The Heritage Sites Of Glan, Sarangani Province

Glan, Sarangani Province is not just best for it's white sand beaches. It is also home of Colonial Houses built way back in 19th century.

The Byaheng Mindanao Team visited the Province of Glan, Sarangani last September 12-13, 2014. I have been to this province several times but last weekend I discovered new tourist destinations.

We were assisted by Ms. Lodar Dagoy-Escobillo Tourism Officer of Glan, Sarangani for the 2 days tour. Our first stop was at Glan Elementary School where Century Old Acacia Trees can be found.

Next stop was at Sta.Catalina De Alexandria Parish which was built in 1949.

We also visited Alegado Colonial House which was also built in 1949. Some Articrafts found inside was even older than their house.

Check out this resort that will open to the public very soon. Hacienda Don Juan located in Barangay Lagu, Glan, Sarangani Province. I was fascinated by the design of the resort because of it's Antique wooden furnitures.

This was the first day of Byaheng Mindanaw Tour at Glan, Sarangani Province. Second day of our adventure will be posted soon.

"VOLUNTOURISM" PROGRAM OF HELP CATEEL

HELP CATEEL VOLUNTEERS WITH VOLUNTOURISM PARTICIPANTS

Who wants to be a tourist and a volunteer at the same time? HELP CATEEL launches its new program called " VOLUNTOURISM" last April 27, 2013. It aims to invite tourists to witness the natural wonders of Cateel, Davao Oriental. At the same time the tourists will volunteer in tree planting activities to help restore the damages caused by Typhoon Pablo last year.

It was 1:00am when the group left Davao City. We arrived in Cateel Poblacion at 7:00am. Breakfast was served at Oriental Food Court owned by the Emboscado Family. Our itinerary for the day was to have a tree planting activity at Mantunao Ecopark. Another tourist destination we visited was the Mahan-ob Waterfalls.

During the night Help Cateel officers and volunteers launches formally "VOLUNTOURISM" which was held at the Park. The program started at 8:00pm. Film showing, parlor games for the kids and video clips for the recent activities were shown at the program. Lights off at 11:30pm.

On our second day, after breakfast the group headed to the majectic "ALIWAGWAG FALLS". The water is cold and so refreshing. Late in the afternoon we left Cateel, Davao Oriental and went back to Davao City.

Who would dare to sail via fishing boat to Balut Island with huge waves and strong winds blowing? It was my second time to but still I was so excited since I am going with my Best Travel Buddies and Family.

On board via Fishing Boat from Glan, Sarangani we sailed for about four and a half hours before reaching the bay of Sarangani, Davao del Sur. We had a sumptuous lunch at the residence of Sir Rolando Paalisbo before we proceed with our proper tour.

After an overnight stay in Balut Island our group went back to Glan, Sarangani to have another overnight stay in a resort. Saturday morning when we arrived back in Davao City.

The original plan was to climb Mt. Apo via PNOC trail but a few hours before our scheduled trip our group was informed that it was not possible to pursue the climb due to security reasons. Since everything was already prepared from food and transportation we decided to chose another tourist destination and everyone agreed to go to BRITANNIA GROUP OF ISLANDS AND HINATUAN ISLANDS.

Britannia Island is located in San Agustin, Surigao del Sur which is composed 24 beautiful islands and islets. Our group left Davao City at 2:00am. We arrived at the visitors Area in San Agustin at 7:00am, had a short briefing and register our names before the boat took us at BOSLON ISLAND to stay overnight. We had the whole day to relax and swim. During the night we had our parlor games with prizes.

The next day after breakfast we made our tour to some of the islands of Britannia. Before lunch we headed to Hinatuan, Davao del Sur. We had sumptous seafoods lunch before we took another boat. This time its a bigger boat that will take us to Maomawan Island and Tipdos Island.

Maomawan Island is a small island with only three coconut trees. It is not advisable to stay overnight here. While Tipdos Island is a big island with lots of trees. It was so fun swimming with the big waves in Tipdos Island.

