O "mármore azul" imagem da Terra tirada pela tripulação da Apollo 17 em 1972 é uma das fotos mais famosas já feitas. Quando ela foi apresentada ao público, de repente vimos o mundo de uma maneira muito diferente. De tempos em tempos a NASA tem acrescentado outros "mármores azuis" para sua coleção, e tem usado a tecnologia para melhorar e aperfeiçoar as imagens. Recentemente a agência espacial revelou o que está chamando a "imagem de alta definição mais surpreendentes da terra -. mármore azul 2012" esta foi feita com instrumento VIIRS a bordo, do satélite de observação da terra lançado mais recentemente, Suomi NPP. Ela foi criada através de uma composição de faixas imageadas da superfície da terra e foi adquirida em 04 de janeiro de 2012 . A imagem em altíssima resolução (8000x8000 pixels) que pode ser impressa em grande formato para criar um lindo pôster pode ser &lt;a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/gsfc/6760135001/sizes/o/in/photostream/" title="Terra Planeta azul poster"&gt;baixada aqui&lt;/a&gt;. &lt;/div&gt;
Caetano Veloso melhor que ninguém descreve a famosa foto da Apolo 17. Ele estava na cadeia durante o regime militar e registrou em verso o que ele viu: &lt;br /&gt;
“Quando eu me encontrava preso / Na cela de uma cadeia / Foi que vi pela primeira vez/&lt;br /&gt;As tais fotografias / Em que apareces inteira / Porém lá não estavas nua/&lt;br /&gt;E sim coberta de nuvens...” &lt;br /&gt;

Basta entrar no ArcToolBox – 3D Analyst Tools – Functional Surface – Add Surface Information. Na caixa de dialogo que será aberta entre com o nome do arquivo shapefile que recebera os dados de altitude em Input Feature Class e com o MDE no campo Input Surface. Em seguida selecione quais os campos que deseja adicionar ao arquivo shapefile em Output Property. Destaco duas delas que na minha opinião justificam o download deste toolbox. A primeira delas é a &lt;strong&gt;Raster Band Splitter&lt;/strong&gt;, que separa as bandas de qualquer raster e as grava em disco como arquivos individuais. Por exemplo uma imagem Landsat com 7 bandas agrupadas será transformada em 7 arquivos cada um contendo uma banda especifica.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p align="justify"&gt;A outra função interessante é o &lt;strong&gt;Shapefile Filter&lt;/strong&gt; que apesar do nome não deixar muito claro o que ele faz pode ser muito útil. Esta função basicamente pega um campo selecionado pelo usuário num shapefile e cria novos shapes para cada valor diferente contido neste campo. Por exemplo um mapa de municípios do Brasil que tem um campo com o nome do estado que o município pertence. Usando o Shapefile Filter eu posso criar um arquivo shapefile para cada estado do Brasil, contendo em cada arquivo somente os municípios pertencentes, ou seja, ao final do processo teríamos 26 arquivos shapefile, um para cada estado. &lt;a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/C9MLg5v1DJwJ9xSW9kw3WfRzGIM/1/da"&gt;&lt;img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/C9MLg5v1DJwJ9xSW9kw3WfRzGIM/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"&gt;&lt;/img&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="justify"&gt;Muitas vezes é necessário exportar tabelas do ArcGis para visualização e cálculos complementares, cálculos estatísticos e&amp;nbsp; gráficos no Microsoft Excel. No ArcGis sabe-se lá porque esta funcionalidade não foi implementada diretamente no ArcToolbox e depende do download de um toolbox para pode ser executada. Então vamos mostrar como implementar esta funcionalidade de maneira rápida e indolor.