Samsung knows that they have some work to do in order to catch Apple’s enormous mobile buzz and they are doing just that. Days after the most anticipated mobile phone ever – the iPhone 5 – was released, Samsung came out swinging with an attack ad (video below), and now there are reports that they are readying another iPhone killer – the Samsung Galaxy s4. While there no definitive reports of the Samsung Galaxy S4 release date, it is rumored to be released in February. Even though the Galaxy S4 release will not be in times for the holidays, it will give Samsung a big boost in 2013. We have included everything that we know about the GS 4 below, including specs, photos and Samsung Galaxy s4 release date. Check it out!

Samsung has yet to confirm any of the reports on GS 4 specs, but here is what we know. The Samsung Galaxy s4 release date is expected in February of 2013. It’s expected that the Galaxy S4 will sport a quad-core processor and depending on the country, will feature Samsung’s Exynos processor or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon. The OLED screen will be larger than that of its predecessor, the S3 (4.8 inches), and the iPhone 5’s (4 inches) – most likely 5 minches. It will also sport 4G LTE connectivity and an Android OS. All of these rumored specs look to build upon the already impressive Galaxy S3 which boasts a 4.8 inch 720p HD display, 4G LTE connectivity, Android’s 4.0 OS, and a reasonable contracted price of $199. We have included some of the mock ups of what the Samsung Galaxy S4 might look like.

As mentioned above, the heavyweight battle in the smartphone arena between Apple and Samsung took a big turn last month when Apple won a $1 billion lawsuit against Samsung for patent infringement. Subsequently, Apple’s stock jumped immediately to record highs. The iPhone 5 release marked more record numbers for the California-based tech giant with over 2 million pre-order sales in the first 24 hours, more than double those of the iPhone 4S. Samsung is looking bolster its swagger with the S4 and believe it or not, could seriously compete. Since the release of the S3 three months ago, Samsung has sold over 20 million units and expects to top 30 million by the end of the year.

Samsung has also started to attack Apple with their latest Galaxy S3 commercials. Check out this Samsung Galaxy S3 commercial and tell me things aren’t heating up between the two smartphone makers.
