Finding Nemo Wallpaper - Finding Nemo Movie

Released in 2003 and the fifth in a line of great movies from Disney Pixar, the Finding Nemo movie is an animated feature film which was a blockbuster in its own right and was the first time the Disney Pixar duo had released a movie in a month apart from November.

Set around a father and son pair of clownfish, the father, Marlin, after promising that no harm would come to his son, Nemo, after his wife was attacked and killed by a barracuda attacking their home, is so over protective to his son that the only way Nemo sees to alleviate his father's worries is to prove that he is capable of taking care of himself.

Unfortunately for Nemo his keenness to to get his father to stop worrying soon backfires and he is caught by a scuba diver while trying to show his father that the fear he has of the ocean is needless, and so the storyline of the finding nemo movie begins.

Marlin hysterically tries to help Nemo, who has now been put on board a speedboat and is heading for a dentist's office in Sydney harbour, but, with no recompense Marlin aimlessly swims until he bumps into Dory, a regal tang fish, who suffers from a short term memory loss but who feels she can help Marlin in his quest.

Nemo has now ended up at the dentist's office and in a fish tank where he has made friends with the other captive fish. To their dread, the fish figure out that Nemo is to be a birthday present for the dentist's niece who has a track record of traumatizing her last pet fish until it passed away.

Whilst continuing their search of finding Nemo, Marlin and Dory become really close and Dory shows Marlin how to be more care free and their adventures bring them to sharks, jelly fish, sea turtles, a whale and eventually Sydney harbour and some hungry seagulls. During this time the fish in the dentist's fish tank have been planning their own adventures and an escape.

A pelican helps the pair and takes them to the dentist's office window, where to their total shock they see Nemo, who appears to be dead in a bag. This sets Marlin into despair and he leaves Dory to set off home all alone. Nemo wasn't actually dead though and in a commotion Nemo finds himself down a plug hole, through the drains and into the ocean.

Madly the three fish all stumble across each other, but there's one last crisis to overcome, Dory has got herself captured with a school of fish in a fishing net. With all the lessons learnt throughout the movie, Nemo and Dory persuade the fish to swim against the net to stop them all being dragged onto the fishing boat, the plan works and Marlin decides it's time to let Nemo "go have an adventure"

Finding Nemo: The History for Kids Parties

Finding Nemo was inspired by a combination of a trip to an aquarium, memories of growing up by the ocean, and the writer's own experience of parenting challenges. Finding Nemo tells the story of life in the Great Barrier Reef, and how Marlin a widowed clownfish parent sees his son (Nemo), get scooped up by a diver that requires him to go searching for him. Marlin feels he has to go after Nemo, not only because he is the only remaining child Marlin has, because Marlin is a big overbearing. Marlin realizes that Nemo has a deformity, known in the film as the Lucky fin, and that others can be mean to Nemo because of it.

Nemo, because he wants to be accepted by his schoolmates, tends to rebel against his father's wishes. It is during one of these rebellious moments that Nemo gets himself scooped up and the adventure of Finding Nemo has begun. Marlin teams up with Dory, the forgetful sidekick who helps Marlin accomplish the ultimate rescue of Nemo, but not until after both Nemo and Marlin have some pretty wild adventures. The storyline of Finding Nemo is good for children to view because it affirms the importance of listening to parents and authority figure. In addition, the studio made a concerted effort to keep the basics surrounding the ocean life and fish characteristics as close to realistic so as to make Finding Nemo a good learning experience for children to experience.

In 2003, when it was released Finding Nemo became a huge hit, grossing over three-quarters of a billion dollars. In addition, Finding Nemo won Oscars for the best animated film and had three additional Oscar nominations. The company that produced Finding Nemo, Pixar, sold the movie to Disney studios. There are many rumors that a sequel will eventually be released. Meanwhile, kids and parents today still can't get enough of the cute little clownfish, making a Finding Nemo party an excellent choice.

Dora the Explorer Wallpaper: A Fun Companion for Kids

Dora the Explorer is a cartoon show that airs on the Nickelodeon channel, featuring stories about Dora Marquez, a young Hispanic girl who ventures forth on adventurous quests. The Dora the Explorer show is aimed for a younger audience, from six to ten years old, although children that are four or five years old also seem to enjoy the show. Dora speaks both English and Spanish, and helps viewers learn the use of simple words in Spanish, so it's not uncommon to see young viewers of the Dora the Explorer show who are able to understand basic Spanish words... and some of them are even able to use full simple sentences correctly!

Of course Dora is not alone during her adventures. The show features many other characters, the most important of them being a talking monkey named Boots. His name comes from the red boots he likes to wear, and being Dora's best friend he joins her on every single adventure she gets into.

In every episode of Dora the Explorer, a sneaky masked fox named Swiper tries to steal an item from Dora or her friend Boots, usually jeopardizing the successful completion of the day's quest, so Dora and her friends end up having to recover the stolen item in order to finish the quest. Sometimes, the recovery of the stolen item is the quest in itself.

The only way Dora and Boots can prevent Swiper from stealing something is repeating the phrase "Swiper, No Swipping!!!" three times. If they don't repeat this phrase three times, then the evil fox will steal the item and say "you were late" to Dora and her best friend, throwing the item far away.

Other characters of the Dora the Explorer Show are Dora's parents, "Papi" (Spanish for "daddy?) and "Mami" (Spanish for "mommy"), and also her "abuela" ("grandma"). They speak both Spanish and English, of course. Another cool character is Diego, who is Dora's cousin. Diego is a boy who rescues animals that are in danger and often accompanies Dora on her adventures. The Diego character became so popular that he even got his own show, called "Go, Diego. Go."

A bunch of bilingual animals, like "Señor Tucán" and "Isa, the Iguana"; and some talking items, like Dora's Backpack, complete the character list.

