We're back in town!

Well, we've been back since Wednesday, BUT! I've been busy cleaning and getting all of our clothes and stuff put away. (My house looked like a frat house when I got back. WHOLE other story!)

I originally planned on staying in San Diego for a week but that one week turned into 3 weeks.

We had an amazing time! Everyone got to meet Lex (I know, he's 2 and still hasn't met my family) and of course everyone loved him, who couldn't love that wild boy. I got to hang out with my mom and my lovely cousin and her daughter.

I forgot how much I loved my home town. The whole way back I wanted to jump out of the car and run back to San Diego.

I needed that trip, I needed family. I don't have family in AZ besides Juan and his step dad (Man, is my side of the family different) It was good to relax and have a few laughs.
Who knows I might end up convincing Juan and moving to San Diego for good.

I have tons, TONS, of pictures. I'll slowly post them up as the week goes.
Sorry if I haven't been in contact with some of you. I promise I'll catch up with everything.

Taking a trip

So me and Lex are going to San Diego!

Finally.

We were originally going by car but we figured out it was cheaper and much faster to go by plane.

This is going to be Lex's first airplane ride, he's already excited. I ask him what he wants to do when we get there and he says "Mum, I go the BETCHH!" and by betch he means beach...

I can imagine him now... The whole airplane ride he's going to tell everyone he's going to the betch :l

I'm so nervous about traveling by ourselves (Juan isn't going). The flight isn't even long, it takes 1 hour to get from Tucson to San Diego but I can picture myself dragging a huge car seat, a ton of luggage and a squirmy toddler around the airport.

I'm not going to take my stroller since I have an enormous jogger and I'm pretty positive I can't drag that huge thing around.

Do you girls have any tips on traveling with a toddler?

I was thinking of buying one of these car seat attachments, have any of you used it or something like it?

I want to make our trip as easy and stress free as possible, so if you have any tips they are greatly, GREATLY appreciated!

It was Juan's birthday yesterday so we all went out to lunch.

We were craving sweet tomatoes but we got lazy and ended going to chilis since it's closer to our house.

I had fajitas(YUM!) I was enjoying my little fajita tacos until I noticed some old man a staring at me and I got kinda creeped out. Weird!

Lex was enjoying himself more than his dad, he was giving the waitresses little flirty eyes and smirking at them from across the room. Seriously Lex? You're two dude, not twenty.

My kid is turning into a big ladies man. I realized I can make big bucks off this kid. I'm going to set up a kissing booth and Lex can sit there all day and make mama some monayy!

I should just start taking offers for arranged marriage.

E.L.F Haul - Part 1 (Long Post)

So I recently bought some stuff from E.L.F

They are celebrating there 7th birthday so they have been having some really good sales

I made two orders one on a 50% off studio line (this haul)

and one last week when they had a 60% off store wide.

For all of you who haven't tried E.L.F

you should really try it.

They have really good products and amazing prices.

They have so many sales and discount codes you will rarely pay retail for their products.

Ok so onto the haul...

Alright so first off. My order took about a week and a half to arrive. I personally think they could of processed it a little faster but, whatever.
I love their packaging! My order came in a box, I've heard some people complain about receiving items in a bag so some of their items arrive broken, Luckily that didn't happen to my items.
The studio line's packaging is very nice, the blushes and powders come in matte black packaging similar to NARS... I luv it!

Mineral Face Primer- I like it so far, It hasn't made me break out but it is a little oily. The packaging is nice but the lid is kinda flimsy so it keeps popping off.

Studio HD Powder- I love this! It only comes in translucent, I'm always kinda nervous when I buy powder in a translucent shade because it can make my skin look ashy and cakey but this powder is so lightweight and a little goes a looong way. I'm using this with the flat top powder brush I bought and I love the way it makes my face look. It minimizes my pores and fine lines around my eyes. I'm really diggin this product. The packaging is nice but if you're not careful when getting product it will get everywhere.

