The sport calls for teamwork and requires combined efforts of both the horse and the rider. It is a clear demonstration of the horse's athletic ability and the fine horsemanship skills of the rider. You can play virtual barrel horse race games and various other horse racing games like Trainer Tournaments, Betting Tournaments and Jockey Tournaments on online gaming portals.

Of the numerous, different types of horseback riding saddles available in the market; barrel horse race saddle is also one of them. They are a bit different from Western saddles in the sense that their seat is relatively deeper. This helps the rider to maintain balance while making hard turns and also while racing fast. The horn is also taller and upright, which in turn helps the rider to hold onto firmly when turning fast.

A barrel horse race saddle is designed for maximum stability as well as durability. It not only offers a secure ride but also the liberty to run a horse at top speed. All these factors mean more comfort for both the rider and the horse. A typical barrel racing saddle has in-skirt rigging. This enables close contact between the rider and the horse.

In order to keep the barrel horse fit and in top shape, it is essential that he undergoes an appropriate workout regime of barrel horse exercises on a regular basis. Some very common barrel horse exercises for the mind and body include exercises such as spirals, fence arc, figure eights, backing, rollbacks, reverse rollbacks and serpentines. Besides this, caring for your saddles is also very important. Regularly clean and condition the saddle and always keep it dry.

In the beginning, barrel racing events were developed specially for women. While husbands were busy roping or riding bulls, the wives participated in the barrel race. Although the exact date and precise details regarding the developments of barrel racing are not known, it is deemed that the first ever barrel racing competition was held in Texas.

Barrel horse race saddles are exclusively meant for competitions and use during training. These saddles are lightweight, allowing maximum flexibility to the horse so that he can move in tight turns and take long strides. You can find pictures, descriptions as well as online horse racing games featuring barrel horse race saddles on the internet.
If you've never thought about equestrian vacations, then riding a horse on the beach might just be your cup of tea.

And there's no better place than Driftwood Beach on Georgia's Jekyll Island for beach horseback riding.
Victoria's Carriages and Trail Rides offer several trail rides on Jekyll Island at fair prices. All rides are on a per-person basis.

You can experience a one-hour beach ride for $58.00; a 1/2 hour ride for $38.00; a 1 1/2 hour ride for $78.00; when twilight arrives, try their Sunset Ride, which costs $68.00.

You need to be at least 8 years old to ride a horse by yourself (younger kids aren't allowed to double with a parent). There's a weight limit, too. Two hundred forty pounds is the max for horseback riding on the beach.

Your trail ride begins at Jekyll Island's Clam Creek picnic area, on the northern end of the island. Victoria's Carriages and Trail Rides has a horse camp there, under the shade of ancient live oaks adorned with Spanish moss.

The island horses are gentle stock, and you'll have no trouble mounting and following your guide down the trail.

If you're an inexperienced rider, or have never been horseback riding on the beach, rest assured. Victoria's Carriages and Trail Rides will place you on one of their docile island horses, and help you overcome any uncertainty you might have about riding. Before you know it you'll be a semi-accomplished horseman - or woman - or kid!

You'll begin your beach horseback riding adventure at Clam Creek, in the horse base camp across the road from the picnic area. The first leg of your ride is thorough maritime forest, where the sound of the wind through the live oaks, the shuffle of your horse's hoofs along the woodland trail, and the creek of saddle leather will lull you into a peaceful state of harmony with the environment.

Soon, you'll adjust to your horse's gait. Rocking easily to the rhythm of your horse, you'll start to gain confidence. Before long, its as if you've been riding all your life!

After a while, the trail leaves the maritime forest and you'll start riding alongside a virgin salt marsh. Watch for the wood storks roosting in the tree copses, and listen to the song birds hidden in the branches.

Raccoons and deer make their homes in the area. On a soft-walking horse, it's not unusual to walk right up on some of these animals as they move through the marsh grasses and fringe edge environment.

The horse trail winds along, and soon you'll find yourself following your horse's nose out onto Driftwood Beach. Riding along the beach - and enjoying the salty sea breezes and the "boneyard" trees that gives Driftwood Beach its name - may be the most fun leg of the ride.

What are the boneyard trees? They're huge oaks and pines that were undermined by erosion, and have fallen into the sea. Wind and salt water have scrubbed and polished these trees into beautiful driftwood-gray sculptures.

Make sure you bring a camera, and take plenty of pictures of Driftwood Beach. It's one of the most photographed beaches in the United States.

