Random Acts of Kindness-The first chapter

2013-12-22T14:06:00.001-11:00

Hello friends and Happy December!!...even if it is already 22 days late...

I don't know about you but I am still in aww that it is December! It feels like the older I get the faster the years, months and days fly by. I don't like it. I don't like it one bit. I am only 23. However it has been a fun filled Christmas season! You know when you are little and you wish for an easy bake oven or a new doll and your Christmas just doesn't feel like Christmas without it. It all feels so different now. What do I want for Christmas? There are plenty of things I'd like...I'd love a hot pink kitchen aid or a new camera. But the funny thing is those things just don't seem important anymore. Sometimes I feel like I am going through the actions but not really feeling all that I should be feeling, if that makes any sense. I love Christmas. Like obsessed Elf over here! But this year everything just feels so different...so superficial. Probably another sign of growing up...sigh...

So this year I've decided to do something a little different....

I'm sure you've all heard of "Random Acts of Kindness"

I've decided to dedicate this month of happiness and many times greed to helping others. I am usually a pretty giving person. But I felt like this year I needed to do something more...

I made a list of everything I hoped to get done. Not everything got checked off, but I accomplished many things that weren't on the list as well. It is nearly impossible to grab a photo of every one that I did but here are a few snapshots :)

"Adopt" a child for Christmas. I got this heart off of the tree at church. They have these sorts of things all over town though.

Buy dinner for a friend. In our world we count mall pretzels as dinner :p

Leave enough money for someone to buy a soda. Shopping makes you thirsty.

Tape popcorn to a RedBox.

Surprise a friend with Starbucks! Tavi isn't only my best friend but my coworker so she needs a pick me up when she needs to be at work by 6 am...

Put candy canes on people's cars!

Bring flowers or in our case a poinsettia to a nursing home.

My bestie was sick so I brought her a "feel better" bag. This is why I'm the "mom"

Leave single dollar bills in the dollar toy section of Target. Hopefully it made some kiddies day a lot brighter :)

To me a Random Act of Kindness can be something as small and simple as opening a door for a stranger, giving a compliment to your extremely nice and stressed looking waitress or surprising a friend with their favorite drink. These aren't difficult things. And believe me they have a much bigger impact than you could probably imagine.

As part of my New Years Resolution I am going to keep The Random Acts of Kindness going. I would love to encourage all of you to do the same. We were put on this earth to put others first. Take a moment out of your day and help a friendly...and sometimes not so friendly stranger.

"Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time, and always start with the person nearest to you"

-Mother Teresa

I love the 4th of July.

2013-07-09T13:34:00.000-11:00

Can you believe it is July already?!

I sure can't! Heck I feel like all of the kiddies just got out of school. But I sure am glad it is! The 4th of July has always been one of my favorite holidays. It's great because... you get to blow stuff up, you get to grill out (well I grill veggie burgers), there are always carnivals and funnel cakes and you get to spend time with family but relax at the same time. Now don't get me wrong I love Christmas, love love love it!! But you always feel like there is so much you need to get in. With the 4th it's just chilling and watching fireworks. I approve.

This year I was extra thankful because my sister and brother in law were back in the good U.S.A. Last year they just moved to Canada and it just wasn't the same. But we got to spend extra time together this year. I got to actually sleep in, kind of sad I missed the parade but well worth it to catch some extra shut eye. Then we all watched the hot dog eating contest on TV. I never really got it but the siblings get a kick out of it. After that we all went over to Grandma and Grandpas for board games. My team lost. I swear they cheat :p Finally we went out to my dads house which is great for fireworks because they live out in the country. Jason (my brother in law) and dad are obsessed with fireworks so that alone made my night haha.

The next day Tavi and I ventured down to a carnival here in town called "Sawdust Days." Not going to lie there are some questionable people down there. People wear things they really shouldn't. But it is tradition! We get a funnel cake and take it all in. After sweating to death the sun finally went down and we got to enjoy the fireworks. Weird not seeing them on the 4th but it was actually kind of perfect.