Dora the Explorer is a show that encourages viewer participation: Dora often asks the audience if they have seen Swiper, or asks them to count the numbers along with her. This is perhaps what makes Dora the Explorer such a great educational show, enabling small children to learn the basic concepts of mathematics (mostly counting), to recognize different kinds of music, and to use simple but useful Spanish words at a very low age.

The Dora the Explorer Show became a regular series on Nickelodeon in the year 2000, and is still being produced. The show is not only aired for the US, but also for a lot of countries around the world. So far, Dora the Explorer has been translated to Spanish, Japanese, French, German, Dutch and many other languages.

Dora the Explorer and Friends

Dora the Explorer is an outdoor girl who continually loves exploring the outdoors. Dora appears on the Nickelodeon cable television network that commenced in 1999. Dora loves her family, Boots the monkey and she enjoys playing sport. As in the title of the children's television series Dora loves going exploring and always wants her viewing audience to help her explore. She has an exceptionally good nature and sees good in everything around her. Dora has an extremely good and positive effect on children throughout her exploration adventures.

Dora does not spend very much time indoors as she is an outdoor person, but when she is indoors she is very much a family person. Dora speaks Spanish fluently and she also teaches Spanish to the children watching.

Dora's has many friends; amongst them are some of the following:

- Boots is a monkey who she found in the forest and Dora loves Boots. Boots is so called because of his red boots and goes with Dora on nearly all of her adventures and helps Dora find her way around.

- Swiper is a fox with a blue mask and gloves. He is so called because he swipes (steals) all things which help Dora on her adventures making her task more difficult. Swiper is as cunning as a fox but he is not too cunning for Dora in her adventures.

- Map gives expert guidance to Dora on her adventures.

- Backpack is purple and provides magical items to help Dora achieve her exploration goals.

- Isa is an Iguana and has an occupation as a gardener and grows flowers.

Dora the Explorer is an extremely popular children's television series with a turnover in excess of $1 billion US per year and has resulted in many spin off products such as toys, books, sticker books and DVD's for young fans of the adventurous Dora.

Characters 'n' Toons is an online character and toy store and is a leading authority on children's character toys and entertainment. Characters 'n' Toons has a large selection of character toys, gifts, bedding, dinnerware, party supplies, products, merchandise, games and collectibles that include Dora the Explorer toys featuring Dora and her friends Boots, Map and Backpack and many more character toys and products.

Tom and Jerry Wallpapers - Have Fun Watching Tom and Jerry

We definitely live in a fast world that usually leaves us tired and exhausted from our daily activities. While some have a way of dealing with that, others do not know what to do to refresh their mind and body. What you need at such a time is fun, and lots of it. Well, treat yourself to Tom and Jerry's never-ending squabbles and you will wind up your day refreshed and in a perfect mood.

Ever wondered why Tom and Jerry at times seem to get along well and out of the blue Tom starts to chase Jerry so much, leaving a wave of destruction along the way? To your amazement, Tom will not eat Jerry whenever he has a perfect chance to: Jerry will always find a way out. Watch as Tom is entrusted with varied tasks by his master, including safeguarding of master's food. Jerry will employ all tricks in the book to get the food. Although Jerry may eat the food, he at times simply scatters it all over, resulting in Tom giving Jerry a chase that leaves you wonder.

What annoys Tom most is Jerry's tendency to saving potential prey that Tom spots. While Tom calculates and makes his moves, Jerry is always around at some corner, calculating other destructive moves against Tom. When Tom's moves are just about to bear fruit, Jerry comes in with well-calculated counter-moves that simply leaves Tom devastated and terribly annoyed.

Witty, clever, cunning, swift with luck on his side, Jerry is simply beyond Tom's reach. These attributes have always helped Jerry; Tom has never been able to catch Jerry. In a few instances that Tom has succeeded in catching Jerry, Jerry has always found a way out, tricking Tom into letting go. Very interesting is the fact that Jerry is always after Tom's tail. This is Tom's body part that Jerry always want to destroy. What do you make of the fact that it is Tom's tail that Jerry stuffs into a waffle iron or plugs it into an electric socket?

However, both Tom and Jerry are violent, at times to the extreme. While Tom will use an axe, firearm, poison and traps in an effort to finish off Jerry, Jerry will be using a mace, mallet or a club to pound Tom with. Jerry at times uses anything nearby to destroy Tom, including causing a tree on Tom's path to fall and hit him.

Watching Tom and Jerry brings out all the negative things you can imagine. Watch jealousy, revenge, meanness and pure hatred played out in the open, but with no blood spilt. Despite all the hatred towards each other, also watch that tender care one can extend to sworn enemy. Tom and Jerry become truly touched and concerned when either of them is 'hurt'. Jerry is wont to tricking Tom that he is injured and Tom dashes for the first-aid box. Generally, Tom has the size and power to do anything. In contrast, Jerry is small but with strength. Tom is usually defeated by Jerry in almost anything because of his wits. If it is fun an entertainment at its best that you need to wind your day, do not miss to watch Tom and Jerry in action.

Tom and Jerry - The Code

After I wrote the title, I immediately thought of the cartoon characters, cat & mouse, Tom & Jerry. Did you?

What actually inspired the title was Tom Cruise in "Jerry Maguire".

Anyway, me and my hubby were watching Jerry Maguire and it was on the scene towards the end.

Remember when Jerry bust in the women gathering and said to Dorothy, "I love you. You, you complete me. And I just."

And Dorothy said, "Shut up, just shut up! You had me at "Hello"!

Well that sparked a whole discussion on the most memorable quote of the movie, like when Jerry screams in the phone to Ron, "SHOW ME THE MONEY!"

Then one thing led to another and my hubby said, "What a shame that Tom Cruise got so weird because he's such a great actor. Remember when he jumped up and down on Oprah's couch?"

I said, " Yeah, I remember that!"

Now I gotta tell you, Tom's couch hopping didn't offend me like it did so many. And I remember thinking at the time, "Good for you, Tom. You're acting kinda silly but who gives a crap about what others think."

