3 Reasons Why Davao City Is Better Than Anywhere Else

People choose places to visit for a plethora of reasons, and seldom will one find a place that has most of what he looks for. One of these places is a city in the heart of Mindanao Island in the Philippines - Davao.

First is safety and reliability of services. When one hears the word Mindanao, he almost automatically associates it with civil unrest. However, Davao City is a glaring exception. This city boasts of a peace and order situation that is rivalled by very few places in the world. One can walk in the streets in the wee hours of the morning without worrying, something that is very hard to do in the streets of Brooklyn or Rome.

Furthermore, Davao is only place outside the United States and Canada that has a fully-functional 911 system. Emergencies are handled by medical or law-enforcement units with state-of-the-art equipment. Sometimes, the paramedic or the policeman is already at your doorstep even before you end your call. Also, the local government is very strict in implementing city ordinances aimed at curbing abuses and petty crimes.
Second is the cost. Davao City has a very low cost-of-living index. This translates that one can get more value for his dollar or euro than anywhere else. If haven't tried staying at a first-class hotel at less than ninety dollars a night, Davao has the Marco Polo Hotel.

Moreover, people in Davao have an amazing culture of honesty. Very few places in the world have cab drivers who give you change up to the last cent because tipping is not part of the local culture, and a centuries-old belief among them that what one sows is what one reaps.

Lastly, and most importantly, is the natural scenery. Aside from beautiful people (I cannot stress this enough), Davao has rich cultural heritage, white sand beaches, scenic mountains and extensive natural reserves. All of these are more than enough to keep one busy for weeks on end.

If one wants to appreciate beauty in safety and at an insanely cheap price, there is no better place to go than Davao, the heart of Mindanao.

1. Shoulder Season

Shoulder season is the perfect time to be trying to travel for those who want to find a happy medium between low and peak seasons. Identifying where is in shoulder season when you want to travel or when your favorite destination is in shoulder season can save you literally hundreds of dollars.

Take a look at the guide books. Whilst they will not tell you when the shoulder season is, they will tell you when peak and low seasons are. The time in between, is, by definition, the shoulder season.

With almost every resort there is a period where the prices become low, not because the location is now poor but because all of the hotels and flights are still servicing the area but the demand is simply not there. Examples of shoulder seasons are Europe in the fall and the Caribbean during late spring.

2. Winter
Winter is an interesting time of year to travel. Before Christmas, most individuals are trying to make last minute shopping trips. After Christmas, people are dealing with their credit card bills. As such, holidays on far off beaches are often incredibly cheap during the winter period.

A wonderful destination for the winter months is Asia. Flights are losing popularity, however, availability is still good, meaning that there are plenty of discounts on offer. Weather is variable in Asia during the winter which could mean that you are surrounded by snow one minute and then basking in glorious sunshine. This lack of dependability is something that puts a lot of visitors off and can mean that there are some excellent bargains for those prepared to take the risk!

3. Spring

If you are looking to travel to Europe, this is the time to do it! Flights are a lot cheaper during the spring months when temperatures are still relatively low.

Mexican beaches and the Caribbean islands start to see their prices drop from mid April as the weather becomes hotter. However, during the spring months, the water and air temperatures are still pleasant and the resorts less crowded.

During later spring, for example May, the traditionally hot and dry countries are not in their peak seasons but have not yet become intolerably hot. So if you want to visit Morocco, Jordan or Egypt, plan a spring vacation.

4. Summer

Finding a bargain in summer is tricky. Americans, Japanese and Europeans are all on the move and this is also the time of year that most weddings take place, so honeymoon destinations are in a great deal of demand.

During the early part of summer, through June and July, Caribbean destinations are still good to get a deal, provided you try to book before the Europeans start to flood in during their school holidays at the end of July.

Safari holidays are a good option between June and September. High season ends in May, but the weather is still relatively dry.

Flights and hotels are still quite reasonable in Southeast Asia during the summer months, but temperatures can be quite hot, so if you can’t stand the heat, avoid this destination during the summer months.

5. Fall

This is the time to head to Europe. Flights to most major European destinations will be cheaper from October onwards, mainly because the schools are no longer on holiday and families are not traveling as much. Temperatures are normally perfectly pleasant until mid November, so grab yourself a fall bargain in Europe.

