Cozy Cafe, Jalan Song

Feeling hungry for something different on lunch time? Another place you can think of will be this restaurant - The Cozy Cafe. It is opposite One TJ with a black signboard. The environment is indeed cozy and warmth.

Taste wise not bad but I can say that the service is a little weird. We order tea and they only permitted to give us 2 cup. Hhmmmm, I thought that we can just ask them to refill the pot wit hot water and share the tea amongst us. Guess this is how they earn more - limiting the number of sharing per tea pot. Oh well, got to just follow their rules.

And this is what we ordered - sharing portion between a few of us. After all, ladies are small eaters.

The day has come for my little baby to have her first sports day! On 25th April 2015, Krista organized a family day @ sports day for their students age 3 to 6. My kids will be participating too and I'm pretty excited about it as well.

We all woke up early today and when I put on her Krista shirt, she was a bit reluctant and unhappy. I guess she wonders why is it that she had to go school on Saturday morning. She keep telling us that she doesn't want to go school. I had to keep telling her that, we are not going to school but we are going to have some fun and play with other kids. Unhappy, but she did not resist.

After our breakfast, we reach the place at 9am. There's a lot of parents arrive already and we are lost. I thought that I'm already late. After registration, we headed to the assembly area. My little girl was quite shock to see the crowd and wouldn't let go off my hand. She cried out loud when another 2 boys in front of her cried badly looking for their parents. Haizzzz... I guess I'm on the team too, tagged alone in the games.

All the kids are divided into 3 groups - purple, yellow and green. My girl are on the green team. The games starts with the PH class students, which means the youngest one - 3 years old game. After that, are the K1 kids and lastly the K2 kids. I must say that the teachers are all very organized and pre-planned.

After finish the games for PH students, I bring her to have some fun coloring and mixing around with other kids her age. She seems to enjoy them and started to have some fun

After the game, I finally understand why recently at home, she has been marching a lot and pretty interested with ping pong ball. Also, she keep choosing a green color shirt to wear. It was because she have all the practice with ping pong ball at taska and are in the green team.

One Fine Girls' Outing

Yes, I'm pregnant and still it doesn't stop me from having my girl's night out. Hehehe...

If you're a mum and you hardly have time for yourself, I bet, you do agree with me that, once a while, we too, needed some time out for ourselves. Time out is use to re-energize ourselves and refresh us physically and mentally.

So, the ladies and me had decided to have some our me-time by having a decent dinner without the husband and kids. For me, I would so much appreciate this dining because I do not have to watch out for my daughter running around and talking non stop.

We picked Oinks as our meet up area. For those who don't know where, it is near Jalan Song. Oinks is now open during lunch hour. So, if you're thinking of some western food for lunch, you can consider Oinks as one of your choice too.

Last month, the biggest book ship is here. Anyone missed out the opportunity to go and shows your support for all the volunteers?

If I'm not mistaken, previously the book ship are called Doulos. At that time, I did not manage to get a chance to visit Doulos. After the ship change to Logos Hope, it appears that I always miss the opportunity.

This year, I try to make an effort of visitin them! Yeah...

They berth at the Pending port in early April. As my office is quite near with the port, I use the opportunity of my lunch hour to pay a visit to them. Entrance fee is RM1 which I think is cheap. As the crew are basically a volunteer from all across the country, they do not have much income. The money collected are use to support the crews and maintenance of the ship.

I like being on board the ship! If I'm still young, I would wish to be one of the volunteers, travelling all around the world in ship. I bet, it must be the most thrilling experience one could have.

Now that they are on their way to the next destination, I pray that they will get their support as much as possible. It is not easy to operate such a noble mission here.

As for me, I bought some books for my kids and souvenirs too. Will look forward for their return next year.

Not sure about other kids, but I'm sure my little girl do enjoy sleeping very much. She can have all sorts of ways and style in sleeping. Sometimes, I do think that a king size bed won't even enough for her. Lol!!

When we have kids, it is hard to balance up personal time and family time. Further, being a full time working mum, I spent 8.5 hours in office from Mon-Fri. This makes it tougher for me to balance up what I wants to do in life with quality family time.

I would sneak out some time during the lunch hour to do personal stuff - includes blogging and updating my blog. Somehow's I realize that I can't comment or reply comment in my blog or other blog! Sigh!! Must be my connection problem here. Oh well, for now, I got to live with it since blogging at home would be quite impossible at the moment.

