A Perspective from Greater Pittsburgh Prophetic Voice

This is the first post of a short recap on events from 2010 into 2011. Please note that we see in part as do all prophetic people, so you may have heard parts of this from others but I feel confident that you will be enlightened, too. We've been hearing so much about the next two-year period prophetically, beginning 2011, but are also seeing how crucial the next ten years will be; the earth has given more than sufficient evidence of these birthing pains. I'll continue with 2012 in the coming weeks and I hope you will engage in a discussion about what God is showing you.

Part I: from November 6, 2010:

God is depositing even more in His people than He has in the past, those who ‘hear His voice’ will draw closer, those who depend upon others to hear for them will drift further away. While we stand on the brink of revival as a nation, there is a concern. Along with the good that has taken root, the ripening seed of ‘politicism’ from the secular world that has been planted, has deeply taken root in the church. While the good fight to uphold Christian ethics and our freedom is necessary utilizing the system, we must continue to be careful that we guard our emotions concerning politics on all fronts. Political systems are tools and there is no such thing as good politics – only God is good. He has the final word in all things. Individually and as the church, we must give Him first place and all of the glory.

We have heard and seen the rise of racism since the last presidential election, and we are entering into a season, a new time of reconciliation to God that some will misuse for their own gain by playing on the prejudices and fears of man. I see weak Christians, a ‘pale’ skeletal church, one that is so sick and emaciated that it is too weak to arise from its bed to the challenges ahead and to its own destiny.

A cautionary word to all of the ‘presence people’: Do not merely be caught up in the ecstatic sense of revival, but recognize what is growing with it and how it is affecting your thoughts and action. It is not a time of separation but a time of pouring out what has been imparted to you. Separate yourself from empty vain religious activity yet seek after people, believers and non-believers alike. It is so easy to enjoy His presence, so pass it on and be that living stone He has called you to be. Your light will shine, and if you are like us, you know that people see His Spirit in you. Sometimes that is all it takes. Sometimes you need to go the extra mile and ask a simple question like “What do you need from God today?”

No longer a Standard for Righteousness

Although America is no longer a ‘standard-bearer’, there is restoration at hand. Be loyal to God alone and not to political causes or church doctrines, watch your alignment on the political scene and on the religious one. Spiritual discernment is so necessary, and my Dad always said that ‘talk is cheap’. Be informed on all fronts without being ignorant of satan’s devices, he’s had so much practice at deception that we must be dependent upon the Holy Spirit.

The Word of the Hour? Discern, Discern!

This is a time of grace, but it is also a time of trouble. God will trouble you, allow you to have trouble in order to shake out the things that are not of Him. Dry bones will rise, but firm personal decisions must be made now for some and for others, in their future spiritual resurrection. ‘Resolve’ is the word I hear. Resolve your issues and rise up. You must be whole-hearted in pursuit of God in order to be His genuine friend and not just an acquaintance. Deep friendships last, thoughts for acquaintances are fleeting at best. His sheep know and hear His voice and run to Him when He calls. Shallow pursuit will cause the spirit and flesh to deteriorate, the fruit to rot on the vine.

There is a new camaraderie coming between the secular and religious community but do not mistake support from the secular world as friendship with God. There is a serious distinction between light and dark, yet God will use this time powerfully. Great strides forward will be taken for His Kingdom as the secular and religious walk together for a season.

I see Islam as a possum, playing dead for a short season but very much alive. It will go so far as to do good works for our nation, helping individuals and infiltrating the church in an effort to gain solid ground. Some will be ‘hidden reefs in our love feasts’ but do not confuse true converts with these deceivers. Do not point the finger, allowing suspicion and fear to rule you. Hear the voice of the Spirit and discern, not giving place to circumstantial evidence. You can know the difference only if you know His voice, so learn to know His voice unequivocally.