(Plane)    Ride from Davao City International Airport to the Jetty takes 10 to 15 minutes.

Another alternative route, specially if wanted to bring your car along, would be to take the barge from Sasa. Davao to Babak, Samal; which is roughly 15 to 20 minutes away from Pearl farm Jetty. The barge's location is at Km. 11, Sasa Davao City, this is just a few meters away from Sasa Public Market. The barge ride would only take 5 minutes but you'll have to travel for another 5 to 10 minutes from Babak To Sonrisa De V. This is the long and winding way of getting there, so i suggest you take the jetty. Dont worry about your car, as the area is very secure and well guarded 24/7.

WHAT'S MORE?

EMARS Wave Pool is Mindanao's first ever Wave Pool and so far, the ONLY one yet in this side of the Philippines. It was opened to the public last July 25, 2010. The wave pool itself covers a total area of 2,000 sqm. Not so big considering that it caters not only DC but the neighbouring cities & provinces as well. This is why going there on weekends is not a very good idea as the place gets really too crowded... we went there just 6 days after its official opening and the place was like crazy... in a good way... considering everybody was still excited.

The facilities are in general, Satisfactory;
Rooms: the rooms are clean, very well kept and affordable. The Condotel (Family)@2,800.00Php room that we booked includes 2 separate rooms, 1 CR/BR, a sala and a kitchen w/ basic utensils, aircon is new and cold also!

Food: the food in the resto was okay, good enough for the typical Davaoeno taste buds. They serve various international and Filipino dishes, including my favourite sugba2x and sinigang - so I’m happy!

Staff: the staff are satisfactory enough for a standard inn/resort, but for a hotel (which it claims), I don’t think they’d pass my standards (lol, echusserang frog!). Besides they were just on their 2nd week of operation when we went there, so maybe that’s why the staff seem to have no clue what to do yet. Wala pang organized system for ordering, billing, information, etc. I also noticed that their FO was not quite familiar with some basic “hotel-rooms terminologies” (tinanong ko kasi kung what days ang hindi sila “High Occ”, ano po ma’am lang sagot nung staff, I should have asked kung kelan sila hindi busy... hehe). But these are petty things which can be corrected with a few trainings... Over all I think they are nice and okay.

Lastly, what excites me is something I overheard that LDL Realty (operator of EMARS, D' Leonor Hotel, Japanese Tunnel & RDL Pharma) is said to be constructing a more impressive wave pool in Brgy. Communal (Buhangin, DC) and plans to operate it in the first quarter of 2011.

So You Think You Want to Scrapbook…

Learning to scrapbook will take some commitment and it is really like a piece of art. When you learn the techniques to scrapbook you will be able to enjoy, however, you will have to get to know a few basic tools, supplies, and learn some skills before you get started. You will want to create albums, but it will take. Projects are difficult, but it can be very rewarding when you end up with something like a family heirloom. It can be enjoyable to do and then the memories that you gather can be passed down to your grandchildren.

To get started, you first need pictures. Everyone has boxes filled with pictures, but you may notice that some are discolored or warped because of the poor storage. The world around us in our homes is full of acid and moisture, which breaks down the chemical balance, used to produce photographs and causes them to change appearance. With scrap booking, you will want to use acid free supplies so that you can preserve the pictures for many years and decades to come.

There are some basics tools that you will need to get before you start your voyage of scrap booking. Every good scrap-booker needs a cutting tool. You will need to get sharp scissors and specialty scissors that will cut scalloped edges, but you may also want something that will cut a straight line and circles. You will also need some form of adhesive. Beginners may find that the easiest products to buy are photo mounts, which are tiny pre-cut pieces of tape, and glue dots, which are pressure-sensitive strong spots of glue to hold larger embellishments. Beyond a cutting tool and adhesive, you really don’t need any other tools to get started, but if you want to create fancier pages, many options are available including rubber stamps, paper crimpers, and punches. Start with a few smaller items and increase your inventory as you learn more and more scrapbooking skills.

You will also need a few basic supplies before you begin, the most important of which is the album itself. Make sure whatever you purchase is large enough to hold all the pictures you want to include; two to five pictures will fit on a standard 8 ½ x 11 page with cropping, with the most balanced layouts having three pictures. You can also choose from larger or smaller albums. Really, the only other supply that you will need to get your scrapbook album started is some paper. Most albums come with a white piece of paper in each sheet protector, but there are many colors and designs to choose from to help spice up your album. Other supplies that add interest to your pages include paper dolls, stickers, die cuts, and three-dimensional elements.