Twenty Six Islands and Islets in all for two days was a great adventure experience for us. We may never climb the highest summit in the Philippines that time but we surely did have a lot of great time.

To those who plan to stay overnight in Britannia Island make sure to bring tents, food and drinks. There are no sari-sari stores or fast foods in the islands.

Climbing Mt. Matutum

When climbing Mt. Matutum all trekkers are required to plant seedlings at the foot of the mountain. This program was made by the local tourism Office of Tupi called "AMYAK MALEH MATUTUM" means climb and plant in Mt. Matutum.

It was my friend Tina who planned the climb in celebration of her birthday. We left Davao Overland Transport Terminal at 4:00am. Arrival in General Santos was 7:00am. Our packed lunch was bought at a nearby fast food at General Santos City Terminal before we took another bus bound for Tupi, South Cotabato. RegistrAtion fee and Porters were already arranged by our friend and also our guide for this climb Sir Maulvi Bajunaid.

Phase 1 trail is an easy trail. The average hike is about 3-4 hours. Flora and Fauna can be seen along the trail. We stopped to have our lunch before reaching Phase 2. Phase 2 the trail was a difficult trail with an average hike for about 3-4 hours until we reached the summit .It was 4:00pm when all of us arrived at the summit. The summit was surrounded with trees. The next morning the whole surrounding was filled with fog. We weren't able to witness the sunrise. We met some fellow mountaineers at the summit. It was fun talking and taking photo's with them. At 9:00am our group descend back and arrived at 3:00pm at the jump off point.

Getting There:

From Davao City Overland Terminal take a bus to Tupi (php 280.00 estimated fare one way). Just inform the driver to drop you off Barangay Kablon. Single motorcycles will take you to TOURISM GUARDHOUSE, in Sitio Glandang, Brgy. Kablon (Php150.00 pero motorcycle one way). Make sure to have an early registration prior the climb to avoid inconvenience. Registation fee is Php150.00 per person. Porter fee is Php 250.00-300.00 per day. Matigol Falls in Arakan, North Cotabato

Bani Waterfalls

The first time I went to Matigol Falls also known as Bani Falls was with my fellow mountaineers a few years ago. It was also a day hike but the trail we chose was a little difficult since we follow the trail from the uppermost part of the waterfalls going down to the foot of the waterfalls.

This year Louie, Leo, Keir, Madayaw and I had our day trip to Matigol Falls. We arrived in Arakan Valley at 8:00am. Hired motorcycles took as at the jump off point. From the basketball court our trek begins and after 30 minutes we reached Sitio Inamong, Barangay Datu Ladayon where we secure our guides and pay our registration fee.

Our first destination was to set foot at the top most part of Matigol Falls. We relaxed for a while and took some photos before we climbed back, took another trail to reach the foot of Matigol Falls. Be sure to bring an umbrella with you because the weather is really hot on daytime since you will trek mostly on grasslands. An hour and a half hour of trek took us to see another beautiful gift of nature.

Getting there:

From Ecoland Terminal took a "Rural Transit" bus bound for Cagayan via Budha. Just inform the driver to drop you at Arakan, North Cotabato. The fare ranges from Php 80-100 non aircon bus.You may chosse to walk from the national highway or ride in a motorcyle all the way to Sitio Inamong, Barangay Datu Ladayon court at Php 50.00 -Php80.00 per person. Registration Fee is Php25.00.

Exploring Combilan Cave and Awao Falls

Monkayo, Compostela Valley was my best friend's hometown. Since college I've been visiting their place to explore waterfalls and caves. One of the best tourist destinations found in Monkayo is COMBILAN CAVE, in Brgy. Casoon and AWAO FALLS in Brgy. Awao, Monkayo, Compostela Valley which can be explored in a day.

