The Dallas Cowboys is getting a coach that has proven he can coach defenses. He will bring in his famed Tampa 2 defense that changed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fortunes and got them a Super Bowl win. For Kiffin it let's him get back to the NFL where he loves to coach. What many people are overlooking is the addition of Rod Marinelli as well.

Marinelli is a great line coach and also will have an impact on the Dallas Cowboys defense. One of the problems the Cowboys had last year was stopping teams. With Kiffin and Marinelli in place the Cowboys have some great defensive minds on their staff. Look for the Cowboys to be much different and much better. It may take Kiffin and Marinelli a year or two, but it will be worth the wait as both know their craft very well.

The Dallas Cowboys are focused on their game against Miami, but looking ahead the road could be a tough one for America's Team. Dallas has Miami on Thanksgiving followed by a road game at Arizona. The Cardinals are not playing well, but playing in Arizona is never an easy game. Once the Ariza game is done they have four tough games. Two against the New York Giants, one against the Eagles and a game in Tampa. The Buccaneers will not be a pushover in Tampa by any means.

Dallas controls their own destiny especially if they can get a win against the Dolphins. It is always better that you can control your own destiny than have to hope someone else loses for you. The Cowboys have a chance to do something special and the last four games will tell us a lot about the 2011 Dallas Cowboys football team. Beating the Giants is always tough and the Eagles will not be a pushover either. Tampa Bay will be fighting for a playoff spot, and are always tough at home. No matter what it will be fun to watch.

Can The Cowboys Stuff The Dolphins

Now the wins may not be pretty, but the Dallas Cowboys will take them as they come. Beating Washington last week was huge, and this week they have another tough test. The Miami Dolphins come into town and on paper they may not look that great, but they have won three games in a row. Miami has nothing to lose and will do whatever it takes to keep their winning streak going. This is why the Dallas Cowboys have to be very careful with Miami.

The Dolphins have been playing well on both sides of the ball lately. Matt Moore has been very accurate and is not turning the ball over. On defense Miami has really been playing well. The Dallas Cowboys will have their hands full as Miami has gained a lot of confidence in the last three weeks. This means this will be another dogfight for the Dallas Cowboys.

Dallas and Tony Romo know every week is like that and they must continue to win and not worry about the critics that seem to be at every corner anymore. Every win gets them closer to a playoff spot and that is what Romo and the Boys are looking for. Taking it one game at a time is all you can do, and so far Romo and The Cowboys are doing well with that approach.

Patrick Crayton Wants Out And You Can't Blame Him

When the Dallas Cowboys drafted Dez Bryant many people thought it was a wake up call to Roy Williams. The truth is it will cut down the time Patrick Crayton will see on the field. It has already been cut down and grabbing Bryant was probably the final straw for Crayton. You really cannot blame Crayton for wanting out of Dallas. If he is kept around it will just to be used when the Cowboys have injuries and Crayton want's a full-time job. He has asked the Cowboys to trade him or release him, but so far nothing.

I honesty will be surprise if the Cowboys do cut him. He is a good insurance policy and the Cowboys understand this. Crayton really does not have a lot options from where he sits right now. In the end hopefully something will get worked out. Do not be surprised if he still is a Cowboy when regular camp opens up.

Roy Williams Is The Man Just Ask Him

Roy Williams is a piece of work. Instead of keeping quiet and just working hard to get better Williams has come out and said he is the man in Dallas. Williams stills thinks he will be a starter and best receiver on the team. Apparently, Roy Williams has not watch highlights of any of the past two seasons or he would not be saying that. Williams is a character that is for sure.

When asked about Dez Bryant Williams had an answer of course. Williams said Bryant will help us win like three more games. Oh if Roy Williams was just as good as he talks, the Dallas Cowboys would have won a Super Bowl with him. The bottom line is Roy Williams thinks he is the man and to bad no one else in the league or the Cowboys think that anymore.

Dallas Cowboys 2010 Schedule A Very Tough One

This season looking over the Dallas Cowboys schedule they have one of the toughest around. Besides divisional games which all will be tough this year at Green Bay, Minnesota, Arizona, and Indianapolis will be tough. Thanksgiving against New Orleans should be a real fun game to watch. The Cowboys will have a tough road to the playoffs this year. They will need to play even better than they did last year. In the road games the defense will need to step up if the Cowboys want chances to get road wins. Some of these road games are inside domes which makes it tough to play. No matter what the Cowboys will need to win the games they should and grab a couple on the road if they want to make the playoffs this year.
When he mentioned to the media about questions he was asked about his mom, he would have never guessed it would still be talked about. Instead of people talking about Dez Bryant and what he would like to accomplish in the NFL they still talk about his interview in Miami. Sometimes as a player it is best to keep what is said quiet until the time is right. I am sure he probably got some bad advice on when to talk about it.