Hopefully, after deliver, I will have further time although I doubt that. Not only that I'm a FTWM, I'm also an employee, a mother and a student! Yeah, you heard me.. I'm taking master study currently and life is even more challenging for me to balance up.

Oh well, I'm just taking some of the time to tell other bloggers who leave comments in my blog on why I don't reply. Sometimes, when I blog hop, I do want to comment but helplessly couldn't do so :(

Yoga Fan

First, I miss yoga. I miss the time that I use to spend on yoga and improving every skill that I can. Not just that, yoga gives me a healthier body and the satisfaction when I can finally achieve a tough pose.

I started yoga about five years ago (time flies). At the time, I can't even reach my hand to my leg. Can you imagine? My body is terribly corrupted and stiff. I feel like a stone!

When I first started yoga, I started with the wrong intention - to get slim down and fit body. But now, yoga just build up my confident level whenever I manage to progress into a pose. Now that I'm pregnant, I went for the prenatal yoga class whenever I can.

Many of my friends say how can yoga brings benefits? It's just a slow movement of pose. Well, through the correct breathing and practices, it not only helps with weight control but also to soften our body and make us feel good.

After I gave birth in 2012, I experience a severe back pain due to breastfeeding. Nothing I do makes it feel better. After one month stuck at home, I finally come out and start my yoga classes. I make the right choice of continuing yoga. My backpain slowly recover! Hopefully for the second birth, I still manage to catch up some yoga class later.

These pictures are all taken after I gave birth in 2012. Hopefully, I can motivate and inspire those who plan to explore yoga. I'm still learning and praying hard that after my second birth, I can still have time for yoga.

I'm not sure about others, but then yoga makes me feel more confident in myself - that I have the capability of doing something I didn't expect I can do it. It's not all about slim down or lose weight. It is more on satisfaction when able to achieve a higher stage and building up self confident.

So, for those pregnant ladies out there. Interested to join me at prenatal yoga class? Kekeke....

Short Trip to Shanghai, China

In January this year, I had to travel to Shanghai for business trip. At that time, I'm only 17 weeks pregnant. It gives me a little worry of the impact towards my baby. However, my gynae confidently sure that it will be ok.

So, here I am, Shanghai for few days. It's a tiring journey but a relaxing and eye opening! I won't deny that sometimes a little time for myself are very nice. Yes, I'm travelling alone, to a country where I can't really understand Mandarin but I know I will be OK.

The weather are quite cold, at 9 degree in the morning. There's one time I almost frozen while waiting for taxi in front of the hotel for almost an hour.

Being a full time working mom, I rarely got chance to pamper myself. From this trip, I get to take things slow - no laundry, no cooking, just sleep and watch TV. Every night, I will soak myself in the bath tub for 15 minutes and take my sweet time putting on lotions and relax.

Shopping - well I don't shop much but just buy goodies for CNY. The things there are so expensive! I never know Shanghai goodies are so pricey. And what's worst, most of the shop accept either VISA or Union Pay. It's difficult to find a shop that accepts Mastercard. I almost out of cash and got to reserve some for taxi to airport.

I indulge myself in all sorts of food there and enjoying every moment of it. There's too many variety of food and being someone who doesn't read Mandarin, I dare not order. Anyway, here's some of the food that I've tried during my trip there.

For now, I won't be travelling anymore (hopefully). I do not want to end up giving birth at country that I'm not familiar with. Hehehe...

Tadika Kintamas Playschool

This year, my daughter going to be 3 years old. When I start looking for a playschool for her, I'm thinking of putting her only in mid of the year. However, many places that I've ask is either full or only accept students early of the year.

Kylee start her first day of school at Tadika Kintamas early this year. The first 2 weeks are tough! She cry as if I've abandon her. She been crying each time we put her on her school's dress. I had tough time trying to 'let go'.

After two weeks, she starting to get the idea of going to school and didn't cry anymore. But, it's the mummy turn to cry. Yes! I cry when she wave goodbye to me and walk in the taska.

Hopefully, she will learn more things in the playschool and socialize more. She going to have sports day next week. Can't wait for it.

It's been a while since the last time I had post in this blog. Life are tough recently and struggles between work and personal had makes me stay away from blogging life.

I think it's time for me to get back on track and start updating my blog more frequently. Hopefully I won't abandon my blog anymore. I guess a lot of my readers had run away too.