There is a digging in by Islamic cell groups, a calculated strategized foothold being dug down deeper. I see a trench, and these people are not afraid to ‘get dirty’ for what they believe. This foothold can be weakened and destroyed through the love of God, and an aggressive effort made to evangelize Muslim people. Preparations should be made to provide sanctuary for these new converts, since they will not be welcome in their families and Islam has no respect for our laws. They will murder their own children as we have seen, letting innocent blood on American soil. We must repent for not seeking after the Muslim people for Christ’s sake in America. More blood is on our hands through the influx of the spirit of murder through Islam, yet His love is our greatest weapon! We must learn from Islam how to be as equally adamant and aggressive in vision and vigilance for the sake of the gospel. The Spirit is giving out gifts now to reach these people – “If you want it, come and get it!” says the Lord.

Last But Not Least

We have seen a spirit in the White House, it’s a pale grey-green frog-like thing that stands upright like a man with suction cup fingertips. These tendrils are reaching out to plague true lovers of God and to crush the seed of Abraham. It has come from the Middle East, from Egypt, to our shores and taken up residence. However, it does not have the influence or complete control that it is seeking. If you are a prophetic intercessor, you may have experienced or are experiencing an attack from this spirit.

Be free today: I break the band of oppression from your mind now in the name of Jesus Christ.

The Last Stand 2: Baby Boomers, Vietnam Vets and the Coming Revival

I just returned from the Voice of the Apostles conference in Lancaster, PA, and decided to blog an email that I've sent out in the recent past.

It's a reprint from the November Greater Pittsburgh Prophetic Voice newsletter that we publish periodically, and I confess that I have been remiss in sharing what I see in recent months. Sometimes I hesitate because it's not time to post what I see, sometimes it's tough to make a public announcement about things people don't want to hear yet must be considered. In all things, let Him speak truth to you and hear His voice today as you read the words below.

Here's what happened: An associate of Randy Clark at Global Awakening in Mechanicsburg, PA, asked the Baby Boomers to stand and then prayed over the crowd. Although he told those 55 and up to arise, I decided that at 53 I still qualify, and stood to receive an impartation for our generation. The following is an excerpt from a word that I received from the Lord for the Baby Boomers and Vietnam veterans, and I pray that it encourages and confirms what God is speaking to your heart and spirit. If it's new to you, then enter in and receive from the Holy Spirit. He has so much to give and open up to you.

For the Baby Boomers:

New Christian leaders will arise from the ranks. These are prepared lovers of God, not novices such as we have had in recent years and will not fail or give in to the flesh. The baby boomer generation will finally find its place and be babies no longer, no longer focused on the American Dream, products of their parents dream. They have fought world wars of their own–materialism, drugs, disgrace and the status quo–and have not given in to contemporary ideas and mandates.

These are seasoned, toughened warriors ready to lead the next generation that is hanging on by a thread. We hear so much about the generation that is coming but I’m telling you It’s Here. Real Champions are made of experience. Veterans of numerous battles, they have fought and come back, fought and come back, retreated and now their wounds are healed. They are coming forth to lead and to fight one more day, and to go out fighting. For His Glory!

Some of the baby boomers are ‘forgers’, creating and supplying weapons and tools for the young army. Some will tend the wounded and ‘nurse the young’ in the rear guard. Quickly, quickly. Do not second-guess those who ‘seem less’ than you. They are ‘seamless’ in God’s eyes, wearing holy robes of many colors because their gifts are many and varied. Great ones will arise from the least of these. Remember Gideon, David, Joseph–all ‘seemed’ to be unlikely candidates to family and friends yet today we revere their exploits. We have heard in recent years of many women, many who have left the church hungry and not fed, and for want of opportunity. They have led their daughters instead into witchcrafts as a result but their spirits will awaken and they will come back, drawn to the power of a living and loving God.

For Vietnam Veterans:

A special grace is being given to the dishonored ones, Vietnam veterans, who at this time will choose to step into this call. It is not because you are more special than any other, but God has declared that It’s Time for you. Rise up, stop feeling sorry for yourselves, be released from pain, grief and rejection right now in Jesus’ Name. The Lord has received you and not rejected you for your service to Him.

If you will be like the Centurion and take Him at His word and obey His command without question like a good soldier, He will do it for you immediately and without delay. Receive now in Jesus’ Name!
He will give those of you who respond with a sincere heart more than a fellow soldier’s connection with those who have been in Iraq and Afghanistan in recent years. He will give you Sons and Daughters. He is saying to You, “Peter, do you love Me? Feed my sheep."