When it comes to the skills that you will need, you can find it to be creativity and you’ll learn how to do things that you see in a magazine or online and mimic it in your art. If you would like to again some skills the fast way, you will want to attend or join a scrapbook workshop or club. As for the workshops, you will be able to attend many workshops when you check out the craft schedule at the local stores. You can also go to a local craft store and ask them how to start the scrapbook and you’ll be able to learn and master the process of scrap booking.

Tangub City - The Christmas Symbols Capital of the Philippines

This 2009 Christmas was the longest Christmas I've ever had! For 5 days, i got to see and enjoy several awesome places that made my "Lakwatsa" really really unforgetable and truly SPECIAL!

Destination: Tangub City

Consistently living up to its reputation as The Christmas Symbols Capital of the Philippines. This year, it showcased over 20 sparkling entries participated by different Baranggays of the municipality. (i was told, it's fewer this year, but heck! it was still spectacular!)

Tangub City is a province in Misamis Occidental. It is just a 30 mins. ride away from Ozamis City.

The province of Misamis Occidental has been my favorite stop lately, b'coz there's just too many fabulous place to see in here. There is MOAP & Dolphin Island (which have been featured here previously) and of course Tangub City which has a number of tourist destinations worth seeing. Of course what i have been really wanting to see is their Christmas Displays that have earned them the title of The Christmas Symbols Capital of the Philippines. This event just happens once-in-a-year, so this time i did not miss the oppurtunity to witness it!

We left Ozamis around 6pm, so we reached Tangub at around 6:30pm. Just in time for all the lights to be lighted...

.... this is just to show my appreciation to this establishment, for the really delicious food they serve. i hope there will be more restos like this to open here in Davao... yung sulit ang ibinabayad mo (kahit minsan mejo mahal :-D) okay lang, basta.... maganda ang place, good ang service at perfect ang food. AWESOME!!!!! (need i say more!?)

Back in college, this is one of our favorite hang-out..
Not much have changed in the place though...interiors are still the same.. and of course,
the food still tastes superb!

(one thing i just didn't like, is the correigdor/path going to the resto....it's gloomy, dirty & scary) i hope management of Picobello would do something about this. i would hesitate about bringing some friends over to dine, merely for this reason.(nakaka-turn off kasi, it might give some bad impression to your guest.. nagmumukhang cheap tuloy ang resto)..

But never-the-less, Picobello is still one of the best Italian Resto &
serving the best tasting pizzas in Davao!

Sardinas ug Odong

This is one of my favorite food (ever!).
Had this for dinner last night...and it was really really one good & satisfying meal that completed my day.

Ingredients are basic,simple & very cheap.
Just;
* 1 can sardines (i prefer the hot style)
* 2 stick packs Odong ( this type of noodle is most popular in the Mindanao and Visayas regions; if you can't find Odong, you can use Misua)
* shallots
* garlic
* cooking oil (just a little to sautee the spices)
* salt (to taste)

Sautee the spices & the sardines all toghether, then add the Odong and a little water, salt to taste, simmer,,,and presto! You'll have one big satisfying meal ever!

Sizzling Bulalo Steak

I don't cook. I just post this for my bAbe to cook for me (hehehe..) This is my favorite!

Ingredients:

1 kg. Bulalo (beef shank, bone in)
1 liters water
1 tbsp. Maggi Savor, Calamansi
¼ cup Maggi Oyster Sauce
¼ cup cooking oil for browning

Gravy:
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. all purpose flour
¼ cup drippings from the fried bulalo
¼ cup evaporated milk

Procedure:

1.In a pressure cooker, tenderize bulalo in 2 liters of water for 30 minutes. Start timing when the water in the steamer starts to boil.

2.Remove tenderized “bulalo” from the broth and marinate with MAGGI Savor, Calamansi for at least 15 minutes. When ready to pan-fry, rub marinated meat with Oyster Sauce on all sides.

3.Heat cooking oil and pan-fry prepared “bulalo” until brown on all sides. Transfer on a hot plate and serve with prepared gravy on top or on the side. Serve immediately.

