified versions. You do not need to move modified files out of Briefcase or delete the existing copies on your main computer.

Briefcase stores files and displays their status. For instance, it can show you whether a file is linked to the original file on your main computer, or whether it is a separate file. This information helps you keep files organized and prevents you from accidentally deleting or copying over the most recent version of a file.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

When you are using Briefcase to copy files from your main computer to your portable computer, the two computers must be connected, either over a network or with a direct cable connection.

TO CREATE A NEW BRIEFCASE:

To open My Computer, click Start, and then click My Computer.
Click the folder in which you want to create the new Briefcase.
On the File menu, point to New, and then click Briefcase.

(or)

To create a Briefcase on your Desktop, right click anywhere on the desktop, click New, and then click Briefcase.

You can use the Windows Briefcase to help you organize and keep your documents up-to date between two Personal Computers.

There are four easy steps to work with Briefcase:

Drag your important files in to the Briefcase.
Take the Briefcase with you as you travel by keeping it on your laptop computer or dragging it onto a floppy disk.
Make changes either to the files inside the Briefcase or to the original files.
Click Update All on the Briefcase menu to bring you files up-to date

TO CHECK THE STATUS OF FILES IN BRIEFCASE

Open Briefcase, and then click the file you want to check.
On the File menu, click Properties.
Click the Update Status tab.

NOTES:
To find the copy of the file that is outside Briefcase (which is the counterpart to the copy that is stored in Briefcase), on the Update Status tab, click Find Original.
If you want to view the status of the files that are stored in Briefcase and the status column does not appear in the right pane of the Briefcase window, on the View menu, click Details.

How to start a blog for free(with Pictures)

At first, I thought that creating a blog is a difficult task because I know only the basics of HTML and PHP. Before start this blog,my opinions about blog are:

Blogger should be well versed in coding like HTML, HTML 5, CSS, PHP.
Blogger should pay to create a blog.
Lot of Intelligence about different Fields.

But when I was browsing, I came to know that good knowledge about coding is not necessary to start a blog. The great news is we need not pay to create a blog in blogger.com, WordPress.org etc. You can start your own blog at various areas like Technology, Sports, Travel, Entertainment, Education, Personal etc.. But you should take your own time to think about why you decided to start a blog, the name and URL of your blog because the URL of your blog should be related to the posts and pages of your blog. For example, consider your blog is focusing on sports but if your blog URL is related to education then it will be of no use. So, just think over it. Now, I will guide you to start a blog in BLOGGER with step by step instructions.

STEP #1: Type the "blogger.com" in address bar.

STEP #2: Sign in to Gmail.com.

STEP #3: Now you will be redirected to the following page. Click on New Blog as shown in below

STEP #4: Enter the Title and Address (URL) of your blog and check it's availability

STEP #5: Check whether it is available or not. If it is available, click Create.

STEP #6: Now, your blog is created, click on your blog name to see the details about your blog.

STEP #7: That's it. You created your blog. Enjoy Blogging. Please comment on it to improve myself as a blogger.
