Dean's Monster BBQ-Benefiting Yavapai County Food Bank

2015-09-18T11:29:00.000-07:00

Our Prescott Facebook Page has over 8,000 members. One of the administrators, Dean Simmons decided to throw a BBQ for all the page members, pretty much spur of the moment. Everyone united together and Dean chose Yavapai County Food Bank to be the benefactor of many giving people.

Dean and his lovely lady. Dean the Handy Man is well known around town for his helping spirit!

The wonderful people behind the Yavapai County Food Bank, Bob and Ann Wilson

Yavapai County Food Bank (YCFB) is the largest food bank in Yavapai County, Arizona; distributing tons of food each year to thousands of families and individuals living in poverty since 1992

The BBQ Fundraiser was held at beautiful Watson Lake in Prescott, Arizona.

The Bounce Guy was there with 2 awesome Bounce Houses!

The food donated by Dean and many members of the community was delicious!

We set up our Photo Booth with instant prints for everyone and collected donations for the YCFB.

Cans were set up all around the park to collect food donations for people in need. It was great
to see how much food was donated!

Lake Powell Vacation on a Houseboat.

2014-09-11T15:30:00.002-07:00

We just returned from a fabulous vacation on a houseboat in beautiful Lake Powell. I have never been to this spectacular place, it is like being in the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley at the same time. The changes in color during different times of day is just amazing. We did a trash the dress session with my beautiful daughter in law.

My son and his nephew fishing in a remote canyon where we docked. We are such a small blip in the grand scheme of things. What a relaxing way to spend a vacation. Unplugged for a week!

My son spent his days and evenings fishing. He caught quite a few catfish, carp and one blue gill.

My beautiful daughter in law looking lovely as usual.

The whole gang with an amazing backdrop.

Meradith showing her stuff!

Courtney was a skilled water skier and wakeboarder

Maverick and Mason had a blast swimming, wake boarding and exploring.

The kayaking was superb! Lots of coves and canyons to explore.

The boys loved the slide on the houseboat!

What a beautiful day in Sedona for the Bridal Fair. Casey and I were up at 4:00 am!!! We headed to the glorious Red Rock country and pulled into the beautiful Poco Diablo Resort to set up our booth. Brrrr, it was a cold 30 degrees, but we are tough chicks so it was all good.

We were set up in the tent, ready to welcome all the brides and have a fun day shooting Photo Booth pics.

There were so many fabulous vendors and guests. It was an amazing opportunity to get all your wedding services in one place! Planning weddings are not for the faint of heart!

Poco Diablo is a beautiful venue for a wedding! You can even have a dramatic helicopter entrance, how fun is that?

Goodbye 2013...That Sure Went Fast.

2014-01-02T19:23:00.003-08:00

What a great year 2013 was, but goodness it sure flew by. My daughter Casey was married this year in Waikoloa, Hawaii in October. We had a small group of family and friends join us to celebrate the marriage of Casey and Jack. It was wonderful to experience Hawaii again after more than 25 years. I have loved Hawaii from the moment I was a young 20 year old with aspirations of making the Big Island my home.

We would love to do destination weddings, especially to Hawaii...Hint, hint...

My beautiful children, Boomer (Kenneth) and Casey and myself.

Congratulations and may you have a long life of love and happiness!

The World's Oldest Rodeo- Prescott, Arizona July 1-7, 2013

2013-07-10T20:29:00.002-07:00

Casey and I had our photo booth set up at the Prescott Rodeo this past week. After the tremendous loss of life occurred at the Yarnell Hill Fire, we knew we wanted to do something to help the families of the young men who gave their life doing what the loved, helping others and keeping our community safe. Michael Kouevelas, the GM at the Historic Hassayampa Inn invited us to attend in the Corporate Hospitality Room. So many wonderful people donated and expressed their love for our lost men and Prescott.

Casey working the booth!

Massages were available...Oh how I wish I had one...

Guests took one of their photo booth pics and wrote something to the men and their families.

So many beautiful tributes and prayers, yes prayers at the rodeo. I Love Prescott!

These gals were a hoot!

Our Prescott Hometown Heroes-The Granite Mountain Hotshots-Thank you for your service, may you rest in peace!

2013-07-10T19:07:00.004-07:00

I live in the Prescott, Arizona area and we have had one helluva week. June 30th, 2013 we lost 19 courageous firefighters in the Yarnell Hill fire. It has been such a sad, emotional week as we memorialize and lay our boys to rest. It is hard to fathom these young, vibrant, healthy men are gone. The community, state and nation have been so supportive it really gives you hope and a wonderful warm feeling among all the chaos and tears. I stopped by the memorial last week and here are the images I captured. Needless to say, I left in tears...

2013-01-24T12:14:00.002-08:00

Casey and Kathleen head out to Vegas for the WPPI Convention

2012-03-19T14:22:00.002-07:00

After shooting the Coldwater wedding on Saturday, Casey and I were so excited to be attending the WPPI Convention in Las Vegas. Last year we attended the trade show, but this year we were so glad to be able to get a full registration to all the Platform classes. Thank you Imaging Spectrum! We checked into the MGM Grand Hotel and scurried over to the Convention Center. I especially wanted to take a video class to improve my skills on the video platform. Trust me, there was no where else to go but up!

Oh yes, some fantastical Sushi at New York, New York. YUMMY!

We did not indulge in ice cream, just took the photo opp.

Casey learned some posing techniques at Wppi, Obvi.

We trekked across the street to Hooter's and ran into this gentle giant. He was well over 7 feet tall. He was happy to pose with Casey. Is he famous? A former pro basketball player maybe?

Latrena and Jason Get Married!

2012-03-19T13:27:00.000-07:00

LaTrena and Jason had the most beautiful wedding day. The Hassayampa Country Club in beautiful Prescott, Arizona was the venue of this perfect day! February in Prescott can be iffy if you are having an outside ceremony. It was a bit chilly but at least there was no snow! Family and friends gathered on the driving range for the ceremony and then went inside to the beautiful clubhouse to get their groove on.

We would love to be a part of your special day! Please email us for more information! picsbykathleen@aol.com
