Walk around ... what an event!!?

Walk around - a fund raising event for my Son's school. I have been going to this event for many years now. I find this event very interesting year after year.

Some interesting things...

- Kids are so energetic and walking without realizing they are making money for the school. They walk ... run ... play ... just have fun.

- The principal of school (Mr. Woo) carries around a video camera and shoot this event. Addition to the fund raiser he would sell the video and make money for the school.

- Teachers walk around & support kids. In fact, my son's teacher sponsored the kids $5 for every student. Thats big!

- School sends a letter to old students. Old students come & meet with each other & volunteer for this event. They love to see their old class mates and hang out.

- Parents meet with each other. They walk around... they can sponsor their walk and make money for the school.

- Parents contribute drinks, fruits and food. School sells them to the parents.

- Parents volunteer their time to support this event... they do face painting, henna, game events, little music performance and many more...

Over all, a great event... many & many great things happen... Simply love this! Thanks everyone who make this a great event year after year.

unusual movie day...

This is very first time and unusual at my home! Perhaps this may be usual for others with teens at home!

My son & I went to Monsters vs Aliens 3D yesterday (04/19/2009). Why? Well... my daughter did not want to go to this movie as this is a kid movie. She wanted to go to17 again! and only with her school friends at different shows as she had to coordinate time for her friend.

Perhaps you got the picture! How much tensions this situation would have created...

My son started... he wanted to go with his class mates. he didn't want to just go alone with us. Well, I have to change as his class mate to take him for the movie.

My wife has to stay with my daughter at home to drive her to the movie hall at a different time.

This seriously reminded me this blog... Do you live your life?.

ratatouille & an unknown dessert!

My daughter made ratatouille & and an "unknown" dessert for her school project (French)! And she video tapped an interview. It was funny! We had to say good thing about the dishes.

She really made a great Ratatouille. "It was an awesome dish! make more of these!"

But the funny part was the "Unknown" desert. I said that "it was something different... I wasn't expecting that!" She switched the tape off and said... "appa! what was that?!!!!" She wasn't expecting a comment like that and I wasn't expecting dessert like that!... She wanted to re-tape... nah!

Well, I thought it was yogurt and fruits... but it was melted cheese and fruits! Hmmm... My taste buds were not prepared for that! Yet, I finished the whole thing that she gave me... It was different!
