With AHA, I don't have to pay monthly.

Here is the pictures of the modem and initial speedtest.net result.

The first time I enjoying 2+ Mbps connection, but later on that day I only got 1.1Mbps. AHA EVDO will not catch a bar downstair, I did the test at my working room upstair. What I don't understand is why it have OpenDNS as a default, or is it just me.

Attaching files to gmail is way faster with up to 160 KB/s upload rate, but most of the time between 120-135 KB/s. Affordable, fast, no hassle setting up your modem, of course when you have firewall you'll have notifications about its auto run programs, and Comodo will detect new network each time the modem connected to the net. An unusual first move from a new internet provider I can say, because Bakrie Connectivity prioritize area outside Jakarta first. Check it out AHA Super Deal. Oh and one more thing, Skyfire stops connection from Indonesia, will have to wait for a carrier deal, when I try to launch it, it said "not enough memory...bla3x..".

Today when I reboot my s603rd device, I have changed the welcome screen to text mode, I can't remember what is in there when I customize it few years back (about 2 years ago), the text is "Days I Want". Yes the blogs name, daysiwant.
I was begin to blogging in hopes I can get money from blogs and ads and something alike. Back to 2 years ago when I start blogging, it was like mad days, finding topics, rewrite them and linking them back to original source, refreshing gadget sites every 30 minutes with feed reader always open on my desktop, but then there are times when I loose all my interest in this "gadget watch", they are never cease to slow down! new inventions, new connectivity methods, new network, new telecommunication carrier, gprs and 3g rate changes, I am overwhelmed to write them all. That is, off course made easy with just focusing on my favourite gadget manufacturer, like viliv, yes Viliv s5 is still my favourite gadget of all time, until Viliv s10 surfacing. Now, back to the word when my device booting, "Days I Want", a two years journey of this blog, not much I can earn from this blog, I think I just don't have enough guts entering the writing world, but today, I feel I have accomplished from what this blog title intended, I want to work from home, I just can't feel comfortable with most of the working office situations, and the aircon, oh surely that thing will bring pain to my nose, made my nose dried. Finally I have managed to get a reputation in online freelance sites, and now I can earn almost a steady amount of $s from them. Six month with a role like a night creature, I keep finding jobs on the online freelance sites, and now i have landed a long term for a graphic design support for a US based company, and they paid me on monthly basis, the best thing is I can work during the normal business hour, in other word, I can work during the day and get proper sleep at night, and there are still some other clients with hourly jobs for me. I give thanks to Dear God, my family, friends and clients and especially my wife, who never cease to support me on my online earning journey. Days that I Want. Be Well.

Go

Seems I can't use Yahoo! Go after 12 January, a really useful and not too big software for s603rd, runs fine with my nokia 5700 which is s603rd fp1, now no way I can check my yahoo email without typing password like in the Yahoo! Go, I'll have to pay Yahoo to use Thunderbird as a client. Yahoo Mail Plus. $19.99 / year, I'll stick with Gmail, free pop3 and imap4 no ads. I have been tested Nokia Messaging maybe one year ago I can't remember exactly, but it was a long time ago from the Nokia BetaLabs, still free, just a week ago I have an urgent need to check my email continuously all day, when I looked at the features it made me wow, it support up to ten email address and have push capability, I think this is must have email app for S60, but later after installing it, I've got a message from my provider (Telkomsel) that this is a trial service, after a month i have to subscribe to this service and pay Rp. 45.000,00 (that is almost US$5) I don't know if I still have to pay yahoo for this, and the conclusion i'll stick again with gmail client for s603rd, it support multiple account too, clean interface, fast start up, and FREE. For other email account that support imap I just use Nokia standard app Messaging, this one goes with my Ovi account well.