And speaking of Sons and Daughters, have you seen The List? The VOA conference was very exciting for me in many ways, but several young people came to me in a real 'suddenly'. It was a confirmation and a beginning of God's promise to have many spiritual Sons and Daughters.

Folks, this wave is coming and it cannot be stopped! For all of you from Pittsburgh, did you know that there is a world youth summit coming to our city in 2012? More later...

In Times Like These… Remembering US Airways Flight 427

I am writing today concerning the times in which we live and something important that I need to openly share...

In September of 1994, a Boeing US Air 737 airplane crashed on our property about 100 yards from our home. It was an unusual time to say the least, and was indeed tragic. But this post is not about death or memorializing the dead which quite frankly, I don't believe in–another discussion for another time. There is a time to mourn and it's healthy, but obsession with the dead and with memorials is another topic altogether.

Nevertheless, I'm writing to you in regard to HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD and am sharing my personal failure to do so, in order to exhort you to LISTEN WHEN HE SPEAKS. It's so easy to brush aside the little things, and to miss the obvious simply because 1) you don't want to hear it or 2) you think you know what He's saying and have heard it all before.

And that's exactly what I did. I used to sit on the swings with our children when they were small and watch the planes fly overhead. We live about 10 minutes from the Pittsburgh Int'l Airport, so it's not unusual. I had a feeling that something would happen one day but brushed it aside. I thought I was just being morbid, entertaining negative thoughts.

It's important to recognize what Voice we're listening to without too much introspection, yet we must 'tune in' to Holy Spirit, whether He's giving us simple direction or speaking mysteries.

I have to ask, do you listen to Him or are you too busy and consumed with YOU? Think of being tuned in to a radio channel. Some are clear, some static. It's the same with hearing His Voice.

Once you find the right frequency, don't dare turn that knob or you might lose the connection. So Hear what He's saying, zero in, and listen intently. The Spirit is always speaking but we're not always listening. Most people miss out on revelation by allowing other things to replace a hearing and seeing relationship with the Father, Son, AND Holy Spirit. This includes the tasks of daily life as well as church activity. Ultimately, it's up to YOU to hear His voice and for the Spirit to teach you His ways, not the pastor or anyone else. In the end, we will all stand before Him alone for our deeds, not only good works but the occupation of our minds.

'The American Way' is to think that we deserve life's best based on our own definition, yet in the Kingdom of God we 'deserve' nothing at all. We're privileged to receive what He freely gives and has given to us in the form of Jesus Christ, and in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

I believe that self-pity, a deadly byproduct of self-will, is really the American way. When we can't have what we want, we feel sorry for self because we think that we deserve more. The negative aspects of life then crash in on the soul and bitterness, anger and self-pity rule the human spirit, overtaking the influence of the Holy Spirit.

The static of complaint becomes the modus operandi instead of the freedom of thanksgiving. Self-will entangles us in the wrong spiritual atmospheres, allowing the mind to be ruled by emotion instead of the Spirit, dulling our spiritual senses. Therefore, our hearing becomes garbled and our sight dim. While we are yet in the flesh, this is not unconquerable. There needs to be a 'shift' in our way of thinking.

I urge you to give the Holy Spirit permission to change and revolutionize you from the inside out. You will be challenged with new levels of understanding that you did not hear or see before, astounded by what you have misunderstood, and forever changed.

To continue my story of Flight 427…

In July of 1993, I had a distinct feeling that something significant and catastrophic was about to happen; the atmospheres were full, crying out it seemed.

In July 1994, I felt that this disaster was close. Although I considered it briefly, nothing more was forthcoming, so I didn't pursue the feeling for very long. I found out later that another Christian woman whose Father died in the crash had felt similarly that month, and I'm sure there are more testimonies out there.

In August, the Spirit urgently impressed Psalm 91 upon me several times. The shelter of His presence was so important; I could feel His arm like a hovering wing. So I reread the Psalm 91 for the thousandth time and finally gave it up and said, "That's nice, Lord. Your Presence is wonderful as always, blah blah…" and I let it go. I stopped listening to His voice even though He was persistent.

