We just met last night, just arrived first time to Hawaii. This is our first time to the Hawaii! We lived in Los Angeles I forgot shorty for four months and is here for two weeks right. We just had a vision to come to Hawaii yeah I dreamed about that but I didn't know what it was. Oh my god, I dreamed about these mountains that's the place you got go yeah and so here you are. Unfortunately, the Napali coast is closed for hiking right now because of all the flooding but should be able to see it with a boat trip or helicopter or something like that. So we're hiking on this as you can see totally muddy mess of a trail to a waterfall it's called Nope.

Oh yeah, and so the deal with the Hawaiian language is like when you see the words written out then you're supposed to pronounce all of the vowels and so for example the town it spelled ka PA a you don't say Kappa you say Kappa yeah and so it's actually not Hawaii it's Hawaii you print out the yeah so it's kawaii in Hawaii. And so, it's going to be like a not too far of a hike like 15 minutes maybe we should try to get past. These days yeah this is this is the worst I've ever seen on this trail before yeah it is some lush forest. It's called the Garden Isle I think it's like the wettest of the Hawaiian Islands the mountain at the center of the island Mount way. It is one of the wettest spots on earth like some years. It is the wettest spot on earth yeah in the middle of Kauai here there's tons of different microclimates on the island.

So there's actually like desert in the south it's considered desert there's like seven different types of climates on the island. So as you drive around then you see quite different landscapes but here it's obviously very wet and so the waterfall is just right down there. Wow, shows up in there but if super-deep Saturno there's no rocks or anything like that I'm not gonna get exactly you I'm soaking this waterfall through lots of time so I knew it's super deeper right and then you can get up over here there we go and then you have kind of this little ladder of rocks to get up to the top yeah so great very refreshing no it's very warm actually and so we're now hiking to a different waterfall but the lady at the hostel had asked me not to advertise it and so I'm not going to say what it's called or how I am getting there how we're getting there. But it's another muddy hike through the rainforest and it's going to be really beautiful hiking.

I think this must be damage from the big storms I guess yeah knocking trees over. You ready go ! All right that is awesome acai bowl that is a full meal there so we're back at the mobile food stand where it was a couple days ago and I'm waiting on some tacos and got a glass of soy milk. Here up on the North Shore sunrise juice bar coconuts chiku's sugar on Monday through Saturday breakfast lunch so the reason there are so many chickens

and roosters on kawaii is they were released during the hurricane that hit Hawaii in 1992 and so they were like captive chickens and people's backyards or whatever and they got released and then just kind of spread since then.

So they're just all over the island and they wake you up very early in the morning whether you're camping or in a hotel or whatever that's a funny-looking black furry one check out hose. Veggie tacos very colorful smells really good too quite different and so we're heading for a beach get the word out and hike down a trail here and then you hop along some rocks to get over to the beach. I think it's believed that the people that ended up on Hawaii came from the South Pacific.I don't know that it's known which area exactly yeah I'm really not sure of the history there but I think, it's believed that they came you know not from not from North America but from the South Pacific somewhere maybe.

This canyon was created by the eruptions of the volcano, the different layers of sediment, different eruptions by the volcano. Mark Twain is commonly considered to have called it the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, though he actually never visited Kauai but that's the island legend and so come up here to view this legendary attraction.

It is free, free admission, free parking. It is, you'd wanna allocate about a half day to come up here 'cause it's a bit of a drive from the main part of the island you'll be going up to a high elevation. It can be about 10 to 15 degrees cooler up here.

This is the first lookout, it's the Waimea Canyon Lookout. There are more lookouts as you go, this one's at mile marker 10 on the road, they go up to mile marker 19 and also the major parking lots have bathrooms so you don't have to hold your bladder too much. Definitely make it to the last lookout at mile marker 19 and it's right here and the views here are breathtaking.

There's this valley down below you can see the undeveloped coastline, the soaring mountains, it's really neat. And I'm sure the video doesn't do it justice which is why you can't just watch my video to travel but you have to come to Kauai to see it. In addition to lookouts if you're into hiking Waimea Canyon has lots of great hiking paths as well. Though 'cause it is very wet make sure to bring shoes you don't care about all that much 'cause the path can get pretty muddy. Now these trails are not for those afraid of heights, it is a long way down from here.

