Several years ago, I was curious on how to deal in trading our stocks in a company. During that time, we're planning to sell our stocks to a broker.

Fond of reading business sections of broadsheet every now and then. I wonder how it works...analyzing the trade and monitoring the shares.

Recently, my blogger friend Charmel delos Santos-Marcial gave me a copy of her ebook entitled "High Heeled Traders".

I've been curious on how the stock market runs in a day. In this wonderful ebook, I'd learned to be fierce in deciding whether to buy some shares in a company or not. Taking risk of my shares is one of the greatest challenge in entering the business world.

A Fire in the Soul: A Cantata

I've been watching a lot of plays from time to time. And I've been curious on what is a Cantata.

In celebration of DLSU Centennial Celebration, a musical production about the history of Lasallian mission in Asia.

A Fire in the Soul: A Cantata tells about the story of a crucial event in the history of the Lasallian mission in Southeast Asia. On February 12, 1945, as the American forces bombarded the City of Manila, a group of Japanese soldiers entered the De La Salle College campus grounds on Taft Avenue. They attacked the people who were living there. Twenty-four men, women, and children, and 16 La Salle brothers died in the massacre.

War turns human beings into monsters. It also forges heroes out of its flames. It's about the story to honor their memory, their service to humanity, and to remember them eternally.

It was created by Gabby Fernandez and directed by multi awarded director Peque Gallaga, the Cantata is one of the highlights of the year long centennial celebration of De La Salle University(DLSU) in the Philippines.Vicente Garcia Groyon wrote the libretto and Von de Guzman composed the music.

A Fire in the Soul: A Cantata will have two performances only: February 26 (Sunday - Matinee) at 3pm and February 27 (Monday - Gala Night) at 8pm. Both shows will be heldat Teresa Yuchengco Auditorium at the 7th Floor of Don Enrique T. Yuchengco Hall of DLSU.

The cast includes Michael de Mesa (Br. Egbert), Franco Laurel(Br. Antonius), Al Gatmaitan (Br.Mutwald), Jonel Mojica (Br.Friedbert), Miguel Castro (Br.Arkadius), Floyd Tena (Br.Athanasius), and Naomi Sison (AlmaMater).

Also, joining them are Onyl Torres (Japanese Captain), Nazer Salcedo (Japanese Soldier 1), Gary Fabricante (Japanese Soldier 2), and John Gilbert Arceo (Japanese Soldier 3).

Narrators are Jaime Fabregas, Ricky Gallaga, Conchita Castillo, Dado Jose, Tanya Lopez, and Louie Zabaljauregi.

Featured in this production are the different La Salle singing groups, namely: De La Salle Inner Soul, De La Salle-Zobel Chorale, La Salle Centennial Orchestra, La Salle Centennial Chorus. Some kids of La Salle-Greenhills are also part of the show.

Joining the Production and the Artistic Team are Mio Infante (Production Design), Dong Calingacion (Technical andLighting Director), GA Fallarme(Projection Design), Br. Bernard S. Oca,FSC (Executive Producer), and Lore Reyes (Line Producer).

For the matinee performance on February 26, 2012 (3pm), regular tickets are at P200, while student rates are at P100. And for the gala show on February 27, 2012 (8pm), orchestra seats are priced at P500 (regular)/ P250 (students)and balcony seats at P250 (regular)/ P200 (students).

The moment my copy of Ronald Tomas Nonet's Travel arrived in my doorstep, I played it right away on my CD player. I heard a lot of jazz music, but everytime I played it while blogging...it's relaxing and I can't get enough of it.

One of my favorite tracks on this album was Chili Con Pasyon and Dum Da Dee Dum. Fusion of jazz with a twist. Experimenting a lot of rhythm and other music genre like kundiman...it's good to listen to it while relaxing in your veranda.
Recommended album for those who want to chillax with a great music that you will surely love.

How To Backup Your Text Messages Without Restoring Your Samsung Galaxy Y

It's been months after I posted about Samsung Galaxy Y's recommended apps. Here's another app that will definitely helps you restoring your text messages.

I'd been having some problems on my inbox. It's lagging whenever the red message indicator appeared to have an incoming SMS messages though there's no new messages on it. The only solution is to backup my phone. I have to restore it and start all over again downloading all my killer apps on Blazing Desire (my Galaxy Y's nickname).

Earlier this morning, while tweaking my Samsung Galaxy Y or GT-S5360, I saw an app on Android Market that will solve my problem without backing up the entire phone.

If you see the pictures above, you will notice that my message's indicator has one new message. But when I opened my inbox, there's no new SMS on it. All you have to do is to download SMS Back Up and Restore app available on your Android Market.

