First Impressions

The phone is a masterpeice Of Craftmenship.the Phone is shiny Sleek and nice to hold.The.phone feels light in hand and the grip is strong enough so that the device does not slip from you hands. The phone has the latest OS 7.1 and the software seems snappy and cool in the forst use. The added touch screen adds a new tinch of excitedness to the Blackberry, Which feels nice considering the fact that the blackberries are mostly qwerty devices

Design

The phone is nicely designed following the footprints of its predecessor the 9790 . The phone also has an added touchscreen as well as a New metallic desogn, addong premium feel to the phone . The phone has rhe same qwerty keyboard blackberries aew known for, The dimensions of phone are 115 x 66 x 10.5 mm, and it weights 130gm.It has a TFT capacitive touchscreen having 16M colors.The Screen size is 2.8 inches and has resolution of 640 x 480 pixels with pixel density 286 ppi which makes it hard to distinguish between pixels. The phone is well designed and is truly a masterpiece of Craftmenship.

User Interface

The phone comes preloaded woth BBOS 7.1 which is optimised for touch screen phones . The phone is crisp to use amd the interface seems polished for the touch experienxe. The home screen consists of pannels which can be customised as per user's needs. Other than that the OS is inspired from its predecessor the OS 6 .The various needs like Music player , camera video player are thouroghly paid attention to . The musoc amd video plater supported almost all of the video formats we tried and the amazing sct reen made it a treat to watch them on it,Moving around web pages, scrolling through lists and navigating menus are all tasks made fluid thanks to the perfect way the touchscreen tracks your motion and the display shows it back to you.

Calling and Contacts

Setting up contacts was a bliss on the Bold 9900,The phone took all contacts from a vcf file and also fetched Facebook profile pictures and latest status updates from my Facebook friends,Thanks to the Facebook integration s within the OS.Theear Calling on the phone was a pleasure to use,the phone felt solid while holding it close to the ear reception quality was a very good as well as transmission was well performing and lived upto the benchmarks set up by its predecessors.

Messaging

Since It is a Blackberry there is a high expectation from it on the messaging part as Blackberries are best known for it and this is no exception and lives upto the benchmarks set up by its predecessors.You can jump straight into a single folder containing messages from all your social networks, email accounts and navigating between them is a breeze

Games and Apps

Most the apps that are required for the user comes built in , and even if you want more.The blackberry App world always stands there for rescue You will find almost any app possible there.Various apps like Facebook,Twitter,BBM,Wikitude come built in .However you will need a BIS plan for using the Facebook ,twitter and Blackberry Maps
Various titles like Asphalt 6,Brain challenge come free on the App world but the graphic quality for these games are not at par.But we may leave that for the user as most of the BlackBerry users are not much into Gaming.

Battery Life

The phone on a full charge lasted on a day and a half after that it started showing the low battery sign.The phone had BBM on, with almost constant checking every 30 minutes.Push mail on,2 hours of web browsing and a couples of hours of Music on headphones.Overall for a smartphone this battery life is acceptable and I would appreciate RIM for the Battery life of the Phone.

Conclusion

The phone is great piece of technology, and is a must buy for you If you are a Blackberry Fan or much into messaging and mailing on the Go. As they say the BlackBerry is to "Get things done" and the device completely lives upto that statement

With the launch of he new Office Suite by Microsoft We decided to put it on test . The test included Sending an e Mail to a gmail account Which was synchronized both on Blackberry Playbook as well as Microsoft Outlook 2013

The Playbook has the Blackberry name which is famous for the eMail services and Microsoft Outlook 2013 is the newest version of the Highly popular Office suite by Microsoft , We expected the Blackberry to do better but Outlook was faster by a fraction of seconds all the three time we did the test , But on the darker side The Outlook had problems while showing links and did not downloaded any of the images , It just showed the text files .

The new update brings ability to use the front camera of your Android device and also brings other additions like ability to see who is online and switching between messages is easier now.You can now also share bigger photos with your friends

The new update is only available for devices above Android 2.2 and if you use a device running an Android version 2.1 or below You wont be able to download the update

In the series of updates in the Windows Phone OS devices following the Lumia devices and the Dell Venue Pro The Korean mobile giant`s Omnia W has received the tango update.

Windows Phone Tango brings enhanced multitasking according to which 8 Apps can be run at the same time . The update for Omnia W does not bring WiFi Sharing unlike the Lumia devices but it adds features like adding media files in MMS and exporting and importing contacts to and from the Phone

You must have got the notification if you have been using a Omnia W device but if not check the Zune software to update it

Flash Player to be Removed from play store from 15 August

Adobe has today announced that it will remove the Flash Player application for Andorid from the Google Play Store
Earlier this year they have announced that they will stop developing for Androiod and due to this Android 4.1 Ships without Flash support as we can see with the new Nexus 7 Tablet
Adobe is also urging users to remove Flash Player before upgrading to Android 4.1 as it will not work properly moreover If you do not have Flash installed on your device you will stop seeing the Download option after August 15 however if you have Flash on you Android device then you will get support and minor bug fixes after 15 August too

Google today at I/O announced a new Android Tablet the Nexus 7 which is the company`s First Android Tablet and is ready to shake the Android Tablet market as the company has decided to ship it for Just $199 that is just set to eye the Kindle Fire and since it is a Google made Tablet it is expected to sale like Hot cakes.The hardware is made by Asus

We told you earlier that a Google tab is going to be launched in Q2 and here it is.The tablet can be pre ordered from USA, UK, Canada and Australia starting mid july.The tablet will be sold through the Play store just like the Galaxy Nexus

Nokia has announced that it will be undergoing Job cuts and factory closures to save itself from the ongoing crisis it has been undergoing . To overcome this Nokia has decided to perform 10,000 strong global job cuts .Out of which 3,700 of the total will be from the Homeland of the Company ,Finland
We heard Earlier that Salo will lose 1000 jobs but all this sudden change is due to the latest Financial reports of the company which report huge losses

Besides this Nokia also plans to shut down facilities in Salo, Ulm and Burnaby to prevent itself from being sold off .The Finns will also sell off their luxury phone brand, Vertu, to a Sweden based private equity firm EQT VI.
The cost reduction techniques are a try by the Finns to get back the company back into profit .
