Everyone, including you, has a tendency to procrastinate. So what exactly is procrastination? Simply put, it is when you put off something that can be done now because of laziness or carelessness. Procrastination is putting off things for another day, when it is just as easy to do them today. Many people have a tendency to put off things and then end up doing them at the very last minute or not doing them at all.

Procrastination is extremely common in students who need to complete a research project, complete a term paper or even study for an upcoming test. This is generally when the term "cram" comes into play. In order to get a good grade on the test, the student must "cram" for the exam in a short period of time, versus studying and planning for the test all along.

So why Procrastinate?

Almost everyone, at one time or another in their life, deals with procrastination. For some people, they make it a way of life or a bad habit. For others, they may only allow procrastination to affect certain areas of their life, but not their daily events. The internet is expanding so fast that many offline companies are starting their own websites to bring in more and more customers. The internet has also given many of your average people, who have low paying and unwanted jobs, the opportunity to make money online from the comfort of their homes.
The opportunities that are online are endless for anyone to make it big. So if you are an offline company or just an individual who wants to make money on the internet with some sort of a home based web business, then you can.
Here are my personal 5 picks why the internet is so wonderful for a anyone to go online and make money. By the way, there are so many people who are making excellent incomes at home online with their own home based businesses:
1. Having the Freedom
A lot of people, who currently have jobs, would love to stay at home and be their own boss. Imagine if you were to wake up anytime that you feel like it and do just about anything that you want. You can take off at anytime of the day that you choose. You can take a vacation when ever you feel like taking one. You are your own boss.
2. Having everything on auto-pilot
I have mentioned at the beginning of this article that many people are making excellent income from home online. What many are doing, who have been around the internet for a while, is that they have their web based business on auto-pilot. They are getting search engine traffic. They get Pay Per Click traffic. They have hundreds and even thousands of email opt in subscribers, and they don't have to be online for so many hours like the people who are just starting out and need to work a little harder.
These people come online, check their last day sales stats, check their favorite online work at home forums, and when they are done, they turn their computer off. They get the rest of the day off. They don't need to be online all the time. They have everything run for them on autopilot.
3. Enjoying what you are doing
When you have your own online home business, you get to do what ever you want, right? The nice thing about a business is that when ever you are doing some work, it does not really feel like work because when you enjoy doing something, you don't consider it as work. You may think that it is just something that you need to get done but make it fun at the same time.
4. Not doing the same thing day after day
When you have a job, your boss requires you to do things in your department in the way that they want you to do it. Imagine if you get to do the same task everyday for the next few years. Wouldn't that be boring? I am sure that it would be. With a business online, you can constantly change what you are doing everyday and give yourself different fun tasks all the time.
Here is an example:
At your day job, you need to be there at 7AM and get off at 4PM. Monday to Friday.
At your business, one day you may feel like waking up at 9AM and finishing your work at 1PM. Another day, you feel like sleeping in and waking up at 11AM. Then you go and have breakfast a 11:10AM. At 12PM you decide to get on your computer and start to do what you need to keep your business rolling and bringing you money.
5. Faster advertising
Think about this: if you had an offline business and you needed to send out 10000 fliers to your current customers about a new program that you want to offer to them. Can you imagine how long it would take you to print those fliers out, put a stamp on them, and then send them out? It would take you a long time.
With the internet, what you see many people and businesses do is that they have their own email subscribers who gave them their personal permission to send out promotions through email. What a person would do is type in the message. Then they would make sure that the grammar, spelling, and links are working, and then they would send the email out to the 10000 subscribers. That is a big advantage when it comes to marketing your products online.
With the internet, you get to have more freedom whether you are a small business consisting of one person or a business that has 20-50 employees. The internet has given us everything that we need to make more money. The internet.....it is a beautiful thing.

Toby called from Perth, Australia the other day to ask me, how do I attract network marketing leads for my business?

