Here are my setting for my large java application
1. Java -> Java Options [append to the end of the other options]

-XX:PermSize=1024M

-XX:MaxNewSize=2048m

-XX:MaxPermSize=4196m

2. Inital memory pool: 1024 MB

3. Maximum memory pool: 6144 MB

4. restart tomcat

my system config: Windows 2003 64bit + 8gb ram

一天工作約10小時,由於工作關係,約有7成時間都要用電腦, 其中一半時間都要用browser. 所以browser的穩定性及速度對我來說都很重要.

在幾個月前忍不了IE及Firefox的slow motion. 我決定了不再用他們做我的default browser, 改用Google Chrome. 我相信每天我花在等browser的時間省了一半以上.

以下是我用acid3做一個測試標準, 看看IE8及Chrome 4的分別. Chrome 快而準!!!
看來IE8都只是上一代的產品有點過時.

I am using facebook to sharing information, photo, interest with my friends, family and partners. What is the usage of Twitter for me? I started to try using Twitter as one more tool for sharing information. For three months, I logged on to facebook and twitter everyday and sharing different information using the two media. And I came up with the following conclusion for Twitter:

1. Twitter is open – User is free to follow any user they want. Even I am not the friend with someone, I can follow his/her shared information; scan his tweet and information.
2. Twitter is real time – 140 characters only. It is faster than any media and newspaper. It is real time news from first person news. Social media will take over web 2.0 in 2010. Web 2.0 was a popular term in Internet 5 years ago for describing new trend of technology in Web development. Web 2.0 like a new version of software (Web 1.0); bug is fixed, new web design, many enhancement. But what is it? From Wikipedia, Web 2.0 is commonly associated with web applications that facilitate interactive information sharing, interoperability, user-centered design, and collaboration on the World Wide Web. The information still make me difficult to understand what is web 2.0

1.       Web 2.0 reached its peak in 2007
2.       Social media was just a beginning in 2007.
3.       2010 the search volume of social media is higher than web 2.0 in worldwide.
4.       Much more news related to social media than web 2.0

Social media is application of web 2.0. it is more meaningful than web 2.0 and easier for general public to understand. Web application with interactive information sharing and connecting with peoples.