Open your SMS Back Up and Restore app, and if you wanted to back up your text messages (I have 974 text messages on my phone! :) ) Click on the Backup tab on it. It's easily store the entire messages on your SD card.

Then, restore your inbox. In my case, after I'd backed up my huge volume of text messages, restore my inbox and restore it again my almost a thousand important text messages. I saw one missing messages that I didn't read yesterday.

Inspired by the New York City lights, the line showcases Spring 2012’s trend on glitz and glamour with flashy pieces that consists primarily of all party dresses bedecked with glitter, sequins, and metallics. My collection is called Mama Carine. Irreverently chic! I drew my inspiration for this collection from Carine Roitfeld, former editor-in-chief of French Vogue. That tousled hair and dark smoky-eyes, she is one of the most powerful women in the whole of “fashiondom”. She evokes power and authority. She’s unapologetically subversive with her usually sex-induced ideas. Influential, dominant and highly-significant for most designers, eternal muse of Tom Ford, and for my second collection for Hot Young Designers, she is my woman- clad in my fetish-inspired multi-buckled corset belts; zip-up miniskirts; body-hugging stretch dresses…this collection is power dressing with lots of female charm.

Marc’s Collection

For my 2nd Collection, I was inspired by my friends from the Fashion Institute if the Philippines. Since I knew that New Year was coming, I thought of using colors and prints for my collection. I was never really a “color” fanatic. I was inspired by Mikee Andrei and Paris Bagasao's use of color, and I was inspired by the movie "Fatal Attraction", a 1987 American Thriller starring Glenn Close. I was so inspired by her character that I made my own story. Pink and Violet are the main colors in my collection - colors that I never imagined using.

Jackie’s Collection

“The Unusual Marauder" by Jackie Maronilla Abueg puts emphasis on minimalist feministic ideals. Her design philosophy of simple and effortless brings out a subdued glow to those caught with any ensemble. By playing with materials that would usually suit trousers, Jackie's collection this quarter decides to go unconventional and transform them into practical, effortless and chic apparel. Jackie believes that her designs should bring out the essence of a woman, this second collection "The Unusual Marauder" focuses on defying the typical image of what a woman should be and how a woman should dress. It's about time that these unusual marauders are set on the loose!

The second quarter shoot was fun and amazing as it was a collaborative effort different brands. We would like to thank Bugsy’s, The Grove by Rockwell and The Bulb Studios for providing the venue. Having a long distance relationship is hard when one of you didn't communicate at all. Most of us want to be with the one they love. Communication is a key for those who have a relationship like this.

Fanny Serrano has been at the helm of the beauty industry since the eighties. He was the favorite of celebrities around with the likes of Sharon Cuneta, Maricel Cuneta, and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.

He has successfully expanded his career from beauty stylist to screen actor to entrepreneur in the last couple of decades.
Tita Fanny or TF, as he is fondly called in showbiz, shared how he once had a problem with hair fall and hair loss.

Here's what Fanny Serrano talks about Novuhair:

"[Before] kasi, grabe ang [dami ng buhok sa] punda ng unan ko every morning."

"At saka yung sink ko nagbabara. Ilang beses na yan nagbabara. Ipapa-ayos ko and makikita nila isang kamao na hair na nakaikot [sa loob].

"Until I discovered this treatment, itong Novuhair, na nag-stop ng falling hair ko."

Fanny was easily convinced by the owners to become the face of their ingenious formula. He realized that this is no ordinary beauty product but a real solution to a real health problem that many people around the world suffer from.

Fanny states his hair philosophy as follows:

"Ang philosophy ko sa hair, talagang care with passion.

"Alagaan mo talaga ang buhok mo kasi crowning glory natin pala yan. Hindi mo dapat i-balewala yan.

"Talagang kailangan pag galing ka sa mahabang biyahe o maalikabok na biyahe, maski everyday sa mga estudyante, pagkatapos manggaling sa kung saan, kailangan mo talagang i-shampoo.

"And then, it's really very important to condition the hair.

"Kapag shinampoo natin, nag-o-open yung cuticle. Pag nag-open ang cuticle nag-i-invite siya ng mga bacteria.

"Kailangan i-condition mo para yung mga cuticle magsara kasi ang cuticle makaliskis 'yan, e, malilit 'yan na bumubuka.

Hair fall: truths and untruths

Aside from old age, what’s one thing we enjoy noticing in others but wholly deny when it happens to ourselves? Old age’s sister: hair loss.

That’s right: that patch of space somewhere on your scalp, usually characterized by an unwelcome sheen and the threat of more of it to come.

Yet fear not, for every problem – perceived or otherwise – comes with it a solution.