And at that second it dawned on me that Tom possesses The Code that eludes so many. The Code which is the hidden order and secret personality discipline of the filthy rich.

The Code that unless this absolute foundational law is being used, no other "attraction" law can work without it.

The Code that when you learn to apply it, the wrong type of people will find you offensive and learn to despise you.

The Code that is necessary for Master Marketers to possess.

Because if they don't, what's the point of learning HOW to attract thousands of people and when they show up, you turn them off?

Or how about this, what's the point in learning how to network but fail to possess the secret Code of Presidents and Rock Stars?

Because do YOU really think learning SEO, blogging, Facebook, and Twitter are going to be useful if when you gather a crowd, you appear scared, weak, and unsure of yourself simply by the words you speak?

And what happens when a prospect raises their hand and asks, "What are you doing and can you show me more?" If your response is going to be anything less than excellent?

Seriously, if you don't take steps to learning and possessing The Code, you will end up working the rest of your life for someone who does.

And if that's what you want, then go for it!

But not me pal!!

Okay I'm done and I am always so pleasantly surprised Because God doesn't give money, He gives concepts!

To think this concept was sparked by watching "Jerry Maguire"!

And Tom jumping on Oprah's couch!

Only to remind me that our world is DOMINATED by people who possess The Code!

And that it's ours for the taking, if and only if we are willing to learn and apply it!

Simple Dimple!

Winnie The Pooh Wallpaper - Winnie the Pooh and His History

Winnie-the-Pooh is a popular children's book character created by author A.A Milne. The image of Pooh bear has been used for cuddly soft toys, clothes and even animated feature films. Many people do not know Winnie-the-Pooh was actually based on a real bear called "Winnipeg" who his son Christopher Milne liked very much. It's a touching story which caught the hearts and minds of many people after the First World War.

Christopher Robin Milne often went to see a Canadian Black Bear called Winnie at London Zoo. The bear was originally given to the Zoo on a long loan basis by Harry Colebourn. Lieutenant Colebourn was on his way to England at the time to take part in World War I when he bought the bear cub for $20 from a hunter in White River, Ontario, who had just trapped and killed its mother.

He named the bear "Winnie" after his hometown of Winnipeg, Canada. Winnipeg the bear became very popular with soldiers of the 2nd Canadian Infantry Brigade and travelled with them as their mascot. When they arrived in England it was clear that Winnipeg would not be able to accompany the Infantry Brigade any further as they had to move on to France. Harry Colebourn took the bear to the Zoological Gardens in London so they could look after it while he was away. In 1919 he returned to collect the bear and realised that it had become very popular with staff and visitors, so he decided to donate the bear to the zoo. Winnie the bear was a popular attraction at London Zoo until it died in 1934.

Christopher Robin Milne first saw Winnie on an excursion to the zoo in 1924 and actually spent time with it in the bear cage. This experience obviously had a great affect on Christopher and he went back to visit Winnie on many occasions, which led to A.A Milne keeping a journal about visiting the bear with his son. The journal entries also included other popular characters from the books such as Eyeore, Tigger, Kanga and Roo, which were his son's cuddly soft toys. Other characters in the books such as Owl and Rabbit were based on animals on Milne's country estate.

A young artist by the name of Ernest Shepard created the illustrations for the books which were inspired by A.A Milne's journal entries. The first was called "Winnie-the-Pooh" which went into print on October 14th 1926. A second book was released in 1928 called "The House at Pooh Corner". However poems and verses about the bear can also be found in other children's books called "When We Were Very Young" in 1924 and "Now We are Six" in 1927, which were also written by A.A Milne and illustrated by Ernest Shepard. All of the stories take place in Ashdown Forest which was on and around Milne's estate in Sussex.

A big fan of Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh books was Walt Disney who made the first animated theatrical featurette of the famous bear and his exploits in 1966 called the "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree". It was at this time the hyphens were dropped from the name. Other films have been made which include "Pooh's Grand Adventure" in 1997 and "The Tigger Movie" in 2000. In 2003 "Piglet's Big Movie" was also released followed by "Pooh's Heffalump Movie"in 2005. In fact an all new full length animated Winnie the Pooh movie is in production and is slated for release in 2011.

Winnie the Pooh or Edward bear as it is sometimes known as picked up the Pooh part of its name from a swan that Milne's son once met on holiday. However, in the first chapter of "Winnie-the-Pooh" Milne does offer an explanation of his own as to why the bear is sometimes simply called "Pooh".

"But his arms were so stiff... they stayed up straight in the air for more than a week, and whenever a fly came and settled on his nose he had to blow it off. And I think - but I am not sure - that that is why he is always called Pooh."

Spongebob Squarepants Wallpaper - Life Lessons From SpongeBob Squarepants

It was 1999, I was 7 years old, and SpongeBob Squarepants had just arrived on television. SpongeBob quickly became one of my favorite shows, and looking back, I learned a lot of good lessons from watching the show all day. Now, when watching the show, I have noticed a lot of positive characteristics in SpongeBob's character. For one, he is the most optimistic character I have ever seen. He is also extremely supportive of all of his friends, regardless of what they think of him. If we could all grab a little piece of SpongeBob's optimism, the world would be a much better place.

1. Optimism - A cheery sponge with a shining personality. He is so optimistic, to that point that it gets annoying! When something bad happens to SpongeBob, he never panics. He analyzes the situation, and sees it from the best point of view. For example, in one of the first episodes, and my personal favorite, "Pizza Delivery", SpongeBob and Squidward get lost while trying to deliver a pizza. Squidward immediately panics, terrified of being lost, and the possibility of never coming back home. SpongeBob is completely optimistic about the situation, and has faith in his "Pioneer Navigation Skills" to bring him and Squidward back home. If SpongeBob hadn't been extremely optimistic, and allowed Squidward's low energy to resonate with him, the situation would have turned out different.

