ArtieQ - Columbus in a car

2012-07-16T12:53:00.000+03:00

It's been a while but here it is! ArtieQ Columbus in a car always a surprise! Nice music with a touch of humour in the lyrics as always :). I have to admit I didn't know all the explorers mentioned in the song :P... I have to say I'm a Sat Nav fan. I have to use the navigator everytime I go to a new place else getting lost is guranteed. So I get the feeling when you feel like an explorer :P. Keep it up ArtieQ! Lyrics follow:

© Robin Thomas Quinn 2012

I got a Sat Nav car
Tells you right where you are
I’ve got my Sat Nav, I’m Lost & Found

Hey yeah, yeah yeah

Lost & found, I was lost & found—Yeah!
Lost & found, I was lost & found—Yeah!

In a dream, I’m The Man and I sail away
Master Commander of the sea from yesterday

Hey—I’m in my SUV; I’ll get where I wanna be
Just like Columbus, I’m lost & found

Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Columbus in car

Walter Raleigh, Robert Scott, Tenzing Norgay, Jacques Cousteau, Francis Drake; I’d rather be
Columbus in a car

Marco Polo, Leif Ericson, Pedro Escobar, Livingstone; I’d rather be Columbus in a car

Neil Armstrong and Captain Cook, Juan Perez and James Of Ireland, Sven Hedin; I’d rather be Columbus in a car

Hannu The Navigator, Edmund Fanning, Ernest Shackleton, Edmund, Roald; I’d rather be Columbus in a car. Columbus in a Car. Yeah, yeah.

In a Sat Nav car, you’ll always know where you are. You can call me Christopher; Columbus in a 4x4

Archive - Controlling Crowds

2012-05-14T13:34:00.000+03:00

Controlling Crowds by Archive. I posted this a while ago but it suits well for the elections and the political situation in my country Greece. People are starting to wake up but still..."I'm scared of the controlling crowds...here they come" Lyrics follow:

Why are you so scared and creeping around,
taking photographs all over town,
pictures in the dark that live in the light,
the world is my playground too and I’ll do what I like.
Why are you so scared of falling apart,
intimidating me for falling apart,
stay on your knees with your cross and don’t tell me you know so,
the world is my playground too and I refuse to follow.
Fly with me falling through the night,
fly with me falling out of sight, find me hold me
in your arms,
‘cos I’m scared of their controlling crowds.
keep me calm,
‘cos I’m scared of their controlling crowds.
here they come.

Why are we so obscure and creeping around,
hiding from mirrors and screens all over town,
objects disturbing blinding taking the peace in me,
the world is my kingdom too and I'll feel what I like in me.

Killing my heart I can’t face I can’t face no more, x8

the world is my playground too I can’t feel anymore.
Fly with me falling through the night, fly with me falling out of sight,
find me hold me
in your arms,
‘cos I’m scared of their controlling crowds.
keep me calm,
‘cos I’m scared of their controlling crowds.
here they come.
Why are we so cold and breaking apart,
caught up in this storm just breaking apart,
pictures and colours I loved but don’t see anymore,
the world is my playground too I don’t feel anymore,
why are you so adored,
‘cos I’m scared of their controlling crowds.
here they come.

We are under massive intimidation from the media...with parts of truth, parts of lies and inaccuracies, we are falling apart as a country and they fill us with fear that we will fall apart if we don't do what we "have to do"!

"Why are you so scared of falling apart,
intimidating me for falling apart,
stay on your knees with your cross and don’t tell me you know so,
the world is my playground too and I refuse to follow."

I could just go on for too long...but I'll let you enjoy this one. The world is my playground too...

What a wonderful world - Louis Armstrong

2012-04-23T02:08:00.000+03:00

What a wonderful world by Louis Armstrong. A magnificent song sang by a magnificent voice. Some good old jazz for this time...I chose the video with Louis himself to see that he actually meant it! That wide smile in his face... Listening to that you can see the bright and beatiful side of life...no matter how bad things seem noone can deny that we live in wonderful world. Lyrics follow:

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself
what a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying, "I love you."

I hear babies cry, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world

Oh yeah

ArtieQ - Ber Dat Dat Dat!