So what's new in my life? What I have been busy with? Why such a busy life? Oh well, 2015 has bring me to another step in life. It's a blessing and hopefully, I'll have all the strength I need to go through it with God's will!

It start with my decision of further my study by taking up part time study at WOU. Yes, I'm taking up master study while working!

This year marks a lot of 'upgrading' for me. Starting with the new gift God granted me - a second child. Yes, I am now 29 weeks pregnant with boy. This means I have a pair now. A lot of people asking me if I'm going for no 3. Oh well, I'm still not sure how would I cope with 2. For now, no intention to think of 3 or more. Kekekeke !!

The third thing about my life will be career upgrading. I've got promotion and now leading a team to support other sites for all the branch at my company. This means more conference call at night but also means an upgrading in salary and benefits. It ease and helps with the increasing price of goods and for welcoming my second kid. All comes with a blessing.

So for 2015, I'm an employee, a mom, a wife, a student and expecting to deliver in 2 months time! I hope and pray for all the strength that I can get to get me through the stress and tension in life.

The first trip after an upgrading of my career are Shanghai. Yes! I travel to Shanghai when I'm pregnant. I'll write about that in another post. Do stay in touch! I'm back... In the mean time, let me share my daughter's picture - Frozen fan ..

Kylee Turns One

My little angel turn 1 year old!! Wow, how time flies. It's like just yesterday that I've delivered a baby and now, she is already one.

Since this is our first child, we decided to celebrate her turning one. Being the lazy us, we didn't think much of the location. Hubby likes the food at Pai Jia Le and since they have a private room for functions, we decided to hold a simple party for her.

As I'm cutting cost, I decided to DIY the backdrop. It's all mummy's hard work.. Well of course, mummy and her 'ji mui'...

As for the cake, I ordered one from TAKA and another one was a gift from my lovely 'ji mui'. And also, the cute little cup cake.

As I seldom bring her out where there's many people around, she got freak out when everyone wants to carry her. Crying each time someone comes near. Haaaihzzzzz .. But when comes to presents, I can see, she is the happiest girl that night.

New restaurant is in town! The owner is a lady with the best promoting skills I've ever know. During my first visit, I am actually amaze at the way she promotes her food. She is full with confidence and anxiety. Hhmmmmm ...

They have both local and western type of food but the expertise, as claim by the boss is western food. Hhmmmmm ..

I must admit though, that their burger is nice. It's quite a big burger for someone my size. Anyway, I can finish it. So greedy!

Have anyone notice this small shop inside Giant in Tabuan? On one of my lunch date, we decided to go for short shopping spree. We had our simple lunch first at this warung.

It's quite a small shop near to the RHB atm machine. The place is pack with people and some even take away. I guess the food must be delicious.

It didn't take long for them to serve us. There's only 2 people (the cook and the waitress is the same people!). Really amaze me that they can deliver fast and on time.

Finding Me Again

This will be another junk post that I'm going to flood in my blog again. It's all about the change in me.

I'm not sure what happen but I feel that I've change - to be negative and moody. Is this related to the hormone change in our body after delivery? Sighhh ..

I've become easily angry, emotional and not logical at all. Sometimes, I feel like there's nothing in my life - empty. At work, it feels like very stagnant. Nothing hit me and I feel useless. At home, all my focus towards my girl. It seems like I miss the time where I have my own time.

This morning, I saw a motivational remark from my friend - the 3 C's. Choice, Chance, Change. It is our choice to take the chance or we never change. It hit me.

I know that I'm being all sorts of negative and its really very unhealthy. Sometimes I laugh but deep inside, I'm feeling lonely. What happen to me? Choice, chance, change. It's time for me to take the choice of changing myself to a better me.

The first thing I need to deal with is mood swing. My mood can swing 360 degree anytime, anywhere! Gosh, this is so crazy. I must find a way to control my mood swing. Hhhmmmm, any tips?

One of the factor causes the change of me might be because my routine had change. I'm being pity over myself for not having some time for myself to do what I like. I feel that there's no chances for me to do anything.

It's time to wake up. To face the reality and to accept the facts that I cannot change and to live with all the facts.

This makes me remember the serenity prayer that I use to say every morning before I start my work day in office. I should start the prayer every day now!

Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Salmon Fest at Sanga

This is actually quite a late post. When we had this dinner, I remember my girl just starting to recognize people at that time.