"Skylab"

From Davao City Overland Terminal, take a bus or van bound for Monkayo, Compostela Valley. Upon arrival at the terminal "skylabs", a single motorcyle with extended wooden seats that can accommodate up to 14 persons are available to take you to Brgy. Casoon. It is advisable to coordinate with the tourism office of Monkayo or the Barangay Officials before planning to go to Combilan Cave and Awao Falls.

This was the hardest part of the trail but actually we were lost at that time

Combilan Cave has many chambers inside so be sure to secure a guide before entering the cave to avoid from getting lost. There was also another cave that has a flowing water inside and when you reached the exit way there was a small stream that you would want to dip in the cold water.

Awao Falls is located in Brgy. Awao. You may hire a single motorcycle from Monkayo Terminal up to the jump off point but since we traveled in group we requested from the tourism office to use their dump truck. There was no signage from the jump off point so be sure to hire a local guide. The trek going down to the waterfalls is only thirty minutes.

The Natural Wonders of Oslob

OSLOB is a two and a half hour bus ride from South Bus Terminal in Cebu City. Located in Southern Part of Cebu which offers one of the best tourist destinations.

Experience the encounter with the Whale Sharks or "TUKI" in Oslob. Guests have 2 options either Whale watching or Snorkeling at the rate of Php300.00 and Php500.00. Waterproof Camera is also available for rent. Make sure to proceed directly at the Registration and Briefing Area to avoid unnecessary entrance fee's. After whale watching, a side trip to Sumilon Island would be very nice by renting a boat at php2,500 but the rate is negotiable.

The Mystical Siquijor Island on a Day Tour

Siquijor Island is the smallest province in the Philippines composed of six towns Siquijor, San Juan, Lazi, Maria, Enrique Villanueva and Larena.

It was my third time visiting the mystical island of Siquijor but this time its different because I'll be able to tour around the whole island in a day. Palawan Adventure Trip

The trip was for my daughter's birthday and the first time just the two of us traveling together. Thanks to Cebu Pacific Air for having a direct flight from Davao to Puerto Princesa (v.v.).

It was drizzling when we arrived in Puerto Princesa City. From the Airport, we proceeded directly to "PUERTO PRINCESA UNDERGROUND RIVER" booking office to register for the next day tour. But it was already fully booked. Guests were limited due to bad weather. Glad to meet Miss Jean of JD Travel who helped us arranged our booking for the day tour in Puerto Princesa underground River but it was scheduled two days after.

We checked in at Princesa Inn. Later that afternoon we went to the Cathedral, Plaza Cuartel, Baywalk, strolled along Rizal Street and had our dinner at Jollibee.

On our second day, we had our Do-it-yourself City tour. The places we visited were Binuatan Creations , Butterfly Sanctuary, Bakers Hill, Mitra Ranch, Palawan Wildlife and Rescue Center, Palawan Museum and Capitol of Palawan. Before we went back to Princesa Inn, returned to Baywalk. My daughter enjoyed riding the bicycle for rent at Php25.00 per hour. We tried eating street foods at the Baywalk. We also had our sumptuous dinner in KaLui Restaurant, known to be the most famous restaurant in Puerto Princesa.

Our last day was spent on a day tour in Puerto Princesa Underground River. A van fetched us as early as 6:00a.m. since all of the guests had our flights in the afternoon. We arrived in Port of Sabang at 8:00a.m. Everything was arranged by our guide from boat transfers to and from Puerto Princesa Underground River. The tour inside took around 40 minutes. We cannot take good photos inside since they only use one lamp in every boat. Before we return to the airport, we had our buffet lunch in a nearby resort in Sabang.

Road Trip to Lake Sebu and Seven Waterfalls

Since my friend Tina had her own motorcyle we both decided on taking a road trip to Lake Sebu and the seven waterfalls in a day. It was 4:00am when she picked me up at my home. We took the route from Davao City, passed through Digos City then Makilala, North Cotabato.

