for a Marie Curie Fellowship.

Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM), an Italian leading research centre devoted to the
study of sustainable development and global governance, welcomes Marie Curie Individual
Fellowship applications in the field of economics and the environment.

In particular FEEM is seeking 2-3 Marie Curie Fellow candidates to pursue research in the
areas of disaster risk reduction, natural hazards’ economic and social impact assessment, and
vulnerability/resilience to natural disasters and climate change.
Applicants should have:
- a PhD degree in environmental or natural resource economics, environmental
management or research experience of more than 4 years in relevant areas of
environmental or ecological economics,
- strong analytical and diagnostic skills, and ability to conduct research independently,
- publication record proportional to their research experience,
- previous experience from international research projects would be a strong asset.
Marie Curie opportunities vary according to the country of residence:
- researchers from a Member State or Associated Country may opt for an Intra-European
Fellowship for Career Development (IEF)
- researchers from third countries may opt for an International Incoming Fellowship (IIF).
Female researchers and candidates from International Cooperation Partner Countries (ICPC)
are particularly encouraged to apply.
Promising candidates will be actively helped and assisted in developing project proposals for
the Marie Curie Individual Fellowships within the EC FP7 People Program.
Selected candidates will be offered paid short visiting positions at the FEEM office in
Venice for June-July 2010. During this period, the candidates will prepare/submit the Marie
Curie Proposals under the supervision of the FEEM senior researchers.
The successful Marie Curie fellows will be associated within the cluster of EC research projects
dealing with climate adaptation, natural hazard management and vulnerability assessment.
FEEM will offer a truly international and multi-disciplinary workplace. The strong ties with a
world-wide network of research institutions engaged in environmental research will allow a
continuous fruitful exchange of experience.

Desired Qualifications:

Under the supervision of the Office Director, researchers will design and manage complex research assignments, both
within the office and in conjunction with other CPI offices worldwide. Researchers will demonstrate exceptional
quantitative skills, a proven interest in climate change/ clean technology research, written and oral communication skills,
and an ability to generate actionable rather than academic insights.
This position will work on projects of both national and international scope. Researchers will work in a challenging
environment that requires detail‐oriented, independent work, quick thinking, and professional interactions.
Successful candidates will be expected to pursue robust and careful quantitative analysis. Methodological approaches may
include game‐theoretical analysis of incentive effects, finance, public economics and taxation, dynamic modelling of
consumer and firm decisions, including empirical calibration and testing, and applied micro‐economics and applied
econometrics. Their track record of publications should reflect their level of experience.
To facilitate international learning and identification of best practice, the work will be pursued in close cooperation with CPI
teams in other parts of the world, and in close discussion with stakeholders from policy, finance and corporate world.
Previous experience with climate policy, carbon markets and regulation would be valuable.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Overview:

Over the past decade, the Bank’s external Web site — www.worldbank.org — has dramatically changed the institution’s ability to reach out to the development community. The site provides nearly two million visitors a month with timely information and serves as a symbol of the institution’s transparency and willingness to work with clients around the world. It is the Bank’s most important tool for sharing knowledge, communicating our activities, and demonstrating our effectiveness to the world. Improving the quality and presentation of information on our site is critical to fulfill the Bank’s development and communications goals.

The Environment Department is looking for a consultant to serve as Web Editor for the external websites www.worldbank.org/environment and www.worldbank.org/climatechange and provide support in managing internal web-based outreach. This position requires knowledge of development and poverty reduction issues as they relate to issues including Climate Change, Biodiversity, Coastal and Marine Management and Environmental Health. The candidate should have the ability to conceptualize and execute complex editorial activities, have a proven eye for design and detail, be results-oriented, and capable of managing conflicting priorities while working with a diverse set of colleagues.

Responsibilities:

The Environment Department Web Topic Editor will:

1. Report to the Senior Knowledge Management Officer of the Environment Department (or other staff member designated by the Director or Senior Manager) and liaise with relevant staff (Environment Department Management and subject experts, SDN Anchor Communications Team, EXT Web Program, Knowledge Management, and IT) and external clients and partners as necessary, to ensure that relevant information is captured and surfaced, where appropriate.

2. Undertake an inventory of existing content and user-profile analysis and assist in the drafting of a sustainable, strategic action plan for the development and maintenance of the above-cited websites in support of the World Bank’s / Environment Department’s communications objectives (the action plan should be grounded in a baseline user profile analysis, and include hard targets to be reached, and a robust monitoring and reporting component).

Background:

The International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP) is a principle biennial congress on AIDS in the region. It is convened by the AIDS Society of Asia and the Pacific (ASAP) and it has played a key role in building commitment and networks in the struggle against HIV and AIDS in Asia and the Pacific region for over fifteen years. UNAIDS is the Joint United Nations Programme on AIDS and is one of the main Co Sponsors of the 9th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP).

Indonesia has been successfully selected as the host of the 9th ICAAP by ASAP, which will take place from 9 – 13 August 2009 in Nusa Dua, Bali. The theme of the 9th ICAAP is “Empowering People; Strengthening Networks.” It underscores a movement for change and highlights the importance of inclusiveness and participative engagement in the Asia Pacific region’s response to HIV and AIDS.

A Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has been established by a consortium of Indonesian AIDS activists to ensure a smooth operation of the organization, management, implementation and reporting of the 9th ICAAP. ASAP has also formed an International Advisory Committee (IAC) to provide guidance and assistance to the LOC and ensure that the goals of ICAAP are fully realized during the implementation of the Congress.

The LOC realizes that the responsibility for the organization, administration, implementation and hosting of the 9th ICAAP is a major undertaking and will require support by stakeholders at all levels—international, national and local. This is reflected in the organization of the committees and the sub-committees within the LOC which is working to ensure broad representation, interacting not only with academics or government departments but also reaching out to include the civil society and groups working with young people, women groups, faith based organizations, marginalized population such as injecting drug users, sex workers, LGBT and organizations of people living with HIV (PLHIV).

A full time secretariat is needed to support and assist the LOC in administering and coordinating the preparation for and implementation of the 9th ICAAP. With support from various partners, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the 9th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP) is recruiting three (3) positions:

General Description of Role :

The Personnel and Administration Manager is responsible for human resources (personnel), logistics, and office operations functions for the project including the establishment, operation and upkeep of office facilities and administrative project support functions.

1. Manage day-to-day operation of the SERASI office in Jakarta in support of administrative and project operations;