Was the questioning out of line I guess that depends on who you talk too. Some people admit it was while others have said that it happens all the time. The one thing Dez Bryant has learned sometimes it is best to keep things to yourself. The press he has gotten about his mother has surpassed the real issue, what kind of football player he will be for the Dallas Cowboys. In the end for Bryant and the Dallas Cowboys what he does on the field matters more than what the media can ever talk about.

Why Dez Bryant Is What Roy Willams Needs

The Dallas Cowboys picked Dez Bryant as they could not pass on him in the NFL Draft. This pick should also tell Roy Williams this is probably his last year as a Dallas Cowboy as well. In fact picking Dez Bryant could actually help Roy Williams and not hurt him. For the last few years Roy Williams has been given a pass basically for his horrible play on the field. It seems all we here from him is excuses why he has not become the player he was suppose to be. Picking Dez Bryant should put him on notice.

Roy Williams needs to understand that poor play will not be tolerated anymore and picking Dez Bryant speaks volumes. Picking Dez Bryant thought should help Roy Williams in a couple of different ways. First Roy Williams should not have as much pressure as everyone will be talking about Dez Bryant and not Roy Williams. Secondly, Williams can play and not have to worry about being the main guy as that will be Miles Austin and Dez Bryant. Roy Williams has one more chance and maybe selecting Dez Bryant will push him enough to be the player he can.

Dez Bryant Could be The Best In The Draft

Many people felt that Dez Bryant had to much baggage, but I do not agree with that. Bryant is a talented receiver in the mode of Michael Irvin. Maybe that is why Bryant will be wearing the No. 88 this coming season. Bryant has good size along with good speed as well. He has good hands and runs good routes as well. Bryant is going to be a pleasant surprise and will open a lot of people's eyes. I am very impressed with this pick the Cowboys made.

This means guys like Sam Hurd and Patrick Crayton maybe used as trade bait. I would rather see Roy Williams go, but with his contract that will not happen. The Cowboys now have a lot of talent at wide receiver and this will help Tony Romo. Dez Bryant was the guy I hoped the Cowboys would get and it has worked out for once for the Cowboys.

Jerry Jones Opens Mouth Inserts Foot

A video has surfaced where we see a side of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones talking about Tim Tebow, Bill Parcells, and Tony Romo. The video first appeared on the website deadspin.com. In the video Jones is asked about different things and during the conversation he makes fun of Bill Parcells and tells how he used him to get his team rebuilt along with a new stadium. He talks about Tim Tebow and how he would not draft him as he would never get on the field. He also called Tony Romo a miracle. At least he had something good to say about someone.

This video is another example about how big Jerry Jones ego is and how little he cares about people. Jerry Jones is the same guy who came in and fired Tom Landry a classless move that still sticks in the crawl of many Dallas Cowboy fans. Jones has an ego bigger than Texas it seems and it's a shame to see a video like this come out, but it should not shock anyone. The video shows a reflection of what Jerry Jones is an owner with a big ego who could care less.

Duane Thomas Misunderstood Dallas Cowboy Star?

Many different things have been said about Duane Thomas and his career as a Dallas Cowboy. Thomas was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the 1970 NFL Draft. In 1970, he led Dallas and finished eighth in the NFL in rushing with 803 yards on 151 carries and five touchdowns. Thomas led the league in touchdowns in 1971 with eleven rushing touchdowns and thirteen overall. He also led Dallas in rushing with 793 yards on 175 carries. Duane Thomas star was bright and he wanted more and got into a contract dispute with the Cowboys which led to a trade in 1971 to the New England Patriots. He did not last there very long before the Patriots sent him back to the Dallas Cowboys.

Upon his return Duane Thomas refused to speak with any of the Cowboys players, coaches or management for the entire season. Even with this he did help the Cowboys to the their first Super Bowl win in Super Bowl VI. It was reported that Thomas was going to be named MVP, but since he was not talking to the media the award was given to Roger Staubach instead. Thomas was a moody guy, but the bottom line he ran the ball with the best of them. It's a shame his career did not last longer as a Dallas Cowboys. In his two years in Dallas he made an impact like very few have.