Across St. Simons Sound is the St. Simons lighthouse, another favorite subject for photographers - and a don't miss photo op for you!

All good things come to an end, however. Soon your beach horseback riding adventure is over. Follow your guide across the Clam Creek bridge and back to where you started at the horse camp.

Horseback riding on Jekyll Island's Driftwood Beach can get in your blood. It's good to know that you can always return for another Jekyll Island horseback riding adventure!

To book your horseback ride, call Victoria's Carriages and Trail Rides at 635-9500.
These kind of boots| are similar to other types of riding boots with one primary exception. The boots are created with stiff leather or even a padded interior, at least across the outside edge of the leg, in order to protect the leg from getting hit by a wayward ball during the game.

In terms of any kind of equestrian riding, an excellent solid set of leather boots is a natural part of what is needed. This is true regardless if you are just out for a easygoing ride on horseback, are involved in jumping, galloping, shows or a competitive game of polo. All riding boots are produced from leather, ride up high about the calves (usually just to below the knee), and possess any combination of straps, buckles, laces, or zippers to be able to make them easier to get off and on and to offer a fashionable look.
Most types of boots employed for this purpose are made from black or brown leather, that has a short heel at the bottom so that they can rest comfortably about the stirrups while riding on your horse. In some instances, the interior is padded, and in others there is a leather interior or even a moisture resistant material to keep the feet dry and comfortable while the boot footwear are being worn.

Polo is known as a sport that doesn't need a good deal of equipment apart from the fundamentals such as a horse, the ball that is used throughout the game and the stick used to hit the ball whilst on the horse. But, having a good pair of boots to wear throughout the game is as important as any device because they maintain the rider protected from injury and therefore are an important part of the sport's uniform.

On the subject of Polo Boots
Polo boots for men serve various functions for the rider. They not only help keep the leg in position, but maintain ones foot from slipping dangerously all the way through the stirrups. They also have to protect the lower legs and feet from collisions while remain tough enough to last through all sorts of weather.

Polices
1. According to the International Polo Association, the only real requirements for a polo boot are that it is brown, has a raised heel and doesn't have sharp protrusions like studs.

Accessories
2. Permitted accessories for boots are small, rounded, slightly blunt spurs and knee pads, also referred to as knee guards.

Identification
3. At first glance, a polo boot looks like any form of English pull-on riding boot. However they are brown rather than black and usually have a zipper or Velcro closures to assist get them on and off quickly.

Material
4. Polo boots are almost always made of real leather. So far, leather or man-made leather polo boots haven't caught on.

Factors
5. Polo boots are similar to any boots for the reason that a new one are extremely stiff and need saddle soap and time so as to break them in.

Brief History of Polo
Polo is rooted in historical military training and descends from Asia. The various concepts belonging to the game, as well as the name itself, developed over time and were adapted by a variety of cultures in to the game known today. During the 19th and 20th centuries, it grew to become hugely popular during the British Empire and in due course came to America.(United States Polo Association )
Adults, on the other hand, express how frightened they are even at the idea of being on the back of these marvelous creatures. These tips are for those few brave ones who have finally decided to learn horse riding.

Your first riding lesson
Any coach will vouch for an important lesson of horse riding as the bond that you build with your horse. It is all about how you can show faith in your horse and in return it 'll go as per you. The bonuses of this relationship is the thrill of running against the wind and gallop in the field. Before asking your horse to run faster, it is important to know the nature of your horse as well as how to become its guardian, as these are the most important horseback riding tips for you in your quest to become a acclaimed equestrian.

Lesson # 1: Know your horse
And this doesn't end by just knowing a thing or two about your horse. Your set of very first horseback riding tips shouldn't dwell about riding per se but on the creature that will help you go places - your horse. Learn how to earn his trust.

Then be patient
The riders as opposed to the equestrians is that they need to just learn how to ride. Unfortunately, one of the bitter truths, which is, by the way, also one of the most important horseback riding tips, is that you can't learn to ride your horse in a day. When you are riding keep your cool. You're riding a creature of the wild which is the horse. Any equestrian will tell you that it is the ride that challenged them but how they will express to their horse that it needs to bring them somewhere out there. Staying calm and composed is important even if the horse is pushing you away from the back.