Studio Concealer in Beige- I'm kinda iffy with this, I like the color and the coverage is fine but I would like it to be a little creamier and it is a little on the small side. The packaging is matte black just like the other studio line items.

Studio Blush in Twinkle Pink- This blush is so pretty! I know you can't tell from the pictures but It has small golden glitter flecks in it. It doesn't really look like the color that is shown on the website, it's a little peachier.

Studio Blush in Mellow Mauve- This is a nice raspberry shade, It's very nicely pigmented. I know I will be using this often.

Studio Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20- I like this for everyday use when I'm at home or having a chill day. The coverage is nice and it's not oily but I think it's a little orangey, I should of bought this in porcelain to compare both of them... Oh well maybe next time.

Zit Zapper- I read about this product on THIS blog. It's smells kind of strong. I put it on a small blemish, It stung and like I said the smell is pretty strong but It did reduce the redness and swelling. I haven't used this too much since my skin is clear right now but I'll let you guys know if it works in the future.

Essential Beauty Book in Neutral- I love neutral colors and this palette is perfect! The colors are beautiful, the darker ones are highly pigmented, some of the lighter shades are kind of sheer but I think they would work great with a base. This retails for $5.00... I bought it for $2.50, you cannot beat that price!
Studio Endless Eyes Pro Mini Eyeshadow Palette- This palette is decent, It has nice color choices but the pigmentation is really that nice. Some of the eye shadows are very dull and a little chalky. The packaging is nice and It comes in another small box for extra protection but who cares about the packaging if the actual product isn't that great right. I might try these with a bright white base like NYX jumbo pencil in Milk or a paint pot and see how I like them. I also bought this for $2.50 so It's not like I lost too much.
Studio Gel Liner in Black- I love this eyeliner, It smooth and the color is amazing! It lasted all day without flaking. I really recommend this product, It was one of my favorite items.
Studio Eyebrow Lifter & Filler- ehhh... I liked the highlighter the actual brow filler was horrible, I hate the color, on my skin (since I'm super yellow) it looked kinda greenish, yeah greenish... who knows why. Not pleased with it at all.
Studio Eyebrow Kit in Ash- I picked the wrong color so I can't even review this unless I want to walk around with black hair and Blondie eyebrows... btw- If anyone wants this, its up for grabs, let me know and you can haz ;p

Studio Glossy Gloss in Sweet Salmon- This bottle is so cute and small! I like the color and if you can't tell by the name it's a nice shiny salmon color. It looks nothing like the online picture... NOTHING!

Conditioning Lip Balm with SPF 15 in Peaceful Pink- The I like the packaging a lot! It's perfect for your purse or diaper bag... whatever. The color is nice and it's very smooth and sheer. It does wear off pretty fast but It's so easy to apply, it's not even a concern.

Brush Shampoo- I have already used this on my older brushes. It really does a great job of cleaning even the most stubborn color out of brushes. I really like this product. You only need a tiny bit on each brush.
Last but not least...
11 Piece Studio Brushes- I'm not going to go through them one by one but I will tell you my overall opinion and my favorite brushes.
I really liked the flat powder brush, the eyeshadow C brush, and the contour eye brush.
The flat powder brush is perfect for so many uses, blush, powder, bronzer... I've seen some girls use it for foundation like the stippling brush.
The eyeshadow C brush is perfect for packing on color and it's perfect for smokey eyes! The contour eye brush is great for highlighting your brow bone or blending colors.
Overall the brushes are an amazing purchase, I was a little skeptical but they are an amazing value. I bought them a half price so I got them all for 15 dollars. They come in a little travel case, the travel case itself it a cheap little bag but It does come in handy when you are traveling or just storing them. All the brushes are very soft and most of them are pretty full, the only brush I didn't really care for was the blush brush, I think It's a little small, It could be a little fuller but I like using really big brushes for powder and blush... that's just me.
If you can just buy one thing from E.L.F I say buy the brush set, you won't regret it.

Like I said in the Beginning of the post, your rarely have to pay retail for their items, just sign up for their newsletter and wait for the big sales, they do have them often.