The second biggest attraction in Kauai are waterfalls. It rains a lot here and so there's a lot of waterfalls. The coolest waterfall that's really easy to get to are the Wailua Falls, you can just drive right up to them.

You can see right back there, there's a parking lot and here's the observatory right on the side of the highway. And these waterfalls it's really cool cause you can get up very close to them, you can feel and hear the waterfall. These waterfalls at 173 feet actually are taller than Niagara Falls, though not quite as much water coming off of them. And back in ancient times people used to jump off these waterfalls as a test of manhood. I'm sure if you searched on YouTube you can find other people jumping off of them. And while it is possible to get up real close to the falls or down to the bottom, you're technically not allowed.

Meet the twin waterfall is the Opaekaa Falls, this one's just right outside of Wailua. It's pretty close from the town. They're 151 foot waterfalls, two waterfalls that go down, they flow year round. They're a little far away to see but they're kinda neat. And on the other side I actually think the view into the river just across the street from the scenic outlook, I actually think that might be cooler than this waterfall. But there's a few river outlooks along this road to the waterfalls as well. If you like blow holes and who doesn't like blow holes check out the Spouting Horn Park. Here there are five different blow holes, the main blow hole, right back there, there's an observatory to see it. It makes a moaning sound when it squirts. And the moaning sound is owed to the Hawaiian legend that this part of Kauai was once guarded by a lizard and so.

There's also a little flea market selling trinkets and souvenirs, you can check that out, though you might find better souvenirs on other parts of the island. For a cool coastal hike on the South Shore of Kauai, check out the Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail. I'm sure to have mispronounced that but it's just next to the Grand Hyatt Kauai. And here you can hike along the coast and see the undeveloped Kauai coast. By the way it also is pretty windy in Kauai, they have pretty big trade winds so be prepared to be blown a little bit. But this trail, pretty casual, it runs in front of the Poipu Golf Course. One of the nice part about the hiking trail here 'cause it's right next to the coast and the wind keeps it cool and there's actually a decent amount of shade on it. And it's sand so it's soft, there's a lot of sharp things though so make sure you wear good footwear if you're gonna hike this trail.

Kauai has lots of old quaint historic towns. My favorite of them is this one, it's Old Kapaa Town. And the thing to know about these towns is they often have one night a month or a certain night a week they stay open late and have festivals. In Old Kapaa Town it is the first Saturday of every month the stores, restaurants are opened late, 5 to 9 p.m. So there's special stands set up, there's musicians maybe you can hear some drums in the background, very lively. So if you're staying near one of these historic towns check out what their late night a month they stay open. The one that we went to, we didn't go to the late night one, we just went there at night was Hanapepe Town. And at night that historic town it is a ghost town.

And I think Hanapepe Town is a ghost town but at night extra ghost town.

Then after you're done exploring Old Kapaa Town if you're here in the daytime you can visit the beach, just two blocks over and it's also got a beachfront sidewalk so you can walk over there too.

Kalapaki Beach in front of the Kauai Marriott is a popular beach that is fairly protected from the water so this is a great place to swim, it's a sandy bottom, not too many currents here. It's also really popular place for stand up paddle boarding. Also around this beach is the famous Duke's restaurant and there's a number of other restaurants and shops right in this area as well. So just and you can see it's a big wide sandy beach, pretty peaceful and open. All you have to do is find the Marriott which is this big building right up here. It's kind an ugly and pink, you can't miss it. But that's the Marriott and this is the beach.

Right next to the beach in the Anchor Cove Shopping Center is one of four Kauai locations of the ABC Stores. Stop here to pick up all your sundry needs and Hawaiian souvenirs.

Check out Kauai's North Shore for the lush most Jurassic Park side of the island. As you can see a lot of clouds here, the mountain formations cause clouds and rain, they get the most rain out here. Also the beaches on this side of the island, the best in the summer, they're kind calm in the winter, they can be kind of choppy. For the best views head out to the St. Regis in Princeville, that's where I'm standing right now. There's about eight parking spots in front of it or the valet will actually valet park you for free. Then the beaches, they're down below you can either get there via 200 steps or a couple elevators through the property.