The Importance of RSS in Internet Marketing

What is RSS? RSS or Really Simple Syndication is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines or podcasts. An RSS document, which is called a "feed," "web feed," or "channel," contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with their favorite web sites in an automated manner that's easier than checking them manually. Thus instead of people going to your website, the website content goes to them. RSS is a method of broadcasting your content to whomever signs up to get it.

To explain this more clearly, let me give you an example. If someone is interested in Mediterranean cooking, they can go to a Mediterranean cooking blog and sign up to subscribe to receive RSS feeds. Whenever there is a new post on that blog, those new articles will be sent to the subscriber's computer. So rather than going to this blog site to see if there are any new posts, all the subscriber has to do is open his RSS reader or RSS-enabled blowser and see all the new posts.

Each time you would post a new article or a product review, your list of RSS subscribers would automatically find this on this computers. You could develop marketing plans targeting your RSS subscribers. If you post a review of an affiliate product with your affiliate link, it would automatically be delivered directly to your subscribers' computers. Thus RSS can be a powerful internet marketing tool.

So how do you incorporate RSS in your website? If you have a blog site, an RSS feeder is usually integrated in the software and you just have to activate it. Otherwise you can sign up for an RSS feeder. Some of these are Feedburner, My Yahoo, Google Reader and FeedForAll.

The internet is constantly evolving and its growth has helped many people, including the internet entrepreneur. RSS is one of the newest ways to facilitate marketing for online businesses. You now have the opportunity to use it.

Is This Four Letter Word Hurting Your Business?

What's stopping you from doing the things you know you want to do in your business? Not enough time and a lack of focus can be obstacles to taking action. But take a closer look and see if these are the real issues.

Is it possible that you really do know what you need to do but that fear is stopping you?

Fear is a four letter word but it doesn't have to mean something bad. Here is an acronym for fear from an unknown author which sheds new light on the word, "Fear: False Evidence Appearing Real."

You can choose to see fear as a sign. A sign to take a closer look at the actions you are taking (or not taking) and to decide to make some changes.

Fear can sometimes cause inaction. When it's too scary, you may decide to do nothing. So how can you move past the fear and get into action?

Before you can tackle your fears you first have to identify them. The more specific you can be the better. Pay attention to your thoughts and notice if you are thinking about fearful outcomes.

Here are some possible fears you may be experiencing.

FEAR OF MAKING THE WRONG DECISION

Does the phrase, 'What if?' keep popping into your head when you think about taking an action? Well, go ahead and ask yourself. What is the worst thing that could happen? Usually it isn't that bad. And remember, no matter what happens you can probably deal with it.

FEAR OF FAILURE

Everyone defines failure in their own way. Personally, I don't think in terms of failure. There are just different and new choices. If you do something and it doesn't work out the way you planned, you can simply choose a different path.

FEAR OF REJECTION

No one likes to be rejected. But what if it weren't possible to be rejected? What if you shifted your perception and instead of thinking in terms of being 'accepted' or 'rejected' you thought in terms of finding the right fit. It's natural that not everyone will be a fit with your business. Stay focused on reaching the people who are.

FEAR OF SUCCESS

Yes, this seems strange but is often true. You may actually be afraid of succeeding. One reason for this can be your thoughts about what other people will think about you. Something like, 'Who does she think she is.' Another reason can be that you believe that if you do really well, it's bound to take a turn for the worse and you will be back where you were. No matter what the reason, you can choose to believe that you deserve to be successful and you can remain so.

Growing yourself and your business means that you must continually stretch yourself. And stretching can feel uncomfortable or scary sometimes. It can also be refreshing and exciting! When is the last time you felt super charged by an action you took? Maybe it's time for a massive injection of fearless action.

Don't wait another minute. Take time to discover if fear is keeping you from taking action in your business. Then get clear about an action you can take that will move your business forward and do it! Remain attentive and be aware of when fear appears and gets in your way. The next time it shows up, you'll know how to tackle it!