It is an amazing country we live in here. I am being reminded of that more and more as I grow up. We are so blessed to live in the land of the free, because of those brave souls.

Hello agan.

2013-07-08T09:26:00.000-11:00

I'm back!

I obviously haven't been blogging in a while. I just felt like I needed to take a break from it all. As much as I love blogging sometimes you just need a break from it. And that's just what I did. I wasn't feeling inspired anymore, I was posting just to post.

But time away did me well...I am excited to be back in the blogging community!!

There are so many cool and exciting things happening in my life right now! I can't wait to share them with you guys.

I was contemplating if I wanted to keep this blog or just start up a brand new one. After thinking I decided to keep this one. I am still that girl, just new things happening.

Here are some things I am going to write about...

Faith:

My faith has always been a big part of my life, but recently I feel like it has changed me for the better! I have been reading my Bible more often and listening to Christ based music and it makes my heart so happy. It makes me feel at peace. A relationship with the Lord is the best relationship you can have. I am so proud to be building mine and letting the Lord mold me into the women he wants me to become. There is always more to learn, believe me! I plan to openly talk about my love for Jesus Christ and the things he is teaching me. Life is a blessing! A book that I read that really made me think and contemplate was "The Purpose driven life." I recommend it to you! It transformed my way of thinking and know it can do the same for you too.

Work:

I love my job! It's rare that people can say that and actually mean it...but I do!! I work at a bakery here in town called "Tamara's the cake guru" If you are ever in town be sure to stop by we carry 10-20 different flavors of cupcakes at a time! I promise they are worth the drive. I have been at this job for about 8 months now and not once has there been a dull moment. I get to go to wedding shows and other fun events, memorize every cupcake inside and out, work on our brand new work blog, update our addicting facebook page, decorate and much more! That's the fun part, there is always something new for me to learn. And the crew I work with is amazing. We're like one big crazy family. I wouldn't have it any other way! We are expanding and adding. Next step...Food Network!

Traveling:

I love to travel!! I really wish I got to do it more. But recently I have decided to make anywhere an adventure! My favorite place to go is definitely Nashville, Tennessee. It is seriously the most beautiful place I have ever been. Really any time of year is gorgeous! I go for the people, the food, oh yea...and the country music!!! Someday I will move there..someday. I also really love New York city or anywhere that has an open road where I can roll the windows down and let my hair blow in the wind.

With The Bean in Chicago!

We took a sister trip to Chicago to see She & Him

Navy Pier

On a bridge that looks over Nashville...so cool!!

Music:
I am always looking for new music. If you have any recommendations let me know! I love hearing new stuff. Some of my favorites are... Taylor Swift, She & Him, The Lumineers, Mumford and Sons, Luke Bryan, The Beatles. The list goes on... There is nothing better than a good concert!! I looove seeing live concerts! I recently saw She & Him in Chicago (we got 5th row baby!!) My sister and I were blown away. They are even better live and that really says something!!!

Family and Friends:

I love my family and friends so much. We are always up to something fun. I am so blessed to have them in my life.

Modeling:

I am far from professional, but I sure have fun doing it!! I get to do so many cool things like fashion shows and photo shoots. I get to wear some amazing things. Anything vintage is my favorite!

Those are just a few of the many things I'm exited to talk about.

Hello blog..I've missed you!!

Megan Wara...your next CW14 star!!

2013-03-02T11:37:00.000-11:00

Hello my lovelies!!

What have I been up to??

Let me tell you..I have exciting news!!!

I am currently in the top 10 to be the next CW14 star!! A few weeks back I auditioned and made it to the top 9! The people voted in the 10th candidate. What does the next CW14 star do? If I got this I would be considered "the face of the CW14"..how cool is that!?!? I would get to work behind and in front of the camera. By giving interviews and segments in between shows. This would be a paid 1 year job. AKA...a dream come true!