Dallas Cowboys 2010 Schedule

HOME
New York Giants
Minnesota Vikings
Arizona Cardinals
Houston Texans
Indianapolis Colts

The Dallas Cowboys schedule is very interesting this year. The Cowboys have to travel to Arizona,Green Bay, Indianapolis, Houston, and Minnesota. The game should be interesting in Arizona considering that many Cowboy players felt they ran the score up. Home games against the Saints and maybe the Titans are the only real tough ones besides normal conference games. It's a tough schedule especially on the road.
The real question though is he the one to do it. Romo has his detractors and just as many people think he is the guy to get the job done. One of the factors that determines if any quarterback can get his team to a Super Bowl is the players he has around him and his overall team as well. When you have a great defense a quarterback has the luxury if he does make a mistake he understands most of the time the defense will bale him out. An example of that was when Tampa Bay won the Super Bowl they had one of the best defenses and an average offense. The defense bale out the quarterback many times during that run. Another big factor is the players around Tony Romo as well. At running back the Cowboys has a good pair in Marion Barber and Felix Jones. The problem is at wide receiver. Miles Austin had a breakout year, but others really did not do much. Roy Williams has been a bust so far and the only other option Tony Romo really has Jason Witten. The Cowboys need to get Romo another receiver he can count on.

Tony Romo also has some shortcomings that he needs to work on as well. Romo's biggest problem is locking on one guy and going in that direction. When you do this the defense picks up on this and it makes it much tougher. Now another area that Romo needs to improve is protecting the ball. It seems when he is in the pocket he holds the ball out where it can be knocked out. Ball security is something that he needs to work on. Another area many people do not look at either is the offensive plays that are called. Many times Jason Garrett gets away from what is best for Tony Romo. When Marion barber is running well it seems Garrett goes away from that and that actually hurts Romo.

Can Tony Romo lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl? The answer is yes, but he cannot do it alone he needs everyone around him on offense and defense to help out. One of the things people should also remember that Romo is young and he is learning to play the position of quarterback in the NFL. He is no Peyton Manning and cannot do the things Manning does. If Romo plays within himself and the Cowboys get the proper players in place there is no reason why Tony Romo cannot lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl

Jerry Murdock Insurance Helping You Meet Your Insuance Needs

Now that Terrell Owens is a free agent again will Jones go after him. Do not count on that happening, but I thought I would throw it in. Miles Austin will be a Cowboy and something will be worked out as far as a contract goes for him. Now one of the things I think will happen could be in the area of Marion Barber. It seems Felix Jones has taken over the role as the No.1 back in Dallas.

If Jones is the No.1 back now this means that Marion Barber could be moved out of Dallas which has been rumored for several years. I guess we will have to wait and see on that one. According to people Roy Williams is safe in Dallas for at least another year. I don't know about that one. Jones could package Williams and Barber in a deal which would make sense for the Cowboys if they wanted to get rid of both.

No matter what the Cowboys do you know Jerry Jones will not sit by and not do something. He always likes keeping the Dallas Cowboys in front of people's eyes as much as possible. I will be interested to see if he makes any moves on draft day and exactly who he drafts. It should be an interesting off-season for the Dallas Cowboys and their fans.

Cowboys Dominate Eagles Again!

It looks like this season the Dallas Cowboys have the Philadelphia Eagles number this season. Last night the Dallas Cowboys used a swarming defense to keep Philadelphia off balance on way to a easy 34-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Tony Romo finished 23 of 35 for 244 yards with two touchdowns and no turnovers. He got deep into Philadelphia territory on nine of his first 10 drives, hitting eight receivers. His touchdowns went to rookie John Phillips and Miles Austin, and he even worked beleaguered Roy Williams back into the mix, hitting him five times for 59 yards.

For the Eagles Donovan McNabb wound up 19 of 37 for 230 yards, with a touchdown and an interception. Michael Vick threw a 76 yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to keep the game close for awhile. Two many mistakes doomed the Eagles and they really had no answers for the Cowboys defense. For Philadelphia it was another replay of what happened last week. The Eagles and Andy Reid just had no answers for the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys need to build off this win. It looks like Marion Barber was the odd man out last night. I did not really see him play much at all. It did not look like he was injured so this will be something we will need to watch next week.

Marion Barber Blitz

To get Dallas Cowboy fans ready for the game tonight here is a video of Marion Barber and some of his highlights. This is one of the hardest games to predict for many reasons. Beating a team three times in a season is tough especially someone in your own division. The Cowboys need to protect Romo and limit their turnovers. This game should be close and could be one of the best of the season.

The Cowboys seem to play well at home and I like the Cowboys to win by a score of 24-17. Now with all that said it would not shock me to see the Eagles pull an upset as this is how close this game is. The team with the fewest mistakes will win this game. I am hoping the Cowboys do as a playoff win would be so big for a Cowboy team that has none nothing in the playoffs lately.