Our first stop was at Sultan Kudarat Provincial Capitol. We couldn't find an ideal place for breakfast along the way so we decided to eat our late breakfast at Jollibee Tacurong.

The road trip continued as we passed through Isulan, Sto. Niño, Surallah and finally to Lake Sebu. Resorts and cottages are available if you want to stay overnight in Lake Sebu.

Our last stop for the day was to visit only two out of the seven waterfalls in Lake Sebu namely Hikong Alu (FAlls 1) and Hikong Bente (Falls 2) the highest waterfalls in Lake Sebu.We were amazed as we saw the beauty of the two majestic waterfalls.

On our way back, we took a different route. We passed through Polomok, General Santos City, Digos City and finally after 24 hours of traveling with a motorcyle we arrived Davao City at 4:00am the next day. Why? because on our way back home the pump boy in a gasoline station in General Santos City filled the gas tank with deisel so we had an engine trouble near Malungon, Sarangani but the motorcycle was repaired and we got home safely.

A Quick Trip to Dumaguete, Siquijor and Cebu

It was an unplanned trip but since I've been to this places before my friend/travel buddy Pen (www.doctorontravel.com) invited me to have quick trip in Dumaguete City, Siquijor and Cebu. It was like an amazing race trip.

It was 6:00am when we arrived in Dumaguete City. Hurriedly, we went to the Port of Dumaguete to check the schedule for Siquijor. The original plan was to tour around Siquijor in the morning but since it was Saturday, there was no early morning trip so Pen and I decided had our breakfast and visit the waterfalls of Dumaguete City. In Valencia, we arranged a motorcyle that will take us to Casaroro Falls and Pulang Bato Falls at the rate of Php500.00.

We were back at the Port of Dumaguete at 10:20am but the last trip that was scheduled in the morning that will go to Siquijor was also 10:20am. Luckily, we catched the trip but we had to run. I remember the woman said " naa pa ang barko, dalagan ra mo" (the boat it still there but you have to run). I was amazed seeing dolphins in the ocean. The Port of Siquijor was stunning with wide white sand shoreline. There was a fast food near the port. We took our lunch and again, hire a single motorcycle for another half day tour at php500.00. Another option is to rent a motorcyle but it is better to have a driver since they are familiar with tourist destinations. The places we visited were the Old Enchanted Balete Tree, St. Isidore Church and Convent, Cambugahay Falls and St. Francis de Assisi Church And Bell Tower. Before heading back to Dumaguete City, we had the chance to buy t-shirts at a small souvenir shop near the Port.

The sun starts to set when we arrived in Port of Dumaguete . Many vendors were selling Kikiam at the Boulevard. We bought some for our late snack while relaxing at the Boulevard and had our dinner at a restaurant nearby. Before we end the night, we had a dip at Huiz Pool Swimpark in Balugo and strolled around Dumaguete City.

The next day, we leave Dumaguete City via Sibulan at 4:00am but before heading back we visited Kawasan Falls in the province of Badian, had our breakfast and after taking photos we went back to Mactan Airport.

The Ruins in Talisay City, Negros Occidental

It was my second time to visit "The Ruins" in Talisay City, Negros Occidental. But during my second visit I've learned so many things about it's history since there was a Tour Guide.

The Tour Guide

The Mansion was built in 1900 in the center of an "Azucarera", owned by Don Mariano Lacson for his first wife Maria Braga but when her first wife died Don Mariano Lacson remarried and leave the Mansion to his ten siblings. The were ten rooms on the second floor. During world war II they hired a Japanese garderner. When they knew that it was an informant for the Japanese Military the Guerellas decided to burned down the Mansion to avoid the Japanese Militaries from occupying the Mansion. It was abandoned for many years but now it is one the most visited tourist spots in Negros Occidental.

Mt. Kanlaon: The Highest Summit in Visayas

Mountain climbing is my passion. I've been to the highest summits of Luzon and Mindanao before so this time I decided to climb the Highest summit in Visayas with an elevation of 2,435masl located in Negros Occidental.