This is the beach, beachy, beachy, beachy but there's these trees on the beach and there's a stream and there's dead trees and there's rocks and then pretty soon there's something back here that looks like Jurassic Park. I mean, I just hope there aren't any dinosaurs. In front of the St. Regis Princeville, they've got a display that tells you that here where the hotel is now used to be the site of a former Russian fortress. In fact, there were two of them in Kauai by this famous Russian that was actually chased off the island 'cause he was such a crook. If you wanna know more about it well you're just gonna have to come to Kauai and read these signs.

По высоте ель достигает в среднем около 50 метров , а сосна, в свою очередь, достигает в высоту около 75 метров. С чем это может быть связано? Это связано с тем что, что сосна светолюбивое дерево и из-за этого она все время стремится вверх. С этим также связано и расположение ветвей у сосны. Ее ветви располагаются вверх и доходит до середины ствола, а нижняя часть уже без ветвей. Так как каждой хвоинке необходим свет, а что касается ели, то у нее ветви опущенны и хвоинки направлены вниз, как и ветви. Щишки тоже располагаются внизу, полностью вся крона ели будет заполнена с сучками и веточками. Дерево ель, как вы можете догадаться, это тенелюбивое дерево. Еще одной особенностью является то, что хвоинки ели растут и держатся на дереве 5 лет, а хвоинки сосны 2- 3 года. Хвоинки ели имеют каждая свое определенное место, иголочки как бы одна подругой , а у сосны они будут расти поодиночке или попарно.

Следующей и наиболее ярко выраженное различие этих деревьев, является строение корневой системы. В чем же различие у корневых систем сосны и ели? У сосны мощная стержневая корневая система, как следствие сосна может располагаться на засушливой территории может произрастать на скалах, на камнях, на прибрежных территориях, на каменистой почве.

А вот что касается ели, то она несколько более прихотлива к почве. Потому что у нее мочковатая корневая система и она произрастает в достаточно влажной почве. кКорневая система ели может распространяться на большую территорию, это помогает ей собирать дождевую воду с большей трерритории. В зависимости от того какой ствол у сосны и ели, также различается и их применение человеком. Сосну используют, в основном, как строй материал, либо материал для производства мебели. Однако, как строй материал она ценится выше, так как имеет большую часть ствола , которая без ветвей и без сучков. Достаточно всего лишь отшлифовать и вырезать нужные размеры.

Что касается ели, то на протяжении всего ствола будут располагаться ветки, что уже менее удобно для производства. Ель достаточно сильно впитывает влагу, что неудобно , для наружной облицовки здания и чаще ель используют для внутренних работ. Вот мы с вами и подошли к концу. ОБРАБОТКА ЖЕЛУДЕЙ ДЛЯ ЕДЫ

1) Очистите от древесной кожуры, разрежьте на 4 части и залейте водой.

2) Вымачивайте жёлуди двое суток, промывая их и меняя воду не реже 3-х раз в день (она будет окрашиваться в чайный цвет, вытягивая дубильную кислоту).

3) Переложите в кастрюлю, залейте водой и нагрейте до кипения (кипятить не нужно).

4) Разбухшие жёлуди пропустите через мясорубку.

5) Полученную кашицу выложите тонким слоем на плоскости, высушите.

6) Далее сушите жёлуди в печке на слабом огне до тех пор, пока они не станут похрустывать, как сухари.

7) Истолките в ступке или размелите кофемолкой. При крупном помоле получается крупа – на кашу, измолов мелко, получаем муку – для выпечки лепёшек и хлеба.

Пудинг из желудевой крупы с яблоками. Желудевую крупу положить в кипящую слегка подсоленную воду и, помешивая деревянной веселкой, варить до полуготовности. Затем крупу откинуть на сито, переложить в кастрюлю, залить молоком и варить до готовности.
В сваренную желудевую крупу положить яичные желтки, растертые с сахаром, мелко нарезанные яблоки, сливочное масло, хорошо перемешать и запечь в духовке.
При подаче пудинг полить вареньем, которое предварительно разогреть.
На 40 г желудевой крупы — 5 сливочного масла, 30 г яблок, 1 яйцо, 15 г сахара, 60 мл молока, 30 г варенья.
