What a crazy last week!

2012-06-18T09:11:00.000-07:00

As you all know I have been getting involved in bitcoins. After a good month or so of good business and trading....my MtGox account got hacked!
Someone logged into my account, used the money I had in there, bought bitcoins with them, and transferred them to their own account. All this happened while I was raging my face off at the electric daisy carnival in las Vegas. What a headache.

I'll post pictures of it all sometime this week!

Another Advertising service

2012-05-01T19:58:00.000-07:00

Just like the other website I talked about yesterday, here is another system that is working to become like AdSense.
Advertise with Anonymous Ads

What I do like about Anonymous Ads oppose to the other site, is that they give you the option on what kind of ads you would like to allow! perfect if you have other ad services on your site that block certain type of material.

Both of these are very interesting for those of you who would like to generate some extra revenue and get paid via BitCoin. Check it out with the link above!

After browsing for ways to make money with bit coin, its interesting to see whats out there. I will post some more but for now here is a cool one that is like adsense.

Its called bitcoinadvertisers. Although it is no where close to the scale of adsense it does look like it has the potential to grow. If you pay attention there is a new small add-on to my page, let me know if it works and i shall let you know if it works!

I will be focusing more on bit coins since it is my new found interest. If you havnt heard of bitcoins I recommend you check it out. Its very interesting http://bitcoin.org/ .
The forums are a great way to get started, everyone in there seems to be very friendly and helpful.

One of the most interesting things that I have come to find out is that bit coins are stronger than any governmental currency. Even after it has had a few hiccups with their market declining from 1BTC=$24 all the way down to $3USD it is steadily back on the climb.

Facebook faces Privacy Issues

2011-12-05T11:35:00.001-08:00

Facebook’s growth as an internet social networking has met criticism on many issues including online privacy. There have been several issues with censorship, both on and off the site.

Mark Zukerberg admitted himself that on privacy issues his social networking website had made “bunch of mistakes”. Facebook has overcome it’s misstep in the past to emerge as a world largest social networking site and one of the internet’s most influential companies.

Facebook had faced charges like it had shared users’ personal information with the third party without their consent.

Facebook believes that it happened for small limited instance.

Mr. Mark has written in his post that Facebook had already addressed Federal trade commission’s (FTC) concerns when the agreement was announced by FTC.

FTC has recommended improvements to review and formalize the privacy issue. The co owner of Facebook said that the website will establish biannual independent audit to ensure their commitments they have made.

The company had created two new corporate privacy officers to over look Facebook products and privacy policy and company has added new privacy features as well.

Facebook will have to face the fine of US$ 1600 per day in case of any violation as mentioned by the FTC chairman.

Top 5 MMORPGs for iOS

2011-12-02T00:36:00.001-08:00

First off let me tell you how excited i am that my wonderful girlfriend got me a iPhone 4s for christmas early! Since i got this bitchn new phone i decided i wanted to play some mmorpgs, and after looking heres a great list i found:

1. Pocket Legends (3d MMO)

Price: Free with in-app purchases to unlock areas and items

Developer: Spacetime Studios, LLC

As you start the game you will be asked to choose one of three classes. Each class has its own advantages and disadvantages. The game itself consists of venturing through many dungeons and other areas in the process of completing hundreds of quests. In addition to completing quests, you can compete in player vs. player tournaments. The virtual world is composed of many towns, and within each town is a portal. These portals lead you to the dungeons and forests where most of the gameplay occurs. Overall, the map is fairly large. Each player can advance at certain skills and friend one another. Another feature that makes this MMORPG different from others is the incorporation of playing in groups, or “parties”. In fact, it is almost impossible to complete levels and quests without playing in groups! All in all, Pocket Legends is an impressive MMORPG for all iOS devices that has highly respectable graphics, MANY hours of gameplay, and many original features.

2.Yslandia MMORPG

Price: Free

Developer: Bulkypix

First off, I think it worth mentioning that this game used to be $4.99, I believe that that says a lot about the quality of this game and the effort that went into it. Also, you Game Center users will be glad to hear that Yslandia supports… uh… Game Center. In addition, the game:

incorporates an overwhelming amount of quests
is 2d
allows for the creation of more than one character
has multiple player classes
supports guilds (clans)
has a fairly developed skill level system

The only negative qualities of Yslandia that I have noticed are come of the graphics, a sometime slow gameplay, and the incredibly small amount of online players at any given time.

Overall, it’s a pretty cool game and, since it’s free, what have you got to lose from trying it?

3. Order & Chaos Online

Price: $6.99 + monthly subscription of $.99 for a month, $1.99 for three months, or $2.99 for six months

Developer: Gameloft

Order & Chaos Online is basically a fairly well made World of Warcraft clone. It has great controls, beautiful 3D graphics, and enough hardcore gameplay to keep you occupied for many, MANY hours. That’s all there really is to say.

4. The World of Magic

Price: Freemium (pay to unlock areas and items)

Developer: Com2uS Inc.