2. Kindness - SpongeBob also has a strong urge to help others. An example of this can be seen in an episode where he is asked to do a chore, building a telescope for Mr. Krabs. On that same day, he must go to Patrick's birthday party, and help out Sandy with a business presentation. Out of the need to help others, and fear of disappointing his friends, SpongeBob verbally commits to all 3 tasks. At the end of the episode, Patrick, Sandy, and Mr. Krabs find out that SpongeBob was trying to juggle all 3 events at once, and they feel moved by his kindness.

3. Innocence - Another strong word to describe the lovable SpongeBob Squarepants, is innocence. Looking at the kind eyes of the compassionate sponge, it is almost a given how innocent SpongeBob's soul is. Any wrong that SpongeBob commits, will cause a huge bubble of guilt inside. SpongeBob cannot live with any guilt inside, and he immediately confesses and apologizes for any wrongdoings.

4. Fearlessness/Bravery - Although SpongeBob exhibits fear in many social/work situations, he has an element of stupidity mixed with fearlessness that makes for an interesting combination. A perfect example of this would be "Krusty Krushers", where Mr. Krabs sends SpongeBob and Patrick into a wrestling arena, where they are faced with champion wrestlers who are about 30 times larger than they are. The fearlessness of SpongeBob and Patrick combined is inspiring, and no matter what scare tactics the wrestlers try out on our brave duo, or the pain they inflict, SpongeBob and Patrick never let up.

5. Relentlessness - SpongeBob is relentless, just ask Squidward! When SpongeBob wants to play games with his angry neighbor, Squidward says "NO!" about 95% of the time. SpongeBob keeps asking, literally dozens of times, until Squidward finally gives in. SpongeBob knows that Squidward is a very angry and pessimistic character, but he treats Squidward as if he were a nice man, and a best friend (which he is to SpongeBob).

I did not list all of the admirable traits of SpongeBob Squarepants, because there are many different new things that we learn about SpongeBob in each tiny 11 minute episode. What I do know, is that SpongeBob, while having certain undesirable traits (annoying, curious stupidity), his good traits far outweigh the bad. Optimism is something that SpongeBob bases his entire life off of, and that is why I admire him so much. I will forever have a place for SpongeBob and his Optimism, Bravery, Compassion, Kindness, Generosity, and Relentlessness.

Mickey Mouse Wallpaper - A Mouse Stuck in Time

Mickey Mouse is now some 80 years old and seemingly the ravages of time have not left a mark on him. A couple of makeovers have left him a little rotund and to many a little misshapen. He has steadfastly refused to update his wardrobe and stuck with the clothes that have seen him through the triumphs and disasters visited on the world that he inhabits over the decades of his life. But do you know what - he doesn't look at all bad on it!

His main film work seems to have dried up of late and he hasn't had the offer a movie in over three years. He suffered the ignominy of having his last one go straight to video but he has managed to put a brave face on things and indeed that face remains one of the most iconic images in the world today even beating Santa to that particular record. His employers Disney threw a big a massive party for the Mickey's 75th birthday a few years back so his has decided hold back on any further large extravaganzas for the time being.

Somewhat strangely Mickey's story started with a rabbit - Oswald the Lucky Rabbit to be precise. Back in the mists of time Disney Brothers Studio was just part Universal Pictures' animation. Walt Disney created Oswald in 1927 his round, white face, big button nose and floppy black ears made him an instant hit and Universal approved a series of shorts. Walt Disney met the Universal executives in 1928 with a view to negotiating a new contract. Oswald was still riding high in the charts and Disney assumed that a deal on his terms would be cut and dried. The studio had other ideas and informed him told him that it had hired away all of his employees whilst retaining the complete artistic rights to Oswald. The studio offered to keep Disney on but only if he took a salary cut which he of course refused.

He and Ub Iwerks the one animator who stayed loyal to Disney, started on a session of brainstorming sessions burning the midnight oil to come up with a replacement for Oswald. Oswald's ears were shortened, some extra padding around the middle, and low and behold the rabbit tuned into a mouse originally as we all new named Mortimer. This name didn't last and he became known as Mickey Mouse.

The first two Mickey shorts were not successful but then came Steamboat Willy a cutting edge animation - the first to feature synchronized music and sound effects to hit the big screen. The film fist premiered in New York on Nov. 18, 1928 and was immediately acclaimed a huge success. A series of Mickey Mouse shorts soon appeared including, Plane Crazy which actually predated Steamboat Willy. Mickey Mouse became a national icon by the end of the year and it was then that Walt Disney propelled the mouse to true superstar status by starting up a line of Mickey merchandise and not long after the Mickey Mouse Club was formed.

In 1935 Mickey his first makeover by an animator called Fred Moore, earlier Mickey had been drawn as a series of circles which was somewhat restrictive to his movement Moore, who later went on to animate Fantasia's Sorcerer's, innovatively gave him a pear-shaped body, pupils, white gloves and a shortened nose with express intention of making him cuter. Mickey also appeared in colour for the first time that year.

By the time that 1937 came around Disney Studios was producing Mickey Mouse shorts at the rate of one a month. Disney himself was providing the mouse's distinctive high-pitched voice. Mickey went on to reflect the world in all it's various guises, becoming at various stages a football hero, a hunter, a tailor, and even a symphony conductor. He rescued Pluto from the dog pound, crashed his car, fell behind on his rent, enlisted in the army and had his house repossessed. By this time his life companion Minnie had arrived on the scene and she was always being captured by dastardly villains always later being rescued by Mickey of course, the epitome of the all American hero.

In the 1950s Mickey had his own theme park and newspaper comic strip, and he had branched out on to the new up and coming medium television. Sadly for Mickey Mouse, block buster Disney feature films like Bambi and Sleeping Beauty began to take the accolades and poor old Mickey began to fade away. There was an enforced retirement of 30 years between 1953 with the cartoon short The Simple Things and the 1983 Christmas special Mickey's Christmas Carol.

