Working of the Traffic light Controller in the above diagram of the traffic light controller a 7 segment display is used as a counter display,and three led are used for the purpose of traffic light control.

An 8051 Micro controller is the brain of this whole project and is used to initiate the traffic signal at the intersections on road. This Circuit diagram make use of a crystal oscillator for generating frequency clock pulses. The led are interface to the port zero of the micro controller and are powered with 5 v power supply. Display is connect to the 2 pin to the 8051 Micro controller with a common anode Configuration.

The led get automatically switch on and off by making the corresponding port pins of the micro controller high, based on the 8051 micro controller and it programming does by using keil software. At a particular period of time only the green light hold on and the other light remains off and after sometimes the changeover traffic light control from green to red take place by making the succeeding Change for glowing of yellow led.This process continue as a cycle and the timing for Changing the led can be display with the use of a 7 led display in the project.

This traffic light control system can be further enhanced in such a way to control the traffic signal automatically based on the traffic density on road with the help of sensor modules with automatically turn off there no vehicles on either side of road which leads to power Consumption.

3 Simple Electronic Circuits

Simple electronic circuits discussed below are very helpful for the beginners while doing practice, designing of these circuits helps to deal with complex circuits.

1. Rain Alarm

The following rain circuit is used to give an alert when it’s going to rain. This circuit is used in homes to guard their washed clothes and other things that are vulnerable to rain when they stay in the home most of the time for their work. The required components to build this circuit are probes. 10 K and 330 K Resistors, BC 548 and BC 558 Transistors, 3 V battery, 01 mf capacitor and speaker. Whenever the rainwater comes in contact with the probe in the above circuit, then the current flows through the circuit to enable the Q1 (NPN) transistor and also Q1 transistor makes Q2 transistor (PNP) to become active. Thus the Q2 transistor conducts and then the flow of current through the speaker generates a buzzer sound. Until the probe is in touch with the water, this procedure replicates again and again. The oscillation circuit built in the above circuit that changes the frequency of the tone, and thus tone can be changed.

2. LED Flasher Circuit

The circuit configuration of LED flasher is shown below. The following circuit is built with one of the most popular components like the 555 timer and integrated circuits. This circuit will blink the led ON & OFF at regular Intervals. From left to right in the circuit, the capacitor and the two transistors set the time and it takes to switch the LED ON or OFF. By changing the time it takes to charge the capacitor to activate the Timer. The IC 555 timer is used to determine the time of the LED stays ON & OFF. It includes a difficult circuit inside, but since it is enclosed in the integrated Circuit. The two capacitors are located at the right side of the timer and these are required for the timer to work properly. The last part is the LED and the resistor. The resistor is used to restrict the current on the LED. So, it won’t damage.

3.Invisible Burglar Alarm

The circuit of the invisible burglar alarm is built with a photo transistor and an IR LED. When there is no obstacle in the path of infrared rays, an alarm will not generate buzzer sound. When somebody crosses the Infrared beam, then an alarm generated buzzer sound. If the photo transistor and the infrared LED are enclosed in black tubes and connected perfectly, the circuit range is 1 meter. When the infrared beam falls on the L14F1 photo transistor, it performs to keep the BC557 (PNP) out of conduction and the buzzer will not generate the sound in this condition. When the infrared beam breaks, then the photo transistor turns OFF, permitting the PNP transistor to perform and the buzzer sounds. Fix the photo transistor and infrared LED on the reverse sides with correct position to make the buzzer silent. Adjust the variable resistor to set the biasing of the PNP Transistor. Here other kinds of photo transistors can also be used instead of LI4F1, but L14F1 is more sensitive.

Read in your user’s manual or look up a tutorial on how to clean your air conditioner and you should see an improvement.

Some air conditioning units have a drip hole on the back of the drip pan. If your unit does have holes, ensure that they are properly cleaned so that water can exit the pan. However, if your drip pan doesn’t have holes, consider drilling some in. When drilling, make sure that you take care not to run into the coils, which are often very close by. Drill at an angle to avoid this problem.