I have always liked being the center of attention. I liked using television and acting as an outlet to be heard. I would watch people like Kelly Rippa on TV and think ..that's what I want to do!! I really do believe God made me like this for a reason. There is a reason he made me confident and bubbly. It is to be the voice of millions. I want to be a good role model for girls everywhere. In this world we need better influences. My motto is "be you, be beautiful." Showing that you are beautiful just the way you are!

Since then we went to a basketball game at The Resch Center. Before the game we wore our CW14 shirts, passed out some of our business cards and got photos with a few of the people coming into the game. At half time we got to run out on the court and promote ourselves..and dance to Gangnam style haha. It was a great chance to meet the other contestants and explore some of what the job would entail! It was such a fun day!!! The hardest part was trying to make the shirt look fashionable :p

The next step in this process was getting our makeovers!! However living in Wisconsin the weather is never great in winter. The day we had makeovers I had to rescedule because of the blizzard and the long drive. But I got my makeover a few days later and it was amazing! I felt like a mini celebrity :p heehee. I went to The Paul Mitchell School in Green Bay to get my hair cut, styled, dyed, makeup done and an eyebrow wax. I was there all day but luckily I had a fabulous stylist who made the day one for the books.

After my awesome makeover we got to go in the studio! Now that-that was a dream come true!! I have always imagined being in a studio like that. Being able to see it all right in front of my eyes was the coolest thing ever!! I just didn't want to leave.

Right now we are in Round 2.

What does that mean??

Let me tell you!! You guys can help me by voting and commenting!! That is what determines the 5 that go to the next round.

You can vote once a day until March 10th at CW14online.com

It only takes a few minutes to register and vote.

You can watch my videos right there on the site.

Help me chase my dream and spread the word!!

Check out my about me page!

2013-01-15T13:27:00.003-11:00

Oh bloggy...how I have missed you.

I find myself so busy lately that I don't have time to write on here anymore. But it is a new year and I want to start up blogging again :) When I have time, I am giving myself the freedom to do this whenever I want and feel no pressure to keep up with eveyone else.

I am so ready for 2013! It is going to be a year of adventure, goals and spiritual and emotional growth! Lord help this year be one of the best yet!

So what's new with me?

Well...

1.) My sister got married...on New Years eve!! They live in Canada so we planned the whole thing here in WI in 2mo so they could get married when they came home. It was a beautiful wedding. I am so blessed to have gained a new brother and to see my sissy so happy!

2.) I love love love my job (I love being able to say that!!) I've been getting to help with wedding shows and talking with brides! I love it!!

and so many other things! I can not wait to see what this year holds!

Chop chop??

2012-09-26T13:46:00.000-11:00

As you know I am always switching up my hair. I get bored so easy...good and bad thing.

I am considering cutting it...but then I get so sad and regret it. But these cute hairstyles make me want to chop chop!!

Desicions, decisions... what's your favorite?

Monday Monday...

2012-09-17T07:24:00.000-11:00

Happy Monday all!!!

It sure does feel like fall here in Wisconsin today..how lovely!

With fall almost here it's only right to make pumpkin cupcakes.

I made some last night. Only a minor downfall breaking the can opener..and since I just got a new phone I was without a phone. Sooo I had to make due. They sure were yummy though!

Grab the recipe here.

Super easy!!

Until we meet again..

2012-09-11T05:29:00.001-11:00

Goodbyes are never easy. One of my best friend's Naomi left the other day to become a nanny in Pittsburgh. It is gonna be such a fabulous adventure for her! But I miss her already!! Just another thing on the list of changes. She's off to be a nanny until February and I just ended my term of being one. It is definitely sad to think I won't be able to see Lyla 5 days a week. I love that little girl. But it is time, time for me to move on and make some new changes.