The month flew by; we were busy running to church, dance lessons, tee ball and baseball games, and I was preparing materials for our upcoming year of home school in the fall.

On Thursday, September 6, Andy took our 2 youngest daughters to church. He was preaching that evening and the girls went to youth meetings. I went to our son's little league game, and my parents and eldest daughter accompanied me. Our children were 7, 9, 11 and 15 at the time. While we were at the ball field watching the game, we saw the plane make its fateful descent into a tree-studded hillside and as we were to discover later, smack dab into the middle of our driveway. The rest is history.

On a humorous note, I'll never leave home again without my makeup bag and hairbrush! It was actually the first time I ever did, and that night we didn't return home. Think about it, ladies. Since then, I'm a firm believer in being prepared for the unexpected and In Times Like These, I suggest you do the same for your entire household.

For all of you who see little humor in this situation, remember that the joy of the Lord is our strength and there is a release of tension and grief in laughter. At that time, many persons involved found relief from the overwhelming horror of the tragedy through morbid jokes, including the families of the victims.

In Times Like These, Hear His Voice.

I can't say enough about how important it is to listen to the Voice of the Holy Spirit now or at any time. Listen also to those with a proven track record prophetically. Don't mock those who warn or encourage you to prepare for difficult days ahead. Get your house in order: consider financial preparation, whether you need to move from your current location or if you feel to put aside a few necessities to provide for your family short-term or for your church as a ministry, then do so without delay. You can always give excess away later!

Most importantly, get your spiritual house in order – Hear His Voice and find or start a home group today, not a social time but worship and intercession. Make it a priority, Now is the Time!

Moreover, don't depend on the world or its empty promises to take care of you–it won't! It's more likely to steal away what you already have and then demand more. Only one thing is for sure–the world can NEVER steal away our faith and trust in God, or His presence in our lives. Above all, don't be afraid by what you see or hear around you.

If you know Him intimately, He will speak to you and tell you what you must do for yourself and those around you. You must have a hearing ear and heart, in the good times as well as the bad. Plus, you're really missing out on the joy of knowing Him fully if you ignore His Voice and His Presence. He, meaning Holy Spirit also, is an equal person of the trinity and deserves our respectful and loving regard.

"Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17

This kind of hearing is to hear with the ear and to expand your spiritual discernment through taste, sight, touch and smell. It's about hearing His Voice directly, not necessarily through another person or the bible. So often people limit the moving of God by denying the very senses He has given to us to use and enjoy in the Kingdom. He created us with five senses for a reason, that we might know Him while we are on the earth and sit in His atmospheres. So much more to say but I'll close with a "think about it".

The Last Stand: Are you Ready for the Intensity of this Current Time?

This past weekend, my daughter and I watched J. R. R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, the extended version, for the ?? time.

I've considered why we felt an urgency to do so and have concluded that it was a Spirit-led viewing and an encounter.

I read Lord of the Rings as a teen and absolutely adored it. My passion for the story equaled what I felt as a young girl for Pride and Prejudice.

I told my hubby recently that it makes a lot of sense, considering who I am today. Early on, I discovered three important yet simple things about God many people fail to understand.

The first important fact I realized was this: I could know God.

Wow. He was real and wanted me to know Him. He was just waiting for me to understand this simple truth since He knew me intimately before He ever created me in my mother's womb. No bells and whistles, no sermons, church-going or prescribed prayers, rules and regulations are required to know Him in return.

Second, I needed Him in my life.

Desperately. And I wasn't unhappy or a bad kid. Compared to many, I had everything—a loving family, friends, all of my material needs met, etc., yet I knew something important was missing, that indefinable empty place in my soul. Only He could possibly fill it–and He did, to overflowing.

Last, I knew deep inside that I wanted to know Him.

Do you? I knew that He was what I'd been looking for and hadn't found elsewhere in a person, place or thing. Knowing Jesus Christ is your answer. Just be sure to remember there is a Father God and Holy Spirit to know, too. Each one is a person of the Godhead and equally worthy of our attention and our praise.