First try, I didn't change any settings under Wacom Tablet preferences and I found the in game cursor for selecting menu move wildly all over the screen, with just a slight movement and it jumps, second try, I managed to set the pen grip to mouse like this

it is now usable, but it is hard to aim, and I have no scroll button :) for selecting team member, it can be selected with numbers though, but a standard workflow is everything when it came to war :D , and this "intuos4 workflow" is not mine, since I have to move my finger to press the number, loose the wasd movement control for under a second and can not selecting team member while walking or running, firing also need more attention. The conclusion is, tablet is not a suitable pointing device for fps gaming, a mouse will serve its purpose very well, have been eyeing Logitech for its ergonomic design, with a hefty price about US$100 and many people who own it tell that it have been significantly ease their arm pain and some even cured in just two weeks of use. I think I just have to leave the game for now, in fact I didn't play any games since 4 months ago, you know busy busy and busy, working and keep building my portfolio. Btw here is the mouse, Logitech MX Revolution, but I can not find one with that name on their website under mice section, it only list Performance Mouse, the most similar in appearance.

Updated about 5 days ago, before this update I can not click on the forum title at forum.wacom.eu under Wacom en Tablets section, the titles are not clickable, now with the update, it is clickable. But one thing that annoys me the most is, I can not write message into the "message box" in Facebook inbox, "to:" and "subject:" field are fine, I've tried to copy and paste the written text from notepad and it just didn't work. This bug is already listed on their bug reporting site. I love the speed and sleek UI from Chrome, Flock is like eating my screen real estate, not much though, but still love the Chrome clean look, well I hope Chrome will have a social version, I mean like Flock already did, but with more improved user interface, sliding notifications, and when you use Chrome try to press Ctrl+Shift+j, it will bring you developer tools window,

and it can be docked in the bottom area of the page, a more convenience way to keep a stream of live feeds from your social networks, at lest for me, people differ in preferences of course, but it is easier, at least for me again, to look up and down rather than left and right like in Flock. Well that's it from me today, I still have a job to finish, and by the way, I loose that big job, but another good news is, one of my client is supplying more job to me on hourly based rate, a 6 hours per week job, I hope this will last long. Have a good day, or have a good sleep if you haven't sleep last night, and those who just start the day remember to give Chrome a chance, I am promoting nothing here, I just think that user experience aspect is become more important as more people are spent their hours in front of a browser, and yes the small numbers of extensions inside Chrome is not a replacement for heavy Firefox user with bunch of add-ons to increase the functionality of the browser, and because I am not that geek to put many add-ons inside Firefox, simple and to the point, I love it.

The last day I am using a mouse, desperately I change it to left handed mode due to unbearable pain around my wrist up to my shoulder and the job must go on, fortunately the day after my wacom Intuos4 medium came in front of my door along with the valuable software Photoshop Elements 7, Corel Sketchpad and Autodesk Sketchbook Express, mouse is not included in my region. A lot of fun using it, painting and selection is enjoyable with Photoshop, if I win the next job, a big big job maybe I will buy a Cintiq series to support my work flow and a Viliv S5, and I think that's enough, man never can get enough :) Viliv has another series coming along, dig it up friends :). S10 I guess, or I miss the trend, is it already shelved on the stores? by the way here is the unboxing, Wacom Intuos4 Medium and fyi I can not feel the difference 2048 level of pressure sensitivity, I never use a tablet before, once actually, but it was way a long long time ago, and from what I can remember it made my hand stressed, now I learn to relax when using intuos4, and dragging the nibs on its surface pad is like a real pencil, the felt nibs get "eaten" faster than usual still, and amazing device to let loose your creativity. I need to find more information about hardware support, because the last time I install it in my aspire one, I can't tap my touchpad to perform a click, yes I have to click the noisy button there. Much thing had happened to my aspire one, it is 160GB HDD now, I've removed the slow 8GB ssd, now installing win7 7100RC (resizing my partition with gparted from UNR 9.04, long long time...21 minutes remaining it is now copying 81GB of 101GB). Many portable devices emerged since my last post, including acer aspire one series, but Viliv and TGLluon Mobbit are still my favourite, but Nvidia teased my gaming desire with it's ion platform, since I can not play GRAW (my favourite game all time) on my aspire one, I don't know if GRAW can be played with ion, aspire revo for example, well let's find out. 11 minutes remaining. I spent most of my days learning modo 301 and fyi 401 is out already, downloading apples trailers, youtube videos, and doing some 3d visualization projects, with my son accompanying me most of the time, he's going to school this year, I guess this month, and maybe I will be taking him to school everyday, his mother is a real busy right now managing the printshop. 3 minutes remaining, and see you next time.

