2007-02-09T01:55:00.000-08:00

Rajya Sabha member, Jaya Bachchan might land in trouble due to Big B...the issue being related to some property bought by Amitabh Bachchan, which did not find mention in Jaya's nomination papers for June 2006 bypoll to the upper House.

I has been claimed that Amitabh had bought two plots of land in Daulatpur village of Bara Banki, 40 kilometres from the state capital, which were duly registered in Big B's name on May 15, 2006 with the office of the registrar. Exactly a fortnight after the land was registered, Jaya filed her nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha bypoll. This fact was not mentioned in Jaya's asset declaration, mandatory for the candidates.

HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY!!!!!!

2007-01-25T20:18:00.000-08:00

As we are celebrating Republic Day on 26 Jan 2007 ...Today......I want you all to think and write about what you miss the most....about ur country..!!!

Could it be bursting firecrackers during Diwali or dancing for garba every night during Navratri?

Or
Going to all your family's houses and celebrating Eid with all your family and friends?

Or
Eating the Motichur ladoos and having garam garam vada pav with lasun chatni in the streets?

.....Or it could even be the gettogethers on the kattas near the colleges where we use to chit chat for looooooong hours and eat all possible stuff from the thelewalas / samosewalas/sandwichwalas?

Just pen them down.....and lets all take a break from our routines and go back to the OLD MEMORIES for some time at least.....

India to overtake U.S by 2050...

2007-01-23T22:18:00.000-08:00

Productivity growth will help India sustain over 8% growth until 2020 and become the second largest economy in the world, ahead of the US, by 2050, Goldman Sachs says in their BRICs report.

The original report had projected that India's GDP would outstrip Japan's by 2032 and that in 30 years, it would be the world's third largest economy after China and the US.

The new report goes one step further by moving India up from No. 3 and No. 2 in the global sweepstakes of tomorrow.

The underlying reasons are:

1) increased openness to trade

2) investment in information and communication technology and

3) greater financial deepening.

So we are going to outbeat the giant in the coming years!!!!..CONGRATS!!! to each one of us....as we are all contributors to the same in our own ways!!!!

Bangalore faces communal clashes...against the hanging of Saddam Hussein

2007-01-21T23:01:00.000-08:00

Surprising that.....so far from Iraq....in India in B'lore.....the violent clashes started Friday after people protested violently against the hanging of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein in communally sensitive areas with a large Muslim population.

A 12-year-old boy was killed and at least 22 people were injured when the police opened fire to chase away mobs that attacked them and also vandalised private and public property in the residential-cum-commercial areas of the city's eastern districts.

The whole of B'lore is tensed after this sudden erratic communal clash!!!

Gandhi ji "Falling in Love at 50"

2007-01-17T19:16:00.000-08:00

The new biography on Gandhi ji - Mohandas - A True Story of a Man, his People and an Empire brings in light a new aspect of his life...which was unknown till now.

The book written by his grandson Rajmohan Gandhi says that when Gandhi was 50 and Sarla Devi was 47, Gandhi had fallen for her. Sarla was neice of Ravindra N Tagore. He found a very intellectual and promising soul mate in her. But then his son Devdas, his future father-in-law Rajgopalacharya, Gandhi’s secretary Mahadev Desai and Gandhi’s nephew and others challenged Gandhi to return to his commitment and to end this affair that he was having with Sarla Devi.

And to Gandhi’s credit, he had the strength to end that relationship, which had seemed a promising one to him and which had an aesthetic element.