I am looking into culinary schools that have a spcific major in baking/pastry. The dream down the line is to open my own cupcake bakery complete with delivery service. Because sometimes you just crave a cupcake and want to order one! So that is the first step. I found 2 schools I really like. None in Wischonsin. One of them is called Le Cordon Bleu, I'm looking at the ones in Chicago and Minnesota. And then there is The Art Institute, I'm looking at the Nashville one. It is just so scary to think of moving on my own to a brand new city. Ahhh so much to think about!! I'm going to be talking to the school representitives today and see how it sounds. I

I just need to pray more and worry less.

This is just gonna be a year of many new, scary and exciting chapters!

Strawberry Souffle!!...umm yumm!!

2012-09-09T06:51:00.001-11:00

I have a new goal: Do something I have never done before at least once a month.

Well I am proud to say that I have already done 2 and it is only the 9th! Hip hip hooray!! Let's see here which one shall I share today...hmmm. I'll share the wonderful strawberry souffle!! I have ALWAYS wanted to make a souffle and so I decided I would give it a try!

My best friend Tav and I are obessed with baking. So we decided to make a blog dedicated to baking and share our lovely treats with the world. Also howto's and funny stories. I am really excited to get started on it! And to be able to do it with my best friend makes it so much better :)

Here is the link if you wanna take a look :) It's called "Sweet Treats from my Best Friends Kitchen"

Luckily making the souffle wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The hardest part for us was the "stiff peaks" it calls for 4 eggs and we ended up going through 9..note to self: don't play with the yolk. Oopsie haha. When we took them out of the oven they were risen and beautiful but after like 10 min they deflated a bit haha. But they tasted delicious!!!

Long lost hello!

2012-09-07T05:32:00.001-11:00

Summer Beauty Picks!!!

2012-06-14T07:07:00.000-11:00

I have recently found some new makeup that I just LOVE!!..which is a rare thing!!

It's the worst when you are so excited and then you try it out...and it is just no good!

So here I am to tell you a few good finds I've recently found :)

1. Victorias Secret Perfecting Primer-I got this in a set along with tons of other beauty goodies. I've been meaning to get a primer for the eyes so this was my lucky day to see this in the set! I just love it!! It's super easy to use, just dab it on your eyelids. Basically it helps hold your eye makeup longer..and it does!! So glad I have this!!

2. Olay beauty fluid-I use this on my face every morning and night after I wash my face. You can never be to young to start moisturizing your skin. I always trust Olay because I have such sensitive skin. This is just a great essential to have and get in the habit of using.

3. Revlon Photoready Airbrush-I have been looking for something like this and then saw an ad in my magazine for this and decided to give it a try. I was nervous because I never use makeup like this. I always stick to a powder. Buuuut I am glad I bought it...really glad!! It is so easy to apply you just squirt some on a makeup sponge and then just apply to the face. Goes on flawless and actually blends! This is my favorite recent find..I LOVE it!!

4. Stila one step bronze- I got this in the mail yesterday it was included in my Birchbox (if you don't know what Birchbox you should check it out!!) This is so great for summer, helps us white girls get a bit of color!! I feel like my skin is glowing already :p

5. Covergirl lashblast mascara-This stuff is cheap and great! It is just as good as the expensive stuff...a must have!

6. Physicians Formula eyeshadow-Best eyedhadow I have ever had. The colors are amazing and it actually stays on for hours! I'm slowly adding more and more to my collection. I just love it!

7. Victorias Secret eyeliner-I have tryed my fair share of eyelines.Every brand, every kind. Finally I have found my favorite..this stuff is awesome! It was also included in that kit I got. It goes on in pencil form but feels and looks like liquid..but way less messy!! I am addicted!

8. nyx mosiac powder blush-This is a great color for summer! It doesn't go on orange it's more of a coral.

9 Maybelline Baby Lips-This is kinda like a lip balm. An added plus is it has spf in it...so again a great summer find! Makes my lips feel smooth and wonderful. And this stuff is cheap. Cheap is always good!