All of these items retail for $98.00 I paid $59.00 with shipping.

I'm sorry If I bored you with this extremely long post & sorry but I didn't do any swatches... I already to forever just typing this up, seriously I have no clue how beauty bloggers do it. Talk about tiring!

So I finally went to the Optometrist last week to get my new prescription.

The second I got home... meh, well not really, I had to get my pupils dilated so I couldn't see sh*t for a couple hours (It sucked, I stubbed my toe a few times)

Our gloomy 4th of July

I was supposed to get back to blogging last week, but I failed, miserably...

I don't even have an excuse for last week, I have a ton of stuff I need to blog about and now I'm way behind just because of laziness. I've been completely out of the blogging loop, no twitter, no reading blogs, I checked my reader last night and I had a 1000+ unread items :l

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend.

The weather in Tucson was wack! Seriously, I love the rain, rain beats the AZ heat any day, but I was pretty bummed since I planned on taking Lex to the pool and we wanted to have a small bbq with some friends.

It was sunny in the early morning and by noon it got humid and cloudy.

I thought the fireworks were going to be canceled but luckily it stopped raining at night (thanks mother nature)

Wishing I was at the beach...

My poor Kiddo hasn't been dealing with the AZ heat too well. It has been so hot lately! we made our regular trip to the park this morning but we didn't even last 15 minutes. It was 9 a.m and it was already hot. We decided to get a shaved ice (they just opened a shop down the street) and head on home. Lex is pretty pale so when he gets hot, you can definitly tell, his red cheeks lasted a good half hour. We put the a/c on blast and chilled on the couch eating our bubble gum shaved ice and watched Gnomeo and Juliet.

I was getting ready to go for a jog but...

Someone decided to borrow mommy's running shoes.

Maybe he can do my workout too?

I can never do 30 day shred while he's awake because he stands on my feet, tries to take my weights, gets a running speed and throws himself on me when I'm doing floor work, he even screams at me to stop and sit (when he says it, it sounds like he's saying "STOOPID!")

But when I go for a jog and I sit him in his jogger, he's so quiet, you can't even tell he's there.

30 Day Shred- Week 3

So I'm officially on Week 3 of 30 day shred. I lost two more pounds and I can definitely notice the change in my arms. That is really keeping me motivated and it's really pushing to keep going.

Level two is kicking my ass... I feel like a 90 year old smoker again, so I switch it up between level 1 and 2, but I try to do two level 1 workouts when I do level 1.

There are days where I try to make up excuses to not work out and lollygag all day, but I know I can't give up so even if I have to do the shred at 2 am, I push myself to do it. The latest I've done it was at 2! I took a shower after I was done and I was drowsing off in the shower. I slept like a baby that night.

What I've done this week:

- Switched to soy milk. I already used soy milk and almond milk for smoothies but mostly used 2% cows milk for everything else.

- I tried to walk to the stores but holy guacamole it's been hot around here... Like 104 kinda hot! So I'll stick with our walk to the park for now.

-I bought a juicer, realized juicing is not for me, I'm going to try it again... maybe?

- Picked healthy snacks. I ate a lot of different fruit instead of my usual chips and salsa

Goals for the Week:

- Reduce the amount of cheese I eat, seriously... I have a bad addiction to pepper jack.

- Don't eat past 6pm. I'm a late night snacker, I'm usually not even hungry. Just bored.

- I would like to build up my stamina, I still get tired pretty fast. I know if I push myself a little more each day, I will get better.

- Last but not least and most important! I need to eat because I'm hungry, not because I'm bored. I need to learn the difference!

Keep going ladies! I really want to see all of you succeed!

I always feel so awkward whenever I take selfies, I feel like they always look like those cheesy myspace pictures. Some ladies rock at taking self portraits... Not this lady!

I just bought a shutter release for my camera and I was testing it out, so of course Lex couldn't resist getting in on some of the selfie action.
He Loves getting some camera time.