Mt. Kanlaon is one of the most active volcano in the Philippines. Prior the climb, a permit together with the filled up registration forms and waivers duly notarized must be secured from the DENR-MKNP superintendent. Registration Fee is Php300.00 per person. You may choose from these trails: WASAY to GUINTUBDAN, a 3 -day climb, GUINTUBDAN trail entry and exit, a 2-day climb.

Day 0: We took an evening flight from Davao to Cebu and a bus ride from south bus terminal to Dumaguete City. After we bought our food and everything we needed for the climb, we left Dumaguete City and took the Ceres Bus bound for Bacolod via Mabinay, . It was the first time that I traveled on a daytime and I was amazed by the spectacular views of the Province of Negros Oriental and Negros Occidental.

After five hours of travel we stopped at the Junction and took another bus to La Carlota City. It was already dark when we arrived in Barangay Ara-al, La Carlota. We met our Guide and rented a house for us to stay for the night. We were all excited to climb the next day.

Day 1: It was very cold when we woke up but I still decided to take a bath in a freezing cold water. After preparing our breakfast and packed lunch we started the trek at 6:30am. The trek took us around six hours before we reached the campsite. We were 30 minutes away from the summit but the guide didn't allow us from going to the summit because the clouds were covering the peak. We decided to trek the summit the next morning.

Day 2: Wake up call was 5:00am but the whole place was still covered with fog. We have no choice but wait until the fogs will disappear because the guide told us that it was dangerous if we can't see the trail clearly. While waiting we had our breakfast and prepared our packed lunch. We waited until 9:00am but the weather is still the same. We had no choice but to go back.

Although we haven't made it to the summit but the climb is still worth it. Thanks to my travel buddies Kristina Corpuz and Mario Lopez for the great company.

Food trip at "Santander, Kainan ng Bayan, Inato lang, Ihaw-ihaw"

Before we headed back we had our last stop at "SANTANDER, Kainan ng Bayan, Inato Lang, Ihaw-Ihaw" owned by Barangay Captain of Tugbok Mr. Angelico Santander. They served different dishes of Hito (Catfish) and native chicken at a reasonable price. All you have to do is buy live Catfish per kilo and have it cooked. You may choose from their variety of dishes like Deep Fried Hito, Adobong Hito, Sinigang na Hito, Ginataan na Hito, Grilled Hito, and Paksiw na Hito.

DAVAO LIFE IS HERE: Sul Orchids and Malagos Garden Resort

Last July 14, 2012 Davao Bloggers in cooperation with Davao City Tourism Office held a day tour entitled "DAVAO LIFE IS HERE DAVAO BLOGGERS DAY TOUR". After we visited the japanese historical sites our next stopover was at "SUL ORCHIDS" a five hectares orchid farm located in Tugbok, Davao City. To those who loves orchid it is a place you must visit here in Davao City. They have many varieties of orchids like Vanda Strap, Mokara, Denrobium and many more.

Lunch was served at "MALAGOS GARDEN RESORT" located in Brgy. Malagos, Baguio District, Davao City. After a sumptuous buffet lunch the resort gave us the opportunity to tour around the resort. We made a visit at the Goat House, Fed the birds, released some butterflies and made an ocular inspection to their cottages.

DAVAO LIFE IS HERE: THE JAPANESE HISTORICAL SITES OF DAVAO CITY

Last weekend members of The Davao Bloggers in cooperation with Davao City Tourism Office held a day tour entitled "DAVAO LIFE IS HERE DAVAO BLOGGERS DAY TOUR". "D'Japanese Tunnel Hotel and Family Resort" located in Matina, Balusong Diversion Road. The tunnel was built in 1942 by the Japanese with the length of 8.9 kms. but today it can be accessed up to 150 meters. Inside the tunnel were life size replicas of Golden Buddha and Japanese Soldiers.