10. Revlon Lip Butter (color:peach parfait)-I have heard nothing but good about this so finally I gave in and bought it. Needless to say, it is wonderful! It isn't sticky like some other lipsticks. It really is light as air and doesn't feel like I'm wearing anything at all.

this...and that.

2012-06-04T16:14:00.000-11:00

girls day in Madison!!

2012-06-03T12:13:00.001-11:00

Yesterday my mom, sister and I took a day trip to Madison.

This included all things that us gals love... shopping, food, exploring, laughing, and some good music.

It really was a great day!!!

There is just something about Madison that really inspires me. The people, the shops, the music. I love it all! Everything is so unique and lovely. I can see myself living here someday...even if just for a while.

We spent the morning/afternoon shopping at one of the malls. Some good finds! After that we went to state street and got some yum yum yummy lunch...oh and cake. Some of the best cake...ever! And that's saying something! We hit all of the stores on the strip and went down by the water for a bit.

Later that night I went to a concert while mom and Mindy hit up a comedy club. I have been a fan of Josiah Leming for years! If you haven't heard of him..you should!! He is very talented and an all around great guy. I got to sell merch for him and hang with him and some of the other performers for a bit. I just love musicians. They always have good stories and are just insanly interesting! If I was more musically inclined I would be a musician hands down. Nothing is better than a good concert!! The adrenaline, the crowd, the energy...the MUSIC!!! Such a great time!!! I also got to hear some new artists. My favorite was Grace Weber. Look her up..she is amazing!! When I heard her sing I just couldn't believe how talented she was! And to top it off she's a sweetheart! The concert was a hit. Sooo glad I got to go meet some new friends and hear some good tunes. Perfect night :)

we have good genes :)

Ohhhh they tasted as good as they looked!!

Not only is he insanly talented...but he wears suspenders. My heart just skipped a beat.

Take a listen!!

Gonna party like it's your birthday...

2012-05-30T08:28:00.000-11:00

Last weekend was a blast!! Both of my friends had their Birthdays. Soooo of course we had to go out and celebrate. We went out both Friday and Saturday night. Needless to say I am still without a voice haha. But a great time!!! Who doesn't love Birthdays?!

Memorial Day :)

2012-05-29T03:58:00.000-11:00

I've been a little side-tracked the last few days.

Didn't really have a lot of time to update my bloggy...

But here is a snapshot of the lovely Memorial Day I had yesterday. It was really relaxing and the weather was great!!! We went over to my dads house and grilled out (I had my veggie burgers.) It was just what I needed!! Hope you all had a fantastic day as well!!

Now we can finally get ready for summer...bring it on!!!

Inspirational lady #5...Jessica Simpson

2012-05-21T11:53:00.002-11:00

#5...Jessica Simpson!

She does it all!! I know a lot of people don't like her...but I do! I always have. I have been her biggest fan for years. I have nothing but respect for her.

She started out in music and worked really hard to get there (I watched the true hollywood story :p.)

One thing I've always admired about her was that she remained a virgin until marriage. That shows a lot about the person she is and her strengthing faith. Now I know things have changed since then, but growing up I was able to look at her as just the greatest example. Still do.

In the midst of her music career she shot a hit reality show with then husband Nick Lachey. She was soon a househeld name. She was never afraid to laugh at herself and be a big dork. I can relate!

She is a major help with the "Operation Smile" charity. Helping children with cleft lips get surgery. She says everyone deserves to feel beautiful. Along with that she does tours for many of the soldiers.

She started a line of shoes and since then branched out into handbags, clothes and really anything you can think of.

She even worked with Ken Paves to create a line of hair extensions.

Oh yes and perfume...(I use the perfume and it my favorite...smells soooo good!!)

Most recently she is part of the hit TV show "Fashion Police"

She is now engaged and just had a baby girl...awwww.

This girl is a true inspiration!! She really does seem to do it all. And be able to laugh at herself along the way. I can't wait to see what she does next. I really hope that she puts out a new album soon. But of course mommy duties come first.

