All new 2013 Audi R8

The whole R8 series has gone through an evolution on the outside and revolution on the inside. The idea behind the new makeover is to make the former R8 even more beautiful, powerful, aggressive and exhilarating to drive. The face-lifted Audi R8 Plus has been officially revealed on the web and it is going to be the successor of former Audi R8 series. Yeah, You heard it right. Audi did a remarkable job with designing and that is why the all new 2013 Audi R8 is more attractive as well as dynamic. R8 V10 Plus (550hp) is going to be the top model in the current Audi R8 lineup.

Refreshed 7-speed S-Tronic transmission has been placed under the hood. Renovated LED headlights and LED rear lights are equipped with dynamicized display and this feature will come as standard in all Audi R8 variants.
Talking about the exteriors,
2013 Audi R8 Plus is 14.44 ft long, 6.23 ft wide and 4.10 ft high (4.07 ft in case of Spyder). Dynamic lines
have been well laid as well detailed. The single frame grill comes in high gloss black finish and it has horizontal chrome inserts in V10 variant. Air inlets, at the front bumper, have gone through minor changes. Extensive use of LEDs can bee seen as headlights are now full LED and there are different LED layers in Headlight for High as well as Low beam. In order to make it as lighter as possible, certain parts of the new Audi R8 are exclusively made from Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) like the splitter at the front bumper, side mirrors, linings on the engine etc.
LED lights at the back of R8 Plus are equipped with next generation LED technology like dynamic display.
Indicator Lights in Dynamic display proceeds in the side-ward direction i.e. the direction in which driver wants to take a turn. The larger rear diffuser made up of CFRP comes as standard in Audi R8 V10 Plus. The all new Audi R8 plus comes in 11 Shades in which there are two solid colors i.e Ibis White and Brilliant Red, Five pearl effect shades and four metallic shades. Matt color effect is exclusively available for Audi R8 V10 variants only. The Frame of Audi R8 Plus (Audi Space Frame also known as ASF) weighs only
462.97-476.20 lbs depending on Coupe or Spyder variants. The Unladen weight of Audi R8 V8 Coupe is 3439.21 lbs plus and Audi R8 V10 Plus is 3461.26 lb. Spyder variants are heavier by 220 lbs.

Talking about the Performance,
Audi R8 V8 Coupe with its 4.2 FSI engine churns out max. power of 430 hp @ 7900 rpm and a peak torque of 317.15 lb-ft @ 4500-6500 rpm. Audi R8 V8 Plus shoots from 0-100 Km/h (0-60 mph) within 4.3 seconds and it's top speed is limited at 300 km/h. It is also able to give 18.97 US mpg.
The V10 Plus Variant unleashes a max. power of 550 hp @ 8000 rpm and a peak torque of 398.28 lb-ft @ 6500 rpm. Audi R8 V10 Plus Coupe shoots from 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) within 3.5 seconds and its top speed is limited at 317 km/h. It is also able to give 15.79 US mpg.
Standard wheels of dimensions 8.5 J x 18 at the front and 10.5 J x 18 at the rear have been equipped in the the Audi R8 V8 . Tyre sizes for V8 plus version are 235/40 at front and 285/35 at rear. The V10 plus version comes with 19-inch wheels as standard (tyre size 235/35/front and 295/30/ rear).
Interiors are almost same with several options for leather upholstery as well as inlays.

As promised by the Audi India during Auto Expo 2012, here comes the newest and youngest member of Audi India family. Let me introduce to you, The one and only Audi Q3. The tagline that has been assigned to this specific SUV is "START YOUNG". As the Tagline clearly specifies, Audi Q3 is young, agile and sporty which makes it to target the young generation. The base version of Audi Q3 with 2.0 TDI engine specification has been priced at Rs. 26,21,000* and the high line version has been priced at Rs. 31,49,000*.

Audi Q3 launch in India

Talking about the technical specifications of Audi Q3, the high end 2.0 L TDI version generates a max. power of 174 bhp @ 4200 rpm and peak torque of 280 lb-ft @ 1750-2500 rpm. Audi Q3 shoots from 0-100 km/hr within 8.2 seconds while max speed of Audi Q3 is 212 Km/hr. Audi Q3 has a 7-speed Automatic transmission. Audi Quattro (Audi's permanent All wheel drive system) comes as standard in all versions of Audi Q3.

Michael Perschke (MD, Audi India) launching Audi A4 facelift in India

Finally, the moment came and Audi India launched the whole new 2013 Audi A4 facelift just a few hours ago. It may be a game changer for Audi as Audi A4 is the most selling Audi Vehicle in Indian Automotive Market. Recently Audi India outranked the Mercedes-Benz in sales figure to become the #2 Luxury car company in India. This car will compete with BMW 3 series and Mercedes-Benz C-class. As soon as BMW heard about the launch of face-lifted Audi A4 in India, it made a statement that the new 3 series (F350) will be launched in India in the month June to toughen up the competition.

2013 Audi A4 facelift launch in India

Talking about the exteriors,
The 2013 Audi A4 facelift has got detailed styling and dynamic sharp lines. Major changes include the whole new hexagonal front grill, Xenon lamps with Homogeneous Day Time Running LEDs (DRLs), Trapezoid- shape fog lamps, revitalized bumper. The change that has been loved by most Indians is the artistically redefined LED tail lamps. Rear bumper has also gone through some minor changes.

Talking about the interiors,
2013 Audi A4 facelift in India has gone through minor visible changes but there are a lot of changes at machine level that have been introduced in the whole new 2013 Audi A4 facelift. Some of the visible changes in the interiors of Audi A4 facelift include, Four spoke steering wheel that is quite appealing, redefined gear changing knob, High quality dashboard and Next generation Audi MMI (Multimedia Interface).

2013 Audi A4 launch in India

2013 Audi A4 with 1.8T engine configuration is able to generate a max. power of 170 hp and a peak torque of 236 lb-ft. According to ARAI, the 2013 Audi A4 1.8 T has a fuel economy figure of 15.6 Kmpl. 2.0 TDI engine of 2013 Audi A4 is able to generate a max power of 211 hp and has a fuel economy figure of 16.5 Kmpl. The high end V6 3.0 TDI engine specification is able to generate a peak power of 333 hp, which makes it a really tough car to be critiqued.
I must say that it is the high time for BMW and Mercedes-Benz to come up with new strategies because if they do not take any action then within no time Audi will be the No. 1 Luxury car company in India. Anyways, that is a good news for me and Audi enthusiasts around the globe.

Audi India has recently inaugurated its state of art showroom in the city of Coimbatore. It is first Audi showroom in Coimbatore and second in Tamil Nadu. Audi Coimbatore is spread over a total area of 6,102 sq. ft. The Showroom's main display area has a capacity to accommodate upto 6 cars at a time for the display. Next to the display area is Audi exclusive shop from where Audi customers can buy accessories and their favorite Audi merchandise. Audi India car lineup at Audi Coimbatore includes Audi A4, A6, A7, A8L, Q5, Q7, RS5, R8, R8 Spyder and TT. Audi Q3 will be available from June 2012.