If you can't calm your nerves, chances are your horse will sense it. It 's ok to pretend. Getting up there is one of the biggest challenges that you need to face. Take deep breath. It 's all in the mind ,so think being in control. Keep in mind a very important lesson of horse riding once you have finished that is to always get down from the left side.

Be prepared, that is your third lesson
One important thing to remember is to be mentally prepared before you go to the field. Go fully prepared to the field learning from all the horse riding books you have brought, don't expect to simply learn by the end. The truth is, books that offer horseback riding tips are some of the most important investments that you can make in learning how to become an equestrian. Riding not only includes action but also learning the lessons off and in the field.
A failure to appreciate and understand the basics of horse temperament or riding mechanics can make the experience less than enjoyable. The opposite is just as true, having a genuine interest and respect for the horse and its capabilities coupled with a natural or acquired aptitude for communication and riding techniques then you are likely find horseback riding an exciting and relaxing leisure pursuit. In order to develop effective communication between horse and rider the first and most important aspect is simply TRUST. A trusting relationship developed on the ground (through ground work) enables you to develop an understanding of your horse's attitude, behaviour and demeanour. This work helps to learn whether your horse is is shy and needs encouragement, bold and forward and so requires a confident rider, or are they compliant and so able to follow your direction and leads. One of the major areas to work on whilst on the ground is the area of 'respect for space'. This applies to both the horse's respect for your space and your respect for theirs. Physical touch is a great manner in which to establish a pleasing relationship between the horse and yourself--for example, rubbing the horse's shoulder, back, and head-- then progress to applying pressure to instruct the horse to move into or away from your space. In addition to ground work, riders will benefit greatly from an understanding of horse physiology and mechanics (how they move), I their communication efforts with their horse. Dressage is the art of training the horse through the rider employing a variety of aids such as legs, hands, seat, spurs and whips by which to communicate with the horse via negative and positive reinforcement (comfort and discomfort). For example, applying pressure from your legs urges the horse to move, while placing your legs in a different place tells the horse to hold its position. You can also use your seat to slow the horse or push the horse in one direction or another. Understanding the horse's behaviour ahead of time allows you, as the rider, to anticipate the horse's reactions and conduct. For instance, if a horse normally appears willing and ready to work, but on another day exhibits anger and reluctance, then you should consider that something is wrong--either with the horse or with you, the rider. Anticipating the horse's reactions can help you decipher what aids to use, and how to stay one step ahead of the horse. Riders should remember that horses only do things for to reason; to obtain comfort or avoid pain. This is the primary focus of any training with horses; making the position or situation we want the most comfortable for the horse, and any other reaction that we do not want uncomfortable for the horse. Riders should remember that rather than blame the horse, they should realize that a misbehaving horse is often the result of a rider who is not effectively communicating.

I have trained and bred Arabian horses for over twenty years and have developed my skills through the guidance and philosophies of some of the greatest 'natural horseman' of their day. I have been influenced by such greats as Monty Roberts, Tom Dorrance and Ray Hunt. I only endorse techniques in horse training that comply with the philosophy that 'violence is never the answer'.
The charreras have spent hours and hours refining their drill, climbing back on when they get dumped in the dirt. Many of them are up before the sun to care for their animals. And they all want to come out best in this event that some folks call a "small riot."

Dances on Four Legs
Escaramuza roughly translates to "skirmish," although in real life, the event looks much more like a drill team performing in perfect step than it does a hostile exchange. Watch closely and you'll see the collection of judges that watches every move the team makes and grades them on how well they execute the smallest details. When one team has done, a competing team takes to the arena and attempts to outshine their adversaries. That's the skirmish part - bands of women determined to out-do one another.

Synchronized riding in the Escaramuza involves choreography that is as complex as any ballet. The competitors on each 8-woman team show off their stuff in a routine that includes quick spins, detailed patterns and sudden stops that occasionally unseat even the most skilled rider. Add to that the fact that the riders are mounted sidesaddle, and you have the makings of a thrilling ride.

To be successful, a team that competes in Escaramuza must learn total togetherness - in their costumes, horses, skills, and tricks. The embroidery and detailing on each woman's blouse and skirt is just like her teammates'; her boots are the same; she wears the same jewelry as the others. Heck, on many teams, the women style their hair alike.
And what do the most comfortable saddles have beneath them? High quality numnahs. For those who love riding horses and have to spend a considerable part of the day on horseback, the importance of having a good numnah cannot be overemphasized. No matter what your favourite equestrian activity is - hacking, dressage, eventing, hunting, endurance, racing, or western - a well-designed and well-fitting numnah will make a world of difference to your ride.