Unplug the window air conditioner, and ensure it is stable. Have an assistant help you during your work; she can steady the air conditioner and help remove it from the window if it becomes necessary.

Check the window unit to determine if it's level or slanted toward the ground outside. To aid proper drainage, the rear of the unit should drop about an inch lower than the front. "Eyeball" the air conditioner, working from outside; if it's slanted enough, it should appear obvious. If it's difficult to tell, lay a carpenter's level across the top.

Drop the rear of the unit lower than the front to increase the unit's angle and encourage good drainage. Even newer units that don't drain continuously generally have an overflow drain in case the water level gets too high. To lower the unit's rear, consider the installation method. If the unit sits unsupported in the window, it's generally a matter of pulling it slightly forward to allow the rear to drop. Braces of various kinds may need to be cut and reattached or otherwise lowered to allow the rear to drop.

Find the drain hole or plug designed to expel excess water. On constantly draining units (usually older or very large units) the hole is generally underneath the exterior portion of the unit and may be very small. Window air conditioners designed to retain water may have a hole on the side instead, so when the water reaches a given level it drains away. Alternatively, you may find a cap underneath the unit that allows you to pour off water before recapping.

Unplug the drain hole if you see or suspect it's clogged at or near the entrance. Poke a long, thin wire or even a baby bottle nipple cleaner through the hole, and work it back and forth like you're brushing your teeth. Often this is enough to encourage the water to drain.

Pull the unit from the window, remove the outer casing if necessary and set the unit on a clean surface. Lay a thick cloth over the switches and fan motor, and tilt the air conditioner slightly to encourage water to flow away from these electrical parts. Spray the unit, using a low-pressure stream, directing the flow from the inside of the coils out to remove excess dirt and debris.

Remove the base pan, into which the condensation drains, to clean the pan or the internal drain system. Unscrew or pull to unclip the base pan (sometimes called a drip tray) from the bottom of the unit. Scrub with a rag and water from the hose. Alternatively, replace the tray with a new one; if it's rusted or extremely damaged, it may be preventing proper drainage.

Look for small tubes -- typically two -- running from the front pan, under the evaporator, to the rear where it releases condensation into the base pan. Run a small brush or wire through these hoses with a swabbing, scrubbing motion to work free any clogs.

Enlarge or add another weep hole in the base pan only if one already exists or the product literature indicates it is appropriate. With the pan removed, use a drill and small bit to bore a hole toward the outermost edge of the pan or enlarge an existing hole.

Reassemble the air conditioner, attaching the base pan first and following with the casing as appropriate. Reinstall in the window, allowing the proper tilt, and secure. Avoid running the air for a day or two to ensure everything is dry.

This is another combination that can work on sink clogs. Mix about a cup of baking soda with a half-cup of salt, and pour down the drain. Let the mixture sit for several hours, then flush with boiling water. You can repeat this process if it doesn’t work the first time.

Short for “light emitting diodes”, LEDs are becoming the most likely successor to the lighting world throne. Where incandescent bulbs fell short in terms of lifelong hours, offering an average of 1,000 hours of light, LEDs have overtaken them with an amazing 50,000 hours.

Don’t be scared off by the term semiconductor, though! While it may sound a bit technical, a semiconductor is basically any material that partially conducts electricity, meaning there are positive and negative charges along the material. And when electricity is sent through such a material, certain areas switch back and forth between a positive and negative charge. This jumping back and forth between charges is what creates the light you see in LEDs.

The longevity of LEDs is due in part to its unique characteristic of being a type of solid-state lighting. In other words, while incandescent bulbs rely on the light produced by heating a filament and fluorescent lights excite the molecules of gas in order to illuminate, LEDs create light by passing an electrical current through a semiconductor.

The entire process is much more energy efficient than heating a filament like traditional incandescent bulbs. In fact, most incandescents only use 10% of the required energy for light. The other 90% is given off in the form of heat. So a bulb that can cut back on any amount of this kind of loss, like an LED does, is going to have a longer life in general.