2012-04-17T04:11:00.002+03:00

Fresh right from the shelf! From the new album Songs From The Bug 'Utch ArtieQ with Ber Dat Dat Dat! I had a rough day but this one made my night RTQ! Love the rythm and the guitar sound ;) Lyrics follow:

Ber Dat Dat Dat—AD NAUSEUM!
I'm getting out of the habit—Ber Dat Dat Dat!
Doo Doo Doo Doo
Had enough of writing lines
Singin' lyrics here in this song
I'm gonna Ber Dat Dat Dat Dat! from now on.
Dah, dah, dah. I'm gonna Ber Dat Dat Dat! from now on.
Dah, dah, dah. I'm getting out of the habit

What can I say about the lyrics...just "Singin' lyrics here in this song"! Hahaha seems like ArtieQ was tired of writing lyrics so he rocked some music and put some smart lines in there ;). I loved the outcome I hope you do so too! "Dah, dah, dah. I'm gonna Ber Dat Dat Dat! from now on." Enjoy! And don't forget to drop a click if you like ;)

Paradise - Coldplay

2012-04-09T14:07:00.001+03:00

Paradise from Coldplay! Its rainy here today although summer approaches so it felt like Coldplay :P. Life is actually searching for ones personal paradise and nothing should stop us from doing that even when "Life goes on, it gets so heavy". The lyrics follow:

Oooooo
Oooooo

When she was just a girl
She expected the world
But it flew away from her reach
So she ran away in her sleep

And dreamed of para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Every time she closed her eyes

Oooooo
Oooooo

When she was just a girl
She expected the world
But it flew away from her reach
And the bullets catch in her teeth

Life goes on, it gets so heavy
The wheel breaks the butterfly
Every tear a waterfall
In the night, the stormy night
She closed her eyes
In the night the stormy night
Away she'd fly

And dream of para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Oh

She dreamed of para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Oh

La la la-la la-la
La la la-la la-la
La la la-la la-la
La la la

Still lying underneath the stormy skies
She said, oh
I know the sun's set to rise

This could be para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
This could be para-para-paradise
Oh

This could be para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
This could be para-para-paradise
Oh

Oh-oh oooooo

This could be para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Oh

Oooooo
Oooooo
Oooooo
Oooooo

Firestarter - Prodigy

2012-04-02T00:29:00.000+03:00

Firestarter from the Prodigy!!! Superb sound...needs to be heard LOUD! It makes you wanna stand up and jump around! I also like the video very much...that twisted psycho face of Liam Howlett...he really is a firestarter. Here are the lyrics:

I'm the trouble starter,
Punkin' instigator.
I'm the fear addicted,
Danger illustrated.

I'm a firestarter,
Twisted firestarter,
You're a firestarter,
Twisted firestarter.
I'm a firestarter,
Twisted firestarter...

I'm the bitch you hated,
Filth infatuated,
Yeah.
I'm the pain you tasted,
Fell intoxicated.

I'm a firestarter,
Twisted firestarter,
You're a firestarter,
Twisted firestarter.

I'm the self-inflicted
Mine detonator,
Yeah!
I'm the one infected,
Twisted animator.

I'm a firestarter,
Twisted firestarter,
You're a firestarter,
Twisted firestarter.
I'm a firestarter,
Twisted firestarter,
Starter...
Starter...
Starter...

Pay attentions to the stars and stripes on Liam's swetear in the video ;). So who's the firestarter? I'm a firestarter...you're a firstarter...goverments meddling are firestarters... Could be about that...could be just about the twisted mind of Liam :P .I personally think the concept of the song is more of think and you are a firestarter.Whatever the true meaning is only the writer knows... Either way Enjoy! And don't forget to drop a click if you like ;).

Danger illustrated."

Morcheeba - The Music that We Hear (Live)

2012-03-25T22:17:00.000+03:00

A live version of the music that we hear from Morcheeba. I love the slow downtempo beat of the song...and the voice of Skye Edwards is simply magnificent it carries you away... Now that Spring is well established with the change of the time let Morcheeba take us to faraway places...

Lyrics follow:

Sometimes I get up feeling good but greed gets me down,
I try to think about the highs, the freedom we've found,
When the business in your life don't sit with your soul,
And they treat you like a child they need to control.

The music that we make will heal all our mistakes and lead us,
The music that we hear is always standing near to feed us.

We're all gonna rise above all things that we lack,
Good vibrations that we make will come bouncing back.

The music that we make will heal all our mistakes and lead us,
The music that we hear is always standing near to feed us.

The music that we make will heal all our mistakes and lead us,
The music that we hear is always standing near to feed us.

The music that we make will heal all our mistakes and lead us,
The music that we hear is always standing near to feed us.

My favourite part is:

"When the business in your life don't sit with your soul,
And they treat you like a child they need to control."

I get this feeling a lot lately...the boundaries that peopole and society force on you it really feels like "they treat me like a child they need to control". The coming of spring always makes me a bit uneasy :).

The music that we hear is always standing near to feed us.

Enjoy! And don't forget to drop a click if you like ;)

Somebody to Love Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Remix

2012-03-22T22:30:00.001+02:00

Finally got it! I've been searching for it for a while... It's a remix of Somebody to love originally by Jefferson Airplane and part of the soundtrack of the awesome movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas based on the book oh Hunter S. Thomson. I totally reccomend it for anyone who hasn't seen it. It's a psychedelic ode to drugs put in a very clever and funny way. Its' one of my favourite movies I can watch it over and over and still laugh. The character of Raoul Duke is simply unbelievable and the lawyer dr Gonzo...well there are no words for him :). The quote on my profile description is actually from that movie:

"There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die..."