Anybody who ever said this girl is dumb needs to think again. Look at everything she's accomplished!

#6...Nicole Richie. Fashion Icon.

2012-05-17T11:26:00.000-11:00

#6 Nicole Richie.

Fashion Icon!

Now when you first hear the name Nicole Richie you don't automatically think romodel. But I do. I think she's a great example. She is one person who constantly inspires me. Yes she's made a few wrong turns in life...but who hasn't. The main thing is she owned up to what she did. And made a major comeback.

She has taken the fashion world by storm. She has 2 hit clothing lines and also stars on the hit show "Fashion Star."

Basically she's living out my dream lol.

Seriously everything she wears looks like she stepped out of a magazine. Even if it's just skinny jeans and ballet flats. Perfect. If I could steal anyones wardrobe it would be hers!

Boho chic...and totally fabulous!!

She still makes room for her family. Her #1 priority is being a mom (the way it should be.)

Yet she is still outspoken and hilarious! Nobody could censor her if they tryed...but it's all part of why she's so fabulous.

This girl totally inspires me.

I can never wait to see what she's wearing or what she's gonna do or say next.

Inspiring Women...#7 Jennifer Aniston

2012-05-16T15:12:00.002-11:00

Tonight is the start of what is going to be a week long countdown.

Each day I will be doing a new inspirational lady.

Each one a great romodel.

Someone I think girls should look up to and admire.

I know I do.

So let's kick things off with #7.

#7. Jennifer Aniston.

I have been a major Jennifer Aniston fan ever since I saw her on FRIENDS. Rachel was always my favorite. Since then she has filmed in many movies, some hits and some flops. But with that she grew into a bigger star. Everywhere you went you'd see her picture. After all she is Americas sweetheart.

But through it all you never saw her getting a big ego over it. Ever. Or spending insane amounts of money. She just looks like she would be a cool down to earth person. I think we could be friends! She held her head high through a very public divorce and never once tryed to make people feel sorry for her. She didn't go around saying negative things she just kept to herself. That takes a real lady!

And not that looks should matter. But I love love love that she doesn't rely on insane amounts of makeup and hair extensions. She looks like an actual person. And that is beautiful! She looks just as gorgeous without makeup as she does with.

She is one for the books. An all over classy lady. I think she is just so genuine. I would love to meet her someday and pick her brain! What a class act! There really should be more ladies like her.

Hey Ya'll ...Nashville trip

2012-05-16T12:12:00.000-11:00

A few weeks back Tav and I took a trip to my all time favorite place ever...Nashville!!! I can go to this place over and over again and still feel like I'm seeing it for the first time. This was Tavi's first time there so I was reallyyyy excited to show her around! Listen to me..knowing where things are!!

Here is a recap of the trip..I'll try to cut it down..

On the way there we only got lost like once or twice (not bad for us!!) All I can say is thank gahhh for a GPS! I really need to get me one of those bad boys.. We had a blast on the road. Road tripping with your besties..what's not to love!! We had our fair share of laughs from perverted truck drivers to getting the finger for no reason. But we couldn't help but laugh our butts off. Finally we got to Nashville. Poor Tavi she had to put up with me yelping with joy! This is my town..how could I not cheer and squeel and speed!? Before hitting our destination we ran into Walmart to grab a few must haves and ran into the bathroom and to my shock..it was the mens bathroom. Sounds about right haaha.

Lucky for us I have a friend that lives in Nashville so we had a place to stay. Shout out to Jay, thanks again for letting us noisy messy girls stay there :))

We got there late that night and just chilled. That's really all you want to do after a long trip. It was good catching up again. I have't seen Jay in a while. It's always great catching up with old friends again.