Dallas-Philadelphia Preview Part 2

Here is the second part in our Dallas vs Philadelphia preview. The Dallas Cowboys defense has thrown two straight shutouts and do not expect them to make it three in a row. Containing the Philadelphia Eagles offense two weeks in a row is tough task to ask them. One of the first orders of business will be to control DeSean Jackson not stop him. Shutting him out two weeks in a row is very hard to do. Another thing the Dallas Cowboys must do is put pressure on Donovan McNabb. I would prefer that they kept him in the pocket. It seems when you let Donovan move around in the pocket he can become more of a problem.

Stopping any type of running game is something the Dallas Cowboys defense will also want to do. By doing this and making the Eagles one dimensional will give the Cowboys defense a much better chance for success. Another important key will be to limit the amount of big plays that the Eagles get. I have noticed that when the Eagles get big plays it seems to build their confidence. Once the Eagles build their confidence they are very tough to stop. Hopefully the Dallas defense will turn in another great performance. Tomorrow I will make my prediction of the game.

Dallas vs Philadelphia Week 9

I thought it would be great to see some of the highlights of week 9 so I posted them before. This is a big game especially for Cowboy fans who want to see some success in the playoffs and not failure. Lets get right to the preview. The first part we will talk about the Dallas Cowboys offense vs the Philadelphia defense.

Last week the Dallas Cowboys were able to protect Tony Romo real well and that was one of the main reasons for the Cowboys success in the game. That must continue this week as well. I look for the Eagles though to change up their blitz scheme so the Cowboys must be prepared for this. One way to slow down the blitzes is to run some draws and screen passes. Getting Felix Jones out on screens would be something I hope the Cowboys would do. Jones has great speed and may be able to break some long runs on Philadelphia defense if they blitz a lot.

Roy Williams is a guy the Cowboys need to have a big game. Most likely the Eagles will try to take away Miles Austin and Jason Witten so Williams should have one on one coverage. He needs to beat this coverage and come up with some big plays for the Cowboys. Last, but not least the Cowboys need to use Marion Barber much better and pound him when the third and fourth quarter arrives. Running the ball will keep the blitzes down and give Romo a better chance of success. The Cowboys offense can be the Cowboys defense best friend. By keeping long drives going the Eagles offense cannot be on the field.

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Always Make You Smile

If you are like me and most of the people in the United States you are digging out from another snowstorm. Lately though that has not been the case. Marion Barber and Felix Jones both have shared time depending on who had the hot hand. Is it about time we see if either is a No.1 back for the Cowboys. I like both of them, but both have had injuries so maybe neither is a true No.1 running back.

I think it is time the Cowboys figure out what they are going to do in the off-season. Using both backs seem to work okay right now, but how long will Barber and Jones like the prospect. Platooning running backs is one reason Julian Jones left the Cowboys. Unless the Cowboys decide which one is the true No.1 running back in the offense both may decide to leave for greener pastures where they get to be a No.1 back.

Felix Jones has the speed and Marion Barber is more of a punishing runner so the choice is very hard. I guess in time we will see what the Cowboys plans are. I just wish they would decide what they want to do. Many people think Barber is the No.1, but at times the way they use him it makes me wonder as well.

Tony Romo Rescued Cowboys?

I have not been the biggest fan of Tony Romo, but I do owe him some props as he has played very well in the last few weeks. He has been named NFC offensive player of the month for December. He also won the award in November 2006 and September 2007. I like Romo do not get me wrong, but many times he just makes mistakes that make you shake your head.

Lately though Romo has been playing much better and has taken care of the football as well. He seems to be more of a team leader and in December he has pretty much been perfect. Last week he played very well and this is a big game coming up for him. He has a chance to put away all the past failures with a good game and a Dallas Cowboy victory. I will be watching to see if he can come through or will the old Tony Romo surface. I guess we will find out real soon.

Can Dallas Make It Three Straight Shutouts?

The Dallas Cowboys defense has played excellent the last two weeks posting back to back shutouts. In their existence they have never gotten three shutouts in a row. Well Cowboy fans I do not like to be the bearer of bad news, but it won't be three in a row. Yes the Dallas Cowboys kept the Eagles off the scoreboard last week, but don't look for that to happen this week.

I look for Philadelphia to get on the scoreboard this week. Even if they have to use some trick plays they will not get shutout and look as bad as they did last week. You can count on that. The key for the Cowboys is not to give up big plays. Make Donovan McNabb and the Eagles march down the field by giving them nothing big When the Eagles get big plays they are very hard to beat. So Cowboy fans a shutout would be nice, but not this weekend.