Yet despite all this Mickey's ears are still one of the most famous cultural icons of the 20th and 21st centuries. He has posed for photographs with almost every U.S. President whilst the sale of Mickey Mouse merchandise have declined from their all time high in 1997 they still make up a staggering 40% of the company's consumable revenue.

Mickey's last appearance the big screen was a cameo performance in the 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit along with Warner Brothers' Bugs Bunny. Such was the ego of both these characters that equal on screen time was insisted upon for each. He was even printed on a t-shirt and stretched across Sarah Jessica Parker's chest for an episode of Sex in the City and our Mickey has entered the fashionable boutique world. In 2002, he mad an appearance in the PlayStation2 video game Kingdom Hearts.

All in all Mickey Mouse still manages to pull in an audience even one used to all the kit and caboodle of our technocratic. Not bad for an 80 year old...

Mickey Mouse - A Reflection of Walt Disney

Mention the name Walt Disney and one cannot help but imagine images of superior animation, magnificent theme parks, an entertainment and financial empire and the little guy who started it all -Mickey Mouse.

In 1928, Walt Disney had run into bad times while working in Kansas City. Most of his hired animators had left him and went to work for a competing studio. Things looked bleak, but out of a desperate situation came a new character. Inspired by a mouse that prowled his office, that at one point Disney could not afford cheese to feed it anymore, Mickey Mouse was born. Mickey Mouse is now the most recognizable cartoon in the world. His lasting appeal to people of all nations is one of the great phenomena's of the twentieth century. The question of why Mickey Mouse has been so successful has been discussed from time to time. Some debate that it is because he was one of the first seriously animated characters. Others say the manner in which he is drawn is unique compared to other cartoons. Although the success of Mickey Mouse seems to be a mystery to many, his success is the representation of the value of Walt Disney.

In this essay I will look at Mickey Mouse using the value analysis critique. Value analysis is the identifying of a value or values that define a culture or a person. So in this paper I will look specifically at what value Mickey Mouse represents and why that value has made him into the most successful cartoon character in the world.

The optimism of Mickey Mouse comes from that of his creator, Walt Disney. In an interview, Walt Disney said the following:

"Sometimes I've tried to figure out why Mickey appealed to the whole world. Everybody's tried to figure it out. So far as I know, nobody has. He's a pretty nice fellow who never does anybody harm, who gets into scrapes through no fault of his own, but always manages to come up grinning."

Mickey "always manages to come up grinning" because Disney learned how to "come up grinning."

Looking at the all the times in Walt Disney's life when he was down, one can see that nothing could ever stop him because he always got back up. Growing up on the farm in Marceline, Missouri his family had their share of bad times. Two years in a row the crops failed and Disney's father, Elias, had to mortgage the farm. Then the well where the Disney family and the livestock got their water became contaminated. After swine fever had hit the hog herd, Elias became extremely ill with typhoid. He hovered between life and death for several weeks at the hospital. Walt's older brother Roy enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War I and Walt, being inspired by his brother but still being a year too young to enlist, persuaded a Red Cross recruiter to let him join up. Walt was shipped off to France in October 1918, when the war was practically over. However, he saw the devastated lands over which the war had been fought. He spent ten months in France and told friends that it constituted "a lifetime of experience."

In the fall of 1919 Disney tried to get a job as a newspaper cartoonist in Kansas City but was turned down by all the papers. He became discouraged but remained determined, and got a job at the Pesmen-Rubin Commercial Art Studio. There he became friends with a Dutchman named Ub Iwerks. A few weeks after Christmas, both of them were laid off and Disney and Iwerks decided to "come up grinning" and go into business for themselves. They got a job in February, 1920 at the Kansas City Film Ad Company.

Disney began to experiment with animation and gradually completed several cartoons that he shipped off to local theaters. He approached the owner of the Film Ad Company, A. Vern Cauger, with a suggestion to develop a series of cartoon shorts. His idea was rejected, so Disney decided to "come up" again and break out on his own. He collected $15,000 from local investors and used the money to assemble a small studio with a working crew. Walt joined with his brother Roy as business partners to eventually establish the three-room Disney Brother Studios in Los Angeles.

Walt signed a contract with New York distributor, Margaret Winkler, and her backer, Universal Studios, for one series and an option for two more of "Alice's Wonderland." An animated comedy that featured a live-action six year old filmed in a cartoon setting. The initial contract called for one cartoon per month. In 1924, Margaret Winkler's husband, Charles Mintz, took over the distribution company and demanded one film every three weeks. In 1926 with a steady income, a new studio was built and a new animated character, named Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, was developed. He debuted in 1927 and became a great success. In 1928 the current Oswald contract expired and Mintz concocted a scheme to make Disney and his studio fold over to him, slowly luring away the majority of Walt's staff. Disney negotiated with Mintz for a new contract, and was stunned when Mintz offered him less money and told him to take it or leave it. Within days, most of Disney's other animators went to work for Mintz also. Roy Disney was very upset and asked his brother, "Do you realize what sort of situation we are in? We've lost our animators and it looks like we'll lose our studio." Facing the first major crisis of his career with a "grin," Walt held secret brainstorming sessions with Ub Iwerks, and his brother Roy. At a time when things seemed to be at their worst, here emerged Mickey Mouse.

Like his creator, Mickey also had his share of hard times and was able to always get back up. In 1928, Mickey starred in his first film, "Plane Crazy" and then followed "Gallopin' Gaucho." His third film was a breakthrough innovation that incorporated sound for the first time called "Steamboat Willie." In "Steamboat Willie" Mickey gets into a "scrape" with the captain but tries to remain confident and pretend he is not afraid of the captain when his expression sometimes dictates otherwise. Even in the earliest of cartoon shorts Mickey does not back down from his problems. There were many times in Walt's life when he was faced with a scary situation but chose to keep his head up and move forward. "Mickey didn't seek trouble, and he didn't complain; he rolled with the punches...as in "The Little Tailor," he showed warrior resourcefulness and won, once again, a kiss from dear,...Minnie." Mickey Mouse's relentlessness to remain optimistic when confronting the struggle was drawn into him by Walt Disney's pen.

