I am both , ashamed and appalled at the way I have neglected this here blog.

I will make it my business in 2011 to update this sucker at least once a month. That much I promise, and you know I don't like to throw the "P" word around lightly :)

Update: Benicio's book was misprinted in its entirety and will be reprinted, I'm sorry to inform you this bit of sad news, we were expecting to have this book way back in November, it really sucks not having it for Xmas :(

I'll be attending the Angoulême Festival from January 27th to the 30th, and will remain in Paris for a few days after that. Let's see if we can get together and go out for an adult beverage or some sketching, or both. I'll post more info here as soon as I know additional details.

There are few things in this world that can match the awesomeness of New York City in the summer and one of those things is New York City in the Fall. So, if you are visiting New York on the second week of October (October 8 - 10) or you live in the Tri-State area, come to the Jacob K. After many sleepless but productive nights, I'm proud to announce our new titles for the summer 2010. This year we've gone global; Austria, Spain, Canada, Mexico, China and the US are well represented. I'd love to say I planned it this way but I didn't, it just happened, I'm glad it did and I think you will be happy too.

I'm horrible at doing backgrounds, so I avoid them like the plague for the most part, unfortunately, sometimes you just have to draw them and what's worse: paint the fucking things!. That is until I saw Canadian background animation designer/painter Marco Bucci come up with these amazing landscapes. In this book he gives us a step-by-step painting tutorial plus a word or two regarding his advice on color theory (made easier to understand for dumb bastards like me) Totally worth checking out just for fun, but watch out, If you're not careful you might learn something.