The next day Tav and I ventured out. And found this cute little cafe connected to the library with some dang good cake...good food to...but look at that cake!! It was so lovely when we left, sun shining warm. And then when we got downtow...cold and rainy..booo. But hey, rain is a good thing! I showed Tav Broadway st (only one of the coolest places in Nash). But decided to get out of the rain. So we hit up Opry Mills mall. It was actually my first time there (every other time it was closed due to flooding.) They had some awesome stores there to check out. And bonus I got some free goodies at Vera Bradley for my birthday. We bummed there for a few hours and then headed back to the house to eat. On the way back my phone died so I just assumed I would go back and charge it. Buuuut no luck, it was broke. And no US Cellular. I was out a phone and it was only our first day there... Just my luck. We relaxed for a few hours and watched TV. Funny new show I'm addicted to it's always sunny in philadelphia. After a little Dumb and Dumber we decided to get up and go out. It was a Friday night in Nashville after all!!!

Tav and I went downtown and heard some goooood music. I just can't help but dance when I hear that music. It's like somehthing in me that just ticks!! I got told that I looked like Taylor Swift, psh she's gorgeous I'll take that compliment! We danced around for a bit and then went to The Wild Horse Saloon. We got to attempt some line dancing...key word here is attempt. But it was a blast!!

On the forecast for the next day..rain. Sigh...buuuut we made the best of it ...again.

I have been putting off getting a my blue butterfly tattoo for like 2 years. Not because I didn't want it but because I was so nervous! Even though I already have one. Weird right?? We got ice cream downtown (they thought I was a local AND I got a discount because the girl thought we'd be good friends.) People in the South are just so nice. After stalling all day I decided tattoo time! It was a parlor right on Broadway st. The place I always planned on going to get it done. 2 years ago my first time there I went in and chickened out. And then last year I went in but they were close to close and were closed on Sundays. So this was my time! Now or never. I went in told the man what I wanted and sat there nervously shifting. He was very nice but kinda weird. He sang to himself when he did the tattoo. It took longer then we thought but that's because he got caught up in detail. Looking back now I am soooo glad I went through with it! I just love it! And it didn't hurt nearly as bad as I thought it would. After tattoo time we went to Hard Rock for some yum yums.

We got back to the house and Tav didn't feel like going out again. And that was cool with me. I thought maybe Jay would...but he didn't. Instead we listened to records and chatted the night away. Perfect. It was so much better than going out would have been.

Before I knew it we were on our last day... :( So we went to The Farmhouse Restaurant if you are ever in Nash you should really go!! In the back we found this trail. Of course we didn't have our tennies with us. But it was so beautiful we decided to walk it anyway. And it wasn't raining!! Great trails! I would go back for sure! We even found us some walking sticks :p

That night I was very excited to check out the famous Bluebird Cafe. Musicians like Taylor Swift and Dierks Bentley performed here before they hit it big. We had good timing because right when we got there the line started forming. We didn't even know there would be a line...but good thing we were there haha. We met some nice people in line and then finally got to go in. Yet another place I would recommend. The food is amazing!! I loved the artist that was there to, they were so different and so talented and hilarious!! I guess they have open mic nights. I'm gonna have to go to one of those. This one of the highlights of this whole trip. Just a great vibe..very inspirational.

Last night back to the house. Boo. But when we got back Jay's other 2 roomates got home. I love these guys! We stayed up all night laughing and talking. Good company :)

Going home...sigh. It was a beautiful day!! We really didn't get lost ...bad.

But we did find this really cool place in Kentucky. We were told about this place called "Cave of the mounds" at one of the gas stations in town. So we thought we needed to check it out. So glad we did! It.was.beautiful. I would go back in a heartbeat.

So glad we went on this trip. Good bestie bonding time :)

Ever since this trip I have been looking into how much apartments there cost and potential jobs. You never know where life is going to take you. I have a very strong feeling that this is where I belong. But it's up to God where he wants to lead me.

My mom...

2012-05-13T11:22:00.000-11:00

Thank you to my mom.