The personality of Mickey Mouse is that of his author, Walt Disney. As a young man, Walt Disney always impressed friends and family alike "with his mischievous curiosity and fun-loving nature." His younger sister Ruth took note that he had an engaging personality and "was always thinking of ideas." She said that throughout his whole life, "Walt always seemed like a kid to me." Mickey is the kind of fellow who is always playing around and playing jokes. The entire concept of the creation of Disneyland and Disneyworld, the two major theme parks, and its spokesman, Mickey Mouse, is to inspire people to keep the wonder, youth and fun of life alive and well in everyone. Walt Disney always seemed like a kid to his sister, Ruth, and so does Mickey Mouse. A cartoon never grows old and never changes with age, it never dies. When Ub Iwerks was shown Walt's preliminary sketches of Mickey he said, "he looks just like you--same nose, same face, same whiskers, same gestures and expressions. All he needs now is your voice." Walt admitted that he would look in the mirror and use his face as a model and that many of the facial expressions were his." Mickey's appealing charisma of youth and joy to make others happy comes from the imaginations of Walt Disney's desire to make others happy.

Mickey Mouse's perseverance to succeed is why he is so appealing. In America the majority of people were all the "little guy." The decade that preceded Mickey Mouse, America lived through World War I, and a year after Mickey was created came the Great Depression. The distance that separated the rich from the poor was immense. There wasn't much in between. In contrast, the number of poor and middle-class incomes greatly outnumbered those on the higher end of the social ladder. Walt Disney had also lived along with America during these difficult times as well. Disney had always been the "little guy." He was always getting picked on by Hollywood and tried to be taken advantage of. He speaks of when he was dismally poor in his tiny office of Kansas City and one of his friends was a little mouse. He states "It used to crawl across my desk and I'd feed it bits of cheese. I got quite fond of it and looked forward to its visits." Disney was with nothing but a mouse to look forward to. "It would take the cheese right out of my fingers and then curl up and go to sleep in the palm of my hand," he said. Then there came a period when he could not even afford cheese for the mouse any longer. In those hard times Disney remained determined that he would make his dreams come true as well as everyone else in America also desired.

When the time came that Walt Disney became successful in the creation of Mickey Mouse he could not help but put the very same value characteristic into that mouse that Disney had in himself. Disney knew that he had become a success because he decided to never give up. He decided to take the value of "never quitting" and put it into animated form. Mickey Mouse is an animated creation of the value of "never quitting." Mickey Mouse is so appealing as a cartoon because people in America and all over the world recognize that value to never quit in Mickey. The value of Mickey Mouse is a direct representation of that same value of Walt Disney. The greatest human achievement possible is getting back up just one more time. Anyone who possesses this quality can never be defeated and can do anything. People pick up on that and can feel it in the personality of Mickey Mouse. People want to be like Mickey Mouse and that is why he is so likeable.

Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney are the same exact value. "There's a lot of Mouse in me," Disney said of himself. They both are huge successes. Disney's success came from the worldwide appeal of Mickey Mouse. Mickey's success came from the worldwide appeal of Walt Disney.

In analyzing Mickey Mouse as the text that has permanently become a global phenomenon, and then his creator, the value of "never quitting" is easily identified as the one they both have in common. It is the value that they and the people that admire them also have in common. It answers the question of why Mickey Mouse has become so successful. He is the embodiment of Walt Disney's character. They both had extremely difficult times in their lives just like the majority of people do at some period during theirs. They both endured the hard times because they knew eventually they would become successful. People identify with both of them because they too know they will become successful sooner or later by exercising the same value of "never quitting."

Disney Princesses - The Top 10 Disney Princesses

Over the years Disney has created a lot of princesses, but not all of the princesses are what you would consider popular. One thing that you will notice in looking at the top 10 Disney princesses that have been created over the years is that Disney is the oldest princesses are still some of the most popular princesses, despite the improvements that Disney is making to each new princess that they create.

1. Snow White is the oldest of the Disney princesses, but she is still one of the most favorite princesses around. A Disney Snow White Dress is a very popular item inside Disneyland, but you can also find a Disney Snow White Dress inside many other retail stores. Little girls love the Disney Snow White Dress because it allows them to transform into the princess who despite being cursed by an evil stepmother ends up having her dreams come true.

2. Cinderella is another one of the classic Disney princesses, but one who remains quite popular today. Inside Disneyland, you will see quite a few little girls dressed up in a Disney Cinderella dress because of how much she is adored. A Disney Cinderella dress inside the park is going to be quite expensive with how in demand it is, so you are better off buying a Disney Cinderella dress from an outside retailer.

3. Sleeping Beauty is another classic princess who has never faded in popularity, although she is not as popular as Cinderella and Snow White many girls love dressing up in a Disney Sleeping Beauty Dress. However, the Disney Sleeping Beauty Dress is one of the hardest dresses to find, especially at retail stores. Your best chance for finding a Disney Sleeping Beauty dress is to look online or buy one inside the park.

4. Ariel from The little Mermaid is another popular Disney princess, while she is not a classic princess she is not one of the newest ones either. Ariel is different from other Disney princesses because she is a mermaid throughout most of the movie, but she also has more character to her than the classic princesses do.

5. Bell from Beauty and the Beast is another princess similar to Ariel. She is not a classic princess, but she has been around for years. One of the best things about Belle is that she is not just another pretty face; she also enjoys reading, and she is pictured in the beginning of the movie as a rather plain girl, although still very pretty.

6. Jasmine is the first Disney princess to feature in a story that did not feature the princess as the main character. Another unique feature about Jasmine is that she was the first Disney princess that wasn't Caucasian, which helps her stand out in addition to her beauty.

7. Pocahontas is one of the most popular Disney princesses because she is based on a real person. Something else that makes Pocahontas stand out from the other princesses is that she doesn't end up living happily ever after with her prince.

