We finished up MAP Testing today. Though this assessment does not affect a student's Pre-Alg grade, Unit 5 places a significant emphasis on these results when placing students into a Math class for next year.

When finished with MAP testing, students were given an opportunity to work on other school work or complete their Guided Notes for Target 17.1 - Perfect Squares and Square Roots.

We spent the first part of the period reviewing Unit 14, where we practiced graphing lines and solving systems of linear equations graphically. In the second part of the period, we discussed Target 15.2 and solved systems of linear equations using substitution.

HW for Friday - Students were asked to complete 1-2 problems on the back side of the PINK T 15.2 Guided Practice worksheet that was distributed in class today.

We spent the period tying up loose ends and beginning our discussion of Unit 14 - Solving Systems. Today, we focused on T 14.1, graphing linear equations (lines) in the coordinate plane. Students were allowed time to watch the lesson video and complete the guided notes in class. They were also given time to work on the T 14.1 guided practice.

HW for WEDNESDAY - Complete the final page in the PINK packet that was distributed in class. This assignment asks you to develop your own cab company an use a linear equation to model the fee structure for your company.