4.To prepare Gravy: Melt butter and add flour to make a roux. Slowly pour in the drippings while whisking mixture vigorously. Cook until thick. Add CARNATION Evap to achive desire gravy consistency.

Preparation Time: 15 minutes plus 15 minutes to marinate the beef
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Servings: 4-6

CDO WhiteWater Rafting & Macahambus Adventure Park

I have always been a frequent visitor of Cagayan de Oro City as many of my close friends live & work there. And finally on one of my visit, I got to experience that one thing that made this city popular and sought after by many travelers, foreign & domestic alike. Cagayan de Oro (CDO) City as dubbed the “adventure capital” in the Philippines is home to some of the most striking and exciting whitewater rafting.

What is Whitewater rafting?
Whitewater Rafting is a recreational activity utilizing a raft to navigate a river or other bodies of water. This is usually done on whitewater or different degrees of rough water, in order to thrill and excite the raft passengers. The development of this activity as a leisure sport has become popular since the mid-1970s.

We reached CDO around 11am, had quick lunch just nearby the meeting area where our guide is scheduled to pick us up at 1pm. It is just at the heart of the city, where the famous “Night Café” happens.

It was an hour ride (more or less) from the city to our jump-off point. But before going to our destination, we stopped at the Macahambus Adventure Park . The Macahambus Adventure Park is located at Barangay Lumbia, just a 25-minute ride from the city. To think about it, this park is petite in terms of area… not much animals nor flowers…nor kiddie slides or playground…. In short, it’s not your typical park! The Macahambus Gorge Adventure Park caters to thrill-seekers who are nuts for adventure!

The park has a Sky Bridge, which runs for 123 meters across and a height 150 meters, surely to make you feel cold with knees shaking…that’s at least what I felt making my first 5 steps across the bridge.

Looking down the gorge from the Sky Bridge, I felt in between fear & excitement. It was unexplainable, almost like I wanted to throw up!? (eiiwz)…

One thing strange also, is that, malamig naman yung hangin dun sa park, kasi nga highland sya, pero pinagpawisan talaga ako sobrah! Ha ha ha! Also, what’s so cool about the challenge is that you won’t have a choice but to finish the entire obstacle. I mean, if you’ve made it to 110 meters with all the knees-shaking, almost throw-up state, you might as well finish it than to walk all the way back, right? Ano, bali? As for me? I did what I have to do, despite my almost throw-up state, I walked through it all with dignity & pride! LOL!

So moving on, after you walked through all the 123-m Sky Bridge, take a deep breath and enjoy the slide-for-life, a 120-m Zip Line at a height of 150 feet. It was quite short, but enjoyable indeed! Just enough to relieve you from the almost throw-up Sky Bridge…

If you’re looking for more adventure, you can also try rappelling down the gorge itself. It’s a bit tiring, but hey, the enjoyment is immeasurable!

After that unexplainable experience, we proceeded with our mission – conquer the wild white waters!

There are several categories for the rafting, depending on your capabilities & experience. For us, we just took the Class 2 – 3½ (for beginners), which run for 3 hours, stretching about 12.34 km and features 14 rapids. Not bad.

So, we got few instructions about the basics of the sport, some safety precautions and then off we go, bumpin’ the rapids! Yeaaah! It was one hecl of a ride! For some reasons I knew this was a risky sport but heck!? I did not see any face frownin’ as we bump and paddle our way out through all 14 rapids. Lahat kita yung ngipin, grabeh! By the way, you can pay the guides additional bucks for them to take your pictures while rafting. It was also amusing to hear that some the rapids have names, each relating to a hilarious incident that happened to a celebrity.
We finished rafting about 3 1/2 hours. The end point was a restaurant where we had our snack and took a little shower and change up. We headed back downtown at around 5pm. It was an awesome day indeed! And we are coming back! Definitely.

Paintball Basics

Paintball is a safe, simple yet challenging and strategic sport that is played usually by two teams, each with at least two players. Adults and kids alike enjoy this sport as they often refer to it as an advanced or improvised game of tag.

Tournaments attract many spectators of all ages, as it is a very exciting game to watch.

Paintball games are of various types, however, the most popular game often played is called "capture the flag". The object or the goal of this game is for teams to advance to the opponent’s base, move the other team’s flag to its destined location, at the same time guarding your own flag.