8. Princess Giselle from the Disney film Enchanted is another popular princess in the making. The best part about this princess is she finds true love in both of her worlds, and somehow manages to make everything turn out right so that everybody gets their happily ever after.

9. Tiana is the newest of the Disney princesses and she is the first African American princess to be featured in a Disney movie. Tiana is one of the greatest Disney princesses because of her love and compassion for others, which is shown through her willingness to help the frog in the beginning of the movie.

10. Mulan would have to be the last princess included on this list, despite the fact that she is not a true princess. However, in the story of Mulan she does get to live her happily ever after even though she does fight in a war. She is also a great heroine to look up to because of how brave and loyal she is.

Hello Kitty Wallpaper - Hello Kitty Conquers the World

If you've never heard, seen or worn "Hello Kitty," you may have been living in a cave over the past decade. Hello Kitty has become an international fashion and marketing phenomena, spanning every continent and breaking sales records in department stores around the world. But exactly who is this adorable, mouth-less "kitty" that has captured the hearts and minds of so many adoring fans?

Hello Kitty was originally created in the 1970's by Japanese company Sanrio, and is the company's most famous fictional character. The kitten-like animation was originally developed under the name "Kitty White," but this name was never used commercially. The character was first marketed in the United States and has been an unofficial ambassador for the charity, UNICEF since 1983.

The Hello Kitty brand became much more prominent during the late 90s when celebrities began adopting Hello Kitty fashion in their wardrobes, with Mariah Carey being one prominent example.

Today Hello Kitty Merchandise stocks the shelves of nearly all American department stores and the Hello Kitty character has even been featured in advertising campaigns buy retail giants like Target in the US. Products such as Hello Kitty bedding, the Hello Kitty wrist watch line, and the much sought-after Hello Kitty digital camera are just a few of the plethora of goods offered in a Hello Kitty version.

Among American celebrities sporting the Hello Kitty brand, Cameron Diaz, Carmen Electra, Heidi Klum, Christina Aguilera, Steven Tyler, Mandy Moore, and Raven Symoné lead the list. Paris and Nicky Hilton have also been photographed wearing the Hello Kitty brand, as has pop-singer Lisa Loeb, who is currently promoting the hot-pink "Hello Kitty guitar."

Females are by far the largest market for Hello Kitty products. And at times it seems their appetite for Hello Kitty products is insatiable. There's a new Hello Kitty Robot, for example, equipped with both face and voice recognition, and the ability to dance around while talking to its owner. And let's not forget the newly-released Hello Kitty debit card.

Nearly any product you can think of has (or soon will be) branded with the Hello Kitty logo. But what is really behind this worldwide obsession? What exactly is the appeal of Hello Kitty, especially to females?

Part of the answer could lie in the mystery of Hello Kitty's back-story. Kitty appears to be asexual and his/her character profile is kept vague -- this allows fans to attribute any characteristics they like onto Kitty, instilling the character with their own values, emotions and backgrounds.

Not only does Hello Kitty appear to have no distinguishable sexual characteristics, it also has no obvious ethnicity. Fans tend to "adopt" Hello Kitty into their own ethnicity, age group, likes and dislikes, and perhaps that's part of Kitty's charm.

As you would expect, Hello Kitty does have an official bio, but it appears vague almost to the point of being mysterious. In any case, the huge worldwide success of the character does not seem affected in the least by what we know about him/her.

As Kitty is fond of saying "You can never have too many friends." And with a world wide branding juggernaut that has made inroads in every major market across the globe, Hello Kitty will likely never have to worry about not having enough friends.

angry birds wallpaper - Angry Birds Are Everywhere

Originally created and published as an application for the Apple iPhone, it wasn't long before the game's instant popularity demanded expansion into other smartphone devices, like Android. Since it was first created, the game has sold more than 12 million Apple apps alone, making it one of the highest selling mobile apps ever. Followers of the game have created social media pages, websites, and other groups all dedicated to spreading tips, strategies and Angry Bird frenzy. As a result, it can be found everywhere.

The Angry Birds game however, is not just another mindless, or violence driven form of entertainment. This game requires strategy, logic and intense concentration. Players must engage in 120 levels of of battle, wits and carefully planned revenge in order to take on the angry bird foes. If clicking a mouse as cards flyby is your idea of a good time then this game could be too involved for you. In addition to spatial reasoning, and brute force, the game also requires players to use challenging physic-based strategy to defeat the angry birds' enemies. If you want to be entertained and mentally challenged, this game can be an excellent way to spend your free time, or even improve some of your long-neglected gaming skills.

Like the name suggests, these birds are seriously angry. Their enemies the green pigs have stolen their precious eggs with the intention of eating them! This has clearly made the birds less than happy. Now they are on a mission to enact revenge, kick some green pig butt, and get all of their unborn offspring back in one piece. Acting as the angry birds, players must use cunning, skill and military-like strategy to defeat the green pigs. The birds can do this by using their one-of-a-kind powers of destruction, to destroy the pig's fortified castles. However, the pigs will not give up the eggs easily or quickly, as there are 120 different levels of revenges. Players must be committed to their mission in order to succeed. Of course, pausing and or saving your place in the game is also a good option, since even angry birds need to take a break every now and then.

Everyone's Talking About Angry Birds - What Is It?

In the game Angry Birds, a person attempts throwing reddish colored birds at wicked, greenish pigs to take back the birds' lost gold eggs.

Right now there are various forms of birds in which one may throw at the structures. You are assigned a pre-programmed number to hurt the tower system with, and in the event that you are capable to do this, you will probably finish the level you are on.

Various constructions are more challenging to topple over than some others. For instance, wood can topple over to basically any kind of bird. Even so, a sturdy one such as a rock will likely under no circumstances tumble whether or not you throw most of your current birds at the block.