There are quite a few excellent online specialty stores that manufacture and sell high-quality saddlepads or numnahs for saddles of every conceivable kind. Employing fine craftsmanship and a wide range of attractive yet durable materials, these saddlepads and numnahs provide excellent value for money and last very long. Of course, there are inferior varieties available as well and you need to be careful about who you buy them from.
Here's a quick checklist to help you find the best numnah for your horse.

1.Check for how well the numnah fits the saddle. It should be of the right shape for the saddle flap
2.Check the thickness of the numnah. Extra thickness may get in the way of a good fit
3.The numnah should match the saddle size
4.Find out how easy it is to clean the saddlepad. A numnah that can be machine washed can save a lot of trouble in the future
5.The numnah must conform to all existing guidelines and specifications for the discipline you are competing in
While shopping online, check the credentials of the seller before you decide to make the purchase. Check their range of products and talk to other horse owners if possible. It is also important to choose the correct numnah for the best results. After all, you wouldn't want to subject your animal or yourself to a bumpy, uncomfortable ride by fitting an ill-fitting or inappropriate numnah.

Most often, the choice is guided by your specific equestrian activity. Remember, it is vital that a horse's saddle fits well, and it is crucial to a horse's comfort to have a correctly fitting numnah or saddlepad to work with your saddle.

The old fashioned velvet-covered caps may have looked charming, but they did absolutely nothing to protect against head injuries. Many novice riders avoid donning their helmet until just before mounting and that can be a major mistake since 20 percent of all horse-related injuries occur on the ground.

Falls while jumping or when a horse spooks are common. Other preventable head injuries occur when a horse throws its head against yours in gladness at your arrival, when a horse kicks or starts an altercation with another horse, and when a person is 'bumped' by a horse into a wall, fence, or vehicle. As large and powerful as horses are, it doesn't take much for them to become dangerous, even when it is not their intention!

The United States Equestrian Federation & Barn Regulations

The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is the governing body that determines the dress and other requirements for hunter, jumper, hunt seat equitation, dressage, and other equine competitions. Currently, all riders must wear an ASTM/SEI certified helmet when competing in hunt seat equitation, hunter, jumper, hunter hack, and any other classes that involve jumping. All riders under the age of 18 must wear am ASTM/SEI approved helmet in any hunt seat discipline. While not always required, helmets are permitted as optional headgear at all sanctioned horse shows.

Cross-country riders are required to wear approved helmets and safety vests, due to the rugged nature of their sport. Nearly all sanctioned endurance-riding events require an approved helmet. Riding helmets are now even worn in some dressage classes. Although this is not required, it is certainly safer. Most barns require the use of an approved helmet whenever a person rides a horse, both for safety and insurance reasons.

Certified Safe

For a helmet to become ASTM/SEI certified, it must pass rigorous tests designed by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and conducted by the Safety Equipment Institute (SEI). Approved helmets exhibit an ASTM F-1163-04/SEI certification sticker.

Approved helmets are made from a hard plastic or rosin shell and offer substantial padding on the inside and an attached, adjustable harness to provide a secure, safe, and comfortable fit. Many helmets today feature a sun visor and ventilation strips. Moisture-wicking materials make these helmets far more comfortable. For anyone who intends to ride horses, an ASTM/SEI approved helmet is a necessity.

Finding The Right Fit

Sizing a helmet is simply a matter of measuring the circumference of the widest part of your head, at the forehead level. Sizing charts are available online, using metric and standard measurements, to provide riders with a well-fitting riding helmet. Of course, a riding helmet must fit properly to be effective. Too loose, and it can cause more harm than it will prevent. Too tight and, well, that one's pretty obvious!

Choosing The Right Style

The style of helmet selected depends largely upon the style of riding being done. If the more rugged and risky forms of riding are to be pursued, a heavier duty, better protecting helmet is called for. In the show ring, style must be combined with function to maintain the required image of form and elegance. Whichever direction you intend to go with your riding activities, the crucial point is to wear a properly fitting, ASTM/SEI approved helmet whenever you are working around horses. Bicycle helmets simply will not provide adequate protection.

Fun And Fashion

Horseback riding isn't just about skill. It's also about looking good. English riding, in particular, features a sleek, elegant appearance, whereas cross-country riders enjoy adding a little color to their ensemble with a matching helmet cover to go with their riding shirt, and sometimes they even have boots to match! Some new helmet cover product lines offer colorful, removable strips that can be used to decorate the ventilation strip of a helmet while still allowing the much-needed ventilation.