Next stop for that day was in Mintal known as "THE LITTLE TOKYO OF DAVAO CITY" were we met up with the Barangay Captain Raymond Bargamento. It was my first time hearing the history of Mintal and I was amazed by the history itself.

We visited Mintal Historical Markers in Mintal Elementary School where the "OHTA KYOZABURO" memorial site which was made in honor of Ohta Kyozaburo a Japanese entrepreneur who was one who invested in Davao City. Old remains of ruins of Japanese school structures and the ruins of Japanese Pyramide can also be found. We also made a visit to Japanese Cemetery, Irrigation Canal, and Old Japanese houses.

HUNDRED ISLANDS AND MT. PINATUBO

When it comes to Luzon Trip, I am always incharge in buying tickets, making itineraries and arranging accommodations for the group. This time, its a 2 days tour to Hundred Islands and Mt. Pinatubo.

When we arrived in Manila our hired two (2) aircon van were already waiting for us at the airport. Together with my 19 outdoor buddies from Manila and Davao, we departed NAIA 3 at 1:30am and arrived in Alaminos, Pangasinan at 6:00am.

Our first stop was a day tour in Hundred Islands in Barangay Lucap, Alaminos, Pangasinan which is composed of 124 islands at low tide and 123 islands at high tide but only three islands were developed namely Governor Island, Quezon Island, and Children's Island. Everything went well except that after lunch our tour operator called us asking if we will pursue our trip to Mt. Pinatubo for the next day since it was closed for the day due to heavy rain and no assurance if we could get the chance to climb the next day.

After our tour in Hundred Islands, we had our lunch in Dagupan City and had our meeting for any back up plans for the next day activity but we can't make a final decision since we have different decisions. It was a headache for me. Our dinner and overnight stay was sponsored by NIA Office in Tarlac. We are so thankful for their warm accommodation. Our group decided to have a tour on the next day in Tarlac.

But, thanks to my friends Tina, Cheryl, Marj and Tupe for pursuing to Capas, Tarlac the next morning and when the weather was nice they give the climbers a go signal to trek Mt. Pinatubo. We were so happy since it was our main target why we were in Manila. The 4x4 vehicle ride took us around an hour via skyway and the trek is thirty to forly minutes depending on your pacing. The trail was easy even kids are allowed. In the end, everything turned out right and we were back to Manila with satisfaction in our faces.

The Weekend Trip to Cebu and Bohol

Our original plan was to have a day tour in Cebu City but since Airphil Express cancelled their early morning flights we grabbed the opportunity to rebooked our flight and changed it to a 2 days 3 nights vacation without any charges. Together with my daughter and some friends, we took the 7:00pm flight bound for Cebu, Mactan Airport. We spend our first night at CSC Office Dormitory.

Wake up call was 3:00am the following day since we had to catch the 5:45am in trip in Pier 1 to Tubigon, Bohol. The fare is Php200.00 one way for tourist class and pPhp280.00 for business class. We had our breakfast in a fastfood near the Port of Tubigon and afterwards we bought some extra food and water.

Our first stop was in Sagbayan Peak a 30-minute ride via Bus. If you're traveling with children, Sagbayan Peak is must visit with lots of cartoon characters statue and a playground. Before leaving Sagbayan Peak, we arranged a motorcycle that will tour us around Bohol at the rate of Php600.00 good for two persons. We visited Chocolate Hills in Carmen, Manmade Forest in Bilar, Tarsiers in Loboc and Sagbayan, Man Made Forrest, Hanging Bridge, Loboc River, Albuquerque Church, Loboc Church and Museum, Loboc Church Bell Tower, Baclayon Church, Blood Compact Shrine, St. Joseph Cathedral in Tagbilaran City and Our Lady of the Assumption in Dauis. It was already 5:00pm when we arrived at my grandmothers house where we spend the night.

