Working In The Garden

I have been busy working in my gardens. Getting them pruned and moving some plants around.
I worked most of today in this garden as well as trimming some bushes around the house.
This still has some work that needs to be done. I am happy with how it is coming along.
I am getting some photos together so I can add to my garden scrapbook.

Ducks Visit Our Garden Pond

We have a garden pond. When we looked out the window there were 2 mallard ducks swimming in it.
It was just so funny to see these 2 big ducks taking a break in our garden pond. We got a good chuckle out of it. They only stayed for a short visit and moved on. It is just amazing what we find in our garden pond.
We have had frogs, toads, turtles, bull frogs and now ducks. I will be adding these photo's to my garden scrapbooks.

I am in a crafting funk. I thought offering a sketch challenge would help me get motivated to craft.

I hope everyone has a Blessed Easter! It is a special time to gather with friends and family.
We will be having a Easter Lunch with our family. I'm looking forward to this gathering!

***Note: I haven't been able to post on my blog this week due to and illness in my family.
       My granddaughter has been very sick this week and I have been caring for her.
       She is doing better today and finally on the mend.

***I also want to mention I updated my CTMH Chart with coordinating stamps for the Art Philosophy Cart. I found 2 more stamp sets that coordinate with this cartridge and added some missing information.

The leaf branches were found on the Art Philosophy Cartridge. P. 35 - - P. 43 - of your Art Philosophy handbook I cut 8 of each branch type. They were cut at 1-1/2". The flowers from the Hooray Bouquet Stamp Set were cut at 1" and 1-1/2" on P. 57 - of your Art Philosophy Handbook.
I cut 9 - 1" flowers and 3 - 1-1/2" flowers.
I stamped the 1" flowers with pansy purple ink. I rolled them with a flower tool. For the flower buds I took a 1" flower that was stamped and folded it in 1/2. I rolled to flower from one end to the other creating a bud. for the bottom of the bud. I snipped off on of the leaves and glued it to the bottom of the bud.
I place a button in the center of the 3 open flowers for the center. For the frame on the card I used 2 images
found on page 55 of the handbook. They are the Decorative Layer images cut at w- 2.458" x H - 3.931".
The card I sized to W - 5.542 x 11.16. I popped up the frame and open flowers with 3-D foam tape.
The scalloped oval was cut at W - 2.194 x H 1.542 found on page 52 of your handbook . The oval was cut at W- 1.819 x H - 1.208 found on page 42 of your handbook

How To Books Are Retiring From CTMH

It has just come to my attention that they will be retiring all of these books. I have all of the How To books from CTMH and I just love them. I purchased them long before I was a consultant. So if you have been waiting to purchase them now is the time to get them before they are gone.
These books give detail instructions in designing scrapbook pages. From what size to cut your paper and a diagram of the finished layout. I am really surprised they will be retiring these. As these are my go to books when I need ideas. Some of these books are already gone.

I Got My Tim Holtz Vagabond Keys Today!!!!

Whooot Whooot!!! I am so excited!! And there Free!! LOL
They came in the mail today!! I thought we were suppose to get a sheet of stickers.
I Just wanted to let you know they are mailing them out already!!
I haven't received the stickers yet. I hope they send them out. Most importantly I did get my Free Keys.
These keys are a guage to how thick to make your sandwich that your going to put through your Vagaond machine. This way you won't make your sandwich too thick and wreck the machine.
The sandwiches are not the kind you eat. LOL So please don't try putting regular food sandwiches in your machine. LOL Incase your not in the know.
A sandwich is how you layer your shims in order to cut or emboss your papers in the Vagabond machine.

Easter "EGG" Card

Easter is fastly approaching. I'm almost embarrassed to say didn't realize until this week that Easter is earlier this year. I was planning all these projects and I just won't have time to do them all.

Here is one card I had planned out that I hope you enjoy!!!

In CCR I sized the card then cut it out. I cut out a second card for the pattern paper.

I welded together Happy Easter and 2 egg cuts in CCR from the Art Philosophy Cart.

I hand cut the zig zag cut for the egg to hatch open.

I added buttons and trim to embellished the card

I stamped the Peeps and hand cut them out to accent the card.

I just have to say I love the CTMH Buttons!!! I'm not just saying it to say it. If your a regular blog follower of my blogs you may have noticed I have little to no projects with buttons on them. It's not because I don't have buttons. They just never seemed to work with what I was making. But these buttons I don't have any problems working them into my projects. I think it is because they are so pretty with texture and color.

My other buttons I have are just that. Your average normal everyday button. Nothing special about them. Just different colors. Any whoo I just wanted to tell you how excited I am to finally be able to use buttons in my projects! It might sound silly to some of you but, I am excited about these buttons. LOL

Family Reunion Invitation Card - Updated Links

Using the Art Philosophy cartridge and coordinating stamp sets is really easy.
You just simply look on the plastic sheet that holds your stamp. It will tell you what size to cut your image on your Cricut machine. You size the image on your Cricut machine and cut the image. Next you get the coordinating stamp for the image you cut and stamp the image on the die cut.
It's really that easy. When I post projects I will tell you what stamp set I used and where you can find the image in your Cricut Handbook.

The Art Philosophy Cartridge has many card bases. You can use them as they are or alter them on you gypsy or CCR. I used the heart card base found on page 26 of your cricut handbook. I hide the heart contour and place an enlarged Flower cut found on page 57 for the card base. You do not weld the flower to the card base. You just place it evenly on the front of the card so the image cuts out.
I cut out the card on white card stock first. Next I cut the card out in this pattern paper.
Next I stamped my 2 flower cuts. One for the front and one that shows when you open the card.
So its 2 sided. The baker's twine was placed inbetween the 2 flower cuts and adhered together.
I strung the smaller cut flower that I stamped in the center of the cut out on the front of the card with baker's twine inbetween the two card base layers. Next I adhered the 2 card base layers toeghter.
This is the first time I made this type of card and it went together easily for me.
For inking the stamp I applied 2 inks on my petal stamp using sponge daubers.
Indian Corn Blue and Sunflower. The green came out when mixing these 2 colors.
It created a nice affect for the flower petals.

I posted the 37 stamp sets that go along with the Art Philosophy cartridge. That hasn't changed.
But, the links have changed.
I just wanted to let you know that CTMH is changing up my shopping website and all the other consultants websites too. All the links I had linking the product back to that website are broken links now. So I removed them from my website. Unfortunately if you are on my email list of subscribers and have saved the email those links will no longer work.

Cuttlebug All In One Folder - Cards And Video

I'm reposting this post because I got the full video to upload.
Now you can see the paper types to use. A quick demo of using the folder and a quick demo on letterpressing with the vagabond using this folder.

I really like the Cuttlebug All In One Folder and I'm Keeping it!

I got the Cuttlebug All In One Folder. I really like it. I made a video addressing the issue of the paper wrinkling and what I think the cause is.
Scroll down past the pictures and you can watch the video.

I have never had so much trouble getting a video up as I have had with this one.
It has taken me an entire day to get this made, edited and uploaded.
I am making shorter videos so that I can get them uploaded.