A plastic helmet cover can also protect your helmet from dust, mud, and rain. Each riding event will have many of its own rules and regulations regarding your riding helmet and helmet cover. Be sure to read the rules carefully to avoid becoming disqualified for something as simple as the wrong color helmet.

Riders can look and feel good while staying safe with the careful selection of a certified riding helmet and a few fun helmet covers, just because you can!
We want the best for them, and we want them to grow up to be happy, successful, responsible, caring, and contributing members of society. And through our kids, we learn more about our own value system, as we try to teach them life's little lessons.

Our girls decided they wanted to try horseback riding. Both my wife and I have ridden horses on many previous occasions, but this was an entirely different experience as we started to view the activity as parents, and through the eyes of our children. We quickly realized the actual riding is only a small part of the overall activity. It is all things equestrian. Its the horses, the environment, the gear, the learning process, the friendships, the events, etc. So we decided it might be fun to document and share what we learn with our kids over the course of time.

We are still a bit mystified why our kids took to it so immediately, but the benefits were evident very quickly. Horse kids gain an incredible amount of confidence, as they learn to handle, control, and get repeatable responses out of an animal many times their size. Even just the process of getting the saddle on, getting the reigns over the horse's head, and the bit in the mouth can be challenging, particularly for kids, but accomplishing it even just once is a huge confidence booster. Confidence continues to grow as they learn the subtleties of walking, jogging, loping, turning, and stopping the horse. We have found that by finding one thing to help your child gain confidence with, the spillover into other areas of their life is very evident.

Just as importantly, horse kids learn responsibility - grooming, feeding, and exercising what is essentially a large pet for them, along with maintaining the stall, looking after them when they are sick or injured, etc., is an immense responsibility, and they just seem to step up and do it, because for them, its not learning life's lessons, its just plain fun. While on one hand I'm not anxious for my kids to grow up any faster than necessary, given growing up is inevitable, we may as well make the learning and growing process as fun as possible, and being responsible is obviously a core attribute to develop.

There are many other less obvious, but equally valuable benefits. Obviously riding is not like playing a sport like tennis, or soccer, or basketball. But it is physical activity, and the riding time on the horse helps improve coordination, balance, and core strength. Even when they are not riding, we've found the kids are constantly active around the barn area, making new friends, visiting other horses, helping out with chores, etc. It sure beats having them sitting in front of a TV, or off with friends getting into trouble.

The only downside we've identified thus far is that there is a learning curve you have to go through as parents, right along with your kids. Terminology, horse anatomy, riding gear, barn talk, competitions and events, ....you name it. Not quite as challenging as a foreign language, but you get the idea. Horse kids just seem to absorb it all so quickly, while we adults end up learning from them, at what certainly feels like a much slower rate. Bottom line is that as a result of the benefits of horseback riding for our children, we have become advocates of horse kids. If you find a better way than horseback riding for kids to develop confidence and responsibility, and have this much fun doing it, you should definitely jump on it - it will pay dividends.

Local Horseback Packages include Dinner, Lunch and Breakfast. Trail ride times can range from one to five hours long and include Complimentary Hotel Pick-up & Drop-off.

Trails are located inside the Red Rock National Conservation Area and provide some of the most breathtaking views nature has to offer.

Most horseback trails are not open to the more than one million people who visit every year. You can access these trails through a local Las Vegas Horseback Tour Operator.

"This keeps the impact on the environment to a minimum" Ruben Villegas said. These popular Ecotourism rides provide a very unique bond with nature, especially if you come across the wild horses of Nevada.

Local Horseback Operators are open year round. There are many specials and discounts available online. There are a variety of rides to choose from. Group packages and other experiences are available on request.
These professionals are responsible for teaching children and adults how to ride horses, from baby-beginner levels to advanced instruction. Of course, in order to become a horseback riding instructor, there are a few things you must do to guarantee success.

1- Get Educated
It isn't enough to know how to ride - you must also know how to teach. Read books about riding instruction, visit web sites dedicated to this profession, and obtain certification in the riding discipline you want to teach. In order to be a successful horseback riding instructor, you must be capable of breaking down complex concepts into easy-to-understand pieces. For example, can you explain the posting trot to someone who has never trotted a horse before? If so, you might be an instructor in the making.