My favorite way to invite people to experience God is this:

Just say Yes, no 'buts' included. Tell Him you want to get to know Him and ask Him to speak to you today. He will, and you will be on a journey like never before, but it's up to you how far you will go. After thirty-eight years I have no regrets and am still running hard after Him. Each day is a new experience and never grows old. He truly is the love and joy of my life, the fulfillment of all my hopes and dreams.

In addition, my relationship with Him is not one-sided. It's not only about who I am in Jesus Christ but who He is in me. Consequently, I am a lover and a warrior (hence my appreciation for P&P and LOTR) and my love for Him is and has always been very real and intense, His presence tangible. I feel privileged to know Him dynamically, have genuine compassion for those who have not, whatever the reason.

We are rapidly approaching The Last Stand. Folks, we've been in the last days for thousands of years now. It's time to make ourselves ready, to set aside any lingering love for the world as we know it and to experience His Kingdom now, preparing for the Battle to end all battles.

My first question is this: Are you ready to withstand the intensity of these times?

On the Economy, Stock Market and US AA+ Rating

Today the world stock market plummeted. After reading about the downgrade to the US AA+ rating the other day and our national debt to the Chinese, I heard this phrase from the Lord: "Braxton Hicks". Most people are familiar with the term in regard to pregnancy and false labor, and I believe what we're hearing right now is just that - it's a wakeup call again, reminding us that we're not invnicible as a nation depite our history, neither are we infallible as the church. And yes, it is the end of the world as we know it.

The English doctor for whom the term was coined, John Braxton Hicks, noted the onset of 'confusion' as to whether labor was beginning or not. He also suggested that the contractions were usually painless and alleviated through exercise. Since then, medical science has discovered other methods for relief as well.
Braxton Hicks contractions are literally a tightening of the uterine muscles in preparation for birth, so here is what I see based on the definition and how to treat it. The first factor in false labor is often dehydration. Need I really say any more?

Our nation and the church is a desert spiritually, so dry, in fact, that it's in a state of contracting and heaving; the entire earth is making way for the coming of the Lord. We need personal hydration, to stop depending on others to provide what we need from God. I continue to call for personal responsibility in this area and also continue to receive the proverbial 'deer in the headlights' stare from people who expect their pastor or church to do it all for them.

Second, rhythmic breathing can help BH symptoms. If you're out of sync with the Holy Spirit who is 'the Breath' of the trinity, then get to know Him. Without Holy Spirit, your breathing will be erratic at best. For all of you Pentecostal types, babbling in tongues, while enormously valuable, doesn't cut it. It's not a badge of spirituality to wear or any better than a proscribed prayer if you don't know the Holy Spirit as the person that He Is.

Lying on your left side can help alleviate the discomfort of BH, too. 'Left' can describe two things in the spiritual realm. In this instance, spiritual change. Make the effort to change today.

Last but not least, having a full bladder can sometimes trigger BH contractions. So here is the interpretation. Empty the waste, folks. Be filled with the Spirit and pursue Him with all of your heart, mind and soul. Find a group of people who want Him and only Him, and who aren't focused on themselves and all of the hoopla and seeker friendly nonsense that's out there. Anything and everything else that you need will flow from this kind of pursuit.

If necessary start a 'seeking' group yourself. Remember that where two or more are gathered, He is in your midst and you are a church according to the NT definition. In the coming days, you'll need the connection with true believers more than ever.

After all, who can stand in the presence of the Lord? Christians pray for His coming but don't recognize or understand the serious cost. The Psalms are full of references to how the earth is torn apart at His coming. Plus, the scripture is clear; no man knows the day or hour of His coming so don't be deceived by the calculations of men.

Although difficult times are ahead, we're not in labor yet even though the symptoms are all around us. This is our opportunity to have clarity in the midst of the world's confusion and to win many to Him. So brush off the confusion and hear His voice speaking peace to you today.

I have several other blogs but this one is devoted to my writing craft. I write music, too, so perhaps one day soon I'll plunk on the guitar or finally turn on the keyboard and record something.
