I can see this break 15 miles away from my living room window up on the hill. When there's a hint of whitewater I know there's surf. I was handling stuff around the house all day Sunday and kept a keen eye out the window, and it paid off. Surfed from 3 til about just before dark then grabbed the camera. Was bigger earlier as the swell was tapering off, but still some fun ones to vid.

Swell didn't really produce today, but from the look of the buoys this afternoon the 2nd pulse may have just shown up late. Maybe tomorrow we'll still have some goods.

South Season Opener for Maui

I've been watching this come together for a couple weeks now. The direction looks good for alot of Maui's south side. There's some west in the south initially then turns direct south as the swells progress.. This opens up some more fickle spots and I'm going to be checking daily. Things are looking really good for photos and surf sessions, stoked!

Came across a deal I couldn't pass up on a Rock Hopper and have been putting in seat time recently. The Makawao forest reserve is 10 minutes from my front door, and a great place to ride. 3 miles uphill and 3 back down on this loop with nary a soul around. This is going to be a great surf alternative when the summer flatness sets in.

Tried out the new addition to the Daily Bread quiver at Honolua last weekend. Good friend gave me one of his old boogies, those things go pretty good. It had some reverse rocker so it was a learning curve on not pearling.

Traded off then to my new 8'0" for some trim cheaters, made the best out of a small day at the bay.