The paintball field has many obstacles such as tires, forts, old cars, hay and the newest are “inflatables” that are constructed as refuge for team players; making the game all the more exciting, as if participating in an actual game of war in videos.

When one is hit, it can hurt briefly and at times give players bruises. Players are typically required to be in long sleeves shirt and pants, making sure that the color is not be identical as that of the judge and complete paintball gear such as mask, helmet and goggles for safety.

The sport of paintball has a distinct and accurate set of rules that are strictly followed. The producer of the tournament is the absolute authority in regard to either an alteration or addition to the rules; marshals oversee the event, and their decision is always final. No dispute on the paintball field is accommodated or entertained.

A military approach to paintball is useless, as that knowledge is recognized and understood by the teams. A team’s tactic should be carefully planned; your team’s line of attack will not be known by the opposing team, and there should be a quick switch of plans in case something goes wrong.

There must be a lot of team work involved, as everyone moves through the field. As a team member moves, there should be others to guard and keep watch and give off covering shots when necessary. A team that moves together with a common objective will have a great chance of succeeding in this game.

Communication in the field is also very important. A team-mate can shout the position of the opponent. The moment that a player is seen, the game for that player is up; so there is no reason for you to keep quite; instead, inform the others the location of the enemy.

The excitement of this game concludes when you are seen and eliminated - a situation that all team players struggle to avoid.

Why Paintball is Popular

Paintball is fast becoming one of the most popular games around. It has become an alternative past time from the usual athletic games being played; and it has become one of the most exciting outdoor sports in the world. Anybody can play paintball, regardless of race, sex, age and social status. It is a game for people who have taste for competition and adventure.

The game combines two of the most popular childhood past times: tag and hide-and-seek, the objective being to capture the flag of the enemy while protecting one's own.

There are several reasons for the popularity of paintball:

1. It is the team sport that enables one to remove an opponent from the game without being penalized for it. In fact, removing one's opponent is very much part of the game. It is the survival of the smartest and the quickest.

2. There is a strong sense of danger, not necessarily a physical one. The threat of being removed from the game makes it more exciting for the participants. But since it is only a game, the fear is not enough to make one mentally-incapacitated. With the right safety gear, no one is really in any real danger. It is all in the mind.

3. All players are equal. Experience is the only basis of one's edge over the other player. Factors such as race, gender and age do not put one ahead of the other.

4. There is a total absence of physical contact. There is no need for a player to manhandle his opponent so that he can be eliminated from the game. One only needs to shoot the opponent, which can be done from a relatively safe distance. Very few injuries and no deaths have resulted from playing paintball.

5. There is no need to be an athlete. Playing paintball does not require extreme physical strength. In fact, the game can be played with very few physical movements.

6.No one really needs to be experienced to enjoy the game. Though it matters, a lot of old-time players find themselves surprisingly eliminated by first-time participants. It is anybody's game.

7. It is gadget-crazy. Everybody likes gadgets. Paintball requires a lot of them.

Paintball is a very stimulating and exciting sport. Playing the game gives one the chance to renew the inner child in people. It enables one to maximize his sense of adventure, without risking life and limb for that sought-after rush.

Majestic Islands of Mati Davao Oriental

Last friday, me and the entire management team of WIHD had a chance to explore a few (of the several) magical islands of Mati (Davao Oriental).
There is not much i can say about the whole trip...about Mati's majestic islands and beaches...
it's just but PERFECT. I love the place sOoo much!

Mati City is located on the eastern part of the island of Mindanao. It is one hundred sixty-five(165) kilometers away from Davao City,a one and a half hours drive from Tagum City. Mati boasts of being the coconut capital of Mindanao if not the whole country. Mati has a long stretch of shoreline and one can find beaches of pure,powder-like white sand. It is now considered as one of the hottest tourist spots in the Philippines. Dahican is one of the most popular destinations in Mati bragging with its clear waters and 17-km pure and fine white sand shore: There is also : Camp Jericho; Tourism Complex; Waniban Island; the Sleeping Dinosaur; Vanishing Oak Island; and the ever popular Pujada Bay (in Pujada Island) which is considered as among the richest bays in the South East Asia. There are 15,700 species of sea creatures that can be found in the Pujada Bay. Indeed, Mati is the best-kept secret of Davao Region.

- the site is very much accessible. It is just with in heart of Davao. Exact location is @ Diversion Road, Maa Davao City (just in front of GAP farm) it just beside the highway and the Xcelarator signage is much big you'd easily see it.