I could write a 12 page thank you note to my mom thanking her for all she does.

She is an incredible lady who makes me laugh, makes me cry. And is always there to pick up the pieces.

I love you so much mom!!!

I couldn't imagine anyone else being my mom...we're the perect match :)

Happy Mothers Day!!!

We both grew into our looks...

I just want to travel the world, eat cupcakes and wear pretty dresses...

2012-05-12T16:20:00.000-11:00

I just want to travel the world, eat cupcakes and wear pretty dresses.

Is that to much to ask???

It sounds like such a simple task.

I just keep telling myself that I am young (younger than I will ever be)

Now is the time!!

What an amazing thrill it would be to just travel...all the time.

Be a citizen of the world....

Meet new people...

Hear new music...

Learn sooooo many new things....

Someday perhaps.

Until someday I will dream...

I saw this on Pinterest today.
Exactly what I needed to see!

A few weeks ago my sister and I went to Madison!!

It was indeed a great sissy day.

We spent the whole day shopping...of course!

Found some great finds..of course!!

Oh yes and stumbled upon a cupcakery.

Sometimes getting lost pays off.

And ended the day trip with the Ingrid Michaelson concert :)

Successful day.

And many many sissy memories :))

Perks and Pits.

2012-05-07T05:03:00.001-11:00

Sometimes I wish I didn't have to grow up.

There are many perks...along with many pits.

Right now I'm dealing with a perk/pit.

Right now I am a nanny to the cutest baby in the world. And a good baby she is always happy! So I consider myself so lucky. I get to play with her all day..no complaints. And with summer right around the corner we can go to the park all the time! I can't wait! But it's going to be going to 4 to 5 days in about a week.

That was my plan for the summer (and work JcPenney on Saturdays). But then I had a fitting for a fashion show I'm going to be in on Wed. It's with White House Black Market. I'll admit I've never been in their store before..they have BEAUTIFUL things!! But a wee bit out of my price range. But I was asked to model for them so I got to go in for a fitting. When I was there they told me they'd love to hire me! Exciting indeed! That is great news I would looooove to work there.

But when?? It is something I need to think about for sure. I don't want to pass up an oppurtunity to work with them. But it would conflict with my scedule. I guess there is always a way to make something work. Maybe just a few days a week.

I need all the money I can get though. Especially if I move in with Naomi this summer. But I don't want to just be working, working, working all summer. That's no summer at all!

A day to think...and watch Gilmore Girls (addicted)

I love being the birthday girl...

2012-05-05T13:27:00.001-11:00

Here is a muuuuuch delayed Birthday post.

My Birthday was at the begining of April (the 9th). I turned the big 22. That's right where does the time go?? Haha.

Now I know I am not an old lady or anything. I like to think of myself like wine...better with time :)

Here are some of my favorite shots from my birthday.

My sissy surprised me with Starbucks...that makes for a GREAT sister in my book!!

I spent the morning with Ly. We were twins :p

My mom made this...amazing...oh yes.

Girls night out!!! Always a good time!

Look at these beauts!!! Made me...tall..you heard me right.

Appletinis...more like apple...no-nis. Didn't love them...

There is just a quick recap. I am happy to welcome May though. And I just got VERY exciting news. My best friend who is living in Colombia just called and said she would be coming home to stay in a month or 2...you know what that means...roomies!!! Best news in a long time :))

Ombreee

2012-05-03T11:23:00.003-11:00

I am just utterly in love with the ombre trend.

From hair to nails...everything!!

Maybe even a little obsessed :p

Everytime I see someone with ombre hair I wish I could just trade hair with them for a few days.

It's a tough thing to pull off being a blonde.
Buuuut I am seriously considering trying it..

I played around a little on instyle.com they let you try tons of different styles and colors.

Maybe if the right time strikes I'll give it a whirl. Until then it's fun to play around :p

My favorite ombre I have seen is probably this sudden one that Lauren Conrad is rocking on her new book!!
