Behind the scenes on Bionda Castana's A/W 2013 Fashion Film- Starring David Gandy.

I was recently flown to New York to head up the Make up department for British Shoe Brand, Bionda Castana's Autumn 2013 short film, directed by David Schwimmer and starring the incredibly handsome male model, David Gandy.

Lucky girl, I know, but as well as making sure David Gandy smouldered in front of the camera, my team and I also had to ensure the female cast looked incredibly sexy with either sultry smokey eyes or a statement dark Pout.

Smokey Eyes.....

For the smokey eyes I used Liz Earle Signature Eye Colour in Smoke and Bronze, layering and blending the colours till all lines were softly diffused and finished with lashings of mascara and jet black Kohl pencil around the eyes and in the water line.

Smokey eyes were teamed with a flesh pink nude lip, I used Liz Earle Signature Lip Colour in Blossom and Laura Mercier Lipstick in Arabesque.

Statement Pout.....

Eyes were played down with a soft wash of colour and an socket contour using Liz Earle Signature Eye Colour in Taupe. Lips were filled with my all time favourite Red, Ruby Woo, by MAC, by pressing the colour in with our fingertips so it looked more worn and 'lived in' rather than freshly applied.

The Morning After the Night Before...

For the morning after scene I had to make it look as if the girls had slept in their make up so I put a tiny blob of Vaseline on a cotton bud and gently smudged up the look, this is a great trick to use if you think your smokey eye is too dark or too perfect.

He's So Dandy....

I'm glad to say that David Gandy is as God like in real life as he is in photographs, and he did not need much pampering to make him look camera ready. All I did was massage his skin with my secret blend of facial oils and make his skin look flawless (which to be honest, it already was!) then applied some skin finishing in the form of a mattifying primer (great for men) which keeps skin smooth and shine free under the hot camera lights.

Challenges....

The most challenging part of the day (apart from the jet lag which made an appearance at about 12pm) was to keep removing the deep lipstick marks from David's face caused by the models kissing him- I'm sure they didn't have to kiss him as much as they did!