Fast browser. But here is what I have found on Opera website “Opera unveils turbo-charged browsing at Mobile World Congress 2009”, may be this is the answer to Skyfire. I often use Skyfire for browsing YouTube channels, because the default OSS Browser and Opera Mini won’t play the streamed videos. So, what makes opera mini super fast, it is because its server-side optimization, it compress and process the data before being sent to a mobile phone, and maybe Skyfire use this technique too in a different way. Now what Opera Turbo can offer? it offers full support for dynamic Web technologies such as Ajax and Flash which is unavailable in Opera Mini. Like Opera Mobile, I think this is not for free, the 9.5 Beta version available for free download only for Windows Mobile and UIQ (both touchscreen-based devices only) with many known issues. And you can read statistical data from Cellular wireless shipment, Global smartphones handset volumes and a diagram for better understanding how Opera Turbo works from the white paper.

Technorati Tags: browser,mobile browser

Since I have changed my Aspire One into XP, sometimes I miss that fast boot up time and since the recovery DVD which included in the sales package can not restore my Linpus Lite, I always seek for fast boot up distros, gOS and Xubuntu 8.10 is my favourite but I prefer Xubuntu 8.10. Now, Aspire One user will need 900kB Installer, 900MB image file and maybe a 2GB thumb drive to boot if you don’t have an external optical disk attached.

Via: Engadget

Youtube Video: Acer Aspire One running HP MIE

Technorati Tags: Acer Aspire One,netbook,OS

Desperately I changed the network to 3G for about 3 times flip-flopping between GSM and UMTS and did the manual scanning, now there is only a three bar signal strength with 3G network, many scanning since last week and the signal strenght indicator won't even show up if the sky is cloudy. Three bar and the icon is stripped (at hold), that means no connection can be made, and then I tried Axis, pretty fast with its EDGE network 35-44 kiB/s, the speed must be 35 X 8 = 280kbps or 44 X 8 = 352kbps, fast enough for my everyday use, although I have to hang the phone to a higher position to get a better reception adding 2 more bar. Still and windy night here I sit and starring to my 8" lcd and feels...unplugged. I’ll try another post tonight if the connection gets better.

In 1998 a pc with 400MHz AMD cpu was enough for me to do some flash and 3ds max 3.1 animations , now my Nokia 5700 have the same MHz as stated in the spec. 400Mhz Arm, but it runs only at 192MHz, when idle maybe. Toshiba TG01 is the world's first phone with GHz processing power with SnapDragon cpu an ARM architecture platform developed by Qualcomm. Do we really need that processing power with our phone? If I have one Toshiba TG01, surely I will looking for a mobile or lite version of 3ds max or google sketchup :), is there any :)? one day maybe.

Pictures, Video

Via: Akihabara, Engadget.

Technorati Tags: Devices,SnapDragon,Toshiba,Windows Mobile 6.1,phone

Currently Cloud is available pre-installed in specific hardware, Gigabyte M912 is one example which was announced at the Netbook World Summit in Paris, France, December 2008. I still don’t have information about the rest, but If you want to be added to the waiting list to grab the private beta, you can send an email with your name and netbook model.

“Cloud is a web browser plus operating system, enabling the browser to perform everything that the desktop is able to perform. Since Cloud just boots into a web browser, it's perfect for Netbooks, Mobile Internet Devices, and PCs for pure Internet use.” –www.Thinkgos.com-

Cloud will require constant availability of internet connection, because it is intended for pure internet use, thus we have to prepare for an unlimited data plan or free WiFi access. Cloud will be a good choice for Shaksats laptop, but it is confirmed later that it is a apparently not a laptop, Hit via link for gOS Cloud hands on video.

Via: itsme, Engadget

Technorati Tags: OS,gOS,Cloud OS,Linux

I found nothing with Firefox for S60, but I did find Fennec.
