A Writer's Wishlist

Remove yourself from your daily life and contemplate your inner wordsmith. Meditate. What does this inner scribbler really want? A new computer? Screenwriter's software? An agent? A new desk with loads of cubby holes and drawers? If you really consider things that can help you perform better as a writer, you might surprise yourself. Or, maybe not.

My personal wish list consists of these things:

One free day a week without any parenting duties. (I know, it's a stretch, but a girl can dream, no?)
A new Macbook. The hubs has promised this after Christmas. Close enough.
The book, 101 Words to Make You Sound Smart. Because, you know, sounding smart is, like, a requirement for writers. Totally.
Apple's Scrivener writing software. If I'm going to write a novel, I should, at least, have some tools to make it easier! It's gotten good reviews, and anything that makes the process less tedious for me is a definite plus.
Private clients. Sure, I like having steady work with content farms, but I'd be silly for not wanting to expand my client base.
The creativity and wit of Carl Hiaasen, the prolific reach of Danielle Steel, and the knowledge and perseverance of Jean Auel. That isn't too much to ask, is it?

I'm sure I've missed something. I always do. I'm forgetful. Ever since Buttercup was born, my brain's been pathetically absent. Example: The hubs sent me to the store for cough medicine. I went, picked up diapers, baby food, formula: I came home with everything but the cough medicine. I even forgot to use the coupon I had for the formula. It's still there, in the back pocket of my jeans. Wait a minute, didn't I just wash those?

Perhaps I should add some brains to my list.