Weird sidenote (like always)- I dye my hair black, but I have to fill my eyebrows in with a light ash and then go over them really lightly with like a dark gray... If I use black, or grey, or even dark brown my eyebrows look so crazy! I look like I have a mad case of bitch face. I want to try an eyebrow powder, maybe?

I can't leave him alone for a second...

I was cleaning the kitchen last night and Lex being Lex thought it was the perfect time to take everything out of my purse, he kept asking me what everything was continued by a "I can has dis?".. Umm no, Lex you can't have my tampons, thanks for asking. (what a polite kid I have right?)

Point is he was driving me crazy, so I take him to the living room and put on Toy Story.

He sits down immediately, "WOW! MOOPIE!" "WOODY!" he starts yelling like always.

Thank you baby Jesus! I can finally have a few minutes of silence.

Btw, you know you're a mom when you think cleaning the kitchen is therapeutic...

Ok, back to the story

I can still hear him talking to the TV and laughing like a mad man, so I'm not worried.

A couple minutes pass and I hear him taking things out of what I thought was the toy basket...

He even came and said hi to me and ran back to the living room, this is when I should of been suspicious right?

I go check on him and my things are scattered EVERYWHERE!

and I see little hot pink smudges on the TV, the coffee table, my camera.

I hear Lex in the bathroom so I look in and see this...

He was so into his makeover he didn't even see me standing by the door, I managed to get 5 or 6 pictures before he even noticed me.

It took me about 20 minutes to get all the pink stains off his skin.

R.I.P to my poor lipstick that wasn't even a one day old.

Edit Me week 4 challenge

I decided to join the Edit Me weekly challenge over at My Reflection of Something.

I loved this weeks picture, it was taken by Sarah at Naptime Momtog.

This is my first time doing the edit me challenge so I forgot to write down all my steps but basically this is what I did-

- Cropped

- Adjusted the curves and contrast

- Added a little vignette to the ends of the picture.

- Messed with selective color to make the sky pop

- Added a circular striped brush around the water tower, I really didn't mean for it to look like sun rays, but it does and I think it looks pretty cool with them.

- The edited picture reminded me of summer in San Diego (who knows why) so I added this quote that I have had stuck in my head for years.

I know I probably forgot a few things but that's basically it.

I think it looks pretty good, what do you think?

30 Day Shred- Day 5 and Feeling Good!

So, I'm going on day 5 of 30 day shred and guess what?! Good news...
I'm still alive!
After day 3 it got so much easier, seriously, you all know I wanted to punch Jillian in the face the first day.
The second day I felt so sore, I had trouble walking up the 5 little stairs to my apartment entrance.
and the 3rd day I did the shred and it was tiring but nothing, NOTHING like the first day.
Even though I ran out of breath and I had to take a couple breaks, I did it, I finished and wanted to give myself a bear hug at the end.. because well, damn it I deserved it!

I promised myself I wouldn't care about the number on the scale but I gave in and weighed myself yesterday morning and I lost 2 lbs.
2 pounds!!
I was ecstatic! I know that doesn't sound like alot but it hasn't even been a week and I'm already seeing results, and I'm not just talking about the weight... I wake up much more energized now that I'm exercising daily and watching my diet.
I actually look forward to taking a jog and I even look forward to doing the 30 day shred.
I know it sounds crazy but I'm actually starting to feel slightly toned and I can feel my body changing.
You guys, seriously, I am fuckin stoked!
I haven't been this happy about my body and the way I treat it for a long, LONG time.
It feels good, it really does.

Do not give up ladies!
Don't make up excuses and reasons why you should stop.
I know it's hard,
believe me,
I struggle, I sweat, I run out of breath,
But I'm tired of giving up, I'm tired of thinking I can't do something because it seems to hard.
I can do it.
and believe me,
If me out of all people can do it so can you!

Goals for the week:
- Attempt level two.
- Add another ab workout a couple days a week
- Wake up earlier to take a jog around the neighborhood (AZ gets HOT early!!)
- Start Juicing
- Walk to the stores instead of drive (seriously, I live two blocks away wtf)

He carries around my old point and shoot everywhere. Whenever he sees me taking pictures, he'll run and get his camera and he starts screaming "CHEEEEESE!!"