Like Yslandia, The World of Magic has impressive 2D graphics. When you start playing, you are given the option of three classes: archer, warrior, and mage. Each of these classes sports an large skill level system, and unique abilities. Gameplay largely involves PVP fights, exploring a massive world, and wandering through endless dungeons while fighting monsters. Other fun features include guilds and parties.

5. Anrufen Online

Price: Free with in-app purchases to unlock areas

Developer: WISTONE ENTERTAINMENT CO LTD

Similar to Order & Chaos Online, Anrufen isn’t for casual players. It requires dedication to get anywhere. As for graphics, all objects are presented as 2D sprites and most textures are high quality. You play the game from an isometric point of view. When you begin playing, you can become a wizard or a warrior. Gameplay consists of fighting many monsters alongside other players, or going all-out PVP.

Some other games that didn’t quite make it on the list:

GraalOnline Classic
Outer Empires
SevenSwords (This one is pretty darn good!)

Siri Plugins: Send message Via Google Voice, Wake up Computer, Open and Control apps on a Mac

2011-11-29T21:34:00.001-08:00

Siri can control your Car and even your TV.What else do you want? Recently, a developer has posted a video on YouTube showing three new plug-ins for Siri. Using these plug-ins you can send text message via google Voice, Wake up your computer from sleep and even open any application on your computer from Siri. The most amazing thing is how you can launch apps and control them on your Mac using Siri.

The first plugin shows how one can send SMS using Google Voice. The second one is utterly different, it shows who you can wake up your computer by simply ordering Siri. The third Plug-in is the one i like the most, because by using this Plugin you can launch any app on your Mac. You can even control those apps. Like in the iTunes, Play, Stop, Pause, Next, Volume up and Volume and many other options.

Everything is possible by the help of developer, who created a Siri proxy , opening many ways for other developers as well. If you were a developer what would you like to do Siri for you?

Switching To The iPhone 4S After Selling Your Old iPhone

2011-11-28T17:30:00.001-08:00

So the new iPhone 4S is in the markets now and you are so looking forward to have one for yourself. In this thrill, you have done all the possible research on the carrier selection, storage size that you need but of course that can be done only when you get your old handset disposed of properly.

Neither you are not looking forward to keep your previous iPhone (or whatever smartphone owner you are) with you as an extra set, as an iPod touch or thinking of just giving it away to some relative then you must get to some way of selling it at some reasonable price and let the cash roll in. so here are a few things that can be done before you are all set out to make the transaction by using numerous wonderful services.

Ensuring that old iPhone bags a better deal

In order to get to the best possible price for your old iPhone, make sure you follow the following steps:

1.Jailbreak the device: Unlock your iPhone after Jailbreaking it. This certainly gives its price a higher push. This enables the device to run on the additional apps via Cydia or enables it to get another carrier’s services like T-Mobile in the US or any of the international GSM carrier.

2.Apparent condition: It is very much obvious that a device looking as good as new is going to bring in more money. Keeping your iPhone as brand new and in good shape will always work as a plus point. For example, a fine conditioned iPhone 3CS will get you almost $230 whereas a 3GS in excellent condition will make you earn as high as $300. When it comes to iPhone 4 and 3GS, I myself have witnessed a great deal of price dependence on its condition. Try to give it a good cleaning before selling it off.

3.Delete all your data it contains: Make sure that before you hand it over to someone else in return of a lump sum amount, you have run a thorough clean-up of your device. Here is a quick How-to-post to help you out with the process.

Declaring your iPhone is for sale
Done with all the basic homework, now is the time to decide which service would be the best to choose before we move any further. A lot of online services are available to assist you in this sale. Just giving you the details of only a few popular names:

1.eBay

eBay is very simple to use to make the transaction however there are few things that need to be taken care of. The most important of all is that the eBay charges fee on every item auctioned there. So here are a few tips to get to the highest bid:

i) If you are using PayPal as mode of payment, only ship the item to the buyer’s confirmed address with PayPal.

ii)If you are using Buy It Now, then try to get to a much competitive price.

iii)Always try to use the pictures close to reality portraying true description and quality. Always be blunt if your iPhone has any defect and point it out on the display picture.

iv)Mention your item description while using the fastest shipping service.

v)In order to get more buyers interested, always use keywords in your title and item description.

vi)Get your item insured in case there is some mis-happening during the delivery through the shipment.

vii)Be careful of low feedback buyers.

2.Craigslist
Craigslist works locally, so if you are opting for it then you must be exchanging your item with someone face –to-face from the same area. Try to keep the following rules in mind:

i)Never advertise your personal home address.

ii)Put your personal phone number if you are comfortable with it , but email is always another option.

iii)Make the transaction during daytime in some public place.

iv)Craigslist is notorious for email scams, be very careful of it.

Craigslist has some stories related for being not so good source as people get robbed while doing the transaction so you need to be very careful.

