Put a little love... or anything else... in the air with paper, tissue paper, fishing wire, tape, and a hole punch. Feel like you are in a willow tree of hearts...

or create a canopy in the sky for your customers. Get as elaborate as you want, it all just depends on how much time you have! The tissue paper worked better as you can cut MANY more sheets at once and they do not weigh down the fishing wire.

Need marketing images of your products? Have a photo shoot! A lot of companies turn to their employees or friends when they need a model stand in to show off their product. Megan dressed up in artisan goods and I took photos of her spinning around in the snow in front of the Old State Capitol. We got some cool shots! Here's the result:

Make Your Own Wall Decal

No budget for a decal? My intern & awesome helper created this exhibit sign by printing out text on the printer and cutting it out. She then cut out blades of grass to attach to the bottom to evoke the theme of the January 2012 Gallery II exhibit "Flatlands." We adhered it to the wall with double stick tape. Time consuming but great result! Sometimes being in the non profit arts sector means making cuts where you can, no pun intended!

Final result with the art. This amazing painting that draws you in is by artist Bernie White Hatcher... one of my favorite pieces to come through Gallery II's doors.

Clothes Line Hanging System

"Clothes line" hanging system used to exhibit the title of the show as well as cyanotype photography prints by photographer Ginny Lee. Part of a collaborative "Partners on Paper" exhibit and progressive b/t the Illinois State Museum, the Springfield Art Association, Robert Morris University, University of Illinois at Springfield, and the Prairie Art Alliance. Created with screws, hanging wire, binder clips, and a measuring tape!

This ended up being one of my favorite exhibits to put together! The focus on paper turned the room into a beautiful celebration of something we use everything. I learned so much about the paper making process.

Here we applied the same concept with artist Ken Pease's pieces on cardboards but used paperclips to hang the pieces by the wire.