The next day, we traveled back to Cebu via Tubigon. From the Port of Cebu our first stop was Fort San Pedro located outside the Port. In the afternoon, we visited Taoist Temple, Magellans Cross and Basilica de Sto. Nino, Cebu Cathedral. We were lucky to have a free accommodation from our friends residence Mr. and Mrs. Jhay-R and Bernadine Gonzaga of Cebu City. We stayed for the night and leave Cebu the next morning.

Overnight in Asia's Latin City : ZAMBOANGA CITY

Zamboanga City is located in southern Mindanao. It is also known as "Asia's Latin City".

Our scheduled flight via Airphil express was in the afternoon. We proceed to the city proper to look for the inn were we made our reservation. Sad to say the reservation officer didn't confirm our booking so we looked for another hotel where we could stay for the night. We decided to stay in Sky Park Hotel since we founnd it comfortable and safe. After leaving our things in our room, we went to Alavar Seafoods House for a luscious dinner.

After dinner we strolled along PASEO Del MAR. Policemen and security guards was everywhere. We felt it was safe to go out during the night. At around 10:00pm we head back to the hotel.

REVISITING MT. PULAG (Ambangeg Trail)

It was not my first time to climb Mt. Pulag but I was still excited since it was my first out of town organized major climb in cooperation with Jr Gonzaga of Cebu City and 43 participants from Manila, Cebu and Davao City. Our scheduled flight was 9:35pm bound for Manila via Airphil express. There was 23 of us boarding the same flight. When we arrived at Terminal 3 we took a taxi which will take us at Victory Liner, Pasay Branch. Our bus tickets was booked in advance by my friend Michael Caliat for us to choose the exact time we wanted to leave Manila.

At 6:30am we arrived in Baguio City. The hired jeepneys already waited for us that will take us to Ambangeg, Kabayan, Benguet. Our first stop from Baguio City was in Pinkan Jo Eatery where we took our breakfast. At 10:30am we arrived in DENR information office for the registration and briefing of participants. Another 1 hour bumpy ride from Ambangeg to Babadak Ranger Station. Compared to last time I went in Mt. Pulag, there were improvements in the road. Porters and guides were arranged upon our arrival in Babadak Ranger Station.

It was 2:00pm when our group start the trek. Ambangeg trail is also known as executive trail since it is the easiest trail going to the summit at 7.5kms from Ranger Station. The trek took us 3 hours to arrived at Camp 2. During the night. we had our socials at the camp but some of the participants chose to sleep early since the weather is cold.

Wake up call was supposed to be 3:00am but since it was foggy so we decided to start our trek at 5:30am going to summit. Although the weather is not so good because of low pressure but we still enjoy our trek to summit. I could see the fogs were blown away by the wind. It was one of a kind experienced. When we arrived at the summit it was zero visibility but we still did not loose hope. When the the fog disappeared for a short period we hurriedly took photos.

We decamped at 10:00am from Camp 2 back to Ranger Station. Before we head back to Baguio City some of participants took a bath at Ma'am Gina's place. Our lunch was also served by Ma'am Gina. The "Pinikpikang Manok" and "Chopsuey" with "Brown Rice" took our tiredness away. It was 5:00pm when we arrived at Baguio City. Our bus scheduled trip is 6:30pm via Victory Liner and 4:25am we daparted from Terminal 3 back to Davao City.

DTAA Outreach Program in Marilog District

The Davao Travel Agencies Association (DTAA) joined forces to donate bags and school supplies to Matigsalog tribe children in Marilog District.

It was 8:00am when members of the DTAA headed by the President Mrs. Pia Lourdes Montano went to Nograles Gym in Marilog District to distribute bags, school supplies and shoes to students from pre-school to elementary of different barangays in Marilog District. Parents of the students were very thankful for the said activity since it could be a great help for their children in their studies.

After the event the group went to "LANGUB GLASS PALACE" also located in Marilog District where a boodle fight lunch was served. We stayed for a while and took some pictures before headed back to Davao City.