3.Gazelle
Gazelle has a service that can turn the electronic device into cash. You only have to send your iPhone and it will send you the amount after authenticating the description of your item. The first step is to inform Gazelle that what are you selling and the item is in what condition staying very honest and rate it from poor, fair, good or excellent. It prevents from any possible misconceptions. It is always good if you still have the original documents of your item, its box and cables with you. After checking for any damages, the service puts forward a price. You can get paid $215 for an average conditioned 6GB iPhone 4 and $250 for a perfect-conditioned iPhone 4. The whole process is completed in a week. It is hassle free service and payment can be made using PayPal or you can also put up other items on sale while you are still at it.

4.SellYourMac.com
Its service is similar to Gazelle’s and it lets you transact the item and the payment with least hassle. Hence buying your old Mac or iOS device, the only thing you need to do is to provide pictures along with a serial number next to your item description and condition. On receiving the item, SellYourMac.com cleans it, verify it to be free of defects and then further sell it off on eBay. Again payment mode can be PayPal where SellYourMac.com also promises to get you the highest bid possible. So choose the service carefully!

5.Recycle Program by Apple Inc.
Apple Inc. has come up with a new iPod and Mobile Phone Recycling Program so in case you are not willing to go for any of the above mentioned services for selling your smartphone, Apple will grant you with a reasonable amount in exchange. For a perfect-conditioned 32GB white iPhone 4, it will pay $200 in the form of an Apple Gift Card which can be further used to buy iPhone 4S. In such a case, iPhone 4S is bought at no charge (with a 2-year contract, of course). For a black model, you can get up to $180. However it gives the $105 gift card for iPhone 3GS.it also offers to give a new 8GB model of the same iPhone in exchange of a signup for a 2-year contract.

6.Personal transactions
Despite all these services available, it’s your call to go for them or you can still use the old way of selling it, i.e., person to person transaction with some acquaintance of your own.

Only make sure that you make use of the tips given above and always remember that accessories like Square can even let you take credit cards right on your own device now, if cash isn’t as convenient.

Bonus tip: If you have any cables or adapters of the item being transacted, always include it in the package, as the whole parcel is going to get you higher price rather than selling them individually.

Using any of the service whether eBay, Craigslist or any other, for selling your old iPhone, we hope this artcle will help you guide in the right direction. Do let us know if you have any questions or additional suggestions in the comments box below!

Clickjack attacks plaguing Facebook

2011-11-15T12:40:00.001-08:00

A rash of clickjacks has led to the spread of violent and pornographic images across Facebook in the last day, causing outrage among users and raising concerns that it is part of an attack by a faction of the hacker group Anonymous.

The attack demonstrates the vulnerability of the service to social engineering attacks that take advantage of Facebook's application framework. It uses a link disguised as a seemingly innocuous news story as bait—made more prominent thanks to the recent changes Facebook made in how it displays users' timelines. Once the bait is clicked, it uses the victim's news feed to spread the offensive images to followers, and further propagate the clickjack bait.

Some of the images spread by the attack, including images of Justin Beiber edited into sexual situations and photos of animal cruelty, are characteristic of the ____ site's "b" discussion board where the ______ group was born, Sophos senior technology consultant Graham Cluely reported in the Naked Security blog. Previously, messages purportedly from _______ had threatened to take down Facebook on Guy Fawkes Day, November 5, in protest over Facebook's weak privacy protections—an attack that failed to materialize on that date. The attack does come, however, on the heels of Facebook reaching an agreement with the Federal Trade Commission to alter its policies to make all future changes to privacy settings "opt in."

No one purporting to be associated with ______ has taken credit for the clickjack so far, but it is driving users away from the service.

More Than 60% Of All Mobile Web Traffic Comes From iPhone, iPad And iPod Touch

2011-11-02T11:39:00.000-07:00

There seems to be no limits for the success Apple has achieved since the launch of its iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. All around the world people are literally crazy for these products so much so that more than 60% of all mobile web traffic comes from iOS devices around the world.

According to mobile web traffic summary released by Net Applications, the iOS platform accounts for 61.64% of all mobile web traffic from all parts of the world. Even in September, iOS platform was the leader among all other competitors, bringing in a total of 54.65% of all mobile web traffic.

A big contributing factor to this achievement is the successful launch of iPhone 4S. The Apple iPhone 4S is the most successful iPhone launch to date with over one million units being ordered in the first day alone. The first release weekend saw a pre-order of more than four million units of iPhone 4S in seven countries.

With iPhone 4S being available in a total of 34 countries by end of November, it is expected that this share will increase further in the coming months. Way to go Apple!

Anyone else think its absolutely crazy how many credit card options we have? Isn't this credit thing what got us all in trouble in the first place. I know for sure its what happened here in San Diego with everyone defaulting on their houses and getting foreclosed on...people living WAY outside their means. I know it ruined a lot of peoples credit, but mine stayed in the high 700s thank God.

Just thought I would drop that before my political science class right now, have a good one
