What is Lambda Expression?

Lambda Expression is a feature to implement functional logic without method name, class name in a object oriented programming. It simplifies the way functional logic implemented in object oriented programming.

Where Lambda Expressions can be used?

In Object Oriented Programming, A complex method would be broken into multiple methods by grouping logic statements to reduce complexity for better reading and maintenance. But those new methods would not be reused for any other purposes. Here, Lambda expression can be used to implement the functional logic in elegant way rather than creating multiple methods or anonymous classes.

Syntax:

= (parameters as comma separated) -> { };

.(parameters>);

Here, (parameters as comma separated) are not mandatory, it can be empty parenthesis if no parameter required.

Big Data

Big Data is a concept to define data as a key value pair structure which provides high scalability and performance for persistence, retrieval, and maintenance. As name stands, it handles large volume data and complex structure easily.

Mongo Database

MongoDB is open source big data type database. Record in MongoDB is a document defined using key value pair. MongoDB is NoSQL database, User need to use MongoDB Shell and MongoDB syntax to create database, insert document, and query the data.

MongoDB document would be

There are some rules for field names:

“id” is reserved for Primary Key field.
Field name has to be unique in a document.
Field name should not start with null, $.
Field name should be alphanumeric.

Basics

MongoDB comprises databases > collections > records as listed order in BSON format. Collection will have 1 or more number of records, Database will have 1 or more Collections, and there can be 1 or more databases.

To insert new record in a collection: db..insert(<{structure}>})

To insert one record in a collection: db..insertOne(<{structure}>})

When we insert a record into collection, MongoDB will create database and collection if it doesn’t exist.

Accessing Secured SOAP WEBSERVICE in Java

When Endpoint Service is protected that SOAP request XML Header should have SSL Certificate agreed (between client and provider) and User Name/Password, then below approach can help to achieve in accessing highly secured service.

How to add Security tag and Digital Signature to SOAP request header:

JAX-WS (JAVA API for XML Webservice) provides the API to handle the SOAP request XML and add security tag with digital signature to SOAP request XML before sending it over in http to endpoint.

javax.xml.ws.Binding class has API to set custom Handler, and Binding object can be fetched from javax.xml.ws.BindinigProvider class object.

In many cases, we would need to know the version of WEBCENTER Framework from Installation.

In that case, we need to use opatch command tool to list the exact version number.

Below is the step:

Navigate through the Oracle Middleware Path
Then navigate through the Oracle_WC1 installation directory /Oracle_WC1
then, navigate through the OPatch folder inside Oracle_WC1.
Then, execute below command to know the status

./opatch lsinventory -invPtrLoc /oraInst.loc -details

Then it will list down all installation with exact version number including patch.

Creating Custom Object Type in Documentum

I followed the below steps to create custom object type derived or inherited from dm_document object type.

Before moving on new object type creation steps, mentioning the dm_document object type hierarchy in diagram.

dm_document object type is for all the documents created in content server repository, that document would be any thing like MS office files, picture files, PDF, xml files etc...

Why do we need new Custom Object Type in Documentum?
dm_document object type provides limited attributes to describe a document attributes like creator, creation date, modify date, title, object_name, etc.
If we need custom attributes for a document such as type of document (sales document, legal document, customer feedback) or any other information, new custom object type need to be created by inheriting dm_document with additional attribute name such document_type, etc...

Create Custom Object type using DQL
Syntax to create new custom object type with dm_document as super type is
CREATE TYPE objecttype_name (attribute_name attribute_type) WITH SUPERTYPE dm_document/

DQL command to describe object type is DESCRIBE object_type_name

Documentum API command to describe the object type is DESCRIBE,c,object_type_name

Alter the existing object type attribute
ALTER TYPE objecttype_name MODIFY attribute_name attribute_type

Documentum Attribute Type
Documentum provides below attribute types by default to describe attribute in object type
DM_STRING
DM_INTEGER
DM_BOOLEAN
DM_ID

DM_STRING attribute allows to store maximum 255 characters value in attribute. We can use ALTER TYPE command to modify the attribute to store database default character length 2000 as below.
ALTER TYPE object_type_name MODIFY attribute_name CHAR(200)

DM_ID would be a reference r_object_id of other object in docbase. When we perform dumping of this object, referenced object id also will be dumped and it can be loaded into another docbase.

Note: Assumes reader has basic knowledge on documentum objects types and reader is in the search for steps to create new custom object type in documentum.

What is ACL in documentum?
ACL stands for Access Control List. It is security mechanism provided by documentum to control security of Documentum Content Server objects.

ACL object attributes:
Each ACL object has below attributes:

object_name (ACL object name)
owner_name (Owner of the ACL name, most of the time creator name)
r_accessor_name (Either dm_user or dm_group name who associated with this acl)
r_accessor_permit (Permission READ, WRITE, DELETE,...)
r_accessor_xpermit (Extended permission for the accessor)

Each dm_document object is associated with one of the ACL object.

Possible Persmission Set value for r_accessor_permit attribute:
Below are the possible premission values can be set in r_accessor_permit attribute values,:

NONE (1) - implies that access restricted. The objects which are associated with NONE permission value ACL can't be accessed by users or groups associated with
r_accessor_name.
BROWSE (2)
READ (3) - implies that READ permission is allowed for the users or groups associated with ACL to objects marked with this ACL.
RELATE (4) - implies that user can perform annotate operation in object.
VERSION (5)- implies that user can version the object along with annotate and read capability.
WRITE (6)- implies that user can perform edit operation along with above operation.
DELETE (7)- implies that user can perform all above operation and can delete this object from repository.

Ways to create new ACL:
Documentum desktop client is providing ACL editor to create/edit ACL using UI.

Documentum is also providing API methods to create new ACL, Sample one is

How Google Site were tried to hack ?

I was searching for the analysis report how Google accounts were tried to hack. Hackers objective was trying to get full permission on google users accounts, and to get the email contents from user accounts.

Suspicious emails were sent to large number of user accounts with from address as well known address.
Ex: To ABC email account, suspicious email sent as from XYZ, here XYZ is well known sender to ABC. Here, I am not clear how hackers got well known from address for different user accounts.

Malicious software were attached these suspicious emails. When users accessing or opening these email, mallware package would have executed , will start running from user system.

These mall-ware installable will read the users cookie and other valid information. Hackers were these vital info to access google accounts or email contents whenever users accessing .

Video braodcasting in LAN - Using VLC Player 1.0.3 GoldenEye

There are lot of methods to achieve video broadcasting in LAN network. VLC media player is one of the easiest to broadcast video/audio in LAN network.

VLC player can be downloaded from http://www.videolan.org.

Here, i have used VLC media player 1.0.3 GoldenEye for testing.

There is no specific software for server functionalities in VLC. Both server and client functions are performed by same software.

Steps for steaming/broadcasting:

1. Open VLC media player.

2. Open Media>Streaming option.

3. Add the files in File Selection area, and then click Stream button.

4. Stream Output window will get opened now.

5. Now in the Destination, Choose New Destination as UDP and then click add.

6. UDP Option tab will get opened now, type the broadcast address in Address textbox.

7. Click Next option,and then click Stream.

Steps for client to view streamed video:

1. Open VLC media player.

2. Open Media> Open Network Stream.

3. It will now play the streamed file from LAN broadcast addresss.