We have been talking about this dinner for quite some time. Its all about salmon - salmon fried rice, salmon sushi, salmon soup, salmon, salmon, salmon!!!!

Now, why everything is salmon? We ordered one big salmon fish and ask the cook for us. Enjoy, right? Hehehehe ...

Girls Night at Rakutei

For one of my gal friend's birthday, we went for a private dinner at Rakutei. It's quite a fun night as we play some games and really enjoying the moment. Its been a while since the last time that we gather like this.

Not long ago, I went to KL for business trip. It's a very short trip though - Morning fly, back on the next day evening. Hehehe...

I've tried several types of food which I can't find in Kuching. Some are nice. I'm sure I'm going to go again in my next trip in December. Hehehehe...

On my birthday, my boss brought us to some simple lunch at The Flavours, Jalan Song.

I think this is the second time that I come here. This place is known with its curry fish head. I've tasted it and its nice.

But the one that I love most would be the wasabi prawn. The taste is superb.

Reviving my Blog

Yes, I'm going to stay up-to date on my blog for now !!! Do be patience with me.

It's been a while since the last time where I’ll find ways to update my blog and write about my life, etc. I’ve been out of ideas as of what should I write. My head is feels empty and totally, not in the mood.

As I sat here, trying to write up something, my head is still blank. I guess the long absence in blogging had turn my head into blank page.

My girl is turning 1 very soon. Time flies. During this one year, I’ve been busy with her and putting up my attention to her and family. Recently, I realize that I’ve not giving myself some space. All that I do is for others: be it for my family, relatives or friends.

I’ve forgotten about myself. Forgotten about my target in life. Forgotten about what I want, what I need, who am I. All that I do for this one year is to get things moving. Living in this world for the sake of living and for the sake of accomplishing the routine. This is part of our life – sometimes, we forgot who we are and even why we are here.

It’s time to get back in line. I need to find back myself – why I’m here, where I’m going and what is my direction. It’s time to give some time for myself, not just being here waiting for people to be here for me or to serve others at all time.

I’ll start with doing what I loves – blogging, yoga-ing and challenge myself with things I want to do but never did it.

I understand now, why is it that some women fall deep into depression after birth. This really needs a lot of support and strong mental mindset. We must be strong for ourselves, not for others. We can never forget our own self!

Breastfeeding and Me

Throughout my new chapter in life as a breastfeeding mothers in the new century, I find it rather dissapointed when most elders ignores the benefit of breastfeeding. For them, formula is better. Baby gets the nutrition. Fat babies is good as it shows that they are well fed. Breastmilk isn't enough for baby and they don't grow as good as formula baby.

Oh well, God create us, human and make us be able to bear our own fruit - baby to be call our child. God understands that baby need to be fed, therefore create mothers to be able to produce milk. But we human, manipulate this and created our own milk - formula milk. So tell me, why is it that God's milk creation cannot be compare with man-made milk? I choose to believe in the natural milk - breast milk.

Before this, I always thought that elders should know the best. But for this case, I'm really doubtful whether or not they really know what is best for babies. Even the formula milk had sentence that says mother's milk is the best so why some people still take that formula is the best?

So I decide to write some stuff about breastfeeding and its goodness:
- Protein: some baby will be allergic to protein contains in formula milk but the protein contain in breastmilk will never cause any allergic reaction to baby
- Fats: breastmilk contains the highest DHA and no cholesterol. It is easily absorb by baby compare with formula
- Carbohydrates: breastmilk is rich in lactose, oligosaccharides, which promote intestinal health. Lactose is important for brain development
- Immune boosters: breastmilk is rich in living white blood cells, millions per feeding. Also rich in immunoglobulins. Formula doesn't contain live white blood cells. When a breastfeed mother is expose to germ, her body will create the antibody to that germ and pass on to the milk for baby.

This is only a few of the benefits of breast milk. For the last one, its really true. I've fallen ill twice during my breastfeeding journey. Surprisingly, baby don't get any of my virus at all. Instead, she is much healthier than me!

Some people have concern about returning to work and won't be able to breastfeed. Not true! I'm a working breastfeeding mothers. There are a wide range of breast pump in the market. Why not invest in one rather than into formula milk?

Anyway, a decision of whether to breast feed is still in decision of own individual. As for me, I just don't understand why some elders support formula. Don't they read the news about baby dies after feeding