He loves to take videos and when I show him what he filmed he cracks up.

Oh, and whenever he laughs, he covers his mouth with one hand and holds his belly with the other.

Who teaches this kid all this stuff?

Who knows, maybe he'll be a blogger when he grows up :)

I should really get him his own camera... Does anyone know if they sell cameras for toddlers? One that takes pictures but is durable?

30 Day Shred

So I guess I'm now doing the 30 day shred along with a bunch of other lovely ladies,
I received the dvd a couple of weeks ago but I've only done it once before.
The first time was effin HORRIBLE! I felt like a 90 year old smoker... I don't think I even lasted 10 minutes.
So I tried it again last night (or well tonight since I'm writing this thursday night)
and I must say I did do better this time.
BUT
It still kicked my ass!
I didn't think I was really this unhealthy but who am I kidding! Combine the fact that I'm overweight, I have the bones of a mummy, I have asthma, oh yeah and the fact that I used to smoke. I'm surprised I didn't kick the bucket 2 minutes in.
I was already sweaty and nasty 5 minutes in, by 15 minutes I wanted to punch Jillian in the face.
I'm really, really going to push myself to eat better and stick with it.
I don't care if Jillian Michaels kicks my ass every day, as long as I start losing all my excess chunk and I start to get a firm bootay, I'm game!
I'm tired of this body, I don't love it, I don't even like it.
No Excuses! I will lose the fat and I will gain some ass kicking muscle.

Btw- I found out that you can find the 30 day shred on your On Demand...

Long hair, don't care...

So for about the last three months I've been trying to grow out the black from my hair, I was tired of it and wanted to go really light, wait, really light to me is medium brown haha... I've been dying my hair blue black since my 15th birthday so I had no freaking clue what my natural hair was going to look like but I knew I wasn't about to bleach it to go lighter... So I've been waiting and waiting.

What did I do yesterday?

I gave in, no, I didn't bleach it...

I dyed it black... Again!

I just can't see myself with another color.

& I got tired of waiting.

I also wanted to show Jenny my bangs, I've been cutting my bangs myself since I was fifteen too, I used to use shears but these past few months I've been using a hair shaper, It's insanely easy to use and there are a bunch of videos on YouTube that show you how to use one, my favorite is THIS one by the lovely Kandee Johnson. You can find them at Sally's or most beauty supply stores.

As for the rest of my hair I've been giving myself basic trims because I'm letting it grow out for Locks of Love. My hair grows extremely fast so this will be my third time donating. If you have have long hair you should be AWESOME and donate some hair, seriously it will grow back, don't be scared to cut some off for a good cause.

Merry Berry Smoothie

We wake up around 4:30-5 every single morning (because Lex is trying to kill me...) so I never have an appetite for a big breakfast but I know I need to eat something besides coffee and toast so I make us some smoothies.
This is what I had at 6:30 this morning, It's almost 10:30 a.m right now and I probably won't eat lunch till 1 or so. It's very filling.
I use Silk soy milk but you can use regular milk or almond milk. Also since you're using frozen fruit you don't need to use ice but you can always add some if you want it more slushy. I've been using honey but I'm wondering how it would taste with Truvia?
Anywho... Just combine all your ingrediants and blend for about 30 seconds on medium speed and
TA DA!

I ended up buying the nifty fifty... I AM IN LOVE!

I ended up buying it from amazon because I have prime so I get free two day shipping, actually It was supposed to arrive today but It came a day early, which was pretty awesome!

I bought a filter set and a UV hood because I'm a klutz and I really don't want to break this one, haha.

I was taking pictures the whole day yesterday!

I love that it takes great pictures even with little light because my apartment has the worst natural light.

So I'm back in action, taking pictures of my kid digging for gold, because I can... and because that's all he does 24/7... Btw, is it just me or are Lexs ears growing??

Whatever, he's still a cutie, big ears or not.