Your education will also help you determine what type of horseback riding instructor you'll be. Some instructors do better with baby beginner students, while others can only work with advanced riders. Generally speaking, you should only be working with students who have not yet reached your level of expertise. Once they surpass their instructor, they should move on to someone else.

2- Request an Apprenticeship
Although there are currently no formal apprenticeships for horseback riding instructors, you can do this the informal way and team up with a veteran teacher for a few months. Sit in on lessons, help as ground crew, and take over segments of the lessons to get the feel for how it works. A great instructor learns from the masters of his or her trade, and takes pointers from those who have succeeded in the past.

When you take an apprenticeship, however, make sure you're working with a horseback riding instructor who teaches the same discipline in which you later want to work. For instance, if you feel most comfortable teaching western pleasure, apprentice with an instructor who specializes in that discipline. The same goes for jumping, dressage, reining, cutting, saddleseat, and any other equestrian discipline.

3- Learn Proper Safety Techniques
Horseback riding is a dangerous spot, so all horseback riding instructors should know CPR, First Aid, and should be able to respond quickly and effectively in a crisis. What if one of your students takes a bad fall? What will you do if a horse becomes injured? How should students behave while mounted? These are all things you need to know if you want to be effective in this profession.

You should also realize that horseback riding instructors learn these techniques as they go. You won't pick it up right away, but you'll continue to learn how to handle safety issues. Until you've got it down pat, however, don't teach riding lessons unless someone else is at the barn to assist in case of an emergency.

4- Find a Stable
Most horseback riding instructors don't have the cash to open up their own equestrian centers right away, so you'll have to find barn owners who will allow you to teach on their property. This can be set up either as an employer - employee relationship, or as an independent contractor. Either way, you'll have to split your earnings in some fashion because you're using someone else's facility.

5- Continue Your Education
Horseback riding instructors don't just stop learning once they achieve the title. Instead, they continue to broaden their horizons as they gain more experience. Taking classics, clinics and seminars can make you a better instructor, and will keep you abreast of the latest trends and developments in the industry. New techniques and tips arise every day, so don't assume that you can just quit once you have a loyal clientèle.
Many children and teens are fascinated with horses and horseback riding. Attending a horseback riding camp will give them a basic knowledge of horses and riding as well as an interesting summer camp destination.

While the focus of horseback riding camps is, obviously, riding horses, these camps also teach other important factors of horse ownership and care. During their camp time, campers will learn about the different types of tack used to ride or drive a horse. Camp attendees will also learn how to clean and care for tack. Also offered at horse riding camps are sessions on proper horse care. During these sessions, campers will be taught how to feed, water and groom a horse. Some camps ever offer classes in equine anatomy, perfect for children who think they may want to become a veterinarian.

When choosing a horseback riding camp, you must first decide which style of riding your child wants to learn. The main riding styles are western and English. Western riding is generally associated with cowboys, ranches, and rodeos. Popular western riding activities include trail riding and barrel racing. Western saddles were designed with the comfort and security of the rider in mind, so it has a higher seat back (cantle) and front (pommel) so riders feel secure while on the horse. English riding, on the other hand, generally focuses on jumping, racing and horsemanship. This style of riding requires the horse and rider both to have more freedom of movement, so these saddles don't provide as much support and security as does a Western style saddle. If your child is a first time rider, they might want to consider a Western riding camp.

Horseback riding camps generally offer lessons for experienced riders as well as those who have never been on a horse before. Experienced riders will generally be placed in a class they will find challenging while beginning riders will begin by learning the basics of how to properly mount and sit on a horse. Riders with little riding experience are paired with an older, gentler animal while those with more experience ride the younger more spirited animals.

In addition to riding lessons, some horseback riding camps also offer classes in driving miniature horses. In these classes students learn to control the horse as they ride in a small cart pulled by the animal. Another popular horseback activity is vaulting. Simply put, vaulting is gymnastics on horseback. For this sport, horses with large, flat backs are lunged, or driven, in a circle while students perform gymnastic tricks on their backs. Although this sport may sound dangerous and difficult, students generally find it is easier than it sounds.

For horse lovers, horseback riding camp can be a great way to spend at least part of the summer. In the course of these camps, campers can learn the basics of riding or improve their riding skills. They will also learn important horse care issues such as horse health and anatomy. These riding camps can be a great source of fun and experience with horses.