The gameplay appears uninteresting, however it truly is in fact incredibly exciting. The pigs are housed by structures built of diverse resources like rock, timber, and ice. You shoot the creatures by using a slingshot, and assuming a person strikes the tower system, you instill destruction.

The developers applied a score process for every single stage that will you conquer. Determined by the amount of score points you bring in, you will probably be given a number 1 to 3. 3 is the greatest, one of the major marketing details of the game is that you could continue actively playing until finally you earn 3 stars on every single stage.

The builders of Angry Birds Online initially had not a clue exactly what video game they were planning to develop. These people had been shown with the design of the tiny birds having no arms or limbs. These kinds of minor birds ended up being so stunning that the makers made a decision to construct a complete online game simply based off the birds!

The release of Angry Birds, accompanied by Angry Birds Online, was in January 2009. In the beginning, as with a good number of game titles, extremely few folks picked up on it initially.

Near the middle of the calendar year; surprisingly, Angry Birds Online began to get famous. An increasing number of phone owners ended up installing it, and it climbed to the leading 100 in the app shop. After that, it traveled right to number one in a couple of months.

The coders then started to grow really quickly and doubled their workforce. In a few months, Angry Birds was out there on both the Android and Blackberry OS. Exclusive seasonal editions have likewise recently been unveiled. It has been there since then.

As opposed to nearly all video games, which often become well-known and then forgotten about inside of a four week period, Angry Birds is said to be the most profitable cellular video game in existence. With more than twelve million installs, you can certainly guess the designers are generating quite a bit of cash on the idea also.

Angry Birds also gets people to recommend it to each other. The graphics are great, and the game requires that you hold your smartphone sideways. By default, people are going to want to see what you are doing out of curiosity. Games such as Doodle Jump only make it so that you have to hold it face up. Holding it like a phone will make people not look because it might be considered snobby if you are looking at their personal information.

Collectively, good game play with Angry Birds Online and excellent promo by the builders has produced a huge accomplishment. Assume Angry Birds to be an innovator in cellular video games for a minimum of the upcoming 12 months. Even if you don't have a cell phone, Angry Birds is available pretty much on any gaming console.

Shaun the Sheep wallpaper - Shaun's First Appearance

Shaun the Sheep made his first "official" appearance in Wallace & Gromit's third short feature, the Academy Award winning A Close Shave as the youngest member of a flock of sheep Wallace and Gromit work to save from an evil mechanical dog that wants to turn them all into dog food for profit. Shaun does show a hint of intelligence, though he proves to be a big factor in saving the day. Shaun and the entire herd are also seen living with the inventive duo (much to Wallace's annoyance since they eat everything in sight, including furniture and clothes as well as his beloved cheese), though none of this seems to be part of this series' canon, or it can be surmised Wallace simply sold off the flock to The Farmer where Shaun and his friends now reside.

Shaun also made a brief cameo appearance with the duo in one of the episodes (entitled "Shopper 13") of Wallace & Gromit's "Cracking Contraptions" web series of shorts.

Shaun the Sheep

Shaun the Sheep

Shaun the Sheep is a British stop-motion animated children's television series produced by Aardman Animations, and commissioned by the BBC and the WDR. It first aired in the UK on CBBC in March 2007. The show consists of 80 episodes in 2 seasons, and is currently in hiatus.
A premise of the series is that Shaun the sheep exhibits human intelligence, creativity, and behaviour in a farm setting, which usually provides a situational comedy conflict which Shaun must resolve before the end of each episode. Recurring themes include the characters evading the sheepdog Bitzer (though he is sometimes with the sheep in their escapades) and avoiding discovery by the Farmer.
Episodes are very much a combination of slapstick and classic silent comedy in Aardman’s recognizable animation style. There is no spoken dialogue, even by human characters. In this way it is reminiscent of silent comedy films and even Pingu and the animated version of Mr. Bean. However, simple grunts, bleats, and sighs are all used to add subtle expression to each character's moods and feelings.

Shin Chan Cartoons wallpaper

The latest craze amongst today's younger lot is Shin Chan. Shin Chan is one of the most popular Japanese cartoon series aired across the world. This cartoon series has been dubbed in many languages since it is shown over many countries. Different countries have named the series in their own language and mood to suit the entertainment of the people of their country. Hence, this cartoon can be said to have achieved global popularity and even adults like it a lot. Today, it has become one of the widely viewed cartoons that has global viewership and rights.
Crayon Shin Chan is the name of the cartoon character who is the main lead of the series. The whole cartoon series mainly revolves around this one character along with other popular character as well. Every episode has a new story built around this character. The entire screenplay, dialogue and the mood of the series is really good and captivating.
Shin Chan is not as innocent as he may seem to be. He often uses rude remarks, impolite language, misbehaves with his mother, teacher and friends. Overall, it can be said that young children might not learn really good things from the cartoon. Shin Chan has become an inspiration for the younger lot, but this inspiration has strong tendencies in creating negative impact on children in many ways.
SC is really enjoyed by adults as well. Moreover, it can be said that it is more of a series that is apt for teenagers as compared to younger children. As mentioned before, Shin Chan indulges in a lot of crude and insane behavior which might not be morally right for children. Teenagers have grown out of the age, so they may not take such an impact as younger children would do.
SC is becoming a role model for children. Children really enjoy the antics and moods created by this character and try to copy his doings as much as they can. However, children below 10 years of age could really be negatively affected by such a cartoon character who displays inappropriate behavior. If children start copying such behavior, such as being rude to their parents, disrespecting other family members or pulling down pants in the classroom, what would become of our kids?
When Shin Chan cartoon series is aired on TV, it is usually stated that it is not meant for children under fourteen just like for adult cartoons like South Park and Simpsons. However, that restriction is hardly far away from limiting the kids' viewership on television. Shin Chan is indeed popular amongst adults, but children love it too. They are actually too naïve to understand and appreciate the satire and comedy that an adult or perhaps a teenager might enjoy. Kids will however take it in some irrational way and try to model the behavior in some way or the other.