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Passo 1 – Baixar o Toolbox - &lt;a title="convers&amp;atilde;o tabela ArcGis Excel" href="http://resources.arcgis.com/gallery/file/geoprocessing/details?entryID=95009B25-1422-2418-7FB5-B8638ECB2FA9" target="_blank"&gt;Additional Conversion - Generic Tools&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Passo 2 – Descompacte o Toolbox em um diretório, sugiro criar um especificamente para este fim e colocar lá dentro todos os toolboxes que você baixar, por exemplo C:\toolbox&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Passo 3- Entre no ArcGis e clique no ArcToolbox&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p align="justify"&gt;Passo 4 – Na aba do Arctoolbox clique com o botão direito do mouse sobre a palavra ArcToolBox e entre na opção “Add Toolbox”. Selecione o Toolbox que você baixou – “Additional Conversion - Generic Tools.tbx” e clique no botão Open. Observe que dentro do ArcToolBox aparecera una caixa de ferramentas com o nome “Additional Conversion - Generic Tools” &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p align="justify"&gt;Passo 5 -&amp;nbsp; Neste ponto o conversor já esta funcionando, porem só exporta as tabelas do arcgis para o formato CSV (separado por virgula). Este formato apresenta alguma inconsistência com nosso formato numérico que usa a virgula como separador decimal e precisa de alguma manipulação no Excel para ajustar este problema. A melhor opção é exportar direto no formato nativo do Excel (XLS). Para isto é necessário fazer o download de uma biblioteca Python que exporta os dados no formato XLS. Faça o download desta biblioteca &lt;a title="Download exportacao arcigs excel python" href="http://pypi.python.org/packages/any/x/xlwt/xlwt-0.7.2.win32.exe#md5=f80c07e938afbb41a60a2ed892c8a1cb" target="_blank"&gt;clicando aqui&lt;/a&gt;. Para instalar a biblioteca é necessário poderes de administrador. Para isto vá até o diretório onde a biblioteca foi baixada e clique sobre ela com o botão direito do mouse e entre na opção&amp;nbsp; “Executar como administrador”. Siga as instruções do instalador e ao final do processo retorne ao ArcGis e você estará apto a exportar as tabelas do ArcGis tanto em CSV como em XLS. Estes dados referem-se ao ano de 2010. Para utilizar faça o download do arquivo KMZ e abra-o no Google Earth. Para ver todas as informações disponibilizada clique no ponto verde que aparece próximo ao nome de cada uma das aldeias indígenas. &lt;br /&gt;Depois de começar no norte da Colúmbia Britânica e fluindo através de Yukon, no Canadá, o rio Yukon cruza o Alasca antes de desaguar no Mar de Bering.Inúmeros lagos e lagoas estão espalhadas por toda esta cena do Delta do Yukon. O rio é sinuoso, e suas ramificações parecem vasos sanguíneos. É um dos deltas maiores deltas de&amp;nbsp; rio do mundo, e a área é atualmente protegida como parte da refúgio da vida selvagem do Delta do Yukon. Chuvas torrenciais inundaram o Sudeste do Brasil na ultima semana de 2011 e primeira semana de 2012. A figura abaixo mostra as chuvas na região mais atingida monitorada pelo Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission&lt;a href="http://trmm.gsfc.nasa.gov/"&gt;(TRMM)&lt;/a&gt; no período de 30 de dezembro de 2011 a 6 de janeiro de 2012. Observe que em alguns pontos chega a chover 280mm num período de 8 dias. O site do TRMM contem uma grande quantidade de dados de domínio publico, alguns deles podem ser abertos diretamente no ArcGis.&lt;/div&gt;

Estava garimpando tutoriais sobre o ArcGis no Youtube e deparei com um excelente tutorial em vídeo que mostra como gerar uma animação usando o modulo ArcScene do ArcGis para simular a inundação de uma area. O autor &lt;a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/ramonrlp"&gt;Ramonrlp&lt;/a&gt; mostra com um exemplo bem simples como usar a ferramenta ArcScene. Os &amp;nbsp;dados necessários para&amp;nbsp;você&amp;nbsp;mesmo testar a animação são: um&amp;nbsp;polígono&amp;nbsp;limitando a&amp;nbsp;área&amp;nbsp;e um modelo digital de elevação (MDE). Para executar o ArcScene é necessário ter a licença do 3D Analyst. Vale a pena assistir este tutorial em vídeo&lt;/div&gt;