Now that you know just what an LED is doing when it is producing light, we can get down to what makes a filament LED so different from your average LED. With the design of traditional incandescent bulbs in mind, filament LEDs have a pretty neat retro look about them. Instead of a container made only partially of glass like other LEDs, the enclosures of filament LEDs are made entirely of glass, just like old-fashioned Incandescents. Inside, very small LEDs are placed along a glass or sapphire cylinder, the appearance of which mimics a filament.

The main difference between filament LEDs and regular LEDs is in the placement and number of individual LEDs in each bulb. While regular LEDs might use one large LED or a group of LEDs packed tightly into a small space, filament LEDs spread the diodes along several different lines or “filaments”. this arrangement also means smaller heat sinks (mechanisms to take heat away from the diodes) are needed.

Generally, Filament LEDs have several “filaments” in them as just one would not be enough to produce a usable amount of light. As a result, many bulbs will have over four different strands of LEDs inside, giving the look of an antique Edison-style bulb.

Temperature Control

The thermostat will also cycle the compressor off when the desired temperature has been reached. If the temperature control or thermostat is defective, it may not send power to the compressor, and no cooling will take place. Inspect the sensing bulb for any signs of a sharp bend, kink or rupture and replace the control if any are found. You can also check the continuity of the control with a multi-meter by rotating the dial to the lowest setting. Verify that the sensing bulb is properly located in the air flow through the evaporator coils before condemning the control.

Air Filter

The most common cause of window air conditioners not blowing cold air is a lack of adequate air flow. In a properly working air conditioner, a fan will draw air over the evaporator coils, where it is cooled, and then be re-circulated back into the room. If the air filter is dirty or clogged, there may be little or no air flow over the evaporator coils, which may cause them to become too cold and frost or ice can form on them, restricting the air flow even more. This will result in little or no cool air being circulated into the room. The air filter is normally located behind the front grille which may have a side access opening. Clean or replace the filter as often as required. If the evaporator coils are very dirty then cleaning with soapy water and a soft brush will be required and we also recommend changing the filter.

Capacitor

If your air conditioner doesn’t blow cold air, the problem may be in the compressor circuit. Most window air conditioners use a capacitor to help start the compressor. If the capacitor fails, the compressor won’t start and the fan will only blow warm air. Some window air conditioners utilize a run capacitor in the fan motor circuit as well and will often combine both devices in the same package or can. The compressor and capacitor are located inside the cabinet and access will require removal of the cover. If the capacitor does not show any visible signs of damage you will require a qualified person to check it with special test equipment. Make sure that the replacement capacitor has the same specifications as the original.

Fan and Fan Motor

If your window air conditioner is not blowing cold air, the problem could be the fan or fan motor. In a properly working air conditioner, the fan will draw air over the cold evaporator coils and then re-circulate the air back into the room. If the circulating fan is not running or running too slow, little or no air flow over the evaporator coils will allow them to become too cold and frost or ice can form, restricting the air flow even more. The fan and motor are located inside so removal of the cabinet will be necessary to perform any checks. Make sure that the fan motor will turn easily and that the blades are not damaged. If the motor is seized or if the fan blades are damaged then they will need to be replaced. If the motor turns easily it may still be defective or it may not be getting power from the controls. These tests are more complicated and should be performed by a qualified person who is comfortable with the use of a multi-meter.

Avoid fast charging. Charging your phone quickly stresses the battery. Unless you really need it, avoid using fast charging.

In fact, the slower you charge your battery the better, so if you don’t mind slow charging overnight, go for it. Charging your phone from your computer as well as certain smart plugs can limit the voltage going into your phone, slowing its charge rate. Some external battery packs might slow the speed of charging, but I’m not sure about that.

Avoid draining your phone battery all the way to 0% or charging it all the way to 100%.Older types of rechargeable batteries had ‘battery memory’.