There is a trailer for that from youtube:

There is also another movie based on the same character the journalist Hunter S. Thomson and it's called Where the Buffalo roam. I prefer Johnny Depp though... And because I can go on and on here is the link to the remix song I wanted to post Somebody to love:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isgydq1f7Zc

I'm giving the link because embedding is disabled by youtube I don't know why... The lyrics for the actual Somebody to love lyrics follow:

When the truth is found to be lies
And all the joy within' you dies
Don't you want somebody to love?
Don't you need somebody to love?
Wouldn't you love somebody to love?
You better find somebody to love

When the garden flowers baby are dead, yes and
Your mind, your mind is so full of red
Don't you want somebody to love?
Don't you need somebody to love?
Wouldn't you love somebody to love?
You better find somebody to love

Your eyes, I say your eyes may look like his
Yeah, but in your head, baby, I'm afraid you don't know where it is
Don't you want somebody to love?
Don't you need somebody to love?
Wouldn't you love somebody to love?
You better find somebody to love

Tears are running down and down and down your breast
And your friends, baby they treat you like a guest
Don't you want somebody to love?
Don't you need somebody to love?
Wouldn't you love somebody to love?
You better find somebody to love
I most enjoy the quote from the movie when Raoul Duke opens the trunk of the car and describes what's inside...

"We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can."

Enjoy! And don't forget to drop a click if you like ;)

What Pi sounds like! interesting...

Moby Mistake

2012-03-19T00:13:00.000+02:00

Mistake by Moby! A superb song in "Moby" mood...love the music and the lyrics and the video...The first screen starts by introducing "Moby the little idiot" and "the dog". I really feel like "a little idiot" many times...when I try to go by the rules while everyone around me isn't. Lyrics for the song follow:

Don't speak to me this way
Don't ever let me say
Don't leave me again
Don't leave me again

Oh you never felt this lost before
And the world is closing doors
I never wanted anything more (more)

Oh you never felt this lost before
And the world is closing doors
I never wanted anything more (more)

Don't hurt me this way
Don't touch me this way
Don't hurt me again
Don't hurt me again

Don't hurt me this way
Don't touch me this way
Don't hurt me again
Don't hurt me again

Oh you never felt this lost before
And the world is closing doors
I never wanted anything more (more)

Oh you never felt this lost before
And the world is closing doors
I never wanted anything more (more)

Don't let me make
The same mistake again
Please don't let me make
The same mistake again
Please don't let me make
The same mistake again
Don't let me make
The same mistake again

Oh you never felt this lost before
And the world is closing doors
I never wanted anything more

Oh you never felt this lost before
And the world is closing doors
I never wanted anything more

Don't let me make
The same mistake again
Don't let me make
The same mistake again
Please don't let me make
The same mistake again
Please don't let me make
The same mistake again

It is so typical of human behavior to say "I'll never make the same mistake again" and then go ahead and do it anyway...and regret it again. I guess mistakes are part of the human nature a way to learn and evolve...

And the world is closing doors
I never wanted anything more"

Radiohead - No suprises

2012-03-15T00:03:00.000+02:00

No Surprises by Radiohead I love the kind of fairytale music in this song. The sound that resembles an old music box is used in a brilliant way! Lyrics follow:

A heart that's full up like a landfill
A job that slowly kills you bruises that won't heal
You look so tired, unhappy bring down the government
They don't, they don't speak for us
I'll take a quiet life, a handshake of carbon monoxide

And no alarms and no surprises, no alarms and no surprises
No alarms and no surprises

Silent, silent, this is my final fit my final bellyache with

No alarms and no surprises, no alarms and no surprises
No alarms and no surprises please

Such a pretty house and such a pretty garden

No alarms and no surprises (let me out of here), no alarms and no surprises (let me out of here)
No alarms and no surprises (let me out of here) please

A bit melancholic like most radiohead songs...well a bit more maybe it actually talks about suicide?!? or is it my idea??. Well anyway I think that is futile and it is no solution to any problem no matter how difficult life may seem.. My favourite line is:

"A job that slowly kills you bruises that won't heal"

You have expectations and dreams and then one day you realize you are just a part of the machine and you slowly loose your energy.

I also like "You look so tired, unhappy bring down the government They don't, they don't speak for us" it suits the politicians of my country and many countries I guess well...I hope we'll make it out of this mess.

Well "No alarms and no surprises" for tommorrow. Enjoy! and dont forget to drop a click if you like it ;)