What to expect?
- extreme thrilling emotions! adrenalin rush!
You will pass through few fun obstacles before getting to ride the Xcelarator. A few trekking, then a short bamboo raft ride across a river and a short uphill trek (just enough to make you sweat, grasp for air & make your knees shake..hehehe).
If you go there on week ends, these will be your activities.
1) Trekking.
2) river rafting.
3) Zip Line.

But, if you come in a group (atleast 15 pax), take the week days skeds.
Because, there is still one thing you'd never want to miss!

4) The Two-line Traverse Walk.

This is as extreme as the Zip Line itself!
The two-line traverse is a thrill-provoking activity where one will cross a suspended horizontal cable at the top of the 70 feet off-the-ground jungle canopy. Walking sideways of about 100 meters long heightens the feeling of adventure.

Last week I finally got the chance to experience the ride of my life.
Flying high and fast like a speeding bullet....(charrr!)

Really, this was one experience that is truly, madly unforgetable!

Dolphin Island @ Misamis Occidental Aquamarine Park (MOAP)

A Holy Week get-away.

I was very much excited last Holy Week because of the very long holiday…... (I took the opportunity to file a leave for 2 days so I could be free for the entire week). My destination was the much talked about Dolphin Island | Misamis Occ. Aquamarine Park (MOAP).

I have prepared so much for this trip, because the place is very much far from where I reside – Davao City. Okay relax, let me first give you a li’l good reason why I exhausted my very self to travel this far just to see the place…

MOAP, as it is popularly called, lies in a 60-hectare coastal area abundant in mangrove trees. They also have several clusters of hatchery for different aquamarine life. It has a string of cottages, a floating restaurant and function halls uniquely built to compliment its serene environment – all these are connected by wooden bridges!

How to get there?
If you’re from outside the Philippines:
Take a plane going to Manila. From Manila, take another plane to Dipolog City, which is about 3 hours away from Sinacaban going south by bus. An alternate route is by barge from Manila to Ozamiz City. Ozamiz City is the capital of Misamis Occidental and is about 30 minutes away from Sinacaban by bus. Get off the bus when you get to Misamis Occidental Aquamarine Park (MOAP). You can always ask the driver to get you to MOAP as it’s a famous place around the area and plus most bus drivers are nice and accommodating so don’t hesitate to ask for directions!

If you’re from Davao (like me!), you can either take a plane or exhaust yourself a li’l bit by taking the bus to Cagayan de Oro (CDO) City. Bus ride would take about 6 hours, which you will surely enjoy because of the awesome views. Then ride a bus to Ozamis City, which would take about 4 hours.

The Trip.

We arrived at MOAP around 11am, just in time for lunch! Upon entrance I already knew it was going to be a very interesting day. MOAP boastfully welcomes you with her vast area of fishing hatcheries, mangroves and mini zoo. Overwhelmed as we are, we kept our cool and decided to explore the place later before going home. So we rushed to the floating restaurant, which to my surprise is still about 300 meters far from mainland and can only be accessed thru the wooden/bamboo bridge...(cool huh!? Yeah, I admit my knees were shaking…hehe!)

So we had our lunch! The delicious Chicken Adobo, Fish Sinigang & Grilled Pork. Food was delicious and very affordable!

Shortly after, we were at the jetty waiting for the pump boat that would take us to The Dolphin Island. We paid 1,500.00 (boat fare & entrance fee) for an exclusive trip. It only cost 220/head (back & forth). It took us about 15mins. to reach Dolphin Island.

You can do a lot of activities here: dine (they have a resto!) snorkeling, kayaking, or just simply bask in the blue waters and white sand bar. As the name suggests, the island, nestles a number of dolphins enclosed in a network of pens totally surrounding the entire area. The dolphins here were said to have been rescued by fishermen, and the entire belt itself, according to caretakers, has become a dolphin/fish sanctuary. If you don’t believe the story, well you can try asking the dolphins themselves! You are free to go swimming with them or have the pleasure of feeding them.

We left the island around 5pm and headed back to MOAP where we explored their 60-hectare coastal mangrove. Within the mangrove is a mini zoo with lots of monkeys…. crocodiles, sawa (snake), several species of birds and 1 tarsier (which was deeply asleep that time..)
